Help! A couple of questions......

Hey everyone-

I am new to all of this and feel stupid because I don't know what you mean by "rotation". What is that, the way you plan your workouts? Sorry for the crazy question.....

I am trying to get a fitness schedule together and am having a tough time. I am 32 and just had a baby 3 months ago. I need to do work ALL OVER to get back into tip top shape so I am scrambling to find the best videos that will be most beneficial, etc. I used to be a long distance runner before I got pregnant and did a lot of weights. So I am looking for something pretty intense that will get me in the best shape possible.

Any ideas for a few Cathe videos (or any others that are effective) you could recommend? I am brand new to Cathe and have seen SO many different varieties of videos from her (Body Blast, Slow and Heavy, Pure Strength, etc) and have no idea what the differences are!

Thanks so much for your help!

Kristen

Welcome Kristen...check out the folder for Rotations. Here's the quick link but you can get to it from the main forum page. It's the 6th one down.

Cathe posts monthly rotations for her workouts based on various results, i.e. this month is timesaver, last month was a fat burning, etc. Plus some of the other members post their ideas.

Following a rotation has really helped me try different work outs and I've seen great results so far.

Hope that helps!

You're right on the mark. A "rotation" is a way of planning your workouts for certain goals or to make sure you have a balanced program. It can be a very structured set-up (X workout on day 1, Y workout on day 2) or more open (upper body strength and cardio day 1, lower body strength and cardio day 2, interval cardio day 3, etc.).

As for Cathe videos, IMO, the Intensity Series in it's entirety is Cathe's best overall effort so far. A good balance of workouts (though I personally find it hard to do a rotation with just Cathe workouts, as I want some less intense options, different types of cardio, and some stretch/yoga).

What exactly are you looking for, and where are you at now (how much and what kind of cardio and strength training have you done? what are your goals?)

Thank you Jeanette! I have been reading and trying to figure it out. Now it is much more clear. THANK YOU!!!! : )

Kathryn-

Thank you! Well right now and I am getting back into it pretty quickly. I want to go right into the intense cardio and weight training and modify if necessary. I used to run ultra marathons (30-50 mile races) and did a good amount of weights depending on the training season. My goal now is to be in the best shape of my life! So with the confusion of SO many videos that I saw by Cathe, I had to write to figure out which were the most effective (so I don't waste my time!). I want to do both cardio and strength training a lot. I still have 20 pounds of baby weight on my (I had my two kids only 18 months apart) and want it to come off fast. With my first, it melted right off but with my 3 month old, it is taking awhile. She is now sleeping more through the night so I am more than ready to dive into all of this! Any other suggestions? Thank you for your time and help!

Kristen : )

PS. I was looking at some of the rotations Cathe wrote-what does KPC stand for? Are all of these her videos on the rotations? Do you just add your own cardio in when you feel like it?
