HATE - Sept 12

August

Cathlete
Good morning!

There's a typhoon http://bestsmileys.com/storms/7.gif over here and what better way to spend a jungle-rainy day than in the comforts of your home in your summer home-wear! I found a great way to let the squirrels look out the window, so they spent some time watching the rain pour down, and now they are napping on opposite sides of the sofa with me in between.

http://bestsmileys.com/cats1/22.gif http://bestsmileys.com/lazy/1.gif http://bestsmileys.com/cats1/22.gif

Mooch has picked up a cute habit. I say cute only because I'm one of the lucky who doesn't have to be up at a certain hour.....

I'll be sleeping when suddenly I'm woken by a little squeaking. It's almost a cute tiny ru-ru-ru-ru? And I'll wake up to find that Mooch has brought over a toy and rested it up against my body and is asking to for me to play with him. I'm half-asleep and totally out of it, but am awake enough to know that it is just the cutest thing evahhh, and I can't help but to take the toy and waive it around a little.

(Yes, I know this is training him to continue to do it more but I only understand this when I'm in my awake state of mind. In the middle of the night, my brain can only register : Cute. Play toy.

Then before I know it, he plops his body down right at my face. It's really cute because he literally does a mini-dive plop, and he ends up in a little ball with the top of his head down and his chin up, right up against my face.

So I woke up at 11am.

SHELLEY - Oh gawd, you're doing the P90X nutrition plan? SCARY! How is it going? So dairy and fruit isn't considered a carb in the plan? I'm thinking it must be a starchy carb that you can only have one of in a day at first. Ewww.

>I guess it's tuna for lunch. I'm sure August's squirrels would be thrilled

They said they'd like to come over for dinner. And they're very glad to hear you're doing better.

DANA - Good for you and your exercise consistency. It sounds like we're all getting back on track here in Hatesville (which doesn't include the lot of you who were always on track, of course!). It's funny that we're all starting to be more aware of our eating and exercise at the END of summer.

That's awful about Gabe and his migraines. That must really concern you. Do migraines run in your family? I almost never get headaches, so I can hardly imagine how awful that must be. I'm glad to hear that he has an appointment to see a doctor, and hope they'll be able to tell you something helpful.

MICHELE - I love how the link for Classical Stretch brings you to something that says RETREATS AND GETAWAYS! LOL. It does look relaxing.

How frustrating not to be able to do your weight workouts especially being that you are so gusto to do them right now. Will you be able to get your extra wrist splint soon?

The neuter is half the price of the spay. What a bargain LOL. The girls will spend the night and apparently we get charged for two days (each) since we pick them up in the early evening. Ay ay ay ay ayy! Well, it's just once so....I'm sure I'll forget about the payment in a week or so.

>the term "carbs" is used so loosely anymore that I'm never totally sure what it means. Is this like a bread/pasta/potato restriction?

Oh yeah. Here we go saying the same things again. http://bestsmileys.com/lol/10.gif

>wieners are as cute as they come and they really know how to tug at your heart strings, but know this...they are the spawn of Satan.

LMAO!

JENNIFER - Ah yeah, if the agreement was for only 6 months, I think it's very fair for you to raise the price. Maybe it will even be the inspiration she needs to get her butt in gear.

David, woo hoo! You'll be seeing him this weekend? Don't worry, we won't pry.

http://bestsmileys.com/thinking/5.gif

BMI SCHMY. Michele is right. Don't go by that BMI chart.

JENNIE - That's great news about Chris and his asking you out again! Woo hoo! Are your plans for this weekend? Don't worry, we won't pry.

http://bestsmileys.com/thinking/5.gif

ROBIN -

>I hate this not being able to check in until after work.

Tell us about it! We hate it, too!

>Tell the squirrels they need to find a job with health insurance.

Come to think of it, I could use one of those, too LOL.

JENNIFER - Woo hooo! I'm so glad to hear Chad's dinner was a success! And such a healthy meal, too. Total weight-lifter's meal, eh? And I'm glad to hear you ate it.

>My cats are driving me NUTS!

LOL.

>So exactly how much more expensive is Japan than the US, like double?

Actually, I've no idea how much the procedures cost in America, so I don't even know. Roughly speaking, one spay where I am doing it in Tokyo will cost approximately $1,000. The neuter is half that price.

Wow, you don't like sitting still for long periods of time to slug out and watch movies and television? I didn't know that type of person existed LOL.

>What kind of cereal is on your dinner plate?

LMAO! That's kind of cute.

Okay. I'm off to do some Winsor buns and legs, and then a Cathe stretch because yesterday's abs made my sides toasty to the mosty!

Have a good one! :D

Goodmorning August. I think we had a mini typhoon yesterday. It was pouring and when a couple people got into work, they were wet up to their waists. Someone said it was like driving through a waterfall. Today is supposed to be sunny and cooler. I think fall may be on the way. $1,000 for a spaying?!!? Yikes, I haven't had a cat spayed in years, but I know it doesn't cost anything near that.

OK all you Jennifers. I'm having a really hard time keeping your romances straight. Jenn is dating Chad who lives nearby? Jennifer in MI is dating David from a computer match? JennyR is dating Chris? Is that all right? Any Jennifers I missed?

I would love to write nice long personals for everyone else, but I'm about out of time. I have to head to work and Bevdemort. I'm hoping to come home and tackle DrillMax. See you all later.

Hello Robin and August.

My cats go to the Vet in less than 2 hours, then it will be Hatersville from here on out.

David and I aren't dating YET. Thinking positive.

BMI-Thank GOD, I passed or my insurance would dictate to my doctor on my further treatment.

It's just cold here. Thursday is painting day cause it will be warm out.

Later today, it's MM for me. Not ready to tackle last year's series yet. I think I did B&G as my last workout in May/June, really rough.
Love the new ones coming.

BBL.

Morning all...

Well, I had to modify the P90X plan a wee bit yesterday and add some extra carbs (yes, the starchy/bready/cerealy kind, for those who asked). I figure if I'm also training for a half-marathon, then I need a bit of extra carbs. Right? (Agree with me here, please!)

August - $1000 for a spay! YIKES! That's crazy. I'm pretty sure it costs way less than that here.

Robin - I'm glad you're feeling well enough to do Drillmax!

I have to go back and check yesterday's thread to see what else is going on.

Jennifer - good luck with the vet visit today!

http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/sun.gif Good, lovely, sunny, chilly morning http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/sun.gif

I slept well last night. Kitty has taken to lying on my pillow right next to my head. I like it -- his purring right next to my ear is soothing and I love it.

Todays workout is a circuit and 25 minutes of cardio. I'm going to do a CC for both instead of what I originally planned. I'll let you know if the splint makes any difference.

Eating -- not bad yesterday. I had one teensy leetle slip last night -- DH and I split a cupcake. I'm not going to berate myself for it -- it was such a small treat and very satisfying. I have no idea what my meals will be today.

AUGIE - http://bestsmileys.com/surprised/1.gif

I had to borrow your surprised smilie guy to demonstrate my complete and utter shock at those vet fees!!!!! That is outrageous! OMG, how can anyone afford that? Is the cost of living that much higher in Japan? Are prices high like that across the board? I can't fathom shelling out $500 to neuter a cat. I mean, I could probably just email you with instructions -- LMAO!! It's literally just a little snip and takes all of about a minute to do. Well, they do go under anesthesia, but still -- that's a lot IMHO. I forget -- are the squirrels having surgery today? I'll pray for them -- and you :*

ROBIN - I miss you so much:-( . I feel like I haven't "seen" you in forever. I can't keep up with that <--- thread anymore. One or 2 posts there a day is about all I can manage. I can't keep up and my elbow dictates how much typing and mousing I can do.

I hope things relax a little bit at work so you can get back on the forums during the day. That evil Bevdemort has no right to take you away from us x(

JENNIFER - I'm thinking only positive thoughts about you and David:)

JEN- Ooh, that dinner you had sounds wonderful! My DH likes to cook -- he's a pretty good cook but he totally lays waste to the kitchen in the process ;( . http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/twister2.gif

Oh hey -- I'm LOVING the Harry Potter books. I finished the first one, watched the first movie, and now I'm reading the 2nd book. Who knew HP was such a fun read! I was never interested in it -- I just thought it was a dopey kids book, but man, was I wrong! It's so entertaining! I just love it. I had seen the movies but they never really made much sense to me, probably because I hadn't read the books. The movie was a lot more fun to watch after reading the book. If you need something light and fun to read, this is it. Just know that once you read the 1st book, you'll want to start the next one right away;)

It's to pretty outside to sit at my computer -- I'm going to my favorite little town with all the antique shops. I haven't done that in months and I'm really in the mood for it. I'll BBL:*

Hello to the rest a youse:)

ETA SHELLEY -- Oh yes, I agree with you! And if you're eating good, complex carbs I don't see a problem. Now cookies?...that would be bad -- good -- but bad:p

Michele - just a warning. The books get thicker and much darker as you go along. ;-) They're still brilliant, but of course as the evil Voldemort gets more powerful, so things aren't as light anymore.

Robin - I miss you tooooooo!!!!

I've discovered that starting a spartan eating plan while PMSing is bad.... very bad. People could die.

Hi guys!

ROBIN - Yeah, typhoons can be really cool...if you're inside, or if you're wearing something that you'd like to get drenched.

Bevdemort is kind of fun to say. Bevdemort. It makes me want to sing a Bell, Biv, Devoe song.

JENNIFER - Did you get your guys into their carrier? Do you have wounds?

SHELLEY - You've got total agreement here with your extra carbs. You're training for a marathon?!

MICHELE - Ooh, I love those sunny emoticons! How pretty! And the cyclone, OMG!

That's so sweet that Johnny is sleeping near your face and purring away. Purring really is so soothing.

Splitting a cupcake? That's like half a bite, if that. Totally insignificant compared to the whole day.

>I can't fathom shelling out $500 to neuter a cat. I mean, I could probably just email you with instructions -- LMAO!!

LMAO!!!!!

The surgery is this coming Monday. Thanks for your prayers in advance, especially the ones for me LOL. I come home from out of town on Sunday, then I have work from the evening until 4am, if you can believe it. I will be a MASSIVE wreck on Monday in all possible ways.

However I've arranged to be at home the entire week to recover with everybody LOL.

Ahh, love my job.

Yeah, the vet fees are totally outrageous. And I got the surgery bill estimate after paying for that day's tests and stuff that cost me 300 clams per squirrel, so I was really audibly shocked. I think I may have made the people working there a little uncomfortable. They probably get that from all their foreign clients though LOL.

The cost of living in Tokyo is similar to the cost of living in London if anyone is familiar with that - it's absurdly expensive. Definitely anything you buy is at least twice the amount you'd guess. And other things are just wacky expensive. Apparently vet things are in the wacky category.

Hey, maybe that's why I never go shopping LOL.

Okay, I'm going to take a shower and then pop in some Frasier. Michele, have a fun time at the antique stores. It's been ages since you talked about going!

>I've discovered that starting a spartan eating plan while PMSing is bad.... very bad. People could die.

OMG, ROTFLMAO!!!!

ETA : I had to come back to say that I could probably find a vet that would charge less...it just happens that my vet is in an expensive part of town. It's the vet where the parents of the squirrels go, and it's where they got all their boosters. But I would imagine any Japanese person would find those prices outrageous.

I...I need to clarify something. That 1/2 of a cupcake I told you about -- well -- it was 1/2 of a BIG cupcake}( , so it was probably about the size of a regular cupcake http://bestsmileys.com/biting/1.gif

I think we need to take turns feeding Shelley:p

Shelley - thanks for the heads up about the HP books. I guess they would have to grow more dark and menacing in order to hold your attention. I just can't believe how much I like these books! It's a wonderful surprise:D

More cute smilies http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys_people.html

Frasier -- Ooh I loved that show. I see you bought some episodes of Monk, too. That is one of my all time favorite shows. OMG it makes me lol! Enjoy!

Augie, I figure you need the prayers more than your squirrels do http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/consoling2.gif

Just know that they might be a little loopy for a day or two and that's normal after a surgery -- especially Cham because a spay is obviously a much bigger surgery and requires more anesthesia. More anesthesia = more loopy. http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/grouphugg.gif

Okay, I'm off to do a little antique perusing -- no buying -- just looking. I need to get in shape for the big antique shows coming up in October:p

Edited to correct egregious typos:eek:

Hello Haters.

It's been Hatesville since I've been home (only 20 minutes) and stopped 3 cat fights already.

Madrid-Went postal in his carrier. Got to the Vet, remembered the Vet, and had fun. He didn't want to go home. He remembers being there when he was real sick two years ago. He did great!

Seville-Alpha Cat-He didn't go postal in his carrier. He hated the clinic, although he put up with the Vet.. He wasn't there that much 2 years ago. When giving him the shot, a blood vessel broke so that added to his pain. He is slowly coming around.

The great news is that the Vet thought they looked perfect, in her words. Coat, hair, eyes, teeth, and back ends all checked out plus their weights. Madrid is a 10 pounds,at 4 last year. Seville is at 13.90 (bigger cat and very muscular).

Quiet ride on the way home. The car's engine didn't bother them too much.

Thanks for the positive men vibes.

Hey haters.

Michele - those Halloween pics are great. I replied that the first one looks like Ralphie. Too funny. Good Lord there sure looks like there is a lot of cardio in the new DVD's, huh?

Robin - what the heck does the b word mean????? I guess I missed the whole story. I'm assuming it was a co-worker/supervisor that used to work with you that is now back. Sorry if that is the case. She came back like bad money.

August - that is totally insane about the vet bills. Seriously. I am planning on getting Ralphie neutered and microchipped and if I do it before he reaches 50 lbs it will be about $225. Ya know what you should've done, snuck them to the states with your mom when she was visiting. It probably would've cost you less then $1000 to get all four done.

Jennie - I can't keep track of all the Jennifer's either. You're going out with Chris again, right? Have a great time!

Jen - I'm not of a movie goer either. Most of the movies now are less then 90 minutes so they aren't that bad to sit though. There is nothing worse that having to sit through a bad movie. I'm sure you guys can find something fun to do.

JT - glad to hear that your kitties got a clean bill of health!

Shelley - are you really training for a 1/2 marathon? Kudos to you. Wait - did you say that you are pmsing????? That means I should be soon too. Drats!!!

I did really well with my WW yesterday and so far been doing good today. Yesterday's workout was a 3-mile walk and PS back/biceps/abs. Tonight I have to take Gabe to CCD so I think my total workout today will just be walking 4 miles. I did 2 at lunch and will do 2 tonight. I want to take Gannon to the playground and it is a one mile walk each way. It is so nice out - feels like fall is in the air. I LOVE the fall.

Well, I better get back to work. Talk to you all later. :*

Dana - yup, I'm REALLY training for a half-marathon:) And yes, I have PMS. Did you hear that August? You should be blessed soon too, since your cycle seems close to mine! Yay! A bunch of PMS-haters! How fun!

}(

Good Luck, Shelley, for the marathon.

My cats are back to normal, well, their normal.

Loving my vacation so far. one more doc's appt for me on Fri. Mammogram and blood work. Thursday is paint day and Grand Haven.

Hiya ladies,

I've been so exhausted today. I was tired all day at work, then I came home and slept for an hour and a half. I'm not sure if I'm getting sick or what. Needless to say I didn't work out. I can barely pull myself off the couch. I hope I feel better tomorrow.

I'll catch up with ya'll tomorrow.

Jennie

Jennie.

Hope you're not coming down with something. Apparently, here, there is a viral infection going around that problably hits with a fever.
It's good you didn't workout feeling the way you do, it's not worth getting injured over.
Get some rest, drink fluids, and give us an update in the AM.

Hiya!

I did my workout with the splint and it made a huge difference. I was able to get through most of it. It's impossible to do push ups and I still can't do sitting/standing triceps extensions, so I subbed with chest presses and lying triceps extensions. I had to use light weights, too ;). Now I just have to wait and see if I have any serious negative after effects, like pain -- lol! It's been so long since I've done a weight workout that I'm shaking.

It's almost 10PM and I still haven't had dinner;( . I'm going to eat, shower, and hit the sack with my book.

Shelley, whens your 1/2 marathon? Is this the one you're doing for breast cancer? I have confidence that you'll do very well:)

Jennie - I hope you're feeling better by tomorrow. You were wise to skip the workout, especially if you have respiratory symptoms;)

Jennifer - I'm glad you're enjoying your vacation :D

G'night everyone.:*

ETA Dana - it sounds like you're getting back on track with your eating and exercise, too. YEA!!! I love fall, too.

Terri - if you're lurking -- join us in spirit anyway. You can post anytime you want, as much or as little as you want:) . If Dana and I can get back on track you can too, I mean, Dana and I really do hate this stuff -- LMAO!;)

Evening haters... I am telling you, Chad is taking up an awful lot of my time! I ended up working out tonight- not a "real workout" but did 30 min bun shaper from beachbody, then buns of steal outer thigh work, and BM2 upper body twice. I don't think i mentioned that I told my sis about 2 1/2 weeks ago that I want to see how big I can get my biceps. :D I tend to gain muscle in my upper body very easily also, with biceps being the easiest for me. So, I'm hitting BM2 upper body a lot for 3-4 weeks then will go to something else but I love the music in that so makes it go by quick. I have been using 20lbs for shoulders & biceps, 15 for everything else Cathe uses them for w/ the exception of chest flys- with my implants I have to be careful w/ flys as they hurt sometimes. I am up to 12lbs though so working my way up! I then use 8lbs when she uses 5 for everything else, Diana already noticed Sunday they are bigger than last weekend! }(

Anywho, after working out and doing a few things around here I ran over to his house about 7:30 and got home about 30 min ago and now am getting ready to go to bed. He offered to fix me dinner again but I passed- he had salmon, green beans, sweet pot and salad. I had a protein bar! :p

August- I can't believe that vet bill, holy crap!! How is the weather over there? I haven't had the TV on much- I usually have on fox news or msnbc though so I'll turn it on when I get in bed to see what they are saying.

Michele- I agree w/ you... TERRI, stop in and say hey even if you don't have time to post, we miss you!

Robin, Shelley, Dana, Diane, Jennie, Jennifer - I hope you all had wonderful day today, I will BB tomorrow night & promise to be a better hater and do better personals. :) NIGHT!
