HATE - Sept 4

August

Cathlete
Good morning! http://bestsmileys.com/sun/2.gif

I'm just having my smoothie now after having finished Bar Method.

Mooch and Cham's favorite activity as of late - watching me do dishes. When I turn that water on, wow, it's a race to see who gets the best position at the side of the sink LOL.

Which reminds me...I really need to try giving them baths. I read so much about how you really need to bathe them once a month, but then I'll always come across something that says you really only need to bathe them if they get filthy.

On that quizzical note...

ROBIN -

>What I usually do with a bug in the house is ignore it.

LOL, bug heaven!

JENNIE -

>I did my best with the blasts but it wasn't very good.

They're never good, at least not in my opinion LOL.

>It's going to take me sometime to remember everyone. Please forgive me for not addressing all of you.

I remember when I first joined in and I totally couldn't remember who was who, especially the ones without avators.

http://bestsmileys.com/peeping/1.gif

JENNIFER -

>"Sock City"

That reminds me I need to buy socks big time.

Glad you had a good time in (copy/paste) Schipsschewana!

And I salute you for taking the initiative for getting out and about after your divorce. That kind of action takes some guts, but it's so worth it.

JEN -

>I had a side salad w/ 4 grilled shrimp

WOO HOO! http://bestsmileys.com/cheering/2.gif

That's great to hear, Jen. I'm glad you were able to eat well at the restaurant! Maybe that will inspire your stomach to want more of that kind of stuff.

> What is it with Jennifer's and being single, huh?!?

Let's not forget that I live with 2 kittens and my DP (darling plant).

>I just hate it when I know going into it that they are really nice guys

http://bestsmileys.com/thinking/1.gif

Hey, I found a good cat toy that might be worth looking into, for those who might be interested...MIchele - I know you've been looking for something new for little Johnny boy!

It's called JAZZY CAT http://pets.ca/blog/?p=31

All right. I'm going to attempt to go to my work room and...work http://bestsmileys.com/working/3.gif Though I'd much rather laze on my sofa petting my squirrels and singing the Tum-tum song to them.

Have a nice day! :D

G'morning Haters,

Today is my rest day. :) Which is a good thing because I can tell my body needs it.

Jen in MI, sorry I got you confused. See I told you it would take me awhile to get everyone straight. :7

For those of you that get up this early to work out. You're crazy. ;-) I don't know how you do it. I only get up this early for work.

JenL, I enjoy being single but I wouldn't mind to find that someone special. If it happens it happens.

August, my cats run to see who can get into the bathroom first. Crazy cats. And then they just sit there and stare.

I don't have access to the internet at work, so everyone have a great day.

Jennie.

Live like you were dying.

Good Morning HatersVille.

4 Days of work then it's the weekend, then 5 days of much needed vacation filled with appts.
My cats, Seville and Madrid, were nice to me this morning and let me sleep. Madrid is the one that does the bathroom visits.

My front porch is supposed to be finished this coming weekend, but rain is back in the MI forecast once again so I'm getting my yard ready to replant grass seed. I've had a tarp over some nasty weeds that are finally gone and will put seed there and move the tarp over again.

Have a Great Day!!

Good morning, Haters!!

I hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend. Ours was pretty good, except for the tuna melt incident :p . We spent the day with my brother yesterday and had a pretty good GTG with him. We took him out to lunch and then shopping for CD's and groceries.

I found a fun new rotation called Look Great in Eight that I might try. I think it was designed for the gym but it can easily be modified for home/DVD use. They give a pretty good explanation of how to do it, followed by a template, followed by specific exercises to do. There's a nutritional plan to follow, too, but I'll just do my own thing as always;) :p . I'm going to follow the template and use a combo of Cathe, Jari Love, and CC. The article was first printed in some magazine but you can find it online. Here's the link if you're interested: http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0KGB/is_3_3/ai_98592788

AUGUST - What's the Bar Method like? Do you have a bar/barre? I think I would benefit from it because I don't like to use a lot of weight for lower body work, and I like the stretchiness (is that a word?) of this style of exercise. I've been debating whether or not to get the Fluidity workout -- oh man, I'd love to have that barre. I've heard it's really sturdy and well made.

>Which reminds me...I really need to try giving them baths. I read so much about how you really need to bathe them once a month, but then I'll always come across something that says you really only need to bathe them if they get filthy.

IMHO you do not NEED to bathe indoor squirrels. My Johnny hasn't had a bath in about 8 or 9 years and he's very clean. I used to bathe my boys when they were kittens but it mostly just freaked them out, and it took an eternity for them to dry, and then they would spend hours licking themselves and each other -- LMAO!! I took Johnny to a professional groomer a couple of weeks after his bladder surgery and he hasn't had a bath since then. I brush him everyday and I clean his ears. I use a damp cloth to wipe his little face and dislodge any eye matter, but it's more of an exercise in caressing than actual cleaning, and he really likes it.

Cats do an exceptional job of bathing themselves. The word "need" is what I'm responding to. I think it's fine to bathe your cats if you want to, but I don't believe it's a necessity, unless they go outside. IMO, the most important thing to do is to run your hands through every square inch of their coats everyday to note skin integrity; check for infestations, rashes, cuts, sores, and lumps, and give them a thorough brushing -- especially if your cats have long hair. That's my philosophy and I won't hold it against anyone who disagrees with me:p :7

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Zak and Zig video with the Jazzy Cat teaser -- ROTFLMAO!! Oh yeah, my Johnny slumbers and lumbers all day long:+

JENNIE -
>For those of you that get up this early to work out. You're crazy. I don't know how you do it. I only get up this early for work.

I think you and I will get along beautifully:D

It's a real bummer that you don't have the internet at work, but at least Jen will have a somebody to play with in the evening because she usually doesn't post until then. I post mainly during the day since I'm a SAHKM (stay at home kitty mom).

JENNIFER - Is your vacation totally about appointments? Say it isn't so:eek: ! You must do something fun!

Robin, Jen, Shelley, Diane, Dana, and any/everyone else -- Hello and what 'cha doin!?

I'm signing off for a bit. I have lots of stuff to do today and I need to get started on it. I'll BBL if I can.

JENNIE - Haha about the bathroom! My guys watch me take a shower. Their eyes get all bugged out, too. I don't know if I should feel insulted or flattered LOL.

Oh, by the way, if you thought I got up at 4am to post that first thing, you're out of your mind. I live in Japan, so 4am is...what...like 2pm here or something like that.

Never. I would never wake up that early to exercise. I wouldn't wake up that early for much of anything.

JENNIFER - I hope you have a great vacation! And I hope there are some appointments in there that include all-fun stuff!

MICHELE - I'm so glad you had such a great few days of celebration. I'm sure the birthday party must have been fun.

Ooh, good, a new plan! I'm going to check out this Great-in-8 thing. This is just what I need! LMAO. No, really.

Haha, I think you and I are always talking about the Bar Method. This one doesn't use an actual bar - you use a chair or whatever works. I use my laundry machine LOL.

Thanks for your thoughts on bathing. Kitties, that is. I agree with what you wrote. Growing up with three cats, we NEVER bathed them. I mean, we never did ANYTHING for them really, and they all lived to be nearly 20. I mean, really, I had no idea you had to brush and trim nails and all that stuff. Our three cats were indoor-outdoor and I have no idea what we fed them either! But they must have been all right since they were all healthy and very happy, loving cats.

Maybe it's because we didn't bathe them LOL.

On the link for Jazzy Cat, it's funny to hear the guy say "Who wants to play! Who wants to play!" He totally loves his kitties!

All right. I've got to check out this Great 8 link and then get to bed. Ooh, I've still got to look at the TV show link you gave me.

I'm out of town from tomorrow until Friday so everybody be good!

Especially Jennifers!

LOL. :+

>It's hardcore, serious and time-consuming. If you follow it -- for the results it was intended to produce -- be prepared to push your body beyond its comfort zone

Oh yeah, this program is totally up my alley. :p

Hey Augie!!

I can tell you're in full research mode with kitty care -- LMAO!! That's good though -- it's what I love about you. And it make our lives so much easier because you're completely trustworthy and you'll be very thorough;) :7 :* :*

Let me know what you think about the LGI8 program -- maybe we can do it together:D

We'll miss you but I hope you have a good trip:* :*

I'm off to rob Peter to pay Paul, in other words, it's time to pay bills:p

ETA Oh yeah, it's eight WEEKS..not 8 days:p ROTFLMAO!!

It doesn't look like too much torture, though, since you can pretty much pick all your own workouts. Right!?

>you're completely trustworthy

What a sweet thing to say!

http://bestsmileys.com/evil/3.gif

I never knew I was so into researching things. I wonder if this was always in me, or if it just surfaced when I reached adulthood. LOL.

It's kind of a nuisance. :D

So I can't sleep, surprise, surprise, so I read through the LGI8. And good lawd, no, we cannot do it together. http://bestsmileys.com/nono/7.gif I started feeling queezy reading the cardio part, and then I read through the menu and now I'm hungry at 2am. x(

Remember back in the day when I would next write that I'd go to my fridge to snack on some green beans?

http://bestsmileys.com/lol/17.gif

All right. Pay your bills and I'll see you later. Hopefully that means after I return from my trip, and not later as in in a few hours of sleepless turmoil.

I forgot to mention that, aside from birthday cake, DH and I split a bucket of movie popcorn this weekend -- the BIG bucket...with butter}( :9

Oh man, I really need to straighten up my eating. I'm sugared up and high on bad carbs and I need to spin out of this downward spiral right now. I shall try;(

ETA ROTFLMAO!!! We were posting at the same time!

>Remember back in the day when I would next write that I'd go to my fridge to snack on some green beans?

Whatever happened to those days? I miss them and all the barley talk, too. Oh yeah, green beans 'n barley -- it's time to cook! :9

>All right. Pay your bills and I'll see you later. Hopefully that means after I return from my trip, and not later as in in a few hours of sleepless turmoil.

ROTFLMAO!!!

G'night Augie...sleep tight:* http://bestsmileys.com/sleeping/2.gif

I had so much cake and ice cream over a week, that when I didn't eat "much" sugar yesterday, my teeth ached.

They ACHED.

LMAO.

Ooooh, popcorn. Man, popcorn is great.

ETA : Woo hoo! Posting at the same time!!

Oh yeah! BARLEY! I haven't even SAID that word in ages. BARLEY!

Barley risotto!! That's what I want for dinner tonight!! With green beans, naturally;) .

2 words...FALL FOOD:9

I'm getting really hungry for homemade soups and stews...and chili!!

Okay, sorry. I promise no more food talk. Why don't you have a nice piece of PB toast? That's healthy and it will be filling and help you sleep;)

Do you have a sweet potato stashed in your freezer?

Oh yeah, FALL FOOD is awesome!!!!! There's so much good stuff in the Fall.

Homemade soups and stews sound SO yum. I wish someone would make me some. :)

PB toast is actually just about the only thing I have in my apartment right now. And that doesn't sound bad, actually.

Hey, how's your elbow?

http://bestsmileys.com/playing/16.gif

The elbow -- the saga continues.

It actually feels pretty good today, but then, I didn't do anything to aggravate it over the long weekend. I'm really scared to try much weight lifting. I'm going to use light weights and I'll just stop if it starts to hurt. Believe it or not, cardio seems to make it feel better. Wouldn't you know it -- my arch nemesis finds yet another way to wiggle into my life.:p

Augie -- you come here and I'll cook for you :*

Yeah, I've noticed you writing that word recently. That sounds pretty great!

LMAO on the belly dancing emoticon!

You're making me want to do a dance DVD!

But there's still the issue about eating something right now. Hmm. Bran Flakes don't sound bad either. And they're faster LOL.

>Do you have a sweet potato stashed in your freezer?

I just noticed you added this to your post!

Yup, I've got frozen sweet potatoes.

I'M SICK OF THEM

LOL.

Would you like to know the ridiculous reason I'm not just going to eat?

My two darling squirrels are fast asleep on my bed, and I fear getting up to eat will wake them from their peaceful slumber!
