Heart rate ? and IMAX 3

Cathlete
I was doing IMAX 3 this morning and my heart rate went up to 101%. I usually stay in the 90s on the blasts. My endurance has definitely improved. I think today was my best as far as endurance and I think I will soon be able to get through it all without stopping. I think with the shorter recovery times, my heart rate doesn't get back down enough. I do stop periodically to let it go down or do more recovery but I was just wondering if I'm doing too much and if this is healthy.

Bump........I am also curious.

So when I feel like I will croak of a heartattack from Imax 3 do I really have anything to worry about being a semi-fit 34 year old?

I'll take a stab at this one:

Imax 3 is my favorite as I believe it is Cathe's most challenging HIIT workout. I'm not sure when I'll be able to do it start to finish as taped by her and the crew.

With heart rate, I find that the step combos leading to the blasts bring my HR around 124-136, my average steady state cardio HR. When I complete an interval blast my heart rate is always 155-162 which is right at my max HR.

However, I often have to pause the post interval sequence as it is not long enough to return my HR to 120's to low 130's. I do not see this as a weakness but rather as important in reaping the full benefit of a true HIIT workout. I have found that with time, I my HR is recovering faster! But not as quickly as Cathe.
