Hawaii...Redux

okay, so i posted that bf and i were planning a trip to hawaii. well, i had let my passport expire and went to get a new one but we didn't want to plan on it coming even though we paid extra to have it expedited. it would be my luck for him to book a trip and then have something happen and not get my passport in time. anyway...i went to the post office and applied for a new passport (my old one was too old to renew) and guess what? I GOT MY NEW PASSPORT IN THE MAIL EIGHT DAYS AFTER I WENT TO THE POST OFFICE!!! i can not believe how quickly i got it!

so...we booked a trip to ARUBA! i do want to go to hawaii, but the eight hour flight was definitely a deterrant. anyone who knows me knows i find it very difficult to sit still for loooooong periods of time, so a four hour flight to aruba was definitely more appealing than an eight hour flight to hawaii! i definitely want to go to hawaii, but after paying extra to get my passport early (and actually getting it), i wanted to take advantage of that. so, we are aruba-bound. it looks beautiful and i am looking forward to it. we will be gone for 10 days. i will miss my babies (dogs) but they will be well cared for.

thanks to all of you who gave me wonderful information and advice on hawaii. if anyone has any tips for aruba, please let me know!!! the trip is booked, so it's a definite! ;-)
 
I have no Aruba tips, but wanted to say how wonderful that you're going!! 10 whole days of warm sun, sand and freedom sounds blissful.
That's great you got your passports so quickly. What are you packing? Have you started shopping yet??

i have NO idea what to pack! i am horrible with packing and tend to majorly overpack. as for shopping, that starts with bf this weekend...}( }( }(
 
OMG Lorie DH and I are considering Aruba for our next trip. :) We just took passport photos of each other, and we have our applications all set. (DH let his expire and I've never had one.)

I want to know everything!!! :)
 
ame!!! scrap the plannign and come with US!!!

of course, you will get a full report, but what would be better than coming???
 
OMG, while I was out on my long run yesterday, I was fantasizing about vacations and thought about Aruba over Teachers' Convention (in Nov.) Must be the WT telekinesis. :7

I've only heard great things from friends who have gone. Will be reading with much interest the responses and tips you get.
