HATE - Feb 8

August

Cathlete
Hi all,

I just finished S&H shoulders LOVE! and Christi's Cardio Collectibles step portion LOVE!. I tried the step out with both risers - woo, my butt felt it! Arista, I agree that step is a great lower body workout in itself. To he!! with leg day! :D

Dana - Cheers to you for doing so well with your eating and working out!...I don't have PS, but I hate it when workouts are lopsided in count! One of the Winsors I do now and then has a different problem - the music has no beat, so one side she counts fast, and the other side she counts s-l-o-w. It drives me nuts.

Michele - What's this about soap? Did I miss something about soap?

Robin - Oh, haha, I see where the soap comes into play now...Your new washing machine will have better electricity stuff going on, so ultimately, you'll save on the electric bill! - Or so I was told when I got my new washing machine five years ago...I hope the boys feel better soon!

Arista - You, Robin, Jen and I should all go for a walk together. Better yet, there must be some kind of race we could win LOL...So what kind of animals are you thinking to get?

Diane - YAY! I'm so glad to hear your appointment was so fantastic! Sept 29! YAY! How did DH react to the photo? And Mom?

Mariah - I don't have any pets, either, but I love animals. Hey, I've got a chocolate-covered raisin stuck under my washing machine, and he can sub for a pet, along with your dust bunnies.

>i wont vacuum it up, ill let it stay and ill feed it and take good care of it so it can grow to be a big Dust Bunny

LMAO.

Jen - Glad to hear that you and Sport are doing a bit better...Thanks for asking your Chinese brokers what they call a crock pot. Only, I live in Japan!! LOL.

Terri - Your DD, so cute! How old is she again? Somehow I'm reminded of the dream Fred FIintstone has when Pebbles and Bam Bam get together.

Heather - I think you may have posted your long first paragraph about cardio in the wrong thread, just thought I should point that out to you :* ...Oooh, ooh! Yes, I did see that Christi plans to be able to ship her new workouts overseas. Yeah! HAPPY!

It's February and I'm having horrible hay fever. Hay fever. In February! What's going on?!...Anyway, have a nice day.

Hey, Michele, is the donut place going to have a special Valentine's Day special flavor?

P.S. Astronaut and diapers? Huh?

I spilled the beans to my mom! It was so great. Last night I thought I was going to have to work until 11 or 12 pm. But around 7, it looked like I could get out around 8 because things were moving quickly. So I told my mom to come over. It turned out that I didn't get off work until 9:15, and my mom was a little reluctant to come over that late (she had to drive about 20 min from where she was staying). But I convinced her to come. The main reason she was visiting was to drop off our wedding album (I know we got married a year and 1/2 ago and should have it buy now, but long story). So we were looking through the album (which is gorgeous by the way) and then said "We have a picture for you too." So we gave her the frame all wrapped up. At first she just looked at it kinda perplexed. Then she got it and was like "Really!! Really!" She was so happy and we hugged and cried and talked about it for a couple hours until it got late. She said that at first when she saw the frame said "I love my Grandma and Grandpa" she assumed it was pictures of our kittens. She calls them the "grandkittens" because we treat them like our kids. So she was confused for a minute when it was not what she expected.

We also called my stepdad, who was half asleep when we called. I explanined that I just gave Mom a frame...that says "I love Grandma and Grandpa"...that has a picture of the sonogram we took today...(he still is not getting it yet)...of our baby....

Pause...

Finally, he said, "Your baby?" He was so confused, it was funny. He was really excited though.

We are mailing off the rest of the frames this morning and then seeing DH's parents on Saturday. I am so glad we get to tell both parents (except my dad) in person. It was so funny to see my mom's reaction!

Good morning!!

Oh Diane, I got teary eyed just reading your post. Grandkittens...that's so cute! Your mom sounds adorable to me. Is this the first grandchild for your parents? How about on your DH's side? I just can't tell you how happy I am for you and Michael. I can't wait to hear how your sister reacts! Thanks for sharing your joy...I love hearing about it, I really do :)

August! somehow I feel like I haven't talked to you in ages. I looked at the clips for S&H since you spoke so highly of them. I think I'll really like that series, too. How great is it that Christi will start shipping overseas!? I imagine you'll be able to get your DVD's much more quickly than say, if you were to have a friend ship them to you... Hehehe.

What's this about soap? I have no clue what you're talking about...OH! I posted yesterday about overindulging in sweets (cake and a chocolate bar) and Robin told me to pour dish detergent over the left overs so I couldn't eat them. I did not do that...I DID eat the rest of that candy bar, though :9. My bathroom scale weighed in on that decision this morning and it wasn't pretty;(

At least I know that if we ever have a cardio haters GTG, I will not go for a walk with you, Robin, Jen, and Arista. I'll stay behind and whip up the after workout smoothies, kay?

Jen, how are you this morning? And kitty? What did you cook up in your crock pot last night?

Terri, your DD has a love interest:+. Oh boy, let the fun begin--lol! I don't envy you one bit, but oh, how cute is that? I'll shoot up a prayer for your survival.

Dana, have you evened out your ab work? --LMAO

Okay, I'm really jealous of you guys who seem to be doing so well because I'm just totally blowing it herex( ;(

Today is New Life Thursday...it is...really.

Robin, my DH is not allowed to have any say in household appliances. He knows to shut up and pony up. This is the one area where what I say goes. I'd be getting a new washer AND dryer if I were you because, if they're the same age, it's only a matter of time before the other one goes out -- that's just the way it goes every timex(. I hate spending money on stuff like that, too, but if you have to do laundry, you may as well get machines that make the task as painless as possible. I think there are nice machines in the medium price range. I subscribe to Consumer Reports online -- would you like me to look them up for you?

Heather, I just love your optimism. I'm talking about the way you referred to us, as future cardio lovers--lol! Oh my, I don't know about that. On second thought, I DO love my elliptical trainer and Cardio Coach, so maybe you're not too far off the mark.:D

I'm going to PM you about the barley but I'll mention a word or two here just so everyone can benefit from my vast research on the topic:p :7.

Pearled barley refers to the barley grain that has been polished. Pearling is done in varying degrees and the more it has been polished, the greater the loss of nutrients. Pearled barley is available in regular, medium (the most common and the one I buy), fine, and baby pearl -- regular being the least polished, retaining more of the outer hull, and baby which has lost most of the outer hull and is the least nutritious.

Class dismissed. :7

I did about 35 minutes on Eli last night. I haven't decided which workout to do today, but I received the BB series last night so I might do Eli again while I preview one of those DVD's.

I better scoot -- I've got a full day ahead of me. I'll BBL:* :* :*

Michele, I don't have time to chat right now, but saw your offer to look up washers on Consumer Report for me. That would be wonderful. I think at this point, price is the biggest factor. Hopefully we can come in below $500. LOL about the dryer. The dryer is a couple years younger and a Maytag, so I'm hoping to put that purchase off for a couple more years. Everything in the house, and in fact, the house is over 25 years old, so we've been expecting things to start falling apart. Yikes, no time to chat and I'm writing a book here. Thanks again for your research. Later haters.

Diane - !!! I also was so excited reading your post. I've never gone through or heard anyone talk about the telling-the-parents part, so it was really thrilling to read. I can just imagine how wonderful it must have been to see your mother's reaction. Thanks for sharing that with us!

Robin - Hi! Well, I can't rightly not say hi to you, now can I!

Michele -

>I imagine you'll be able to get your DVD's much more quickly than say, if you were to have a friend ship them to you...

ROTFLMAO. Oh, oh, yes, yes, I guess I'll be able to get my new Christi much more quickly in the future.,...Though, of course, it won't be as much fun :* or as climactic LMAO.

I'm so glad to hear that that glorious candy bar didn't get the soap treatment. That would have been criminal.

When the Bullet Walkers join for our race (which isn't a race, but it will appear as one), we'll be very happy to leave you to prepare some goodies for us for our return. Smoothies are great, but I'm thinking more along the lines of some of your yummy chicken dishes, with some of your yummy barley stew dishes, and then followed by that Volcano Cake you used to talk about }( :9 . And a slice of Texas Sheet Cake since I've never had it. Thank you!

:* :* :*

All right. Now I have some :+ alarming news. I think I might be sick of sweet potatoes.

My new fix - a big bowl of steamed broccoli mixed with spicy tomato pasta sauce and melted cottage cheese. :9

Good morning haters,

That is such a great story Diane!! How fun. That's great to be able to tell your mom in person. That's so funny about your stepdad... he didn't get it at first! How cute.

Robin - My fiance and I just got a new washer and dryer at one of those ding and dent centers and we saved SO much money. There was just a tiny scratch on one of them, and I can't even find the imperfection on the other one. We got Whirlpool with the energy saving features and we really like them. It only cost $400 for the washing machine. Is there a ding and dent center in your area?

August - Hay fever, huh? Sounds like global warming is in full effect. Sorry, along with being a cardio-hater, I'm a tree-hugger. So expect environmental tendencies out of me. :) I think that's why part of me is so uncertain about starting a family... what kinda world am I bringing them into?

OK, I'll stop with that negativity.

Terri - How old is your DD? Did I miss that? That's so cute!! Sorry for the stress it must put on you though. When I started dating (which wasn't until really late anyway... yep, I was the fat kid at school - and when you're only one of 10 girls in your class, ya kinda stand out!), my parents didn't really take much of an interest in it. It would've been so great if my mom would've wanted to help me with my hair, or gotten excited with me about my first date. I had a great best friend though. How fun!!

Alright, I promised myself I would plan out my day and get everything on my to-do list done... so, I better get off this board.

Good morning to everyone!! Have a great day. I'll chat with ya later.

I'm going to do Cathe's Hi-Step Challenge workout today, or go for a run/walk and do the upper body weight training from the hi-step challenge workout.

:D

OK, I"m back. I wanted to read yesterday's thread so I knew what the heck everyone was talking about.

Diane - yeah!!! I"m so glad that your appointment went well. Where does your mom live? I would not worry about the 2lbs. There willl be weeks where you might not gain anything and then weeks where you might gain more then you should. Everyone's body and pregnancy is different - so don't go by what the books say. I'm so happy for you and your DH.

August - you're sick of sweet taters??? That is odd. Bet they just aren't the same when you aren't buying them from Sanford & Son. Your new dish does sound yummy. You got in a decent workout today - good for you. What is the weather like in Japan right now that you've got hay fever?

Michele - so basically, you lied to us? You said on yesterday's thread that you PROMISED you were going to do your cardio and come to find out that you did not?????? That is is lady - you are going to have to do that insane workout that Heather wants us haters to do. You may even have to do it back-to-back if this lying keeps up! :p

Robin - sorry your washer kicked the bucket. Hope you can get a new one soon. I hated when I had to go to the laundry mat. That was horrible!!! I"m glad that Greyor is feeling better. You would think since it is so cold the germs would just die. Have fun doing IMAX 2. I actually like that one.

Arista - hey! What's on your agenda today?

Jen - are you feeling better? I didn't know you were under the weather. Your cat sounds silly. That is good news that he (or is it a she - sorry for my ignorance) is fine.

Terri - same question everyone else has, how old is your DD? That is a funny story.

Heather - are you crazy woman!!!LOL I'm gonna have to pass on that workout even though you did quite the write up on it. It is nice to meet you!

I just noticed that I use a lot of !!!! when I post. I do have a loud voice in real life so go figure. I did not get to workout last night. I took Gabe to his class so Gannon and I walked around Wal-Mart for 45 minutes. Tonight is DH's archery night so I don't know if I"ll get a workout in or not.

Add me to the fast walking group. Nobody goes walking with me when I go at work b/c I leave them. I don't want to be rude but when I have X amount of time to walk, I try to make the most of it. Actually, after going w/me one time, they usually don't ask me if I want to go again. HA! My DH will not go to the mall with me b/c he said, "You walk like an idiot". LOL And I'm dangerous in any store where there are carts involved. You'd think I was driving a race car the way I speed around with the carts. Hey, the kids think it is fun going fast in the cart.

I'll try and check back in later w/ya all! Have a wonderful day everyone! :+

Dana, I'm going to have to add you to my ever growing list of people I won't walk with -- LMAO!

I know what you mean -- I tend to use a lot of !!!!! when I post, too, and I also have a loud speaking voice. I'm definitely a screamer:eek: :7

Hey, I did my cardio yesterday. I hopped on Eli for 35 minutes and did one of the programed intervals. It kicked my booty!

August, everything tastes good with tomato sauce:9. I love broccoli but I might have to substitute Parmesan for the cottage cheese. I tend to rotate favorite foods. I'll get sick of something and not eat it for awhile and then go back to it.

I'd be happy to bring donuts and prepare one of my chicken recipes.:*

Robin, check your email when you get home. I sent you some pages from Consumer Reports. Let me know if you need any further information. I think there a few good options under $500 :)

Checking in from work... I am so busy here and I feel like crap! Taking 10 minutes to shovel a South beach diet wrap down my throat and say hello to everyone. I am going to attempt to do KPC tonight, although I'm not feeling 100% I feel like I need a good workout.

Robin- I saw your PM about the washer, car, paint, carpet... you have way too much going on. Yeah, I'm not sure what the benefits are to the front loader washers either... hopefully Michele can do some research for you & then you can share with us. I am going to need a new one before too long I think.

August- Oops, sorry for my ignorance or brain lapse... well, not sure what to do then. Maybe I'll do a google search for japanese crockpot!

Diane- That is great, I am so happy you were able to tell her!

Michele- Hey, I am here... still don't feel great but at least I am so busy here I don't have time to think! Kitty is good, spoiled as can be! I haven't made anything in the crockpot for the past few weeks, I've been a slacker-maybe I'll have to make something this weekend... have to check out one of my crockpot cookbooks!
thanks for the lesson on barley too!

Dana- I am feeling a tad better but not great, storm is girl and sport is boy, so I have one of each!!! Another fast walker... we are taking over!!

Arista, Terri and anyone I may have missed, hello and will catch up more tonight after my workout!

Goodafternoon all. I finally have some time to chat.

August, I would love to go speed walking with you and the others here who walk fast. Especially if there was a sweet potato truck ahead and one of Michele's meals waiting at home. And LOL about making Mr Choco Raisin a pet. I think he may have other ideas about that.

Michele, thanks again for washer info. I wish my DH would just let me decide. He always looks a price first (which is a good thing I guess since we have no debt and a pretty healthy retirement account). On the other hand, he knows I won't buy the most expensive one with all the bells and whistles I don't need.

Arista, no dent and ding places that I'm aware of around here. That would be the first place I'd look. The washer and dryer are in my basement, along with the recyclables, the woodburning furnace, the cat litter pans and a bunch of DH's junk. Who'd notice a little dent?

Terri, another request for your DD's age. My DD wasn't allowed to date until she was 16. Of course, she got pregnant at 19, so a lot of good being strict with her was. DH got a call from a neighbor the other evening. She needed a ride to the emergency room to pick up her 17 year old son who was picked up on a DUI. She asked him what she was doing wrong. He just laughed and said why are you asking me?

Dana, I keep trying to avoid the laundramat. I did a small load of underwear and socks last night and hand agitated them. Sort of like using a rock along the stream. I figure as long as I don't try to wash anything really dirty, that will work. LOL "cottage cheese melts?" I'll never know. I detest the stuff.

Jen, I think maybe we need to rename this the fast walker checkin. Oops, no, then Michele wouldn't be included. Take it easy with your workout tonight. I hope you feel your old self soon.

Heather, no, I haven't gone over to the dark side. Ssssshhhhh. I'm trying to take over the haters without them knowing it. Look how well it's working. Almost all of them walk fast, August loves Christie and Michele loves Eli.

I plan on doing an IMAX when I get home. Not sure yet which one. I'll let you know later.

I have just a few minutes to write, but DD is only 10!! She'll be 11 April 1. See why I'm having nightmares?? Kids are growing up way too fast nowadays. I just wonder what she's going to say when she comes home from school today.

I'll write more later when I have more time.

Terri

I sure hope cottage cheese melts I have it in my thighs and my butt and my stomach and im hoping watching what i eat and exercising regularly will melt some of it

Okay, I am back and w/o is complete- YIPPEE! I did KPC tonight, I really do like that w/o. I am planning on doing Powerstrike 1 tomorrow night but we'll see how I am feeling tomorrow, still not 100% so don't want to push myself too hard.

August- I still think the choco raisin is going to walk out from underneath the washer one of these days...

Mariah- Are you drinking plenty of water? That with also help with the cottage cheese look that I hate so much and eating "clean" helps too but I just can't seem to get away from packaged food-i eat low calorie/low fat but by no means clean. All of my lunches during the week are South Beach diet wraps out of a box and dinner most nights is either pizza from www.pizzafree.com or lean cuisine brick oven pizza. Unless I've made some chicken dish in the crock pot over the weekend then I have it for dinner at night during the week but since the wraps I eat at lunch are chicken I need a break some weeks!

Terri- WOW, talk about your DD growing up. I am still young... well, kind of, I've be 30 in May but I do still remember being that age... I agree with Robin that not going out alone w/ a guy until 15 or 16 but if you try to "keep her" from "dating" this guy now, aka talking on phone, allowing him to go to dinner with the family or a movie with you guys, she will probably just try to find ways to "sneak" around. I think being fair and setting expectations but showing her that you do care/trust her will be the best. My mom & I always had a pretty "open" relationship and instead of lying to her like my friends did their parents I would tell her the truth and she trusted me enough to give a little further since I was always honest... for example we lived by a golf course growing up. So, when I was like 16-17 all my friends would "sneak out" in the middle of the night on weekends & go there and just talk-really that is all we did it was just fun to sneak out. However, I would always go in & wake up my mom, tell her I was going there and how long I'd be gone, that way she knew where I was, what time I left, and when I'd be back. I am sure that isn't what you want to hear but kids will find ways around the rules if they feel like the parent is unreasonable.

Robin- So, did you get washer, paint, carpet, or car shopping done today?

Dane, Michele, Diane, Arista-Hope you all had a wonderful day... What workouts did everyone do today???

Well, Jen, I just got home from the appliance store. We put money down on a Maytag, but I have a couple places to check tomarrow after work. DH picked up his car, so I should have my own wheels tomarrow. The carpet will have to wait till next week. I'm glad you felt well enought to do KPC this evening. I did IMAX3.

Terri, when my DD was your DD's age, she and her friends would say they were "going out" with a boy. All it meant was they liked each other. I don't even think they passed notes, held hands, ate lunch together or anything like that. It would last about a week until they would "break up" and start "going out" with another kid.

Time for me to hit the hay with my book. Goodnight.

The only water i drink is when i exercise i keep a bottle handy
I have to force myself to drink it, but i have done it in the past so ill consider this a good reminder to "make" the effort to increase water
Thanks

Robin- Glad you at least found some time for the washer shopping, which is the more important than carpet... that can wait, clean undies can't...LOL! I wish I could do IMAX 3 but I am challenged when it comes to learning routines so I have to stick to the easier ones... is MIC basic? I think it is, I bought the DVD w/ MIC, RS, and IMAX on it-I've done IMAX & planning on doing this weekend but maybe I'll try MIC instead, I know I'll never do RS!

Mariah- YES, YES, YES-DRINK MORE WATER! I have a hard time drinking plain water (except when working out) so I add Crystal light packs to my water and work and probably drink like 6-10 bottles of that a day, I would die w/o that fluid!

Well off to watch Grey...well, maybe-I am also thinking of just turning up so I can hear it from in here and continue to snoop around on-line-I have a hard time just sitting down in front of the TV!

Terii-I e-mailed you!
