I have Cathe's MIS & PS tapes, but have been chicken to order cardio. I did a CIA cardio kickboxing tape ( my first cardio tape experience) and realized that I need something MUCH more intense.

Since I am a novice to cardio tapes, and since I need real intensity, which of the Cathe tapes are good for me? I am not familiar with step choreography, and do not catch onto steps too easily....HELP me pick a good starter tape ( or two). I was thinking of Bodymax, MIC, Mega Step Blast and Intervalmax. Would those be good choices?

My choices for starter videos

I would begin with "Body Max" which is one of the greatest workout videos ever made. I would also consider "MIC" because it has a great combination of floor and step aerobics. MIC can be divided up into two wonderful workouts. The choreography is pretty basic in the floor portion. The step may take a little time to learn, but is much less complex than "Step Works" --

"Interval Max" is not broken down, even though the steps are basic. It is also extremely challenging.

Hope this helps a little.

help please

hi! I'm new to the bunch so forgive me that I had to put my question under the strength video question, I just don't know how to be able to fill out my own question. I need some advice quickly! I ordered my first two Cathe videos, Bodymax, and Powermax and I love them! I want to add muscle to my legs and add definition to my stomach while keeping the intensity high and adding cardio so I can work off any extra calories. My main goal is to really add mass to my legs. What videos should I order for lower body parts that have a good ab section? How often should I be doing BodyMax and PowerMax?? Thanks in advance!

Pure Strength Strong Legs & Abs

PS SLA is an excellent tape for building leg strength/mass and it has a great abs section as well. Maximum Intensity Strength is also excellent and gives you a total body workout including legs and abs. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Which videos?

I'm glad you are enjoying Powermax and Bodymax. You picked the two most popular tapes to start with. I would not recommend doing the same exact video for more than two times per week to keep it refreshing and effective. It is better to vary your cardio workouts with a variety of activities. However, if you are going to use predominately the same type of workout, for instance step, then atleast vary your step workouts by using different step tapes.

As for your strength goals, I would recommend getting my Pure Strength Strong Legs and Abs. I would use the heaviest weight that you can safely handle and do the workout no more than two non-consecutive days per week. I also have another video, Maximum Intensity Strength. I would recommend this as a second choice, being that your focus is your legs and abs. MIS is total body conditioning that starts with legs for 25 minutes, then upper body for about 25 minutes, and then finishes with about 8 minutes of ab work. Hope this helps!

Thanks Cathe and Pamela!

Wow, I got a responce so quickly! Thanks so much, and since you both recommended the same tapes, I will be ordering both of them! I appreciate the advice. Cathe, you are wonderful and I truly love your work...thanks! Deandra

Thanks for your suggestions, Amy!

I am going to order those 4 videos, bravely. I figure if I can do PS legs, I can tackle Cathe cardio.

Besides that, I'll be in my living room alone in my underware, and no one will know if I mess up the steps the first few times through!
