Heavy Weight/Light Weight Rotation?

If I lifted heavy weights/less reps for one week and then the next week I lifted light weights/more reps, would this rotation be effective for weight loss and overall muscle strength? Or should I just stick to the heavier weights?

Any info would be much appreciated!
 
its sounds like this is what STS is kind of about except doing 4 week cycles of different weight loads. so i would go with a yes but i am not sure of the results week to week. everybody is different so this may work for you but it doesn't work well for me.
