Bunbun

Cathlete
Sorry, couldn't resist. :+

Anyone have their copy yet? We ordered via Amazon, and are waiting for delivery today. When it does come, though, I am considering reading the last chapter first--I can't stand suspense. Someone stop me!

Stop it.Stop it. Stop it. You will not read the last chapter first!!
Lol. I know you won't. Let us know when you get it. And don't you dare let those fingers find the last chapter!........Kali

We pre-ordered a while back and the receipt has been on the fridge ever since. My 14 year old DD must have asked me 10 times yesterday if I knew where it was. I went to Chapters yesterday to get a birthday present and her and a friend cased out the store to find out where the back rooms were. Their detective work paid off and they jumped and giggled just knowing they were in the same building as copies of the "Half Blood Prince".:) She's still sleeping now but the book will be in her hot little hands by lunchtime and her nose will be stuck in it until the end, FUN STUFF!!!

Bunbun, behave!!!! You are forbidden to read the last chapter first:p

Take Care
Laurie :)

Dh left for Wal Mart this morning at 6am with our children to get them each a book. Took them to breakfast afterwards while I slept in just a bit and got caught up on stuff. It is so quiet right now as they are each in their room reading.

Charlotte~~

Well it's 11:25 and DD is completely and utterly immersed in Harry's world and loving it. Like Charlotte said, it's sooooooo quiet, gotta love it!

Take Care
Laurie:)

Anxiously awaiting for my copy to be delivered. I preordered from Chapters online which included delivery for today but it's noon and no book yet. Should have just gone and bought a copy this morning. Almost had my son convinced that it was being deliverd by owl during the night. LOL

We went to the Harry Potter party at the Chapters bookstore last night, lots of fun!

1:30 here and still no sign of the book. I am pissed, because I need to get out and run errands, but I don't want to chance missing the delivery.

Can you tell I'm bored today? Woke up with a stuffed head that is rapidly turning into a full-blown cold, and I don't feel like doing much except for sitting at the comp and posting here. I'm going to set some sort of personal record for number of posts in one day if I keep this up. x(

Oh, and I keep having to mute the TV because of spoilers about the book. Fox News actually *told* who the half-blood prince is--I just managed to lunge for the mute button in time. If I want to read the end first and spoil the book, I want to have it be my own fault, not something I accidentally hear on TV.

working for the post office they told us to be sure and get them out today we actually had them via UPS drop off yesterday.I will get mine at walmart I hope it don't take me a year to read like the other one.

Well, at 2:30 I decided I HAD to get out of the house, book or no book. I got halfway down the block and met our mailman, who had it, so it's here. Yippee! Haven't started it yet, though--just got back from errands and now I have to start a laundry.

I got my copy in the mail today, too. I'm another Amazon preorderer. It is now sitting patiently on my very tall stack of books I need to read. It's on top, but I've already started two other books I'd like to finish before tackling Harry Potter, because I know that once I start reading it, I won't be able to put it down until it's finished.

I received mine at 11:30, USPS delivery from Amazon. My mail lady was glad I was home, since she had a lot to deliver and didn't feel she could leave them on anyone's doorstep. I'm sure someone around here would take it if it were out!! (Lots of kids and cars in my neighborhood.)
I am in the middle of another book, so I haven't cracked my copy yet. Maybe tomorrow! Suffice it to say, I don' t think I'll be cleaning the house this weekend like I had hoped... ;)

I just got back from Walmart. It cost a little over $15. My 13 year old son is in his room, already engrossed. I've never been able to get into the books or the movies but I know lots of adults who love Harry Potter.

I like the movies but have never read the books. I met with a friend earlier and She got two copis and gave me one. Seems her bf had bought her one and she had ordered one. Do you all think I will enjoy reading this? I can't even remember what happened in tha last movie...Maybe I should rent that then read the book.

Terri

Edited to add that I just reread your message and realized you haven't read the books..so rewriting my reply. :)

The last movie won't help you with this particular book, since the movies are now 3 books behind. This newest book seems to pick right up from the last one (Order of the Phoenix)--so it would be really helpful to know what happened in that book, either from reading it yourself or asking your friend for a summary.

As for whether or not you'll enjoy it--hard to say. For me, I find that the movies work really well with the books--I don't get a disconnect between the two. So my guess is that if you like the movies, chances are you'll like the books. I've been reading the books ever since the first one came out and love them all, though I'm a big fan of fantasy fiction in general. I don't care that these books are supposed to be for kids--they're still fun to read. I'd even recommend reading all the books in order, if you have the time and energy. :)

I got my copy at 12:30 am and had it read by 5:30 am.

Man, what a book!!! WOW!!!!

Lots of answers to questions in this book, but it typical JKR fashion, she's made my ask even more questions.

That, my friend, is what I call DEDICATION!!! Don't post a thing about it, please!
I'm going to wait until at least tomorrow, so I can finish my current book. It's going to be a LONG TIME before we get the next one, you know!! ;)
Congratulations!

RHBrand and anyone else who has finished the book: PM me or maybe we can start a Harry Potter Spoilers thread? I finished today and am busting at the seams, wanting to talk about it--but the BF is reading it slowly and savoring it, and I am sworn not to ruin it for him (or anyone else here!). But, WOW...! I really would love to talk about it to folks. :)
