Hi all! Happy Thanksgiving!!! I was using my Jack LaLanne juicer this morning. I was trying to keep it nice an healthy... until dinner. I was making the Green Drink Dr. Oz recommended on the Oprah show a couple of weeks ago. The motor on my juicer started to smoke!!!! The blade would not longer turn. I have only used this juicer 5-7 times at the most!! Does anyone else out there own one? What was your experience. And to think I was thinking of getting the Elite to make my own butter!

Thanks in advance for you input!

I had one, but I sent it back after I saw how badly it was made: lots of plastic parts (I had a pricey but oh-so-worth-it Acme juicer for years, so I knew what a quality juicer should look like). I wasn't impressed at all.

I would send it back and if they give you a hard time let them know you're more than happy to contact the Better Business Bureau or your state's attorney general.

I have this juicer and I haven't had any problems too many parts though. I would contact the company and try to get a new one. I got mine at bed and bath and beyond.

FYI- Thanks for all your responses. I called the customer service number this morning. I had no problem. The are sending me a new base (motor). Unfortuantely, I had to pay $19 s&h. Especially considering that I did not use it much the first time. Rest assured, I will use it this time. I keep reading how good juicing is to get in your fruits and veggies. In fact, I am starting a new thread on here and VF to see if you wonderful ladies and gents will share some good juicing recipes!;-)
