heart rate & muscle burn: anyone has the same experience?

Hi everyone

Lately I've discovered something interesting when I do cardio work out: I don't breath as hard anymore even though I still sweat like a pig. What does it mean? I know I loose calories when my heart rate goes up so I breath hard, now I don't breath as hard--I breath normal--so it means my heart rate doesn't go as high. What about tons of sweat? This confuses me.

Also, my muscle burns easily now. I am so sure that I don't work them when they are still sore from the previous work out, but whenver I use my muscle (sometimes even when I am not exercise), especially my shoulders and quads, I feel the burn easily. Why is that?

Share w/ me if you have the same experience~;-)

I definately sweat a ton- I used to run a lot and would get really sweaty, but nowadays I've got drips all over the place when I'm doing Cathe. Can't tell if it's her, being indoors, or what.

Can't help you with the muscle burn question... mine are still exhausted from Step Jump and Pump from this morning...

P.S. Go California women!! I knew someone would still be awake. ;-)

don't worry about that. Your heart doesn't have to work as hard because you are building up your aerobic capacity. As time goes on, your heart adjusts to cardio so you don't feel "winded" which you may have felt like you did when you first started. Check your heart rate on your carotid artery o nthe left side of your throat just under your jaw to make sure that it is still elevated while you are working out (should be above 20 or 25 beats per 10 seconds). When you say that you are breathing "normal", does that mean that you can talk while you are exercising, or does that mean that you aren't panting anymore? If you are still sweating, then my guess is that your heart rate is still getting up there where it needs to be.

This is more complex:
Are you getting good stretches in between workouts? That can definitely be a problem. Not stretching deep enough will cause tightness and will make your workouts less efficient and more difficult. You also hold tension in your neck and shoulders, which would lead me to believe that you need to stretch more.
How often do you allow your muscles to rest before you work them again? You may not feel sore, but they could still be repairing themselves.
How heavy are the weights you are using? You may be going too heavy too soon.
