HATE - Mar 30

August

Cathlete
Good morning!

Oogi went berserk and bought so many radishes for the Stalk Market, that her house is overflowing with them. The thing is, if she doesn't have them on tables, then they'll rot within the week....but the Stalk prices have been awful this week and she only has until Saturday to sell them! Oh no!! Keep your fingers crossed for a miracle.

All right. I'm going to make a smoothie now.

MICHELE - I'm...I'm on your list! Oh goodie goodie goodie!

>I still have things on my list...I...I can't get it all done. I think my list was too big.

http://www.smileyhut.com/misc_expressions/oooh3.gif

>what happens when you can't finish everything on your list? Do you add it to the next day's list? I can see where this could get dicey.

http://bestsmileys.com/nono/9.gif

LMAO.

DANA - You took an hour and fifteen minute speed walk?! You are too good. I love walking and I would have loved to have bullet-walked with you. We both could have put on our best "gotta get somewhere IMMEDIATELY" faces on.

Are Tasty Cakes that famous? Are we talking like, Hostess? A friend of mine once sent me a box of Hostess Ding Dongs and they arrived in the middle of the hot, humid summer one day before their expiration date. I had to LOL when I opened the box.

Now for my next question. What's a krimpit?

BECKY - Yes, I had a very good vacation in La-la Land, I must say. How wild that you possibly get migraines stemmed from some kind of trauma that your mother experienced when you were still in the womb. That really must be terrible to deal with them. Do they come often?

Homemade chocolate chip cookies http://bestsmileys.com/drooling/3.gif

SHELLEY - Hey there! I'm in Tokyo. Your friend's marrying friend is Japanese? Where is your friend going to visit and why isn't this friend bringing you? If your friend needs any help with anything, I'll be happy to assist, but I must warn you that I suck as a guide. I'm the kind of person who steers clear of museums and must-see places, and focuses more on the being a blob part of a vacation.

I'm LOL at your megaphone.

KARA - Hey, you! Your DD's bday is Monday! Woo hoo! Wish her a wonderful birthday greeting from Japan! Good luck on your presentation. Is it a scary one?

JEN - Okay, let's see here, Jari Love Slim & Lean, Mindy Mylrea Kick Butt Bootcamp, Karen Voight Pilates Total Body Training, TLT Better Burn, Better Buns and something of Debbie Siebers?

Slim & Lean : I have this and I like Jari. So many people adore this one, you'd be in the minority not to. I did her first Get Ripped workout three times a week for MONTHS without getting bored of it, and felt really good (this was before I had any Cathe). S&L is more endurance stuff, and I was able to figure out that I prefer strength training. http://www.smileyhut.com/misc_expressions/hrmm.gif

Kick Butt Bootcamp : I don't have it, but I always read great things about her. I have one of her other workouts and like it, but if you're new to Mindy, you might check out some samples so you're familiar with her bubbly, somewhat Grover meets Kermit style.

Pilates Total Body Training : I have this and like it. I have problems doing squats and lunges, so it's nice to have a leg workout that doesn't do those things. That being said, the DOMS I feel the most after doing this workout are in my groin. http://www.smileyhut.com/misc_expressions/huh1.gif

TLT BBBB : Ooh, I have this one, too. Wow, I have a lot of DVDs that I don't use. But they're all highly recommended ones from people who have had great results from them, so you've ordered some great ones, and are planning to get some great ones, too! That being said, heh, I felt I lost strength doing the TLT workouts. I actually liked them a lot, but I think I liked them because they were so easy (which isn't to say they didn't make me sweat). I did them in my rotations for two months and when I went back to my regular routine, I had to work a bit to get back to the weights I'd been using pre-TLT.

And lastly, Debbie Siebers : You'll be relieved to know that I know nothing about this woman and can't complain or make fun about anything.

CORRIE - LMAO with you and your arrow photo!! You nut! Cute nut!

Yeah. Like I said, smoothie time.

Have a great day! :D

August-
If I looked cute in that photo it's because Emili had just given me a make-over to make me look like a princess. http://www.smileyhut.com/hats/princess.gif (She used BLACK eyebrow pencil....)

Either that or you've added a couple shots of tequila to that smoothy!!!!http://www.smileyhut.com/eat_drink/burp.gif

*ahem* Still waiting for a picture of YOU.

>Well, that answers that! 'Cause I don't drink!

Well, we all know that I do!!! (Why do you think I look so happy in my picture: a glass of kaluha in one hand and a bag of Hickory sticks on the nightstand and my new (soon to be too small)size 6 skirt on.)

>So when can I book Emili for a makeover?

You don't need an appointment. Any time you show up on my doorstep you'll have a chair at Emili's make-up table.

LMAO at your running away smiley!!! But don't think that being funny lets you off the hook lady!!!!!

Goodmorning haters. Today I hate that my day off is over and I have to work 3 days till I get another. The bedroom is really getting there and I'll get a picture when it's finally complete.

August, how could you let Oogi get so carried away with the radishes. Does she have a friend who could build her some extra tables until the weekend?

Corrie, I love your arrow picture. I'll let you know my travel plans as soon as I have them. It will be someday during the last week of May.

Today's plan is for BM2, but since I gave blood yesterday, I doubt if I'll be able to get through the whole thing.

Hi to all the rest of you. I'll be back later to catch up. Have a great Friday.

Hate Recovery Weeks

Good morning. Well, it is morning anyway. Did y’all miss me? Sorry I have not checked in at all this week. I hate recovery weeks. Hate ‘em with a passion. I am having Cathe cardio withdrawals. I am finally realizing that I am just not cut out for recovery weeks. This is my third or fourth attempt at one, and I am battling the blues again. :-( I am having Cathe withdrawals. I am such an intense cardio junkie! I have not been sleeping well this week. After eating clean for 12 weeks, I went out with a friend Wednesday night and enjoyed my first restaurant meal of 2007. It was yummy. I ate a small bowl of cheesy potato soup and a corn bread muffin from Cotton Patch with a glass of sweet tea. :9 The portion size was not over the top, but I still woke up with a food hangover yesterday morning. Ugh! Sodium is not my friend. I am sure the scale is not my friend either this week.

I have not been totally sedentary this week. I have been doing TLTs and old FIRM workouts. I did Better Burn Better Buns Sunday, the Hare Monday, and Cardio Burn Tuesday. I was planning to do Maximum Cardio Wednesday, but I woke up at 2:00 a.m. and took a nap during my workout time. After dinner with my friend Wednesday night, I was too tired to move. I did Jen Carman’s segments of Better Body and Buns yesterday morning and fast forwarded through the rest. I am enjoying these workouts for a refreshing change of pace, but I am missing my Cathe endorphin high!

I booked my flights for the Road Trip. I will be flying first class on miles, so I am excited. I am good to go. :7 I just need to start training! ;-)

I am so glad it is Friday. After another restless night, I am looking forward to the weekend. Hopefully, I can enjoy some long naps and get my sleep schedule back on track. I am not sure if I want to start my Cathe rotation next week or wait until Easter. I have a full week ahead of me and may go to the club and jog in the pool instead. After sleeping 3-4 hours a night this week, I do not have enough energy for Cathe this morning or I would pull out Rhythmic Step just to shake these blues. I am hoping to have enough energy to get through Maximum Cardio later this morning. I am actually sleepy now, so I may take a nap instead.

For the record, I think anyone who hates cardio is nuts! :7 Speaking of cardio and nuts, I need a report from Michele so I can see if it is time to share my Texas Sheet Cake recipe. Michele, have you been doing your cardio workouts all month? ;-)

I am so grateful that I did not plan a recovery week during PMS time. I would have jumped off the nearest bridge.

August, it is good to see you again. Your comment about the store alarm when they saw me coming made me laugh out loud. :7 A Ya Ya just posted a link to a store in Dallas where I can buy more running shoes! :)

Corrie, I cannot find your pictures. I see pictures of your girls but not you.

Blessings,
Heather B.

RE: Hate Recovery Weeks

YIPPPPPEEEEEEE!!! I DO NOT HATE FRIDAYS!!!!:7
I am so glad it's finally here.....it's been a long week!

August , my mom's heart stopped in the dentist's chair when she was pregnant with me. They never knew why and it's never happened again (thank God) , but she had to be revived.
They think that caused the migraines but of course they can't be sure.
I get them every 6-8 weeks and they last 72 hours, almost like clock work.

Michele, you never made it to my house for cookies. Maybe I should just bring them here and share with everyone?! They are chocolate chip cookies but in place of regular chips, I used chocolate & peanutbutter swirled chips. DD and DH really like them. I don't have a weakness for cookies, so I can bake them and never touch them.

What's everybody doing this weekend?
No plans here, the forecast is for rain .....but that's okay....it's still the WEEKEND!!!:7

I'll come back by later.....have a good morning !:D

RE: Hate Recovery Weeks

GOOD MORNING YAY IT'S FRIDAY AND WHOO HOO I GET SOPHIE BACK TODAY AND THE SUN IS SHINING....

Oh wait... I'm supposed to hate something, right? Ummmmmm.... okay......*thinks*... I hate that my yummy bowl of cereal is GONE! *slurp*

August - I think the wedding is in Osaka, but he's planning to visit Tokyo and some other places while he's there. I think he'll be there for about 10 days? And I didn't get invited because.. well... I DON'T KNOW!!!

Becky - I'll be right over for cookies. Wait... I'll be over after Lent is done for cookies *sigh*

Corrie - can I get a makeover too?

Robin - what are you hating again? Lemme go back and check. Oh, your day off is over:( Just think though - it's just three little days until another one!;) Did you like that positive spin?

Michele - I carry things over on my list all the time. It's difficult sometimes to judge how long things will take, so you can't always finish everything in one day.

Heather - *picks up megaphone* BACK AWAY FROM THE SHOE STORE!!! Do you need a 12 step program - "Hello, my name is Heather and I'm addicted to shoes". Hey, at least you're addicted to new shoes and not someone else's old smelly ones. There are people like that you know.

Okay, I truly need to go get ready for work. Really. Here I go.

RE: Hate Recovery Weeks

Okay, I am really worried about Arista. I mean, I know she is SUPER busy but she does internet work from home for her jobs so I just don't think that is like her to at least say, hey I am too busy to check in but I'm okay. It just isn't like her....

********************ARISTA, ARE YOU OKAY???????*********************

August- Thank you very much for the info on the w/o I ordered. Check out www.beachbody.com - I have the Slim Series by Debbie and Power 90 & Power 90 Master series by Tony from them. Debbie is coming out with a 3 dvd express w/o that will be similiar to the slim series but shorter, like 40 min w/o so I am looking forward to that so I can do that w/ a 30 min. cardio on certain days. Her style is good for my body type- high rep/low weight which is what I need b/c I gain muscle so easily.

Corrie- I forgot you are the other HATER that LOVES Kaluha! I am a big fan too, although I tend to only drink it in the winter b/c I mix with diet hot cocoa, only 25 cal/pack. I like it with skim milk also but that is just too many calories for me to allow myself to indulge in them very often. Love the arrowhead picture!

Robin & Heather & Mariah & Becky- good morning.

Shelley- I forgot to tell you that I agree I think we are very alike in the not being able to relax area... I so wish I wasn't that way but it is what it is, right???

Okay I really have to get going & get to work. I am so glad it's Friday... ah! I think I am doing B&G tonight, not sure if I'll do the original or leg blast, I am thinking the original with another 20-30 min workout with it. We'll see.

I will BBL tonight after work & workout. LATER HATERS!!!!!!

RE: Hate Recovery Weeks

Morning haters. I was so tempted to call off today and take a vacation day just do I didn't have to help fold these damn letters. Ughhh!! But, I couldn't do that to Bon-Bon (my co-worker), so here I am. See, I'm here though, trying to drag it out so I don't have to fold. Yuk!

Today was my weigh-in day and I lost 1 pound. (that surprises me b/c I'm pms'ing and I am so grouchy).

August - Tasty Cakes are like Hostess but I think that they are only available on the East Coast. I remember at one of my jobs, a lady was sending her son boxes of them and he was in Alabama. Krimpits are just delish! Yummo! I would've loved for you to join me on the walk. Nobody ever walks with me b/c I walk too fast. Oh well!!!

Jen - Of the workouts you mentioned, the only one that I have is S&L and I really like it. I've done it 3 x so far. Not long enough to see any results.

Shelley - hey! Glad your DD is coming home this weekend. Are the two of you doing anything fun this weekend?

Corrie - you are a nut. But I agree w/August, you look like a cutie!

Robin - I can't wait to see pics of your new room. So who are your special guests????

Michele - waz up!!!! How was your DH's presentation yesterday? When is he coming home?

Heather - you think anyone that hates cardio is nuts? I beg to differ. I think anyone that loves cardio is nuts. So that makes you a shoe-addicted, cardio-lovin' nutcase!!!:p

Becky - are you feeling better today?

Kara - wow you are busy. Never been to TN but would love to.

ARISTA - PLEASE STOP IN JUST TO SAY YOU ARE OK.

Hi Deb, Diane, Jana, Mariah and eveyone else. I don't want to forget about anyone.

So what is everyone's plans for the weekend? Nothing exciting for me. Just the norm. Tonight is taking Gabe to his first T-Ball practice. I'm making dinner b/c there is no time to get takeout (which is our usual Friday night supper). Tomorrow is probably cleaning. DH is going racing but I"m not going. I'm going to see if my mom will watch Gannon and I would like to take Gabe out for lunch and to the mall. He wants his own wallet, but he is requesting a specific one - from Hot Topic, a black wallet with a skull on it. I hope he doesn't pick one with a chain on it. HA!! I think I'll take the boys to the playground too since it is supposed to be so nice. I may even go to church on Saturday evening w/my mom so I don't have to go on Sunday morning. Plus she can help with the boys. They are so stinkin' bad when I take the both of them with me.

I guess that I have stalled enough and should get back to folding. Actually, I have 3 boxes to go out for UPS so I should take those to the pick up area.

I'll be back later.

Have a great day everyone!!!

RE: Hate Recovery Weeks

Hey, ya all-how is everyone??--Dana-how old is Gabe?-it's funny you mentioned the store Hot Topic-I took my 3 girls and a friend of theirs once to the mall and my little 7 yr old (at the time) was the only one who wanted to go into that store (she's my little rebel)-the mohawks and blue hair scared my other 3-so I'm chuckling envisioning little Gabe...

michele-lists? are you a list maker?-I'll have to go back and research the posts to see what you said about them but my hubby HATES my lists- (they are kinda ridiculous-sshhh-don't tell him I said that)- I make lists from my lists and they are written on the longer post it notes and I don't throw them away so I have stacks of lists-oh wait I'm starting to scare myself-LOL-

August- you mentioned something about Oogi and radishes-well I for the first time EVER in my life bought a bunch of radishes for a salad I'm going to make today that also has hard red winter-berries,raspberry vinegar, dried cranberries, etc. in it-yum, yum-

Shelley-Happy 2 days past your birthday day!!-

my kids are on spring break and everyone's left town for Fla and we are stuck here- however we are planning a vaca to Cali in JUne-we will fly into LA and maybe do some star gazing (sounds hokey I know..)
and then drive up the coast to San Fran--can't wait-

talk to everyone soon--deb/georgi c.

edit-wait the salad with the radishes has greens, feta cheese and orange sections in it- the salad with the winter berries has the pecans, cranberries, fiji apple, raspberry vinegar, etc. in it--

RE: Hate Recovery Weeks

Deb, Gabe is 5. He'll be 6 in April. He loves Hot Topic. He is so funny b/c he went up the sales associate with the pink hair and multitude of facial piercings and started talking to him. It was funny. Last time we were in there he ended up getting a t-shirt - Alkaline Trio. I've never heard their music. Shelley have you? He just wanted the t-shirt b/c it had a bunch of skeleton's on it. He also wanted a lunch box with a skull on it. I finally found one on e-bay and he loves it. I searched and searched for a backpack w/skulls but no luck.

I'm glad you cleared that up about your salads. Both salads sound really good but the one with the winter berries sounds delish!

Where do you live? I thought that you lived in CA????

See, stalling from the folding. Stalling, Stalling, Stalling.

RE: Hate Recovery Weeks

Dana-you thought I lived in Cali? so in your mind's eye I'm bronzed, buxom surfer girl (I wish)-now I'm curious why you thought that-LOL-I live in Michigan--

Buongiorno, bella donne! (I've been practicing my Italian...it's on my list).

Let me start by thanking everyone for the prayers and good vibes -- they worked! DH's talk went very well (I knew it would) and he's so relieved to have it behind him. He'll be home tomorrow morning and I can't wait! My FIL will be 79 tomorrow and we're celebrating by taking my IL's out to dinner. We're going to a little French bistro that he/we love.

I tend to get a little down in the dumps this time of year because my FIL's Bday always reminds me of my mom's Bday. She would have been 93 on April 1st. She and my FIL always sent cards to each other since their Bday's were a day apart. Anyway, I always think of my mom on my FIL's Bday and it chokes me up a bit. --Then there's Mother's Day -- I was born on Mother's Day and that holiday is really hard for me to endure sometimes. I have trouble devoting it to my MIL, whom I love, but she's not my mother. Mother's Day was always very special between me and my momma.

Oh hey, I emailed Arista a couple of days ago but I've never heard back from her :-( . Arista, please come say hi...plesase:*

Okay, moving on to happier topics...

August, I see a new business venture on the horizon for Oogi...bottling horseradish sauce! She could make a fortune doing that!

Corrie, I LOVED that picture!! OMG that was hilarious! Is that something you photoshopped, or were you wearing an arrow hat thingy? Your DD's are precious. :+ --As for posting a picture -- my DH doesn't want me to do that and, as much as I love seeing pictures of everyone, I'm not comfortable doing it. You just never know who's lurking.

Jen, I have BBBB but I haven't used it in ages. It's not that I don't like it, it's just that I have so many workouts I like better that I never get around to doing it. I'd say it's right up your alley because it would give you the kind of lower body slimming you want. --I also have Jari Love's S&L and I like that one, too. Like August said, it's an endurance workout but I like to strike a balance between endurance and strength. There's a lot of "mistakes" in it, but it shouldn't throw off an experienced exerciser -- mostly you'll just laugh or be slightly annoyed.

Robin, I'm excited to see your bedroom. (I wouldn't be adverse to posting an interior shot of my house;) ). I'm sure it will be comfy cozy for your special houseguest:)

Heather -- we've missed you around here! I cannot relate at all to Cathe Cardio withdrawals -- lol! Now GS withdrawals I could understand! :7 . You know, even if you're not up to the rigors of Rhythmic Step, you should put the DVD in just to listen to the music. Who knows, maybe the music and the sound of Cathe's voice will provide the motivation you need to get through it, although I just can't imagine EVER being motivated to do RS:eek: .

I have been very good about doing c...c...cardio this month -- in relative terms;) . I've done cardio at least 2 or 3 times a week, and at least 3 of those were step w/o's, so yes, I think I've earned the Texas Sheet Cake recipe...please...pretty please with sugar on top:*. I'm gonna nag you until you give it to me :p

Becky, OMG! Chocolate and PB swirled chips!?!?!?!? I never knew such a thing existed! :9 . I'm in awe of anyone who can bake cookies without ample temptation to eat them. I would probably eat every single cookie by myself:eek: ;( . --Wow, what happened to your mom is pretty scary! Kind of makes you never want to go to the dentist. Thank God she lived to tell about it!

Shelley, I feel better with the knowledge that you don't always accomplish everything on your list. I shall try again. Actually, I probably accomplished more yesterday than I have in a long time so, while I was irritated that I didn't get everything done, I was pretty pleased with myself overall. Like I said ^^^ there, this time of year wreaks havoc upon me and I tend to be less productive. I have problems with seasonal depression and it carries over into March. I usually start to perk up around April sometime -- then I probably won't need the lists anymore, although it IS fun to cross stuff off :7

Dana, WOO HOO on another pound down!!!!! You're doing so well -- you've been steadily losing for several weeks now! I weigh in on April 6, and I'm nervous about it. I don't think my results will be as good as yours. x(

Hello to everyone else!! I need to run -- it's time to make a new list and hop to it. I have things I want to accomplish around the house today in honor of DH's homecoming. :+ --I'll check back witcha later :*

Edited to give a shout out to Deb!! We were posting at the same time. No, I'm not a list maker. Yesterday was my first attempt at list making and I didn't get everything crossed off like I'd hoped, but I was more productive than usual:7 , you bronzed, buxom surfer girl, you! --LMAO!! --I'm on my way to your house for salad, then to Becky's for a cookie:9

Deb I have no idea why I thought you lived in Ca. You are even closer to me for our trip to ME. I found a new spot to visit, move over Kennebunkport, we're going to Old Orchard Beach. I did a mapquest and it is about 7 hours 40 minutes from where I live. I would not want to drive there. I drove to CT 2 years ago to see my brother and those New Englanders drive like maniacs. At one point, my other brother drove and I thought we were going to die. I was praying the whole time. He on the other hand felt comfortable, probably b/c he was driving just as bad as the other people. HA!

Michele - are you Robin's special house guest? I'm thinking you must be very famous and cannot post a pic b/c it will reveal your identity. Good luck next week when you weigh in. I'm keeping my fingers x'd. I'm so sorry about your mom - I'm sure it is so hard on you. I'm sure she is smiling down on you from Heaven every day, proud of the wonderful daughter you are.

I keep checking in here b/c I hate this folding crap.

>>I'm thinking you must be very famous and cannot post a pic b/c it will reveal your identity.

ROTFLMAO!!

My DH gets a little paranoid about internet stuff and I don't blame him -- I'm a little paranoid, too.

Thanks for your sweet remarks about my mom. I really miss her. Yesterday was the 3rd anniversary of her passing and I was doing everything I could to distract myself. I still cry on that day every year. I remember it like it was yesterday.

Michele,

I just wanted to say I am sad reading how much you miss your mom.
I will be 44 this summer and I don't know what I'd do without my parents. Of course, I KNOW they can't always be here but we are very close and I don't how I will handle it when someday they aren't.
I'm not very strong when it comes to losing people I care about.

I just wanted to give you a ((((((((((((hug))))))))))))) and say that I hope with time it gets easier for you.
