http://www.pic4ever.com/images/lillamu5-756439.gif Good moo! http://www.pic4ever.com/images/imslow.gif

Aunt Flo is here. And she's pretty pissed off http://mysmileyz.com/s/socross2.gif . She's a bit early. No wonder she was giving me a hard time for three days. Urgh. Well, at least I know why I was having that odd headache, and I won't have to look for a doctor to find out how much silica gel dust is safe to get in one's eyes.

I'm taking the day off. I mean completely off. Not even going to work. I have to go out of town tomorrow until Sunday (insert bad words here) so I'm going to pack my stuff and enjoy my day with my squirrels. Who are wiped out napping on the floor. Where I am joining them now.

http://www.pic4ever.com/images/banana_smiley_43.gif

Oh, the apartment front guy asked if my mom was out of town and I asked why, and he said he saw her with a big roller bag (she brings her cats to my place in that bag). So I said, "Oh, no, she's not out of town. When she comes to my apartment, she brings some things, so we got a roller bag."

http://bestsmileys.com/paranoid/3.gif

I don't need that kind of stress in my life! Sheesh! LOL.

JENNIFER -

>stay away from Krispy Kreme. It's a bad place.

HEARSAY!

http://bestsmileys.com/blushing/7.gif

>$15

Woo hooo! You know how many Krispys you could buy with that?

http://bestsmileys.com/blushing/6.gif

MICHELE - I'm so glad that test is over! It does sound scary to shoot up stuff into a person and then make them run to see what happens. I'm so glad he got good readings. Urgh, what a nuisance to have to go and get some more photos. He doesn't have to do that test again though, I hope?

Like Robin said, try to take some deep breaths and not think too much into getting some more tests done. If it was something urgent, they'd have asked you to come in right away.

Think of this as being that little extra incentive for your DH to remember to choose the healthiest lifestyle he can from here on out.

Either way, I'm sending warm vibes to you guys.

I'm also sending good vibes for your SIL's surgery. It must be finished by now. I hope it went well.

>I don't know why I have it in my silly head to start working out early, but I always get around to it so late and I think I'd rather have it out of the way, and now that I know it will tickle my CC spot, well, there's no time like the present -- HA!!

LMAO! SO?! SO?!?!?!?! Don't keep us hanging, woman!!

>grab your iPod, cue up the CC workout, and hightail it over to the Krispy Kreme store. That workout should be good for at least 2 glazed

LMAO!! I might just do that next week.

There's really one main thing that has been stopping me from trying out my CC outside walking --- and that's that I don't have....shoes. LMAO! I really don't. I told you I only wear mules and I wasn't lying! Could I do it walking in my apartment barefoot?

>But you know, they do make ellipticals that fold up. -- ROTFLMAO!!!!

Oh, like I don't have them all in my files? Puleeeeze! LOL.

>I always get a MUCH better workout than if I just did something on my own while watching TV

I just had to copy paste that here since it made me cackle.

ROBIN -

>A brand new Dunkin Donuts opened up on Monday. It is right on my way to work. My car wanted to turn in this morning for a cup of coffee and a Dutch Crumb donut. How am I going to resist twice a day, every day, for the rest of my working life?!?!?

O-M-G. LMAO! Twice a day, every day, for the rest of your working life!! LMAO!!!!!! I would have to move. I really might have to move in that scenario.

>iodine flavored Tang in a plastic bottle!

LOL. When I was 10 yrs old and at camp, I laughed so hard I peed myself and told everyone I spilled Tang.

DANA -

>I was so waiting for some unexpected rush but nothing.

Were you nervous? Were you uptight? Maybe you were preoccupied thinking about work or the kids or the laundry? LOL.

>Are there any CC workouts that are shorter?

LMAO!!

>So to sum it up in a nutshell, this was by far the best workout that I have gotten on my elliptical and I’ve had my elliptical for about 4 years.

WOOHOOOO!!

>that being said, you really should get an elliptical.

http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/angry051.gif

>I guess if you bullet walk to KK and have just one donut and then bullet walk back you’ll hopefully burn off the calories. I'm saying just one!!! Don't listen to Michele who is telling you to eat two.

I've heard that if you stand in line for a while, they'll hand out free donuts to eat while you wait in line. What would I do in that case? http://tools.digeratimarketing.co.uk/content/lb/smile/scared/scared0014.gif

SHANNON -

>Why is it so hard for you to find an elliptical? You NEED one. You really, really need one.

Aside from the sad fact that I have no space for an extra TUB of whey protein, there don't even seem to be many models of ellipticals available in Japan.

http://www.probody.co.jp/shop/aerobike/arb-008.html about $600

http://www.homefit.jp/elliptical/8300/index.html about $8,000 not a typo folks

http://www.fitnessapollo.jp/stex_cardio/stex8020e.htm free, apparently LOL

Well, you get the idea. I did find a folding one, too, and it looks like it was made for a toddler.

>It's like drinking liquid rust.

Argh. That can't be good. You want to do something to really gross yourself out, bend down and look at the faucet spout where the water comes out. Or maybe that's just at my place...

I use a Britta for all my water, but I still can't help but wonder if it's doing a good job.

>I can't say I experienced an endorphasm - I was working too dang hard, and had an "off" day, besides. It just about killed me! I need to ease up a bit, I think.

Don't beat yourself up about it. It will just make it that much harder to achieve one the next time. LOL.

>It's from Sears, and it starts with a P...

More cackling from me.

DIANE - Hey you! Nice to see you again. Congratulations on your health and the invitation to teach a class!

Anyway, see you all on Monday! Have a great weekend, and Michele, I'll be thinking about you guys! :D

Morning, Haters...

August - enjoy your day off. Or maybe it's already over by now, huh? My goodness. Your choice of ellipticals is really pretty pitiful.

Cuz - I like what Robin said - that just because there's an irregularity on the xray, doesn't mean there's really something wrong. It's just good to know they have more accurate ways of imaging so they can make doubly sure. My thoughts are with you and DH. Have you heard anything about your SIL yet?

Diane - hi there. I hope to see more of you! I'm not a cardio hater by any stretch of the imagination, but I like the people here!

So... guess what? My doc told me yesterday that I have arthritis in my thumb. Oh joy.

Good morning http://www.pic4ever.com/images/Copofapple.gif

UPDATE #1 - I've calmed down a bit about DH's test. I was so upset yesterday -- you have no idea. I've been so worried about my darlin' DH for so long, and I've been very afraid of what they might find in these tests. He's really a very bad DH -- he's overweight, he has high blood pressure, he works way to hard -- he has no balance in his life and it's catching up with him. http://www.pic4ever.com/images/tissue.gif

Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes. It really means a lot to me. I was just pathetic yesterday.

UPDATE #2 - My SIL came through her surgery without complications and she'll probably go home today. The "cyst" was not ovarian -- it arose from her fallopian tube. They don't know yet if it was cancerous, but it was filled with over a liter of yucky fluid. We won't know what it was until we get the pathology report. She still has the clot in her leg but they put a filter in her vessel to keep it from breaking lose. They're going to surgically remove it next week. I guess they couldn't do both operations at the same time.

So, so, I have no clue what I want to say this morning. My mind just went completely blank. http://www.pic4ever.com/images/confused0078.gif

I hit my CC spot yesterday, or did I already tell you that -- LMAO!! I made a custom CC playlist that I'm going to use today. I wanted to take it outside for a walk early this morning but was prevented from doing so by one freaking phone call after another. http://www.pic4ever.com/images/gaah.gif

So, I think I'm going to do it on my elliptical. I'm just really feeling a need to find a way to cross train. I still love my elliptical, but I'm afraid that I'll slow my results if that's all I do. I still plan to get a trainer for my bike but I haven't had a chance to shop for one. I suppose I could get one online, but I'd rather go to a bike shop where I can talk to an expert about them, and I need someone to show me how to use it. http://www.pic4ever.com/images/hanghead.gif

AUG -- http://www.pic4ever.com/images/4fvgdaq_th.gif GET SOME WALKING SHOES FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!! LMAO!! No, you can't do a CC workout wearing mules, you silly thing!

And while you're out shopping for shoes, why don't you look for a new and bigger apartment that allows kitties and has plenty of room for an elliptical and a...a stove or something!? http://www.pic4ever.com/images/306.gif

Now go have a donut and think things over, k? :p :* :* :* :* :7

And have a nice weekend and don't work too hard.

CUZ -- I'm heading over to our secret forum to check in with you. :D

Nobody will ever find us over there -- we can have the whole place to ourselves! :p :D

ROBIN -- I know you're right and I have calmed down a tad, but holy crappinoly! I'm starting to feel afraid to wake up in the mornings for fear of what the day will bring, and I suspect you know what I mean from personal experience. ;)

CAn someone PULEEEZE just let me have a day of sunshine and happiness!? PULEEEEZE!? http://www.pic4ever.com/images/122fs329172.gif

Alright you guys, maybe I'll head outside for a walk after all. I'll BBL. :*

Hi Dana, Jennifer, Jen, and Diane!

Michele - I will be praying for your DH. Hopefully they are just being extra cautious and it is nothing. I'm glad your SIL's surgery went well and I hope the cyst turns out beign.

Here are some recent pics of Ella

Hello ladies.

Diane – I can’t believe how big Ella has gotten, she is such a cutie. You look really good too. How do you like staying at home? I remember the long hours you used to work and how stressed you were – bet you don’t miss that at all.

Michele – I’m glad you calmed down a bit but I’d feel the same was as you if it were my DH. I’ll keep him in my prayers that everything is fine. Did you get your workout in today? Do you have all of the CC workouts? I looked at the other workouts on CC and Revised 2 and 3 seem to be shorter workouts. Are either of these good? Be honest – I know that you LOVE Sean but out of all of his workouts, are these any good?

August – how in the world do you workout with out workout shoes??? Do you do your step barefoot? Good God girl, get out of your pj’s and buy yourself a decent pair of workout shoes. And we don’t want to hear that they don’t sell them in your area. Are you serious that they are going to hand out KK’s while you’re standing in line? That is insane! Our donut shops here get the a.m. rush but there is never a waiting line. That is just silly talk. Have a very safe trip!!!

Shannon – I think that you and I must have the same brand of elliptical??? I have a ProForm that I bought at Sears and mine goes up to resistance level 10 as well. I don’t know the model number though. 2 years ago, I used the ellipticals that we have here in the HS gym and OMG what a difference. Not to say mine was cheap but these are really expensive ones and it was like gliding on air. But I stopped using them b/c I felt guilty – there was my faithful Pro-Form at home, while I was out kanoozling with a better model. LOL!!! If I used the settings that you use, I die. I’d collapse and that would be the end of me!

Robin – hey!!! What’s up with you today? Did you resist the temptation of a donut today?

Jen – hope you’re feeling better!

Hi Jennifer!

So ladies, guess what I did this a.m. – I kinda worked out at 5:00a.m. I’m using the term lightly b/c I just went for a 1.5 mile walk. It totally threw off my routine. I am very, very structured and I get up at the same time, I do everything in a particular order and at a particular time. I know, I’m odd. But not today. I got up at 5:00, took Ralphie out, put on a pot of coffee, started the laundry and I was out the door at 5:10. Got home, folded laundry, showered, got ready and got the kids ready and then I ate breakfast. I always eat my breakfast first thing. So tomorrow, I’m going to try to get up at 4:45 (may be hard b/c I’m watching this new sleezy show on Thursday nights that isn’t over til 11:00) and try to walk a bit farther.

My poor Gabe wants a cat so badly. My DH HATES cats and totally refuses to let him have one. So yesterday I stopped for dog food and the place where I shop houses cats for a local rescue group. Gabe fell in love with this cat (ugly cat) and he even had the lady get it out of the cage so he could hold it. He got the business card for the rescue coordinator as well. The cats name is Alice and he said that he likes Alice and she likes him and not many cats like him so this means that she should be his cat. I feel so bad for him. Did any of you used to watch “The Honeymooners”? Ralph & Alice - isn’t that cute??? Anyway, here is a picture of Alice.

javascript:void(window.open('http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/photoView.cgi?petid=10939886','Photo1','height=660,width=778,left=20,top=100,screenx=200,screeny=100,scrollbars=yes'))

I don’t think she’s all that cute and she probably will be up for adoption for sometime. But she is affectionate and seems playful.

DIANE!! OMG!!! You look GREAT -- I LOVE your hair! And I just can't get over Ella :+ . She's a beauty! Thank you so much for posting the pictures, and thanks for the prayers. I'm a huge believer in the power of prayer and it's a real comfort to me.

DANA -- I swear to you, CC2 revised is one of my very favorites! I used it almost exclusively this winter when I didn't have time for workouts, what with my niece and brother in such dire straights and all the running back and forth. It's a great workout and the time really flies by! I haven't done #3 in a long time so I can't quite remember what its like, but it's not much longer than #2. Yes, I do love them all, but I'm not kidding -- finding CC has made a HUGE difference in my workouts. I actually enjoy doing them and I promise -- you'll NEVER find a better way to make use of your elliptical!

I also like #4. It's chosen as a favorite time and again by CC fans and it clocks in under an hour -- I want to say that it's about 45 minutes long.

Thank you for your prayers, too. Yeah, it's scary. First the sleep apnea, then the high blood pressure -- I won't feel at ease until we have the test results and I KNOW he's okay.

ETA I'm listening to #3 right now -- it's really good -- it has a nice mix of sprints and hills and I think it's right around 40 or 45 minutes long. He's got a 3 for the price of 2 sale going on -- I'd do that and get #2 revised, #3 and #4. Of course, #1 revised is also very good and very short -- about 30 or 35 minutes. ;)

Dana, I think you should just get Alice. I like Gabe's reasoning. Yes, I drove right by DD without a care this morning. Right now my mouth is watering though.

August, no workout shoes! You shouldn't be allowed to post! Really, get some shoes. How the heck do you bullet walk in mules? Mine would get kicked off and hit some unsupecting pedestrian in the head. Don't work too hard this weekend.

Michele, {{hugs}} I'm glad you feel a little better, but I know how you feel, wanting all the answers NOW. I'll pray for a sunny day full of joy and no worries for you.

Shannon, now what's this about you and Michele having a secret check-in? You and I already check in at the same places. I hate being left out!

Diane, you and Ella are sooooo beautiful. Is motherhood what you expected?

My DH called and told me to get home fast. I have a new refrigerator to fill. Yay! I'm not sure what today's workout will be. Some kind of upper body weight work I think.

Hi ladies,

Thanks for the comments on the pics. I am loving staying home, but every once in a while I panic thinking about what I will do for work down the road. I know that I don't want to work at a law firm again, and the firm I used to work at seems to be imploding. So I am thinking about getting into the fitness industry somehow, though sometimes I want to get back into psychology and get a masters and become a counselor. I don't know!!

Anyway, I have a fitness related question. How much do you think is too much exercise? I don't want to start over training. I do strollerfit about 3 days a week, which is 50 mins and a lot of jogging and other cardio moves, lunges and squats without weights, and upper body exercises using tubing or resistance bands, and core work. I don't get sore anymore from the toning moves, so I really just see it as a good cardio workout. I could buy bands with more resistance, but I would rather lift heavy weights on other day. I want to do a bodypump class about 2-3 times a week, a power yoga class 1 time a week, cardio on the cardio machines or a cardio class 1-2 times a week, and I also want to adding in some Cathe and pilates videos in there. So obviously some days I am working out 2x a day. Is this too much? I am going to space out bodypump and Cathe workouts or any other heavy weight lifting, but I will do them on the same day or consecutive day as strollerfit classes.

So an example of a weekly schedule. I only go to the gym in the pm if I feel like it, and I haven't felt like I am over training yet. On days I do 2 workouts, they only total 1 hr 45 mins usually.

M: strollerfit am bodypump or Cathe weights workout pm
T: power yoga class am
W: strollerfit am bodypump pm
Th: strollerfit am cardio on cardio machine or Cathe cardio pm
F: cardio class am
Sat: body pump class
Sun: rest day

Diane, that schedule looks fine to me. You're resting between weights and you have one full rest day -- that looks really good. You can always make adjustments once you start if you need to. Hey, what's you email address? The only one I have for you is from your old job. I need it for something ;) . You can PM me with it and them I'll email you back.

Robin -- a new refrigerator!! WOO HOO!!! I'd like a new one, too, but mine still works fine -- I just don't like it. :p

Enjoy your workout. I haven't had a chance to do mine yet but I'm hoping to get it in before dinner.

Diane, I'm not the one to ask for advice but it it were me, I wouldn't do weights the same day as doing the strollerfit if you're doing excerises with the band. I know that you're not "technically" lifting when you're using the band but you are using the same muscle group.

Oh and the perfect career for you, combine the fitness with psychology. There are so many children that are struggling with their bodies. Whether it be obesity, eating disorders in combination with lack of physical activity. I think that would be a rewarding career. My best friend's daughter is going through something similar with emotional eating. And although she is getting an appt for a counselor, it doesn't mean that the person she will be seeing has any experience with what she is going through.

Robin - apparantly, Shannon & Michele have created a secret CC
check-in - must be reserved for those who get that CC high or something. Don't worry Robin, we'll find it!!!! We'll search hi & lo til we stumble upon it and then the better look out, we'll crash their secret CC party.

My day is dragging. I'm off to find the secret site. If you don't hear from me, send help. }(

Ha!! Dana!! We have a check-in on the CC forum. You're welcome to join us. We'd LOVE to have you. :* :*

Do you really think the band work will be too much if weights were tacked on in the evening? I don't know -- I really think it's okay as long as the bands aren't heavy.

Yes, I agree that something with a combined fitness/psychology focus might be right up Diane's alley.

I don't know. Maybe she should try it and then see how she feels. It could work out perfectly fine. Like I said, don't ask me for advice. LOL I'm totally clueless.

Yesterday I bought my boys some clothes at JCPenney and when I was unpacking the bag, guess what was in there? The stapler that the cashier uses. HTH did I end up with that? Hey, we don't have a stapler on our desk so I guess I have one now huh???

Thank God only 25 min til quitting time. Gabe wants to do a 4 mile walk tonight - I know it'll take us about 2 hours. His little legs are nowhere as long as mine so even when he is walking fast, it seems like I'm just strolling along.

Thanks, Dana, for a link to the no-longer-secret-secret-checkin. The only problem is, when I registered, I was sent an email asking me to request they activate my account. My email wouldn't go anywhere! So I guess Michele and Shannon are safe from me for a while.

Michele, you need to email your budy, Sean, and tell him I couldn't register for his bogus forum!

I never did get to my workout. After playing with my fridge, it was time to make dinner. Dinner called for a glass of wine and I don't like to workout with my wine buzz. Tomorrow will have to be upper body day.

LOL at my DH. He had to empty the stereo cabinet, so he could move it enough for the fridge to get in the house. Now he is refilling it, which requires he look at every album, CD or tape and play the ones that interst him. This could take a while. He was ogling the album cover for Herb Alpert's Whipped Cream and remembering what affect it had on his 13 year old self.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/d/da/HA_WhippedCream.jpg/200px-HA_WhippedCream.jpg

Michele, does your DH have any memory of this record?
