Jeesh! What complicated little gadgets they are! I got my RHR and Max HR figured out tonight and I put the HRM on and got it working but I have yet to delv into programming it. It has a calories burned function on it too and I still have to locate that as well...This will be an experience! Hopefully one that is well worth it! :)

Hi fit mom-
I really love love love my HRM! I'm so addicted to it that I can't work out without it. At first I was intimidated by it but once I worked out with it a couple of times, I was hooked. It really helps me stay motivated and tuned in to my body while I'm working out.
I hope you love yours too!!

Wendy, I have the Polar F11 and love it. BUT when I first got it, I was very intimidated by it. It comes with a thick manual, and I find manuals boring. I'm one who learns better by doing and experimenting, so I just kept pushing buttons until I figured the thing out. Having an HR monitor is worth it.

Thanks for the encouragement ladies! :) I know I will like it...I just have to be patient and figure it out first.

Okay...I'll confess....I have 3...:)...once you get past the first few workouts after inputing stuff...you will LOVE it....:)...Carole

Carole, why do you have 3? I wanted to go out & buy a better one when my strap broke recently & I was waiting for a new strap to come in, & I just couldn't justify the expense.

And, if you go by what DH says, you'd think I had no spending self-control.

Marla I have 3 because I can!! Just some good deals I found. The last one is a combo Heart Rate monitor/GPS so on trails I know how far I've run. And as for DH's..."The know NOTHING"....http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/8/greenwinky.gif[/img]...Carole

Hi Wendy,

I love my hr monitor also. Once you get it all figured out you will love yours too. Fortunately I have teenagers that I give all my gadgets to and have them program for me. I tell 'em once you figure it out show me how it works. I've done this with cell phones, digital camera, computer stuff, and my hr monitor!

Oh gosh - my HRM is my favoritest gadget ever! :) It took me a good week or so to become completely comfortable using it, and even then, I still had to refer to the manual every now and then to figure some things out. I have the Polar F11 like Pinky does and I love it so much! :) It takes some time to get into the groove of using an HRM, but once you do, you can't stop.

... And as for DH's..."The know
>NOTHING"....http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/8/greenwinky.gif[/img]...Carole

Oh, Yeah! I know quite a lot about that. ;)

Thanks so much for the info! :) I'm still workin' on it...The past couple of days I have completely forgotten to even put my HRM on! LOL It's not yet a part of my routine prior to working out yet...

I got the Polar F11 in May and am addicted to it now. But the first few weeks I had it, there were a couple of early morning workouts where I put it on my wrist but forgot to turn it on. ;)
