Health food?

Hi,
I just read a fairly new book, "Sound Mind, Sound Body," by David Kirsch. I usually just skim these type of books, but this is actually good. Maybe I'm more into it b/c I finally got sick of how much junk I was eating w/o even being hungry (plus, I started to get back fat- the one place that's always been fine!!)

Anyway, he says you should try to eat natural & organic foods, like from a health food store. Has anyone ever been to a Fresh Fields market? There's one near me, but I like typical processed foods so much, I never thought I'd find a thing I liked there. But I want to try. What types of food are there? Is it tasteless? What are some good 'starter' foods to try (I'm not a great cook)?

Thanks for ANY input- I know these are dumb questions!

I've never been to a Fresh Fields market, never even heard of one really. And I am not devoted to organic foods. But I have eaten one particular organic food I really like: Amy's organic burritos. They are found in the frozen food section og my regular grocery store. Jeanne

Hi, my husband & I eat organic produce which we think tastes better than non-organic. Never heard of Fresh Fields, but here in the sf bay area we are blessed with a variety of health food stores. We also buy organic grains, beans and whatever else we can find. We also think these taste better than non-organic. Unprocessed foods may take a while to get used to (particular ones that are sweetened naturally) but they are so much better for you. Maybe start out with fruits & veggies, soups, rice mixes... I don't think any natural foods are tasteless at all. When you take away the preservatives & artifical flavors, the natural flavor of the food is all that's left. Just experiment & see what you like. Keep an open mind and don't be afraid of trying new things! That's what keeps life interesting!
