HATE - Sept 20

August

Cathlete
Thank you all for your well wishes!!

As promised, I am back with GOOD NEWS! (Well, under the circumstance, that is LOL.)

Chami didn't break any bones. She just sprained her wrist pretty bad, not to mention some torn out fingernails ow ow owee owee. Her wrist had gotten really swollen and she could barely bring herself to walk on it.

I'm so thankful I didn't wait until Monday (when they get their stitches out).

I was also thankful to see the woman doctor again when picking up Cham. Actually, the vet that does the shots and whatnot is a man, but the vet who did the paw/surgeries was a woman. While she was explaining to me showing me Cham's x-rays, her voice seemed kind of shaky - I think she just plain out felt awful that this happened (I was visibly upset when I left Chami there earlier). She was very respectful and apologetic for such a thing to happen (and of course I wasn't charged, but that's a no brainer).

Cham was out on the table in between us, and she was shaking, but she was sniffing around and seemed to be half enjoying the new surroundings.

Cham walked all over the table, and then up to lean against me, and then to sniff out the female doctor,...and this female doctor was so good to Cham when they interacted, I immediately felt much better. I could tell Cham felt comfortable with her, as far as a medicine-stinky vet would be concerned LOL.

THANK GAWD! THANK GAWD Cham didn't break a bone!

That being said, Cham is now wearing a very fashionable fluorescent green cast that is to stay on for two weeks, and I am to give her antibiotics for the following 5 days. Of course, I go out of town on Saturday, and I'm not sure if Mom can handle prying Cham's mouth open to pop in a pill (heck, I hope I can!)...the doctor said that if I could give the medicine until at least Saturday (which would be 4 doses), then that would be all right and they'd be seeing them on Monday.

Mom says she'll do her best. Who knows, my Mom might be better at that kind of thing than I.

Anyway, I got Cham home and the first thing she did was hobble straight to her dry food LOL. Then Mooch gave her lots of kisses which totally made me cry because it was just so lovely!

Then I gave her a nice massage and tummy rub, which included several hit songs from the album The Best of Tum-tum & Bum-bum. I can totally tell she's feeling much much better (well, she has pain medicine in her) and she really enjoyed her rub, and now she is fast asleep next to me.

Ahhhhh.

I'm going to take it easy tonight and tomorrow, and then I'm off Saturday to Monday.

AND NOW! Let me get to personals.

JEN THE SNEEZE QUEEN -

>Chad isn't bothering me yet

LMAO! That reminds me of some lyrics from the classic Salt 'N Peppa :

Somebody's gettin' on my nerves!
Somebody's gettin' on my nerves!
Somebody's gettin' on my nerves!
Forget that you're a lady and give him what he deserves!

The man is cooking good foods for you. He's into working out and knows tons about health. He lives close by. Is this AWESOME or what?!

>We have so much in common that it's kind of like hanging out with myself which I could NEVER get tired of... JUST KIDDING!!!

OMG, you nut. Love it.

I love how these two sentences segue into each other in your post:

>I think I'm going to take a bottle of wine over so I can have a glass or two- I think I'm going to hit the couch when I get there and stay there.

>I feel like I could throw up

LOL.

By the way, we all think the man is awesome since he is getting you to eat some really healthy, good foods. Cheers to that man.

JENNIFER - what's a Nascar run?

>He actually listened to me during that time period. (that was freaky).

LOL. When Cham is out of the house, Mooch becomes a total mush. He absolutely can't be alone.

Oh, Cham woke up, had a bite to eat, and then ran/hobbled over to Mooch to...wrestle?! LOL. Well, apparently she does feel much better! And Mooch must know, too, because he's being so gentle.

MICHELE - The cute photos were totally what I needed. I had a really good laugh at the kitten with the gold ribbon on his head.

>P.S. Did y'all know it's Talk Like a Pirate Day? No joke! Robin's office is celebrating with wacky costumes and a deviled egg armada

Arrrrrrrrr!

ROBIN - Arrrrrrrrrrrr!

>a bowl of cereal for dinner

This seems to be a popular dinner at Hatesville these days.

All right all. I feel much better myself. I hope even after Cham's medicine wears off that she'll still be in the good mood she's in, and that the pain from her wrist won't bug her too much. Her hobble is cute.

And she's using her cast right now as a head rest LOL.

Later!

HIYA August- Yes, it is 4AM here and YES I am awake, ugh! x( I am getting real tired of not being able to sleep, I think I have decided on my plan of attack for today though... I am going to go work out now before work and get my cardio/legs in now and then maybe do BM2 upper body & abs after work and then take a nap if I can since i'll have my workout in... as wide awake as I am right now I don't really see any point in trying to fall back to sleep for 2 hours. Maybe I'll go into work early again and leave about 3 if it's slow...

>I'm not sure if Mom can handle prying Cham's mouth open to pop in a pill (heck, I hope I can!)...

This isn't to hard, just pry it right open & keep the pill on your finger & shove it down the back of the throat then massage then hold her mouth shut for a split second & you should be good-she'll act like it's horrible but I've done it to my babies before & take my word it doesn't hurt them, YOU CAN DO IT!!!! ;-)

>Forget that you're a lady and give him what he deserves!

What are you telling me to do August?!?!? :p ;-) :D

>>I think I'm going to take a bottle of wine over so I can have a glass or two- I think I'm going to hit the couch when I get there and stay there.I feel like I could throw up

Yeah, I guess that does all kind of run together and sound bad- now that I go back & read "bottle of wine, couch, and stay there" that didn't come out right, I meant plop my butt on the couch & not move-not like sleep there, lol! }(

yeah, he is a good cook and I could walk to his house in less than 10 min... that is a good thing when it's 11PM & I am driving home but could be 'not such a good thing' eventually...

So, where are you going Saturday? Are you out of town just for the day or longer? Hopefully only for the day, I'll be pissed if you are gone longer! ;-) :p

Okay, I am seriously considering heading downstairs to do Shape It Up, it's 80 min but isn't real cardio intense so I know I could do it with as much energy now as I could 12 hours from now when I usually work out and I'll probably be happy after work when I already have my workout in... LIGHT BULB---- MAYBE I COULD EVEN GET TWO WORKOUTS IN TODAY!!!!! }( }(

I'm sure I'll BB-you guys are going to get REAL sick of me if I can't start sleeping! :p

Morning all. {{{August and Cham}}} I'm so sorry for Cham's woes and glad it wasn't more serious. That's the worse thing about pets. It's so hard when they are sick or in pain. I hope the lovely cast doesn't make her crazy!

Jen, I'm LOL at the wine/couch/throw up line. Sounds like Chad and you are getting along just fine. I hope whatever sinusy thing (is that still bothering you?) clears up soon. We all had a cold here a couple weeks ago with a nasty cough. Now we all have the sniffely sneezies. I hate being ill. But it's not bad enough to call in sick or keep me from working out, so I guess I can't complain.

Hi to Michele, Dana, Shelley and all the other Jennifers. I'll try to get back after work. I'm planning on something cardio today. Maybe Tracey S. Later haters.

JEN - Ahhh, I like it when people join the up at 4am club. :p

>a good thing when it's 11PM & I am driving home but could be 'not such a good thing' eventually...

LOL. Yeah, I see what you mean.

So when is the plopping down on Chad's sofa going to be? Being that you don't like to sit still very long, does that include plopping, too?

Thanks for the kitty pill advice. The doctor showed me to open up the mouth, pop the pill in and then quickly blow air on her face. She'll swallow and be like, "WTH was that?" LOL. I'll be trying it out in a few hours. Wish me luck.

ROBIN - The cast is pretty cute. It's bright green and makes her walk like a pirate. It's too bad she's a day late for your pirate day LOL.

Good Morning Haters.

August-Glad you're squirrels are doing better. It's good that you didn't wait till Monday.

The Nascar run in my house happens early in the morning when Seville and Madrid will continually charge through the house back and forth at high speeds.

Jen-Good for you and Chad.

It's been a long week at work after vacation. I was not mentally prepared to go back. Glad it's almost Friday though.

Have a Great Day!

Hello again! I have done Shape It Up, showered, and am basically ready for work- Sport is having a fit and wants to play with him so going to do that for a few then head off to work, I am SO tired. x(

Robin- Yeah, my sinus/allergies are still really bothering me- I am thinking that is also part of the reason I'm not sleeping that great... I hate being sick too- you sound like me though- in order to make me not work out & work I have to be REALLY bad-which I think ends up extending the duration of the cold/flu...

August- Yeah, I have a feeling I may be joining the 4AM club for a while- I haven't been sleeping good at all and now I refuse to stay in bed so when I can't sleep I'm on the computer! I did plop down on his couch for a while after dinner last night - not real long though as you are correct I can't sit still too long! :p I looked at some pictures, he took his mom on a trip to Italy for her b-day so I glanced through those.

Be sure to report back on Cham's medicine, I am sending good vibes your way!

Jennifer- I agree, it's been a LONG week... any plans for the weekend with anyone from match.com??

Michele- If you didn't see my post to you at 2AM go back and read yesterday's post- didn't know if you saw the thread on the OD about Barry's bootcamp- that my be good for your DH and is CHEAP compared to what it was. I ordered it last night!

okay, well i'll be back after work, since I did Shape It up already I think I'll do B&G floor glute work and either BM2 upper body or the upper body from P90... or i may just SLEEP on the couch for a while-but doubt it!

JENNIFER - Oh! THAT Nascar run! LMAO!

JEN -

>he took his mom on a trip to Italy for her b-day so I glanced through those.

I'm liking this man more and more. :)

Well, I just gave Cham her first pill. Wow, it was kind of a fun new experience for us both. LOL that she would know to chomp down her jaws so they're hard to open. I held her between my knees making sure not to squish her stitches, and gently tilted her head back, held my thumb and pointer finger on her cheeks and eased them back and up, and with my other hand, I opened up pressing down on her bottom teeth and popped the pill down the back, then I blew in her face and it disappeared! I followed it with Greenies.

It took me maybe three tries, and it was thrilling!

Now I think I figured it out. I'll tell you tomorrow morning my time. :*

Hiya everyone!!

I don't have much time right now but I'll BBIAB for personals. I've been on the friggin phone. I need coffee and breakfast, then I'll BB :D

I just wanted to take a second to give some instruction -- LMAO!! Scruff Chami's neck -- this will unlock her jaw. Don't worry, it doesn't hurt at all. Just scruff up the skin on the neck, pull her head back slightly, and her jaw will relax, then give the pill like your vet suggested. Also, put her on a stable surface like your kitchen counter or the washing machine -- something that will mimic the exam table in a vets office -- and pull her close to you so she's up against you. This gives you a little leverage. It's much easier to give a pill this way than to try and do it with the kitty on your lap. Works every time;)

Brekkie is calling:9

WHERE IS EVERYBODY!?

August - how's Chami doing? I'm lol at little Chami looking like a pirate with a peg leg. What an ordeal you've been through! It should be smooth sailing from here on out though.

It sounds like your vet was appropriately humbled by the incident. Having said that, sometimes things happen that are out of everyone's control, and this sounds like one of those times. You were gracious to be so understanding. ;) :*

Jen - I went ahead and ordered the BBC DVD's. I figure for $20 if DH doesn't like them it's not a big loss. I'm still going to get him the P90 set because I think he might be more of a "Tony" kind of a guy, and they seem to fit his lifestyle -- you know -- working 14 hours a day, lots of meetings out of town, and about 30 minutes to devote to a workout ;) x(

Jennifer - I know exactly what you mean by the NASCAR run -- lol! My Johnny does the same thing, but his run includes our bed. He runs into our bedroom -- varooooom -- jumps up on one side of the bed, runs across the bed and jumps off on the other side. This is part of his alarm clock behavior if we oversleep and don't get up to feed him.

Hello to Jennie, Robin, Shelley, Dana, Diane, Terri (if you're lurking), Jana, and all the other part-time Haters:p

August - Awww for Cham. I'm glad it was not more serious. Michele gaves some good instructions on giving the pills. It always breaks my heart though when I do it.

Jen - I totally feel you on the sleep issues. I haven't been sleeping well either. Maybe trying not working out at night - sometimes that can interfere with your sleep. Most of the time I have trouble sleeping when I have a lot on my mind (either excited about something or nervous).

Not much going on here. I have been going on walks in the morning, hopefully I can walk this baby out!

Hey Diane- When is your due date again?

Where is Dana, did she say she'd be away this week?

Jennie- What day in May is your b-day? I noticed on the age thread that you are 30 and your b-day is in May. Me too- May 13, I was born on a Friday the 13th.

I did Shape It Up this morning and have only talked myself into the floor work of B&G, I'd like to do BM2 upper body but not sure i have the strength, I am so tired. Not sure what I'm doing tonight- I know Chad wants me to either come there or come here, trying to decide which sounds better to me- go there, let him feed me and then come home when I want or shower put my PJs on and have him come here... not sure yet- too tired to care really.

I hate having back to back colds!!!! No work out. I felt progressively worse as the day wore on and was way to wiped out to work out.

August, be cafeful Cham doesn't make Mooch walk the plank.

Michele, I gave in and ordered the BBC workouts too. Please don't tell my DH. I'm supposed to be holding off from buying stuff and have ordered BBC and preordered one of Tracey's since given that edict.

Diane, don't forget, most first babies are late! Keep on walking.

Jenn, have fun with Chad. Hope you feel better tomorrow.

We are headed to VT tomorrow to help my sister empty out my mom's house. I probably won't get any workouts done over the weekend. I have to take my MIL to the doctor on Monday. She has not gotten over her cold and her short term memory is going fast! So probably no workout then either.:(

I probably won't see you until Sunday at the earliest. Have a great weekend.

Robin - my gosh, we need to find some treatment for that blasted cold of yours! How about a hot port toddy:D . You know I'm not a drinker, but when I have a cold &/or a sore throat this really hits the spot for me. I don't remember exactly how to make it, but it has a little hot tea, port, lemon, sugar, cinnamon, and clove. You heat it up and it makes you feel all warm and toasty inside -- and you sleep really well;)

I hope your weekend goes smoothly. Jeez, I wish you didn't have to go to VT when you're feeling so rotten. If it's any consolation to you, you probably need a rest from working out anyway -- especially when you're not feeling well -- but you'll be getting a workout just by cleaning out your mom's house.

Diane - I agree with Robin that you'll deliver later than your estimated due date. I'm sorry you're not sleeping well. I agree that working out in the evening will keep you awake -- at least it does me and I have a ton of experience here, being the procrastinator that I am;) :p

Jen - What'd you decide to do tonight. Man, Chad is HOT for you -- HOT!}( :D :7

ETA - Robin, I pre-ordered one of Tracey's workouts, too...and one of Amy's  . I still have workouts that I've never taken out of the wrappers   . In all fairness, I didn't buy BBC for myself -- I bought it for DH and by golly he better use it! He looks terrible -- really terrible;( . He's tired, run down, overweight, and he doesn't get any exercise at all. I'm trying to make it as easy as possible for him to get a good workout, in as little time as possible, in the privacy of our home. Wish me luck and I'd appreciate a little prayer for him. I worry so about his well being;) :-(
