Has anyone done “Hardcore Kickbox Circuit” with Janis Saffell? I want to add more kickbox to my cardio workouts. I want to know her DVD compares with Cathe’s Cardio Kicks and Kickmax, both of which I have. I also have Billy Blank’s Bootcamp DVDs and while I like them, they just don’t give me the cardio work I’m looking for.

Yes! I have this DVD. It is great! The spanish guy, I can't remember his name, is nice eye candy as well. This is a good workout, but the weight sections are not much, just warning you ahead of time. Don't buy the video just buy the DVD as it has the extras.

The guy is Janis's husband. His name is Guillermo Gómez. He has his own workout avaliable: kicbox underground. HKC is the best Janis's workout.Kicbox with weight segments.I prefer the energy of Guillermo in the kickbox segments he leads but the workout is great.

Yes. HKC ROCKS! It's a lot of fun, there's a lot of variety, it's split between kickboxing and toning (there's also a great akido add-on if you get the DVD version) that works really well. The instruction is excellent (unless you are a first timer in which case it won't be enough for you) and you'll find it hard to do anything else for a while.

RE: Has anyone done “Hardcore Kickbox Circuit” with Jan...

Thanks everyone. I've been looking at this on collage for a while now, but didn't want to buy another DVD that would just sit on the shelf.

I agree Guillermo Gómez is a hottie :9 But I just couldn't bring myself to by the DVD just because he is. If I like his style I'll probably consider his DVD at a later date.

RE: Has anyone done ?Hardcore Kickbox Circuit? with Jan...

I just bought this DVD and, due to time constraints, did the non-weighted sections only (I don't own any weighted gloves either). Maybe it's because I didn't do the weighted sections, or maybe it's because it was my first time so I didn't put as much into it, or maybe it's because I didn't use weighted gloves, but this workout was nowhere near as intense as Cathe's kickboxing workouts. It barely got my heartrate up.:-(

On the other hand, I did like the instructors, especially Guillermo. He's a lot of fun to watch! I'll have to try this again, doing the whole thing. Maybe I'll change my mind. (I just hate to waste my precious workout time on something less than I feel like doing.)

BTW, I bought this at DeepDiscountDVD. It's much cheaper than Collage and the shipping is free. If they're still having their summer sale (20% off), the discount code is "USATODAY".

Janis' kickboxing workouts (with the exception of her Quick FIx 10 mn. kickboxing)are always designed to be done with weighted gloves. The punches are a bit slower than they would be without the gloves, IMO.

I agree that it just doesn't really get my HR up much at all! I do enjoy the sections where Guillermo leads. If you're accustomed to Cathe though, it's probably too easy for you although fun for an "easy" workout.
