HATE - Sept 18

August

Cathlete
Hi!

I'm so sorry to not have gotten online yesterday. There are still four more grueling hours until we can go pick up Chami and Lulu. http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/sigh.gif

But I'm happy to say that Mooch and Yoyo did a great job with their surgeries and are back at home resting. http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/yay.gif

When we went to pick up Mooch and Yoyo at the vet's yesterday, man almighty were they yelping and trying like mad to get out of their carriers! I'd never seen them like that. They were still a little high from the medicines, but not high enough to let us know that they were absolutely NOT going to wear those e-collars. Mooch was doing some scary somersaults in the carrier. We had the vet take them off since they really seemed to rather hurt themselves rather than to uh, look foolish.

http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/viking2.gif

When we got home, Mooch had gotten over his anger and was then crying and staggering and wanting very much to be touched and caressed, and I was all but too happy to do that for him. He was purring so loudly, and he was obviously so relieved to be home.

I fed him and he ate like a monster. Then I just caressed him and made him feel comfy and lathered him in attention and love. He wouldn't let me go more than a foot away from him without kind of freaking out.

So we just relaxed on the sofa together.....until the medicine wore off. And then Mooch was ready to lick. Of course every time he tried to lick, I'd have to prevent him from it. He was getting pretty annoyed. It was the first time I think he was getting angry at me. He'd try to lick. I'd stop him. He'd move away and try to lick again. I'd stop him again. This went on and on, and he wouldn't be meowing or growling, but each time I'd prevent him from licking, he'd let out a loud but teeny tiny little Frankenstein's monster voice "Urgggghhh!"

This went on for quite some time.

It's a good thing I live in Japan because it escalated to the point with me yelling out, "Don't lick your balls! I said don't lick your balls! If you lick you balls, I'm going to put that e-collar back on you, young man!" http://bestsmileys.com/angry1/19.gif

Unfortunately he would not stop and I got worried, so I had to force Mooch back into his e-collar.......for about the three seconds it took him to run madly through my apartment to tear it off LOL. http://bestsmileys.com/doh/1.gif

Clever nut.

But I think he got the idea and things calmed down after that. And he went back to being such a love bug. http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/heartsmile.gif I actually started writing this post yesterday, but I'd pet Mooch, and then type, and whenever I'd start typing, I'd look at Mooch and he'd have one eye open and looking at me LOL! So I ended up not really doing anything but petting him and making him feel good.

Now he's much better, except that he misses Cham terribly and has been whimpering and searching for her. (So have I, LOL.)

Anyway, I'll be back later to tell you how Cham is doing.

I'm.....I'm sleepy but doing all right. Thanks so much for asking!

http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/balloony.gif

JEN - Yay! You slept through the night! YAYAYA! I do think it's good that you got yourself off of taking a sleeping pill.

>Remind me tomorrow or today your time, I think you are back today to reply to your questions about "the twins"!!! I didn't want to reply Fri night or Sat since you'd be gone, not too personal of a question at all, I don't try to hide it or care if people know, I like them so that's all that matters!

Sorry for the delay, and thank you for your response! And in that case, I've got lots of questions! LOL. But don't answer any that you don't want to.

That's great that you got your twins and love them. Did it take you a long time to decide to go for it? Had you had a friend who did it that inspired you? Have you had any trouble with them at all? Is it true that you have to have the surgery again in a number of years?

>then maybe run by Chad's for a while-haven't told him yes or no yet... still thinking.

What? What? What did I miss here?

>Chad called & I told him I was too tired to move from my chair to drive (although it is literally 2 min)

LMAO!!!

>Anyway, got a nice relaxing back rub so hoping that will help me sleep, we'll see.

YES!

>he asked if he could come by my place for a few, said he missed me- whatever!

Oh my.... http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/goodsigh2.gif

SHELLEY - Thanks for the well-wishes on the squirrels! How did the hair cutting go?

>I had one of those last night too!

http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/goodsigh2.gif

JENNIE - You have trouble sleeping period, or you have trouble sleeping at night? Are you the type who can take naps?

Up until last year, I could never take naps. But I've surprised myself and have really gotten good at them.

JENNIFER -

>I will be on the other side of my dept. so she will be able to avoid me till the rent is due.

LOL. I'm glad to hear things went well with that. What did she decide to do?

Anyway, I'm glad you had a good vacation, and that the cats were able to get a good dose of you. And congrats for starting off on a healthier eating plan!

I'm so sorry to hear about your former co-worker. What a terrible shock.

ROBIN -

>Chad may be right suggesting overtraining. Of course, I probably undertrain.

LMAO!

>I just finished two batches of grape jelly and an going to go lift.

Love that sentence.

DIANE - Oh wow, great photo! You look fabulous! And yeah, last late work night! YAY!

MICHELE - What a wonderful weekend it sounds you had!

>PUMP -- and I'll run through it 2 or 3 times

Wha,..what does that mean, you'll run through it 2 or 3 times?!

>From now on whenever I see "CC" with a negative comment, I know they're really talking about Kimberly Spreen

ROTFLMAO!!!

Thanks so much for your well wishes!

Okay. I'm going to take a nap and then get ready to go pick up Cham.

Biiiiiig hugs to you all! Thanks for the support!

Augie's here -- YEA!!!

I was just checking in one last time before going to bed to see if there was a squirrel report and I'm so glad I did. :)

Oh yeah, those Elizabethan collars are just awful -- LMAO! I remember my squirrels having to wear them -- and my bunnies (wiener dogs), too. The bunnies were worse than the squirrels:eek:

>man almighty were they yelping and trying like mad to get out of their carriers!

My Johnny does that every time I take him somewhere in the car. I have to go through this whole rigamarole to get him into his carrier because he associates it with the car...or the vet... or both http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/twister3.gif

>Wha,..what does that mean, you'll run through it 2 or 3 times?!

PUMP is a full body circuit workout and I was planning to do it 2 or 3 times. I didn't do it because my arm was not cooperating today. I think DH is setting me up with an orthopedist.

I better get to bed. DH called about 10:30 to say he was getting ready to come home, then he called back because he got paged when he was about 1/2 way home and needed to turn around and go back to the horsepistol. Needless to say he's not coming home tonight :-( .

I'm sending lots of vibes and prayers Chammi's way, with some extra for you and Mooch, and your mom and her squirrel's, too http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/loveshower.gif

G'night:*

Well, Haters, it's about 2AM EST here where I'm at. I can't sleep, too much on my mind. The weatherman was wrong, what a shocker, and so I didn't walk last night and was wiped out when I got home, more emotionally than anything else.
My friend and former co-worker that passed, her older sister died a few years earlier from the same thing. I now remember a conversation talking to Tammy about it and wondering if it would happen to her. Back then, she understood her possibilities of it but had peace about it. GOD clearly had a plan for her and she fulfilled it.
My co worker/renter hasn't told me yet on what she plans to do. We discussed more on how our physicians are viewing our new health plan and what my doctor did this past week for me.
Life is crazy. Taking one day at a time this week.

JENNIFER - It is really Sleepless in Hatesville, isn't it. I'm wishing you good sleep vibes. How awful about your friend and her sister having passed the same way years back. Wow. That's really awful. I'm so sorry to hear about that.

MICHELE - LOL about Johnny and his reaction to his carrier. I was just now putting together my carrier so I can bring Cham home, and the nut Mooch jumped into it!! I was fairly shocked LOL.

I can't imagine your bunnies had a harder time than your squirrels with those E-collars. Man, I wonder how Cham will be about it.

Urgh. I'm sorry to hear that your elbow is STILL giving you trouble. That is really awful and must be stopped immediately.

This time the king demands it.

http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/king.gif

I'm sorry to hear that your DH was called back to work. I know you sleep better when he's in bed with you. I'll be sending good sleep vibes.

And thank you for the warm vibes!

NEWS FLASH!!!

The second Tokyo location for Krispy Kreme has been announced! It's kind of sort of near where I get my hair done!!!!!!!! http://bestsmileys.com/fainting/1.gif

http://bestsmileys.com/hyper/6.gif http://bestsmileys.com/hyper/6.gif http://bestsmileys.com/hyper/6.gif

Okay, I'm off to get Cham!

Morning haters. I was awake at 2, due to a screaming baby, but didn't have to energy to get out of bed and see if August was here! I'm just posting quickly before heading to work.

August, I hope the girls are OK. They will probably be groggier then the boys were.

Michele, I hope the orthopedist helps. Hugs to your poor tired DH.

Jennifer, {{{HUGS}}}

Gotta run. I hope to do PLB this afternoon, after a gazillion errands and a workday from H E Double Hockey Sticks. Bye.

We're HOME!

I'm so happy to have the squirrels back home, and we're so happy to be home together!

http://bestsmileys.com/happy/2.gif

Everybody's surgeries were a success with no problem.

Except something small..........http://bestsmileys.com/sick/4.gif Why is there always an "except" and why does it make you feel like http://bestsmileys.com/sick/4.gif the moment the doctor says that dang word?

Apparently Chami HATED her E-collar (no kidding). Lulu and Yoyo didn't like them either, but they didn't have as much trouble with them as Mooch and Cham. Well, anyway, Chami was desperate to take the darn thing off, so they took it off and watched her a while, but she wanted to lick her tummy, so they ended up putting it back on her. But she was determined to get the collar off....and she ended up getting her nail stuck in the towel they had beneath her, and the nail got pulled out.

Of course my first response was, "There wasn't anybody watching?!"

The doctor told me it was something that happened very quickly and though there was 24-hour care.........though...I can't imagine ripping a nail out happening that quickly....or quietly.

http://bestsmileys.com/crying/6.gif

Just the thought of it makes me..........I'm trying not to think too deeply about it.

Anyway, my squirrels are on the sofa with me sleeping and being my little love bugs.

Thanks everyone for the warm wishes!

And now we shall recoup with Frasier. :D

ETA : Hi Robin, Hi Shelley!

Robin, the girls spent the night at the hospital so they weren't groggy at all. Just p'ssed. :p Mooch is pretty much back to normal, and aside from Cham's limp ( :-( ) she can totally jump up on to the sofa, my bed and up the cat tower to the top, much to my horror LOL.

Hi everyone -

I still haven't finished my coffee this morning so I am kinda out of it. I was at work until 1 am last night, but it was my last late night ever! (well, hopefully). Of course everything that could go wrong did and it was aweful, but I was able to train the person who is replacing me on this case while I am gone for all the possible contingencies.

Today I have a doctor's appointment at 1, so I am just not going into work and will be running some errands this morning then working from home in the afternoon.

August -

>The second Tokyo location for Krispy Kreme has been announced! It's kind >of sort of near where I get my hair done!!!!!!!!

YEA!!!!!

>It is really Sleepless in Hatesville, isn't it.

Yes, we couldn't sleep what with all the fretting and worrying about you and your squirrels:p ;)

>I'm so happy to have the squirrels back home, and we're so happy to be home together!

Yea!! http://bestsmileys.com/cats2/1.gif http://bestsmileys.com/cats2/1.gif

>But she was determined to get the collar off....and she ended up getting her nail stuck in the towel they had beneath her, and the nail got pulled out.

 ...but having worked for a vet, I have seen this happen before. They put towels in the cages as a comfort measure and sometimes those little nails can get caught. Poor Cham http://bestsmileys.com/comfort/4.gif I hope it doesn't hurt too much:*

>Mooch is pretty much back to normal, and aside from Cham's limp ( ) she can totally jump up on to the sofa, my bed and up the cat tower to the top, much to my horror LOL.

Augie -- maybe you should try to separate them so they're not tempted to play. I just worry that they'll tear open their incisions and then they'll need another surgery -- I've seen it happen;). It is hard to do, though, so it's a good thing you took the week off :p . I remember how hard it was when my Johnny had bladder surgery and I brought him home to another cat and 2 dogs who wanted to rough house:eek: . I had to keep Johnny in a room by himself for a few days.

Jennifer and Robin - I'm glad I wasn't the only one who had trouble sleeping last night. I laid in bed and read for quite awhile before I finally drifted off and then I overslept x( . Johnny was none to pleased about that and began knocking everything off our nightstands and biting me http://bestsmileys.com/cats2/2.gif

Robin, I hope little Greyor sleeps through the night tonight.

Shelley - Morning!!! http://bestsmileys.com/sun/4.gif

I'm signing off for now. I have to do my workout and then run a bunch of errands. I'll BBL to see if anyone is around.

Hello to the rest a youse http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/wavesmile.gif

ETA Hi Diane!! What a relief it must be to know you never have to work another late night;) . How's your BP been lately?

I have one second to say hi!

Aug - glad your kitties are home safe and sound.

Diane - saw the pic you posted and you look fab.

Hey to everyone else. Talk to you all later!

I'm taking a break from Frasier.

DIANE - Yay on your last late work day! (Probably, that is.)

DANA - Stop all that working. It's making some of us look bad LOL.

MICHELE -

>Yes, we couldn't sleep what with all the fretting and worrying about you and your squirrels

Awwww, you silly. http://planetsmilies.net/happy-smiley-17168.gif

>...but having worked for a vet, I have seen this happen before.

I'm kind of glad to read that because I couldn't believe that would happen. All right. I won't be as mad at the vet then. Cham doesn't have a problem getting around, though sometimes she's limping and sometimes she'll shake her foot like it smarts, but it seems to be all right.

Oh hey, by the way, remember the 300 pops per squirrel I paid for "tests"? Apparently they were part of the huge fee for the surgery, so psychologically I saved a bunch LOL.

>maybe you should try to separate them so they're not tempted to play.

I hear ya........unfortunately my main room holds their water and litter box, and the other one room I have...doesn't LOL. I think things are all right though. Mooch was being a major spaz - probably because he was so super happy to have Cham home, but Cham just watched him calmly. Now they're both fast asleep.

Oh poor Johnny having to go through a bladder surgery. That must have been awful. I know I'm absolutely thrilled to pieces when my squirrels do #1 and #2, so I can only imagine how awful it must have been to have to deal with a bladder surgery.

Tonight Mooch and Cham both were able to do #2 (sorry breakfast eaters LOL). I was totally floored. Who'd have known one could get so much pleasure from...that.

Okay, back to my....work, heh!

Have a great workout!

Hello Hatersville.

Thank GOD, I made it through today although half asleep. My cats are sorta getting used to me back at work. They're greeting me at the door now.

Diane-So, when you have your baby, does this mean we're all Aunts?
So, there is Aunt Jennie, Aunt Jen, and Aunt Jennifer to remember.

Is it Friday yet?

Good evening- my allergies/sinuses are acting up again tonight. I was sneezing and blowing my nose through my whole workout and I still want to do BM2 upper body. I did KPC/L&G premix tonight- 60 min one but added a few things... still trying to convince myself to do upper body but had to take a break as my head feels like it could pop!

August- So glad to hear the squirrels are home & the event is behind them! I am so sorry to hear about Cham's nail- that is terrible! I've never been able to declaw a cat, they say it's similiar to yanking out a person's finger nails & I wouldn't wish that on anyone!

Yeah, I am glad too about the sleeping pill- not something I want to have to take to sleep for the rest of my life so just need to figure it out on my own! About Chad- yeah, we've been hanging out quite a bit in the last couple weeks- we have a lot in common and hanging out just seems easy, you'd think we've known each other longer, strange. He calls daily-actually sometimes twice or calls once and then will text me in the mornings...

About the twins- I've had them for 2 years now- labor day weekend was when I had surgery two years ago. I had thought about it kind of not seriously for a while then called the doctor and set up a consultation and after that it moved very quickly- decided to do it and had it scheduled for about a month after that! I know 4 people that have had them that I talked to about it before but only one of them before I had decided-they were all very happy with it and one of them had went to the same person I did.

I haven't had any trouble at all- doing chest flys has taken a long time to build back up to and I don't do them too often, I'll sub chest presses- push up, dips, etc... don't bother me at all but it's funny when doing them you can see the muscle "deflate" the implant and get smaller when I only have a sports bra on! Sometimes you do need to have them replaced about like 10-15 years but just depends-the one girl I know that had them done has had her for 12 years and they still look good and she's had no problems at all.

The only "issue" I'd say I had and would suggest others to stop doing this a few months prior to surgery is working your chest too much and having your muscle too strong! Mine are under the muscle so basically they tear the muscle away from your body to insert the implant under it. I was in SO much pain about 4 hours after surgery they increased my med to extra strength vicidan - taking 3 every 4 hours and I did that for about 3-4 days and couldn't really move much for a few days- without my mom's help for 3 days I couldn't get out of the chair! The day after when I went in to have the bandages taken off my doctor said- "do you want to know why you are in so much pain?" She said most women's muscle she can lift w/ one finger but mine she had to use four and really "tear" it away to get the implant under it b/c I work out so much... so basically saying it's my own fault, lol!

I am very happy I did it though and would do it again in a heartbeat!

Okay, wow, that was long!!! I am going to go do BM2 upper body then shower and I'll probably BBL if any haters are around...

Hello to everyone else!

Hello Again.

More alert this time.

August-Hope your babies are doing better. Is there such a thing as a great Vet visit? My boys did well in the declaw, neuter part. Madrid was so sick when he came home two years ago from URI that the Vet just looks at him in disbelief on how good he looks now. Yeah, he nail would hurt.

Hope to get some real sleep tonight. I just went for a walk and watered my Lillies.

Elvis is on tonight, I will watch it. I actually watched most of a Nascar race on Sunday, not my kind of sport. Scary thing.

Good Night and Have a Great Evening.
