Healthy Body Calculator

I just ran across this website when looking for metabolic rates. Kinda neat as it lets you adjust your macros (to an extent) and in the end will give you an idea of a meal plan based upon your own preferences for # of meals, type of foods you eat, etc. Then you can click on the lists for the servings of the item you are supposed to eat and it brings up a list of foods to choose from.

Ok, I've never seen this before on any on-iine calculator that I've used. I'm only 4'9" and it will NOT accept it. It says you have to be at least 4'10" for it to calculate. So, I had to grow an inch.

I just ran through the numbers and it has me at 1197 calories a day! I would starve on that! Today alone, and this is not typical by any means, I did my C5K week 4 run, played tennis, then we took our dogs to the park for a walk! I usually only do one workout per day, but it was the first, and only, day of sunshine we've had up here in a month!

When I first started trying to lose weight, I was able to go on that, but I wasn't eating 5 mini meals, I was only eating 3 times a day, then I switch to eating clean. I'm still losing, albeit more slowly, but am taking in between 1400 and 1800 calories a day, depending. I rarely see a day under 1400 calories anymore!

1200 calories per day! It told me to maintain my current weight, but anything less than 1800-2000 calories per day and I lose weight, so that doesn't compute.

Nancy:

I know! I rechecked my entries and all my info was correct. Can't figure out why it seems to be so off. Oh well, what I'm doing is working, so I won't mess with it. I just thought it would be neat to have the meal suggestions! Guess I'll just wait for my Clean Eating magazine to start coming!

Not sure what is happening with some of you. At 51 yrs, 5'5", 130 lbs my maintenance is 1700 cals.

Are you making sure your hours = 24 hours a day? (sleep, sedentary, active, highly active)

When I then entered for weight loss it put me at 1450 cals for 1 lb a week. Totally matches to anything else I have read/tried.

Hmmmm . . .

Ooops, I didn't put in any hours at all. Duh. I guess that explains it!

ETA: Nope. I filled in the hours, and it has my maintenance calories at 1367. At that rate, by the end of the year I would look anorexic.
