Healthy Eating/BFL Check-in, Wed. March 2

Good morning,

5:45 am - Cardio & Weights

B - 8 oz 1% milk w/ Carnation Instant Breakfast
S - yogurt
L - soup, salad
S - fruit, nuts
D - chicken, veggies

Clothes are a bit looser. Haven't stepped on the scale or measured yet, but will on Sunday. Cautiously optimistic.

Morning!

S&H Chest, Karate Fit (kicking drills)

1 - granola, skim milk, coffee, fat free half & half
2 - 2 hardboiled eggs, pear
3 - chicken salad
4 - protein shake w/ frozen strawberries
5 - some kind of protein, veggies, maybe brown rice
6 - peanut butter or a little granola

I've decided that rather than cut my starchy carbs too much (not having it for dinner makes me crave carbs like nothing else), I'm going to try upping my cardio to 6 days a week, even though I hate it. I'll see how that goes.

Hello! This is my first day of trying to eat healthy! I'll post my proposed menu with the hopes of sticking to it!


All Step (done!)
1. 1 fried egg (done!)
2. Apple with hummus (done!)
3. Chicken fajita wrap w/ yellow bell pepper, onion, grilled chicken, pico de gallo, and non-fat sour cream on a wheat tortilla
4. Mozzarella stick
5. Grilled salmon salad with lemon vinaigrette

Glad I found this post! It just might keep me true! :)

Today is Body Fusion + Abs

B: egg beaters, onion, bell pepper, turkey bacon on whole wheat tortilla
S: protein shake with half banana
L: nonfat vanilla yogurt, blueberries, ground flax seeds
S: cottage cheese, apple
D: mixed green salad, grilled chicken breast, lite italian dressing, sweet potato

Yes, this checkin is valuable in helping keep us honest! At the very least I can plan healthier menus.

Question for anyone: Some days I don't eat everything I plan to. Either because my schedule is off and if I tried to eat everything I would be eating very late, or my appetite is low and I just don't think about it. Then other days, I feel like I could eat all day. Does anyone else get this way? What's the best way to deal with it?

hello everyone!

well today is not going to be the BEST eating day in the world... but not the worst either... I know i need to clean it up if i want to lose these last few pounds!

b - Sprouted Wheat Toast, egg + 2 egg whites, lf cheddar, v8
l - big salad, 2 pieces of sushi
s - 1/2 PB sandwich on sprouted wheat, apple
d - thin crust veggie pizza - home made
s - plum, almonds

Sure, I have days like that all of the time. I just figure, if I've blown a meal, I've blown it and move on. If I feel hungry and need to eat, I eat. Not listening to your body is a huge mistake.

We started this check-in in part because it helps everybody keep their focus, it also helps in giving new ideas on what others are doing.

Life's too short to beat yourself up over your diet. We're all doing the best we can.

Hi all. I am so happy to be back home. I was travelling since last Thursday. I am proud of myself as I managed to pretty much stay on track throughout my entire trip (it was a biz trip by the way w/lots of food all over the place!) I lost almost 3 lbs since last week before I left so I guess all the running around helped?

Nicole - my best advice is on some days you just have to "go with it". Listen to your body. I have hungry days and not so hungry days. As long as you are eating healthy food that is approved don't sweat it. I was also having a "hungry" day today.

M1: 1/2 Promax Bar (yummy!)
M2: oatmeal, 1/2c cottage cheese
M3: roast beef sand on wheat, salad
M4: tbd - probably an eas myoplex lite bar
M5: tbd - probably steak strips, potato
M6: tbd - apple, swiss cheese (or eas ML shake)

Workout: after work - gym - LB + 20 min. on eliptical. My sched is all messed up this week from traveling ;)
