Has anyone tried iTrain mp3 workouts?

Hi y'all! :) Long time no talk to -- I have been the queen of lurkers lately, for sure.

Hey, I wanted to share some interesting info and get some feedback from you folks. I've become a big Cardio Coach fan in the last few months while I was in major knee rehab -- it has been a great way to use my elliptical trainer and stay zero-impact while I got my knees reconditioned, re-strengthened my legs and got ready to do Cathe cardio again. Even now that I'm pretty much able to do Cathe cardio when I want to, I am making myself stick with a couple of zero-impact cardios each week as a precaution, and these downloadable audio workouts have really helped me stick with that promise to myself. I get way too bored trying to watch TV on the elliptical.

Since Coach Sean hasn't come out with anything new in a while, I went looking for other mp3 workouts and found some really interesting downloadable ones over at iTrain.com. Have any of you used these?

I've tried 2 volumes of iClimb (which is paced for a stairmaster or elliptical) and one volume of iCycle (which is paced for a spin bike or stationary bike but worked fine on my elliptical). All of them are similar to Cardio Coach in general but have more contemporary & vocal music. So far I've liked them all quite a bit. There are also iTread (treadmill, obviously), iSculpt, iStrength, iStretch and other workouts that I haven't tried.

Just looking for discussion and feedback. Anybody???

Based on your recommendation, I just downloaded an itrain treadmill workout. I plan to try it tomorrow. I am so excited for it, and I thank you for your recommendation.

This will allow me to maximize the value of both my treadmill and my ipod!!

Curious to know whether anyone has tried the itrain ballet workout. Seems interesting.

thanks again!

Hey, I tried this! I downloaded two treadmill workouts. I think they are absolute genius. Grace Lazenby is amazing.

You can choose your level, powerwalking, jogging and running. I chose walking. I am still recovering from a very minor surgical procedure on my leg so I wanted to do something non-impact.

The walking was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. On both of the workouts, she has you up to a 5.0 WALKING pace. I don't know if it's because I'm a little rusty on my walking form or whether it was my leg bothering me, but I found I had to keep the pace .1 or .2 -- and sometimes .3 behind what Grace was recommending. The jogging and running paces are very fast, too. In fact, the "jogging" pace would be a running pace for me.

Still, I highly recommend these workouts. The time just flew, I sweated and I really enjoyed the music.

Caroline,

So glad you liked them! I think they're pretty well made, too. The buzz I've read elsewhere is that Grace's iTreads are EXTREMELY fast -- it's not just you who felt that way! Try the iClimbs and iCycles because they work really well on a treadmill or elliptical, too, and I like Keith Irace's voice. I'm enjoying adding these to my non-impact cardio "kit." :)

I'm surprised nobody else has tried these, since we have a lot of Cardio Coach fans around here!

Thanks Kathy!! I am going to go check them out right now. Believe it or not I just discovered the elliptical machine at the gym. I was afraid of the ones with the "ski poles"...since I am not the most coordinated person in the world. But my gym has the other kind too...and I love it. Great for these 41 year old knees!!

I just saw on another forum that itrain is coming out with new workouts. Here is the link.

I haven't tried these iTrain programs, but I think that I might. They are not very expensive and I need a little more focus when I am on cardio machines and this might be the trick. Thanks for posting about these workouts.
