Hi healthy eaters- rather, those who are trying to eat healthy lol!

My day is off to a slow start, beginning with checking some emails, and then, of course, checking in here. I am so excited about the presale and have to go make some calculations to see which DVDs I'll be buying!

I think I'm going to spend most of the day keeping an extra close eye on my dog Mikey. He had surgery to remove a tumor on his eyelid a few weeks ago, and the vet cut his nails very short while he was under, because he freaks out when anyone goes near his paws. The nails were a bit too short, and he got a cut under one nail. He limped on and off and licked/saturated it everyday. We tried antibiotics and painkillers, but it's not getting better because he can't stop licking. I'm sure it's probably uncomfortable. We went back to the vet yesterday, and we saw another partner who really doesn't listen to a thing you are saying. He gave us some anti-fungal serum to put on his paw for a few days, so I did that this morning, and I'm trying to make sure he doesn't lick too much. My poor baby lol :(

Hope everyone is doing well! TGIF!

Hi Gina....I just know me....I will order all the DVD's...:)...I do know how you feel about your dog....as we have had to put 2 down in the last 6 months and are down to one very spoiled one now..:)...I know also from experience those cuts under the nails heal very well and quick. My DH has done that to our dogs and of course I have to yell at him. But it would be good to watch your dog anyway, I would..

I did good today. I took my salad to work, but not the fruit I usually take as I knew I'd be meeting my DH. He was getting 2 new tires on my car and we went to Raley's (a local supermarket) and got him a spinach and mango salad (yuk!) some fruit and some of these garlic, rosemary potatoes. I didn't even think to look if the potatoes were cooked...:(...we can have them with dinner!!! We ate the salads and fruit and had a great lunch. Might try a tofu recipe tonight, if it isn't good there are always Boca Burgers!! Alot of sodium in them though...is there a weekend check in?..guess I'll find out....:)...Carole

Well, I have been very good this whole week, and my weight is down almost 3 (metric) pounds but it seems to be stabilising again. I am trying to figure out what kind of salad I would like to take to work for lunch instead of my usual sandwhich. Don't like to take too much time preparing before I leave in the morning. Don't know yet. Should be easy to prepare, but not loose too much vitamins because it's all been cut hours before I eat it. No room to prepare it in the office.

Heading into PMS and having SO many cravings!!! Want potato chips and chocolate, and rather than buy/eat them, I find myself picking through the pantry/fridge, or (better) just standing there wishing I could 'stare' something into being chips and chocolate!:+

This is making me very crabby, but my slim, highly muscled SIL who is so buff and fit she even enters those fitness contests all over the country, she is coming over tonight to watch fireworks, and I know her absolutely perfect figure will make me want to stay on my plan and workout today.

Dutchie---hubby and i often have a salad of greens topped with a handful of pecans and a SMALL handful of bleu cheese, and a bit of cubed apple. We top it with a lemon dressing made with about 1/2 c of lemon juice, a TINY bit of canola oil (optional) and a pinch of salt, and we sweeten the dressing to taste with some splenda. It is refreshin in the summertime and we love it. We just eat this for supper sometimes. Careful on the amts of pecans and bleu cheese. I noticed on Fitday that the cals really add up! It only takes a little of them to make it tasty anyway.

Hi Dutchie,

Way to go! Applause for you :) Have you ever tried "salad in a bag" from the supermarket. They have all kinds of mixes available- organic, Italian, garden, etc.

Hi Carole,

I am so sorry about your dogs. It's amazing how attached we become. I'm trying to make Mikey my healthy eating partner. He is a pug, but tall for a pug, and weights 30 lbs. He should weigh about 25, and I know it is so important for him to be at a healthy weight. I want him to live a long happy life! We have always fed him people food and a bit of dog food, but of course he likes people food better. Everyone in the neighborhood knows him, and at the deli a few blocks away, they give him freshly cut turkey a few times a week when my dad stops in for coffee. Too funny! I'm trying to keep his portions down and get him to eat his special fiber dog food as much as possible.

Anyway, have a great 4th of July!

Gina

Thanks Gina....yes I love animals and get way attached....like I'd do anything else???....:)...Hey, I tried some of the Genisoy nacho chips today.....not bad, I figured I could cheat a bit as I am doing a 4th of July, 5 mile run tomorrow and I'll probably get sucked into running faster than I should...x( happens every time! Happy 4th everyone!!!....Carole

Good Morning Guys, do you mind if I join in??? I hope not. I am a pretty healthy eater, but the last 2 weeks, I have fallen off the wagon, bad. I have not worked out, and ate every horrible food known to mankind. I am starting a walking program today, I just have a hard time handling that high intensity excercise. I broke my neck in high school, and it really bothers me, so I am going to try walking and see if I can enjoy excercising again, along with weight training 3 times a week. I made a Bean salad that someone posted on here yesterday, last night. I added 1 cup of WW Pasta to it, I hope it is good. It sounded good. I had soem Go Lean Crunch for breakfsat, w/ protin powder, and blueberries, and 2 T. of Flax see. Have a good day all.
