Heard the baby's heartbeat today:))))

Hi Cathe! I just wanted to let you know that I saw my doctor today and I'm 14 weeks along. I heard the heartbeat! Something about it really clicked in my mind and made me realize,"Wow! you really are going to have a BABY!" I have been so sick. No energy. The only thing that helped me get through this past weeks are frozen fruit(blueberries& strawberries), Japanese Pear apples, Altoids cinnamon candy, anything orange(yams, carrots(raw),squash(don't ask why),oranges-any kind, jarred apricots), and triscuits with creamcheese. For some reason, I am not craving deep fried crap like I used to. Thank God!! IF I pass by a fast food restaurat when I'm out and about, I have to hold my nose so I don't puke. I also found out that sparkling water with a berry flavor really helps with the indigestion. I drink it by the liter! Also Tums! Those really helped in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep. My poor tummy felt like it's tide in knots. Anyway, besides all my woes, I'm surviving. I have tried to stay consistant with my workouts but to no avail. Only early morning walks before dawn help and doing your PS tapes once a week. Now that I am getting a little better( just a wee bit), I am itching to get back into my workouts. Did you workout all throughout your first trimester? I was off and on. I would feel like it one day and the next only want to sleep! Well, I've rambled enough. I'm so glad to be able to share with you how I feel. Bye:))

Congratulations Mandy Lee

Oh, I'm so excited for you. I had the same reaction that you did about hearing the baby's heartbeat. Having a baby definitely becomes a reality after you hear that quick little "bunny rabbit" heartbeat.
I'm so sorry that you are not feeling well. But it sounds as if things are getting a LITTLE better for you. Is this pregnancy anything like your others or does it feel entirely different? I wouldn't worry too much about eating specific foods right now. At times like these, you need to eat what stays down. Just keep on taking those prenatal vitimins. Actually the same goes for working out. Don't worry about doing specific workouts right now. Just take it day by day and do only what you feel up to (btw, thats what I did). And if a nap feels like a bigger priority on a particular day, go for it. Best of luck to you and please keep us posted <img

Hi Mandy!

Mandy, I hope you start feeling better SOON! It is much harder to be sick with later pregnancies when you still have to take care of the big sibs! Your story about fast food made me laugh. . . During all three of my pregnancies I could not walk into a McDonald's or Burger King! And do you know how far that grilled smell from Burger King FLOATS?? I could hardly deal with being within a few blocks of one! Ugh!! Funny, now when I walk into McD's I don't smell hot fat; but when I was pregnant it was OVERWHELMINGLY GROSS!! Bless your dear pregnant heart. . . -susan p

Maybe I should have been nosy here

Thought you might be more likely to see this here than in Jon's post above. If you don't see the nosy post there is one in Jon's wonderful accounting of the birth experience. I just wanted to ask a fellow exerciser with a large family some questions.
