Cathlete
Chami is FREE!

http://bestsmileys.com/jail/2.gif

And she looks to be in heaven sitting and licking her leg http://bestsmileys.com/licking/2.gif on and on and on! She stretches out her tosies really wide and gnaws in between a bunch, and then she licks up and down, up and down her little leggy, like it's just about the best ice cream she ever did eat.

We're all so happy for her! Mooch was so happy, he jumped into a good wrestling session with her. She's got a rather raw-looking sore at the top of her paw from the metal part of the cast that cut into it, but it must feel soooo better to have that dang thing off.

What a journey!

I'm so glad I can be home today and tomorrow to watch her and help her get back to her normal routine. Then I'm away Sunday and Monday (Monday's a holiday here).

JENNIFER - Now that Chami is free from her dungeon cast, I'm sure there will be better stories, and Mooch is so happy about that. He has been kind of blue since Cham got hurt, and he was spazzing out today when she got home cast-free LOL.

MICHELE - How are your teeth? Was it just for a cleaning?

Oh yes, I know Royal Canin! That's supposed to be good stuff. And I've heard about serving pureed pumpkin. It's good for the patooty. That's great that he loves it.

My guys are eating wet in the morning and night, and dry during the afternoon. They love both and have never been fussy about anything. They love to smell the foods I'm eating, but they're never that interested to actually eat them. I guess that means I'm not eating very yummy things LOL.

JEN - Do you think your ex hangs out because he wants to be friends? Or is that a stupid question? I'm a believer of guy friends, and I like to believe in friendships with exs. Does that seem like what he's pursuing? Does it bug Chad? And more important than that, does it bug you that it bugs Chad? http://bestsmileys.com/listening/1.gif nudge nudge

Anyway, he's feeding you such yummy things, you lucky, lucky dog.

DANA - Hi, you!

ROBIN - Hey, you, too!

And hey out to the rest of yous!

All right. I've actually got work to do, and since the squirrels are now both napping, it's a good time to start.

You all have a gorgeous day and chat with you soon! :D

Hey you back, August. I'm glad Cham is soooo happy with her new found leg. It's sounds yummy.

Michele, how's the grass? How're the teeth? How's the elbow?

Shelley, what are you and your company doing today?

Dana, I repeat - We HAVE to get together!!!! We are going to Warrior Run Saturday for Heritage Days. Do you ever go to that? Mmmmmm, chicken corn soup for lunch!

Gadzooks, I'm out of time again. Time to get headed to work. Today is a rest day for me. We're headed for beer and wurst at an Oktoberfest this evening. See you later.

Good morning haters! I am up early... but that's okay b/c I slept through the night again last night!!! :) I ended up going to have a drink with Chad & one of his friends about 9 to watch a little of the Cub game... boo! This is one area that Chad & I DON'T agree- he is a Chicago fan- Cubs/Bears/Blackhawks and I am a St. Louis fan- Rams/Cardinals/Blues... I do like the Bulls though, LOL! Illinois is about half/half Chicago/St. Louis fans depending on where you grew up. Springfield is only about 2 hours from St. Louis and is 4 hours from Chicago so I grew up 40 min south of here so brought up liking St. Louis teams- gives us something to 'argue' about! ;-)

August-

>and then she licks up and down, up and down her little leggy, like it's just about the best ice cream she ever did eat.

LMAO!!! I am so glad that Cham is free!!! I bet she is just so happy, she'll probably be loving on you more now that you set her free. Monday is Columbus day here but my work is open, ugh!

>JEN - Do you think your ex hangs out because he wants to be

No, he makes it very well known to me that he wants to get back together- he tells me everytime he calls/e-mails/text me. I try to be nice though b/c we are 'friends' so I don't want to be mean. I am very honest with him though also so he knows that is no chance that I am going to go back to him & I think he does know that but just has to try every once in a while. I don't think it bugs Chad, I have mentioned to him that he still will text/e-mail me about once/week or every other week and he knows we work at the same place but he isn't the type to be bothered by it and I'm honest about it so I think he trusts me.

Michele- Saw you pop in last night, how was dinner and most important what was for dinner??? Yeah I have been eating better, huh? Get this- for b-fast yesterday I had toast (my stomach was upset) and for lunch I had a grilled chicken sandwich... normally don't eat bread but my tummy was still a little upset at noon so thought it would help & it did. I think I took too much sinus medicine on an empty stomach & that is why it was upset.

Robin- Beer & brauts sound good!!! :9

Well, I am going to go get in an hour or 45 min w/o this morning and then do another hour tonight- not sure what I'm doing this morning though so need to get moving, I'll BBL!

Hello Haters.

Happy Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's been a good week for workouts, I think doing DM the other night pushed me into a new level real fast. So far it's been: LM, HSTA, BC, DM, and LM again. Tonight, it s/b ME.

Well, my teams are : MSU, USC for collegiate. NFL-Steelers all the way. Baseball-always will be the Tigers. Pistons for BB.

No good cat stories here today. Seville is always there for me when I workout just like Adrian used to be. No new men stories, David emailed me but I'm going to reply later like he does.

Have a Great Day!!

ROBIN -

>I'm glad Cham is soooo happy with her new found leg. It's sounds yummy.

LMAO. It's kind of a Willy Wonka Leggy of sorts. This afternoon, she was licking it like a delicious ice cream cone. Later on, she was gnawing at it like it was a succulent chicken wing. I mean, she was sinking her teeth in and making snorty grunting noises LOL. It really made me hungry.

JEN - Ooooh, you're meeting The Friends of Chad. How did you like The Friends of Chad? Did you approve?

>gives us something to 'argue' about!

Totally cute.

>I bet she is just so happy, she'll probably be loving on you more now that you set her free.

You know, I felt so privileged - the doctor said that Cham wouldn't allow him to touch her paw....but she allowed me to when we got home. I mostly just gently touched it though. But I was happy she didn't try to take it away from me.

>Monday is Columbus day here but my work is open, ugh!

Is Monday closed for most people?

>No, he makes it very well known to me that he wants to get back together- he tells me everytime he calls/e-mails/text me.

Oh, wow. That must be.......well, you must be totally numb to it by now. I hope he's not the type to freak out if/when he hears about other guys you see.

Tell us he doesn't. Don't make us worry.

It's great to hear, by the way, that you are eating food. It sounds ridiculous, but it really is a relief to read that.

JENNIFER - That is so great to hear how well your workouts are going. I might have to pull out my DM. Wow, I haven't done that one in ages. Wait, do I have that one? LOL. Yeah, I do.

Okay. Back to a little more work. BBL!

>JEN - Ooooh, you're meeting The Friends of Chad. How did you
like The Friends of Chad? Did you approve?

So far all his friends I've met are really nice- I met one the 2nd time we went out and then we went to dinner another friend a few weeks ago & then this guy last night- so far all seem normal, lol! I 'think' we are going to a wedding reception tomorrow night so I guess I'll get to meet lots of his friends then, not sure I'm ready for that but whatever! He hasn't met any of my friends besides Jenny, who he already knew!

That will be changing also though on the 28th- a couple I work with is having a Halloween party that night & they & another couple rented out a bar for the night. Anyway, it happened to be the bar we were at last night so I mentioned something to Chad about it & guess we're going... he actually knows the other couple that is hosting it- small world!

>You know, I felt so privileged - the doctor said that Cham
wouldn't allow him to touch her paw....but she allowed me to
when we got home. I mostly just gently touched it though.
But I was happy she didn't try to take it away from me.

How sweet!!! :)

>Is Monday closed for most people?

I'm not sure- I know the state workers & the schools are closed... my mom has off- lucky her! What about in Japan??

>Oh, wow. That must be.......well, you must be totally numb to
it by now. I hope he's not the type to freak out if/when he
hears about other guys you see.
Tell us he doesn't. Don't make us worry.

No, he is normal for the most part and wouldn't ever do anything to hurt me, i've actually told him that I am seeing someone- usually that'll make him back off a little bit for a while at least and stop him from just showing up at my house! So, he knows I'm seeing someone...

>Okay. Back to a little more work. BBL!

Me too, not in the mood to work today so I'll probably pop back in if anyone is around!

Hi ladies!

Thanks for all of your comments over the last few days. I really can't believe I am a mom!! We are doing well and it is really fun getting to know her. DH is just loving being a daddy. Ella is asleep on his chest right now actually. She is a really sweet baby. She only seems to cry when something is wrong (dirty diaper, cold or gas). And once it is fixed she is a happy little baby instantly and will just stare into your eyes and make the cutest faces. And she is a really great sleeper. We actually have to wake her to feed her during the day or else she would sleep to long. And she is really easy to put down - just swaddle her and lay her down awake and she will entertain herself until she falls asleep. I need to download some more pics onto my computer to post but the days always seem to slip away from me. We are having a few issues with breastfeeding now that my milk is in and I am engorged (giving Pamela Anderson a run for her money), but hopefully the issues will resolve soon once the swelling goes down. So I spend most of the day working on that issue it seems. My mom is still here and she made us a wonderful healthy dinner last night. I am looking forward to eating healthy and losing some of this weight and starting Cathe again in a couple months. I am really only supposed to do light walking for the next few weeks, and I might even try our first stroller walk today around the block.

Gooooooood morning!!

Wow, you guys have been chatty this morning. I'm not used to so much activity in Hatertown -- lol! I'm not complaining, mind you, just surprised, but in a good way :) :) :)

I didn't do my workout yesterday because: a) I was gone all day, and b) I was so friggin sore  . Would somebody please explain to me why people like DOMS -- and even feel depressed if they don't get them? WHY WHY WHY!!! That's just crazy! My ideal would be to workout, get a great looking bod, and never EVER feel pain in the process.

I'm still doing the P90 program which I bought for DH but who hasn't tried it yet x( . He promised me he'd start tomorrow. I haven't gotten tired of Tony yet. He's a total goof ball and he really cracks me up! The production values are crappy -- the set is a blah, dingy gray, and his music sucks, but he has enough personality that I don't mind it. I'm too busy doing the workout to pay attention to anything else. By the way, I'd feel the same way about Cathe if her sets and music were awful. I just like HER and her workouts are unparalleled, IMHO. As per usual, I hate the cardio part. For the cardio, you put 2 pieces of tape on the floor to form a cross and you do all these plyo and kickboxing moves. I hate plyo...I hate kickboxing ;) ;( . I think somebody posted a complete description of his workouts. If I can find it I'll post the link.

If anyone is interested in P90 I'd highly recommend getting it on eBay. It took me about 3 days of bidding war battles but I finally managed to snag it for $26, and I don't' have to worry about the shoddy CS at Beachbody, or that my credit card will be charged multiple times. AND I GOT IT FOR 26 BUCKS!!!!!

August - I think you need to start singing a new song to Chami -- My Girl Lollipop -- lol! I hope her little raw spot heals quickly. Poor Cham has really been through the wringer. I'm sure Mooch will appreciate having a fully functioning playmate. http://bestsmileys.com/cats2/16.gif

What holiday are you celebrating in Japan?

My teeth are fine. I have an autoimmune disease of my gums and I have to have it checked every 6 months. I'm having a little flare up right now but it's no big deal.

Robin - The grass is doing well, the teeth are good, and the elbow is improving s-l-o-w-l-y but surely.

>We're headed for beer and wurst at an Oktoberfest this evening.

http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/free_ger21.gif Oh man, beer and wurst }( :9 . That's like my DH's favorite thing in the world. Well, he doesn't drink beer anymore but he used to and he loved it. We missed Oktoberfest this year. :-(

Jen - I'm very proud of you for eating. I'm sorry about your tummy issues. Bread usually makes my tummy feel better, too.

We went to a great restaurant last night -- one of our favorite places (we have 3 places that we consider special). They serve up gourmet food in a very relaxed environment and we love the wait staff. They know us now and always chit chat with us. One of the waiters is a college student who's graduating in November. He just took the LSAT exam and he's hoping to get into law school next year. DH and I just love this kid. We're trying to decide what to get him for graduation. He's a super nice guy and we've encouraged him to keep in touch with us after he moves on.

Oh hey, I hope your ex doesn't try to foul things up for you and Chad. Ex's that hang on always kind of worry me. I'm not sure I could maintain a functional friendship with an ex. I can see splitting up on good terms and not feeling any animosity, but maintaining a friendship where you talk often and get together would not be doable for me, especially if I was interested in someone else. I probably wouldn't appreciate it if my DH kept in touch with an old flame either. ;)

Jennifer - Wow, you're doing great with your workouts. That should rally help get your cholesterol under control! You go, girl!!

I have no idea who all these teams are. When it comes to sports I'm completely out of the loop -- lol! Well, I love figure skating, but it's not near as exciting for me since Michelle Kwan retired from the sport.

Dana - I hope you're having a really great time at the craft show. You deserve this day off so do it up big time!

Okey dokey - I need to do my workout today, especially since I missed yesterday. This is a 6 day a week rotation so I'll just consider yesterday as my day off. I'll BBL:*

Diane, I'm so happy to hear that everything is going well since you brought Ella home.

>DH is just loving being a daddy. Ella is asleep on his chest right now actually.

Awwwwww, how sweet :+

I love how you talk about Ella and I can just picture her looking into your eyes and making cute faces. I cannot wait for more pictures!

I hope you're getting some good rest. I think a walk around the block with Ella is the perfect thing to do today. I'm so glad your mom is able to be there and help you out.

>I am engorged (giving Pamela Anderson a run for her money)

ROTFLMAO!! Seriously though, I hope your swelling goes down soon and you're feeling more comfortable.

Take care, Diane, and I'll be watching for more pictures :D

Hey Michele- Sounds like you have a few nice places to eat, I love little places like that- the restaurant i used to work at was like that- the dinning room only had 12 tables and everyone that came in for the most part were regulars! I loved working there, we were like a little family!

I don't really have a "friendship" with Tim. He works here so I see him about once/week but besides when he e-mails or texts me I don't have contact with him and when I do reply to him it isn't any lengthy conversation. I typically ask about Zach- his son who i was really close with - he was with us every other weekend so I do miss him. I don't ever hang out with him though or talk to him on the phone, just a reply to e-mail or text message is the most he gets from me. And, if Chad & I keep seeing each other and things get more serious and he has an issue with me even replying to an e-mail I wouldn't continue to do it. I am with you, it's all about respect for the person you are with and contact with an old b-friend isn't worth risking a current relationship!!

I DO NOT WANT TO WORK TODAY!!!!! x( x( x( x(

Hi Jen!

Yeah, this restaurant is really small. It has more than 12 tables, but not many more. We really love it and the food is wonderful! It has the feeling of family that you mentioned.

I found a breakdown of all the exercises in the P90 program. Here the cardio workout:

Power 90 Sweat Cardio 1-2 & 3-4 - (1-2 is the beginner level and 3-4 is supposed to be intermediate)

1. Warm-Up - (I don't do this section. I don't like to stretch cold muscles so I've been doing 10 min of a walking DVD instead)
- Head roll
- Shoulder Circles
- side stretch
- Chest Stretch
- Lower Back Stretch
- Inner Thigh Stretch
- Runners Stretch
- Waist Stretch

2. Round 1 Power Yoga/Stretch - (I don't complete this section. I don't like Yoga and it always makes me giggle)
- Runner’s Pose
- Plank
- Up Dog
- Down Dog
- Raise right leg, swing through to Runner’s Pose
- Repeat b - d
- Raise left leg, swing through to Runner’s Pose
- Repeat b - d

- Right Hook/Left Uppercut
- Body Blows
- Repeat 1X for 1-2, and 2X for 3-4

8. Cool down/stretch

9. Ab Ripper 100 (Phase 1-2), and 200 (Phase 3-4)
- This consists of 10 crunch variations and you do each one 10 times for a total of 100 crunches. (I'm not sure how many sets/reps you have to do in 3-4).

This wraps up the cardio of portion of P90. I haven't actually done 3-4 yet. Supposedly it's the same as 1-2 but longer.

P90 Sculpt 1-2 - (the beginner workout).

It begins with an 8-minute yoga style stretch (again, I don't like to stretch cold muscles so I just do 10 or 15 minutes of a walking DVD), followed by 3 circuits. Each circuit consists of 1 set per exercise per body part. The pace is slow, and you're instructed to choose your own weight and do between 8 and 15 reps of each exercise.

Circuit I:
1. push ups -- hands 6" wider than shoulders (chest)
2. "heavy pants" -- double back row (back)
3. military press (shoulders)
4. "back scratchers" -- single arm french press (triceps)
5. bicep curls (biceps)
6. lunges -- shown without weights (legs)
7. stretch

Circuit II:
1. pushups -- hands 9" wider than shoulders (chest)
2. back flys -- double back row with bent elbows (upper back)
3. "swimmer's press" -- a.k.a. "Arnold presses"; military press with palms rotating at the top of the move (shoulders)
4. open curls -- bicep curls at 45 degree angle (biceps)
5. kickbacks (triceps)
6. lunge/squat combo -- lunge followed by 3 squats; shown without weight (legs)
7. stretch with water break

Circuit III:
1. 7-7-7 push ups -- 7 wide, 7 narrow, 7 widest hand position (chest)
2. "lawnmower" -- single-arm row with a twist at the top of the movement (back)
3. lateral raise (shoulders)
4. chair dips -- straight legs; Tony demonstrates easier variations (triceps)
5. 21's -- bicep curls - 7 half reps at the lower part of your rep, then 7 half reps at the top, then 7 more complete reps
6. 3 part squats -- 8 with feet shoulder width apart, 8 with a wider stance, then 8 plie squats
7. stretch

Sculpt 3-4 is similar except that it has 4 circuits instead of 3 and the exercises are ratcheted up a bit.

I found these breakdowns on the VF forums. They were kind of hard to find because when you do a search you have to sort through a ton of threads about P90X.;)

Here's a recipe I posted in the OD forum. I moved it over here for you guys :* . It looks really good and easy, too. I found it in the current issue of Vegetarian Times magazine but I haven't tried it yet.

Sunset Sweet Potato Drop Biscuits

Makes 12 biscuits

1 cup mashed cooked sweet potatoes (2 small baked sweet potatoes)
3 Tbs. vegetable oil
1 Tbs. maple syrup
1 tsp. apple cider vinegar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup all-purpose or whole wheat pastry flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. ground nutmeg

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Coat baking sheet with cooking spray.

2. Combine sweet potatoes, oil, syrup, vinegar, and salt in large bowl. Sift flour, baking powder, and nutmeg.

3. Cut dry ingredients into sweet potato mixture with fork until mixture comes together. Stir in 2 to 3 TBS. water, or enough to get dough to hold together.

4. Drop golf ball-size rounds of dough onto prepared baking sheet**. Bake 15 to 17 minutes, or until tops are lightly browned and firm to the touch. Serve warm.

**For a more elegant look, roll out the dough and cut with a 2-inch round cutter.

Per biscuit: 91 cal; 1 G prot; 3.5 G total fat; 0.5 G sat fat; 14 G carb; 0 mg chol; 196 mg sod; 1 G fiber; 3 G sugars

I just realized something. I kind of screwed up in my description of the power yoga/stretch segment of Sweat Cardio 1-2 and 3-4 and it's too late to edit my post.x(

Do you see where it says to repeat b and d over and over again? Basically you're repeating that little segment of up and down dog with the runners pose over and over again until you want to scream -- or at least until I want to scream :p . Sorry about that. :*

Where is everybody? I miss me haters:*

Hey Michele- I know, where is everyone??? Looks like it's just you & me... it is 4:45 in Tokyo- WAKE UP AUGUST!!!!!!!!! :)

I am so tired, I must get some sleep tonight!!

I like Sweat Cardio 3-4, haven't done it in a while but I do enjoy it. I did P90 Masters Cardio Intervals this morning, think I'm going to do B&G floor glute work tonight and maybe something else, not sure what though. I am meeting my handyman guy at the house about 4 to show him what I want done now--- he is the brother-in-law of a girl I work with and he does really good work. I want to have all the light fixtures on the outside of the house replaced and then my two bathrooms walls & ceilings redone and the floor in hall bath replaced... figure if I'm not going to buy a new house I'll make mine brand new, LOL! I had him redo my basement about 2 years ago & I love it!
