I think it's the heat! I'm finding it very hard to get motivated for cardio. Who wants to get hot and sweaty when you're already hot and sweaty? I think it's fine if you shelve the cardio "for awhile".
If you think your entire fitness routine is going to fall by the wayside because you aren't doing an entire program, why not do a 1/2 hour cardio, followed by half hour upper body weight training one day, lower body weight training the next? Or try mixing in yoga or pilates.
Something is better than nothing. Change your mindset, maybe you don't need all that much cardio. You might also find your appetite decreases as well and it all balances out.
