HATE - Jan 15

August

Cathlete
Hey there!

Yes, the tsunami did indeed fizzle out, thank goodness. Apparently the 8.3 was in the ocean, so luckily there really was no damage.

Speaking of damage, I've just finished my Gym BSB and made my smoothie. I've been putting regular ol' spinach in it and it tastes great!

You guys, I've just realized and remembered that the water in my apartment is turned off for today for repairs. The water will be turned on an hour after I've left for work! Urgh! And then I won't be home until late...is my blender going to be the grossest thing on earth or what? I'm scared.

Michele - I'm so sorry to hear that glop is back in your life. Did the doctor say why it is suddenly acting up like this? Your cat! That was totally cute! He must have been like, "Yo. Food. Hey. Stop typing and get me my food." Anyway, your new workout room must be totally inspiring. No more lugging! No more inconveniences! And the TV. Woo hoo! That's great that you are matching Jari's lifting weight. I found that chart confusing too (where it shows the total weight). As you use the workouts, you'll also start noticing that there are some exercises that Jari herself can't figure out or is doing them slightly wrong (bending right instead of left). I guess they are not exercises she regularly does in her own routine LOL.

Dana - Thanks, Mom's carpet is fine and the laundry machine is well. Everyone is happy and dry LOL. Mom stays at her apartment when I go out of town or when I go out to work. When I'm working at home, I go down to her place for dinner. There's a library and a big book store down the street from our building and she loves to go there and read all the newspapers and magazines and stuff. That's been great for her since she loves to read....Sooooo, tell us about the bread!! Was it fantastic?...And huge congrats on the new computer. I've been psyched to have you back so often, and now with the new computer, it's sealed! Woo hoo!

Tetris! Woooo! Ain't it great that you can play nostalgic games on Nintendo? Love! Love!

Heh, I know nothing about computers. But I DO know more about the new Krispy Kreme in Tokyo, as I did some research on it. It's at a huge train station that I never go to because it's on the way to nothing for me and because it's the busiest train station in the world, or something nuts like that.

But come on now, don't be silly, a crowded station is hardly going to keep me from going. I've NEVER had a Krispy Kreme before. OF COURSE I'M GOING.

> I also thought that August knew everything. But then the truth came out. LOL. When I was having computer problems I couldn't get on here and I e-mailed her in hopes of getting an answer to the computer problem. She was no help!!!!! HA!!!

LMAO.

Ask me about raw brownie mix and I'll be able to help you out any time.

What a nice gift for your boss to give you. That sounds like something you'd give a family member for a present. She must think really highly of you.

Robin - You went out power walking in the drizzle? What a romantic! I'm totally with you on the exercising in the evening. It seems that if I don't get it done in the morning, then it just ain't getting done. Weirdly, there was a period when I first started doing Christi that I would do a workout in the morning and then also one at night because I couldn't help myself.

DID YOU HEAR THAT DEB?

Deb - Have you been talking about going back to work? Am I having a moment here? I don't remember that. I remember your talking about P90X though LOL. I saw on the check-in for that that Jeanette is still at it and doing well.

Diane - Hey there! That's great that your project is finished and you can get some sleep finally. It seems lots of people have stomach issues when they start ETL, that's because of all the veggies and fiber? You'd think it would be the opposite - totally issue-free! Glad to hear the road trip went well!

Okay, so I'm off to take a shower. NOT. ;(

Later!

Hey there- yes I am going back to work- wish me luck- it's been so long I'm not really qualified for anything- we'll see what happens- I plan on doing P90X but I keep putting it off- I want to do all the measurements etc. and start eating right--glad to hear you are okay-

hello to everyone else--deb

Hi Haters!!

Hey August.......miss you over at the yoga thread. Our thread is becoming the Ghost Yoga thread!! Check out this fancy footwork. I've been into this Rebecca Small step DVD and Marc-Oliver Kluike's Dance Step lately. It's really complex but the way they teach makes it easy and they are super fun. Thought the Cardio Haters would be interested!!

Morning everyone. Just checking in quickly b/c I've got work to do but I"ll be back over lunch.

Michele - you've got goop? So does Gannon. Sorry to hear that. Are you taking any meds for it?

August - glad you are ok. I didn't watch much tv over the weekend or read any newspapers so I was unaware of the earthquake.

Diane - good for you for sticking to your eating program.

Deb - when do you expect your bar to arrive? No mail today :(

Robin - how was your brisk walk?

My workouts over the weekend were: Saturday I did LIS and yesterday I did GS BSB - I could do that one every day! LOL

OK, I must get some work done. I'll BBL!

Hey there- Dana- my chin up bar is being shipped on Jan. 22- I should probably watch the videos cuz I could probably sub something else until it gets here but I think I want to start Feb. 1 and 3 months would take me to May1-right before summer--yeah!

Loraic-(sorry if I have your name wrong)-thanks for the links to fitness organica-I think I'm going to buy some Amy Bento after previewing her dvds-the other stuff is dancy-which I like but at this stage in the game if I trip over my step and break something you gonna hear me whine like never before-LOL

August- I've probably missed a whole thread-LOL-but after watching
Christi Taylor-can you say CARDIO?-and you say your a cardio hater-what did I miss??---deb

O hey-I wanted to add that I did B & G Legs Blast premix on Sat.- oh my gosh-I kept thinking the dvd was broke cuz she kept repeating certain exercises LOL and finally I had to stop with 3 more to go (the kids had been waiting patiently for me-I was to take them swimming)- -I'm thinking this premix is a harder workout than the normal B & G routine???-I'll probably do this again when I have 4 hours in my day-just kiiding- I liked it--deb

Good morning all!!

I have the annual paper gown appointment with my doctor today. I HATE that!! I weigh about 5#'s more than I did at my last check up and I don't want my doctor to mention it. If she mentions it I'll probably cry or something. What was I thinking when I scheduled a post holiday, get weighed and get naked appointment!?!?!?!?

It's been raining here for days and there's a small river in my yard. I'm beginning to feel depressed with all this dark, dreary, wet weather. I just wish it would snow and leave a sparkling blanket of white. And it would sure be nice if temperatures would drop low enough to light a fire in the fireplace. There's nothing like the warm glow of a fire to lift my spirits.

August, I'm sorry about your water dilemma! Water, in it's various forms, is wreaking havoc upon the planet. I'm so glad the tsunami and earthquake didn't cause any harm to people or places. --GS BSB--a classic! It just doesn't get any better than the Gym Style workouts. Cathe was inspired when she designed them. --Yes, I have caught Jari in several compromising positions--lol! Her form is not the greatest, IMHO. Like when she does bicep curls--she doesn't keep her upper arms pressed to her sides, and she uses momentum by swinging from her shoulders. And did you notice after the 1 legged squats that she's stretching the wrong hip? It's still a good workout if you can get past the imperfections. Cathe's a tough act to follow--she's so precise in her form and she looks MUCH better than Jari, IMHO. --Yes, having a workout room is such a luxury and convenience! I feel spoiled. Oh heck, I AM spoiled;) .

Deb, I saw something about you going back to work. What exactly will you be doing? Do you have a job yet, or are you still looking? Good luck with that. I've pondered over whether or not I should go back to work and I've decided not too. I don't think anyone would hire me once I told them that I will never work evenings, weekends, or summers, and that I must be free to travel at a moment's notice whenever I want -- lol!

Lora!! Welcome to Hatesville. Oh my, thanks for the links but I could never do those workouts:eek:. I'm so lacking in coordination that I wouldn't even try something like that--lol! They do look like fun, though. Oh hey, I do have a couple of Rodney Yee DVD's (I bought a Yoga kit at Target) and I like them. I have the Am and Pm Yoga. They're about my speed. Stop by any time--we're always happy to see you :) .

Dana, yes, the glop is back:-( . I'm on an antibiotic/steroid drop called maxitrol. --Good job with your weekend workouts! I agree, I could do GS BSB every day.

I need to scoot. I have to do my workout and get ready for my appointment;( . I'll check back later.:*

I've just gotten home and washed all my grimy dishes!

That's much better. :)

Deb - That's great that you are going back to work! I bet it will be tons of fun getting out and meeting new people and doing new stuff. How exciting! Who's "qualified" for anything, anyway, eh? Anyway, get your hands on some Christi, woman! You will love her! Check out Cardio Collectibles! LOL about your B&G premix he!!....

Lora - Hey you, thanks for the links. What do you mean the yoga thread is becoming the ghost thread?! People must be in the starting the new year with holiday festivities close behind (stress on the "behind" ;) ) mode, and putting any and all of their free time into cardio rather than yoga. Wow, I have not done yoga for a while now. It's terrible! And I was on such a roll!

Dana - Nice to see you dropped in during your lunch break! I do love the Gym Style BSB, too!

Michele -

>What was I thinking when I scheduled a post holiday, get weighed and get naked appointment!?!?!?!?

Shouldn't that be get naked and get weighed?!!?! :D LMAO. I wonder what your doctor would think if she weighed you and THEN you got naked? Urgh about the rain. But just think - all that rain is going to bring some great soil and then in the spring, all the flowers and grass and stuff will be growing a-plentiful!

Okay, that was a fairly saccharin comment. Sorry. :)

Jari's one-legged squat stretch is exactly the one I was thinking of when I wrote my comment about her. LOL, obviously she never does that one at home! But I do like Jari, and I've got to give thanks since her first workout was one that inspired me to look into Cathe. Honestly though, I'm surprised that she's gotten so popular suddenly. Her first workout sort of has this underground feel to it, and I would never have guessed she would be able to strike the popularity match to such a degree!

Okay, on that note, I've got to get some sleep.

Night night!

>>Shouldn't that be get naked and get weighed?!!?! <<

Well, you would think so, but at this office they weigh you, fully clothed and in a central location, and then take you into an exam room. I guess she doesn't want to spring for a scale in each exam room. I always kick my shoes off at least, as if that makes much of a difference--LMAO!

As for rain bringing flowers...some flowers are coming up now which means they will probably die in a frost and not bloom when they're supposed to, but I do admire your dogged determination to find the silver lining in every cloud:+

Good night...sleep tight:* :*

I'm back from the doctor, finally. She is scheduling me for the works; a DEXA scan to measure my bone density, a colonoscopy because I'm over 50, a mammogram because it's time, and an echocardiogram because I have a heart murmur and my BP is always high in the office. It was 170/90 today:eek: . It's always normal at home but she wants to see if my heart is enlarged. If it is, she's putting me on BP medicine;( . My murmur isn't a big deal but I think she wants to cover herself with regards to my BP. She probably can't afford to rely on my word that it's normal at home.

I did a 20 min iTrain HIIT on my elliptical today and I'm thrilled out of my mind that my workout is done!

I have a screaming headache.

I had a donut after my appointment. Okay I lied...I ate TWO donuts:eek: :9 .

I'm going to change into my sweats and veg out in front of the TV.

See you tomorrow:* :*

ETA August, have you ventured out to Krispy Kreme yet? It's definitely worth the train ride:p :7 :9

Michele - Wow, you're getting the Deluxe Plan at Doctor Naked's office! Hey, if you're gonna get wet, you may as well get soaked, eh? Will all these glorious activities happen over a span of like a week or something?

Did the headache come pre or post donutS?

What kind of donuts were they (must you make me always ask you this question? Please, I need some details on the important things here! :D )

I'm having another one of those busy weeks, so no Krispy nothin for me yet. I've got all the info about the location written in my memo though. I just need to find a time when I can swing out of my way to get to that darn station where it is. But first I have to call and ask at what times of the day the donuts are fresh out of the oven so that I can time my arrival appropriately.

Phew, I'm sleepy. Time to dream of donuts.

Later!
