HATE - July weekend!

August

Cathlete
Good morning! http://www.pic4ever.com/images/banana_smiley_32.gif

It's another lovely day in Tokyo and I've got the air-con on low. The sun is shining and the cat water fountain is trickling LOL.

We were up until about 4am playing with Miss Beetle http://bestsmileys.com/insects/1.gif .

Cham and Mooch were so excited about her and they were just so cute to watch. It was sort of heartwarming to see Mooch curiously but very gently repeatedly touch her, and when Miss Beetle would start to run towards Mooch (I guess she wanted to hide in his black hair), he would back up like he didn't want her to stampede him (or get stampeded).

Cham on the other hand was very excited to put Miss Beetle in her mouth - but just to carry places LOL. She would sniff and sniff again, and then gingerly put Miss Beetle in her mouth, walk a few feet away and drop her out, and Miss Beetle would start walking around again (this beetle could fly, too, so she must have been cool with this play to some degree LOL).

A couple times Miss Beetle played dead and that in itself was really cute. She'd flop over on her back and crumple up her antenna and her feet like "Oh, uh oh, I'm dead. I'm completely dead. Playtime is over because I am completely dead. See my crumpled antenna and feet?"

Sometimes she would fly up onto the ceiling and Mooch and Cham would go wild. I had to get a chair so I could lift Moochie Pie up high enough so that he could gently swat her back down to the floor area.

I finally decided that everyone had had their thrill for the evening and put Miss Beetle outside to look for Sir Cockroach.

Cockroaches, by the way, are really, really common in Japan, unfortunately, though they really don't bother me.

Anyhoo, I've finished a 10-min kickboxing fix, plus the KM leg conditioning drills that I used to find so easy (.....this is the part where I whine and whimper LOL).

JENNIFER -

>A cockroach in my home would bother me. Thanks to my old neighbours in my old apt complex, I did get them. It was hard to fumigate the place with Adrian (my old cat).

LOL. That's the thing about cockroaches. They're the smartest, oldest buggers on the planet and there is simply no fumigating. They probably laugh when we spend money on fumigation and then go around licking the powder because it tastes good. I think I told you guys but cockroaches can live an entire month from licking a freakin fingerprint. I'm not even joking! They got it down!

I hope you have a great time kayaking. We want to hear the stories of how much water went up your nose! LOL.

Your upcoming weekend seeing old schoolmates sounds like it will be great. Are you excited to see your old friend?

DANA - I'm going to tell Michele on you. GET TO A DOCTOR! I don't go to doctors either, but you do seem to have that recurring pain in your chest like that. Does your family have any history of that sort of pain? That's worrisome. I know you've been working out more steadily recently, could that be part of the problem?

>if I saw a cockroach, there is no way in he!! I'd pick it up and rescue it. It would be DEAD!!!

Sir Cockroach had positioned himself between the front door and its threshold, so all I had to do was open the door a bit and out he scurried. All the squirrels were lined up at the door with their ears all perked up waiting in vain for him to run around in the entryway again.

All right. I HAVE GOT to work today. I was really good with eating and exercising and playing video games yesterday http://bestsmileys.com/blushing/7.gif , but I've got to get my butt in gear and finish this project. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/chores019.gif

Have a great weekend!

Miss Beetle and Sir Cockroach! August, have you ever written a book for children? Or children's songs? I would love to hear a lullaby about the courtship of the bugs and how Sir Cockroach battled the Terrible Kitten of Death to save Miss Beetle. You must also really hate to work, to put so much time and energy into the Miss Beetle game.

Michele, where are you today? I miss you. Did you take Mr Michele up to the cabin for a weekend of romance and fried pork chops?}(

Dana, I missed that you have chest pains. See a doctor!!! Sorry about your concert woes.

Jennifer, hope you enjoyed the kayaking. I can't wait to go with friends in North Carolina in August. We paddle on very still, quiet water. The scariest thing is worrying if a snake will fall from the low hanging tree branches into your kayak.

I'm a work today, but had a very nice day off for the 4th. We went to a cookout at DD's boyfriend's family's. They live near the river where the city sets off fireworks, so we got a front row seat. Work is quiet today and I just have to figure out how to look relatively busy for a couple more hours. Then it's home to do something cardio and make lime chicken tacos for dinner.

Hello Haters.

My day started at 4AM and we were on the road just after 5am. We went 90 miles north then over then south again then east to get to Lake Huron. We saw tons of cute beach cottages (hotels) along the lake, like Lake MI used to be, and tons of families. We got on the water about 1030AM and kayaked for two hours. The AuSable is wide and can be deep in some areas, the water was swelled up, so we did move right along. No snakes, just fish, geese,eagles,etc.. Denise and I ran into two fine men fishing and they appreciated us showing interest in their large small mouth bass they had just caught. After kayaking, we cruised down the shore of Lake Huron then cut over to Mt. Pleasant to go gambling at the largest casino in MI.. I started winning so I didn't want to leave but cashed out so we could finally eat dinner at 4pm. We ate breakfast in Houghton Lake at a local spot on the way up. I've been home for about 45 minutes now. Not sure how long I will last. We were both timid about it, Denise wasn't sure my idea was so hot, but no we're both hooked on it. We put about 450 miles on my Civic with one tank of gas with the air on for partial of the trip and I still have gas left over. Seville and Madrid are happy that I'm home now and are glued to me. Soaring Eagle Casino is a very classy place. Check out ESPN Alternative to see the 24 Hour Canoe Maration, it's a qualifier for the triathalon.

Time to chill out.

Hiya all!

Today is my day off so I did a couple Tamilee stretches. They felt great! And even though I only stretched, I treated myself to a yummy smoothie and it sure hit the spot.

Now I'm ready to take a nap. LOL.

So I think I will do that and then get to work!

ROBIN - I would be all over into writing children's books, and I'd even do all the illustration. Man, that would be totally fun!

>You must also really hate to work, to put so much time and energy into the Miss Beetle game.

LOL. Honestly, it was really fun to watch Mooch and Cham enjoying their first beetle. In fact, I opened the windows again today, even though the air is totally hot outside, in hopes that another bug will fly its way in to play!

Sounds like you had a great 4th. BBQ and front row fireworks, cool!

JENNIFER - Wow, sounds like you and your friend had a really great adventure! I guess when you get up at 4am, dinner comes at 4pm and feels late! After a long, active day like that, I'll bet anything tastes incredible. That's fantastic that the day trip was such a success, and now you can chill with the babies and just relax. That sounds so good.

Okay, I'm totally ready for my nappy.

Have a good one! :*

Good Morning!! http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/eatdrink059.gif

They're gone!!! YAY!!!!!http://www.pic4ever.com/images/bliss.gif http://www.pic4ever.com/images/cancan.gif

Our fam damily visitors left Saturday morning and boy, it was time!! Two weeks was about a week too long. http://www.pic4ever.com/images/girl_sigh.gif

How're my peeps? I miss youse :* . DH and I have had a crazy weekend and I think we're both looking forward to a little rest and relaxation today. We haven't made any plans yet, but I'm hoping to tempt DH with brunch out somewhere because I don't feel like cooking at all.
http://www.pic4ever.com/images/meatballs.gif

I'm still working on the bridal shower. I ordered invitations yesterday, and now I'm trying to figure out what to do with the table settings. What if I put little boxes of chocolates at each place setting? What do you guys think? Geez, I haven't been to a bridal shower in probably 10 years and I have no clue what people do, but I'll tell you this much -- I'm not playing any of those dopey games -- LMAO!!! I hate games -- hate them -- HATE!!

My post is coming to you from my brand new Macbook laptop! Our desktop is upstairs (that's where our study is -- stupid house x( ) and DH and I both felt we needed a good computer downstairs. I really like it, but I have to get used to the keyboard and find all the shortcuts and stuff, so it's slowing me down. http://www.pic4ever.com/images/184.gif

AUGIE -- I TOTALLY AGREE -- you should write children's books with all your little creatures!!!!! You're so talented and creative and I was laughing and smiling the whole time I was reading your post! And wow, you could illustrate them, too!? Is there anything you can't do? And certainly you have stories to tell about Mr. Ched and the chocoraisin!
http://www.pic4ever.com/images/computer3.gif

ROBIN -- I miss you, too ;-) . It sounds like you had a wonderful 4th! Mine sucked -- lol! How long will DD's boyfriend be home? I keep praying that he'll propose to your DD. :D :D :D

No, we did not go to the MMGHH. There wasn't time with DH's brother here and all. And besides, it's pretty miserable up there over a major holiday weekend. It tends to be crowded and loud and even DH doesn't like to go when it's like that. :D

JENNIFER -- Wow! It sounds like you had a wonderful weekend. I didn't realize you were a wild child, gambling and carousing -- lol! JUST KIDDING!! I'm glad you had fun -- you've had so much stress lately and you earned the time off to kick back and relax.

DANA -- What's going on!? You're having chest pain!? You better see the doctor ASAP!! How was your 4th?

Hello to Cuz, Jen, Diane, and all.

Have a great day and I'll see y'all tomorrow. :* :* :*

Hello Haters.

Just waking up from my cat nap with Seville and Madrid. My friend, Denise, and I do have a sense of adventure and do like to take risks. My next kayaking trip, I would like to get into some whitewater but not alot. We may go up the river a bit.

One week from Monday, I'm on vacation for a week. I decided to get it in since one of my co-workers is supposed to go back to college in August.

Next Saturday, I'm going to Metro Detroit to visit some childhood friends. The past few weeks have been a blast going to NY, kayaking in Northern MI, then off to my old "hood."

Labor Day weekend is up in the air. Should we go to Shipschewana or charter fishing on Lake MI, kayaking back on the AuSable, RenCen Faire in Holly, etc...
