HATE - June 18

August

Cathlete
http://www.pic4ever.com/images/cancan.gif I must tell you.

There.....

There.......(deep breath)

There is a new Krispy Kreme branch.

It......

It.......(another deep breath)

It's one train station away from me. It's near a train station that I go to often. O---M----G!!!! GAHHHHH!

http://www.pic4ever.com/images/bliss.gif

And of course now I'm working at home. LOL. Just the thought of it though. I mean, I could WALK there. I had to tell you.

What else? I've had a strange headache for the last three days. I never get headaches, so I'm not sure what it is. It could be something to do with the weird allergy symptoms I've been having. It could also have to do with Aunt Flo's upcoming visit. I hope it doesn't have to do with my closing up the silicon gel kitty litter bag so that a huge waft of air/dust flew directly into my eyes. At any rate, I put in PUB and started to do it, but with each flex, a wave of head pain would come, so I decided it would be better to just skip it today.

Of course now my headache is gone LOL. http://www.pic4ever.com/images/connie_1.gif

JENNIFER - Whoops, I'm all confused about your trip times! Maybe it's wishful thinking that you could be on vacation for a whole week!

MICHELE - I've been thinking nonstop about you and your DH. How did it go? Any news or do you have to wait for results?

I'm sorry to hear that your SIL's hubby isn't....well, isn't of much "use." What did you decide to do about going there?

I've got to say, the word "endorphasms" is GENIUS! LMAO!!

The errands I ran the other day were like bank and tax fun errands. Hurray, right?

I did look online AGAIN for ellipticals. I even looked on You Tube to see how it looks in motion. Ohhhh, but to have an elliptical.

>As soon as it was over a huge smile spread across my face -- I couldn't help it! It just felt so good. I had this whole butterfly feeling in my tummy and everything!

Ohhh, I get that feeling when I've eaten a cinnamon roll. Except I guess I wouldn't call it a butterfly.

ROBIN - Shame on your for blowing off your meeting! There are ways of going around having to blow off meetings, you know. Like having the meetings at your home so you can be makeup-free and in your pajamas.

So did you look for fridges?

DANA -

>why don't you put your house on e-bay????? I'm really trying to think of things so you don't have to go back to Oregon? Really I am.

LOL! Man, I've got to write something to put on the OD so I can get some more ideas. Not to say that I think the e-bay one is not a good one.

The phone situation sounds irritating! You'd think that's a fairly easy thing to set up! Sheesh!

BECKY - Hey there! How you doing?

>I always get it when I do CC! I don't know if it's the workout, or Sean!

And from SHANNON :

>I'll just about fall off the elliptical at the end and then shout YES!!!

This is really beginning to be too much! It's like being in college and hearing about the G Spot, except it's the CC Spot.

I want to find my CC Spot. Why do finding these spots always have to require some kind of machinery that is not readily available to me?

Wait, am I being too racy? http://mysmileyz.com/s/flasher.gif

It must be the uh, headache.

Okay, I'm off!

Have a nice one! (Yes, you dirty women, with Sean.)

:*

Hello Haters.

How are you all? August, stay away from Krispy Kreme. It's a bad place. I've never been but never had to, someone from work goes occasionally saving me the trip.

Well, 2 more full days of work before I'm on vacation. Last night, I was on the phone most of the night and decided not to work on the lawn or clean the house. Then, Match.com alerted me to an email, signed up again, then cancelled five minutes later.

My water bill came out $15 less than I budgeted for so I'm quite happy with that, more NY money or running around funds for Friday.

Have a Great Day!!

Good morning!! :*

UPDATE #1 -- DH came through his stress test without keeling over from a heart attack. Yes, that's what I was worried about. I am a nurse, after all, and I've seen it happen -- people having heart attacks during a stress test. It's all I could think about, really. So, now we sit and wait for the official results. He had a nuclear stress test where they inject radioactive particles and then scan your heart after exercise. They inject you once you begin exercise and reach a certain heart rate. His EKG reading was fine during the test so that's good, and his blood pressure was okay, too. I think that this stuff -- the sleep apnea and all it's attendant consequences, has opened his eyes to the fact that he ain't getting any younger and he needs to clean up his act. ;)

UPDATE #2 -- My SIL is having her surgery today. I'll let y'all know how it goes. We're hoping that the "cyst" is a benign ovarian but we haven't had any conformation of that, so we'll feel a lot better once we know for sure just what this thing is. We haven't decided if we're going out there yet or not. We're waiting to see what they find and what her recovery will entail.

I'm skipping the spunky smiley dudes today because I gotta go fast :p . I'm gonna try a new experiment -- I'm gonna try ellipticizing before breakfast  . I don't know why I have it in my silly head to start working out early, but I always get around to it so late and I think I'd rather have it out of the way, and now that I know it will tickle my CC spot, well, there's no time like the present -- HA!! :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7

AUGIE -- THANK YOU for making me laugh. OMG I nearly peed my pjs after reading your post! I really needed that. :* :* :* :*

Now listen to me young lady, you put on your walking shoes (real walking shoes -- not bullet shoes :p ), grab your iPod, cue up the CC workout, and hightail it over to the Krispy Kreme store. That workout should be good for at least 2 glazed, or one glazed and a cinnamon roll }( :p :9 . Do it and report back to me. You really and truly do not NEED a machine for his cardio. Lots of people use it for walking and running outdoors -- I swear it's true ;) . Now go! :*

But you know, they do make ellipticals that fold up. -- ROTFLMAO!!!!

How's your headache? I'll bet it is related to PMS and allergies -- both of which have been known to cause headaches. I hope you're feeling much better by now. :*

JENNIFER -- WOO HOO for the extra 15 bucks!! Isn't it fun when you find extra money you didn't expect to have!? I hope your week passes by quickly and smoothly, and that you have a blast on your trip.

BECKY!! -- Howdy stranger! It was so fun to read your post! We've missed you around here ;) . Thank you for the prayers. I can use all you can spare. Honestly, it seems like it's just one damn thing after another lately. Speaking of which, how's your MIL? Is she doing well? Is she with you now or did she go home? I think about you often and always wonder how that situation turned out.

Oh, oh, the runner's high? It's only from the workout -- yeah, that's all it's from -- I'm SURE of it :p }( . Bwahahahahaha!!!!!

But I just have to say that's it's awfully nice to finally get my reward for doing cardio! I mean, for crying out loud, can't a girl have some fun once in awhile -- LMAO!

DANA -- Yes, it was so nice out yesterday. I turned off the AC and opened the windows. it's still nice this morning, too, and I'm hoping it lasts. You should try your CC workout when you go for your lunch break walks. ;)

ROBIN, CUZ, JEN -- How are ya!?

Okay, here I go! I'm planning to do CC5 today :D . I have a deskunking appt. later this morning so I won't be back until much later. Have a great day everyone! ;) :*

August, I feel your pain. A brand new Dunkin Donuts opened up on Monday. It is right on my way to work. My car wanted to turn in this morning for a cup of coffee and a Dutch Crumb donut. How am I going to resist twice a day, every day, for the rest of my working life?!?!?

Michele, I'm glad to hear your DH survived the stress test. I hope the results are good too. Same goes for your SIL's surgery.

Gotta get back to work.

Hey haters! I’m working for a bit longer and then I have the rest of the day off. My son has a doctor’s appt.

Michele – glad to hear that your DH's test was ok. Hopefully the written results are great! I'll keep your SIL in my prayers.

So, I finally did the CC workout last night. Perhaps I need to give it another try b/c ((sorry)), I was not overly impressed with it (meaning I did not get Michele’s butterflies). I was so waiting for some unexpected rush but nothing. LOL Granted I truly HATE cardio, so it may take more then one go at it for me to fall in love with it. I will admit that the time did fly by and I have never been on my elliptical for that long of time. I kept thinking after Challenge 2, when is this going to end!!! I was pretty excited to hear that Challenge 3 was the final challenge. I know that everyone is different, but Michele & Shannon, would you be kind enough to say what, for you, are your resistance levels for the levels on the workout? Here is what I used:

CC’s Level 1: I started at resistance 1, then went up to 2
CC’s Level 2: I used resistance 3
CC’s Level 4: I used resistance 5
**with the exception of Challenge 3, I used resistance 6 as my level 4; then for the last 2 parts of challenge 3 I used resistance 8 and then resistance 9 for the one minute.

I will admit that I really liked Challenge 3 the most. And I was surprised that a stretch was included. I never stretch after using the elliptical and that was nice. Are there any CC workouts that are shorter? I think that it would a nice a.m. workout if there were something that was under 40 minutes?

So to sum it up in a nutshell, this was by far the best workout that I have gotten on my elliptical and I’ve had my elliptical for about 4 years. Not sure if I’ll be consistent with it b/c I do get bored easily but I will definitely to it again!!!

August – that being said, you really should get an elliptical. I’ve never been to a Krispy Kreme. We don’t have them in my area – we’ve just got Dunkin’ Donuts. I guess if you bullet walk to KK and have just one donut and then bullet walk back you’ll hopefully burn off the calories. I'm saying just one!!! Don't listen to Michele who is telling you to eat two. She's just plain evil. LOL That sucks that you’ve got a headache. Nothing that a KK can’t fix!

Jennifer – How long are you going to be in NY? Was your e-mail on Match.com a good one?

Jen – did Chad make it home safely?

Robin - yikes, a new DD? I could pass one everyday, both to and from work, but luckily, a take an alternate route which bypasses all the stop signs, red lights, and DD. Both my boys love donuts and everytime Gannon sees a DD, he remarks there's the donuts!!!

Well, I only have a bit longer to go so I better get working!

Hi, Haters!

August - you are hilarious!! Where do you come up with this stuff? Good grief, woman - you're going to get me in trouble here at work. I'm snorting, trying to hold back the laughter! Why is it so hard for you to find an elliptical? You NEED one. You really, really need one. CC was made for those things. Gosh, I sure hope your headache goes away. I think they're the hardest kind of pain to tolerate.

Cuz - I'm so very glad that DH made it through with flying colors. And I'm keeping my fingers crossed that your SIL's cyst is benign. My goodness, you are a changed woman! No more putting cardio off for you! You're jumping right into it!

Robin - Go ahead. Indulge twice a day in Donut Heaven. You'll get sick of them in a few weeks and never want another one.

So.. anybody want to taste some truly nasty water? Come on over to my place. I let the salt pellets in my water filter run out - they help to filter out the iron. Oh boy. It's like drinking liquid rust. My dog won't even drink it. And yes, it stains everything, so cleaning the bathroom this weekend should be a real challenge. Fortunately I keep water stored under the sink, which we will drink until my water gets back to normal in a few days.

Today is weight work - the Pyramid Bonus Combo, plus the PUB abs. Last night was CC 8. I can't say I experienced an endorphasm - I was working too dang hard, and had an "off" day, besides. It just about killed me! I need to ease up a bit, I think.

HI Robin, Dana, and Cuz!

Cuz, I joined your check-in group!

Robin -- thank you for all your prayers and well wishes. Don't work too hard :*

Dana -- Yes, there are several shorter workouts, and I will just tell you that Volume 8 is the most advanced workout he has, so I'm not at all surprised by your feelings about it. I actually hesitated sending that one to you because it really is so HARD -- it's totally uphill and very strenuous. I chose it because hills are fun on an elliptical. He has several that incorporate sprints, too, that you might enjoy a little more.

I can't remember what my settings were off the top of my head -- maybe Shannon can be of more help there. I know that the resistance on mine goes up to about level 20 or something like that, and I maybe used 8 or 10 for most of the workout. But I'm used to ellipticizing and do it often, so it only stands to reason that I would use higher settings than you ;) . You should use the settings that put YOU in the right zone. :*

ETA that yes, his workouts really make the time fly by, and he works you hard! I always get a MUCH better workout than if I just did something on my own while watching TV or listening to music on my iPod.

*GASP* I have to go! I'll BBL if I can. :*

Shannon, your nasty water reminded me of when my DH and I hiked part of the C & O canal along the Potomic River. We were backpacking for a week. There were designated camping sites, with water provided by a hand pumped well. The water was treated with iodine and we mixed it with Tang. In a plastic water bottle. Mmmmmm, nothing quenches the thirst like warm, iodine flavored Tang in a plastic bottle! I like your suggestion about how to combat donut envy too. But I'd gain abuot 50 pounds before I'd been tired of them.

Dana, I love cardio and I rarely, if ever, achieve that endophin high. I think Michele made it up.

Dana - we must have posted at the same time! It sounds to me that for a cardio hater, you liked CC 8 pretty well! I mean, if time flew, that's a very good indication! :7 I can share my settings with you, but I doubt they'll mean too much, since it seems like ellipticals vary widely.

Now, I can't remember what elliptical I have. It's from Sears, and it starts with a P... I think. ;) The resistance goes from 0-10, and I do not have an adjustable incline. I always use perceived exertion to judge where I should be.

Challenge 1: I did level 3 on resistance 7 and level 4 on resistance 9.
Challenge 2: I kept resistance on 7 for both of the 8 minute segments.
Challenge 3: I started out at resistance 6 for level 3 but was maxed out and dropped back to 5. Level 4 was on resistance 7. The previous time I did it, I was able to keep the resistance higher (Level 3 @6 and Level 4@either 7 or 8, I think).

I always go down to resistance 4 for the steady states/rests. My speed stays fairly constant, between 60 and 65 RPM. During the rests, I can drop back into the 30s, but hten build back up to 60 in time for the next challenge. I actually hit 70 RPM on the last Level 4 of Challenge 3. I have no idea how I did it, because I was pooped.

Also keep in mind that I really don't trust my elliptical's readings. It tells me that I burn over 1,000 calories every time I do a CC workout. No kidding. Now, we all know that is simply not possible. So I epect the RPMs are off too. I just use the readings for comparison between my own workouts, not with anybody else.

Hi ladies!

Sorry it has been FOREVER since I posted anything. I am just never on the internet anymore.

Just wanted to give a little update on what is going on in my life. I read a little bit from just today I am glad your DH's stress test went okay today Michele.

Well Ella is 8 1/2 months old, just started crawling and is just a little cutie. She is really social, loves other kids and just an all around sweetie. I am still doing strollerfit (circuit class with moms and babies in their strollers using bands and tubing) 2-3 days a week, I joined a gym and going 3-4 days a week doing bodypump classes, weight lifting and cardio. I have finally made it back down to my pre-pregnancy weight! I am thinking about incorporating some Cathe again but just don't know when to do it. Also, my strollerfit instructor is going to hire me to teach one class a week at night - it is a pilates based core class for moms. I have never done the class before so should be interesting. I need to get certified and stuff still.

Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well. I will post a few pics of Ella later.

DIANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

OMG where have you been!? We've missed you around here, and I cannot believe how old Ella is already! Time is passing way too fast. I can't wait to see the pictures. WOO HOO for you getting back to your pre-pregnancy weight and teaching a pilates class -- that is so cool :D ! Well, lets not be such a stranger, k? The population of Haterville has been dwindling and we need to boost it back up -- even though I'm starting to love cardio :p .

Oh dear! Oh dear! DH got a call from the cardiologist and they need to take more pictures of his heart. They didn't really say why, just that there's an area they want a better look at ;( ;( ;( ;( . Now I'm scared. Please pray, please. He's going back on Friday morning for the pictures, so there is a part of me that thinks it must not be too serious or they'd want him back sooner. But still -- the lack of knowing and understanding is so hard.

I did CC5 today and really blew off the steam. I cannot believe the readings I got on my elliptical  . I mean, I know they're not accurate, but compared to the readings I've gotten in the past, these are off the chart. ;) :D

Alright, I need to start dinner. I'll see y'all later.

P.S. Cuz started a check-in group on the CC forum and I'm joining her. Y'all should check it out. :D

P.P.S. No word yet on my SIL, but she is in CA and it's still early there.

Michele, I'm praying, I'm praying. Please don't fret. I've had to have several "extra" tests on my heart because of abnormalities in x-rays and EKGs. Everything has always turned out to be fine. Take a deep breath and don't worry.

Hi Diane. Miss you.
