Harder the Music = Easier the Workout

I like to listen to The White Stripes, Motley Crue and some others, but my DD listens to stuff that I usually need earplugs for. She moved her stereo/cd player into the room closest to where I work out. So she puts something in...not sure what it was, but its never hateful or offensive. I think it might have been The Killers. Anyhow, I was in the middle of a workout and I swear I did so much better with the music that had mostly screaming and banging in it. LOL. I told her to turn it up. When I got done, I told her to turn that crap off. LOL
I had a great workout that day and think that music of hers gets my adrenaline pumping. WOW!

You find The Killers hard? Oh my. You should listen to some of the stuff I listen to.

I think you'll find that Jesus Built My Hot Rod by Ministry is a wonderful weight training track;) }(

Shelley- not sure if it was The Killers or not. She was changing CD's like I change my clothes....50 million times a day. LOL

I love hard music for running. Dh listens to REALLY heavy stuff (I call it angry man music.;-) ) and sometimes I'll hear him listening to something and think, "ooh, that'd be good for running!"

My favorite bands for running are Static-X, Slipknot, and (not really heavy, but FAST) the Hives.

I love the white stripes! That is awesome lifting music! Isn't it amazing how music makes all the difference in the world! I like Eminem, believe it or not, and I really love ACDC, Billy Squire, Shania Twain because she is so fun, and (please don't hate me) Britney Spears for some reason really gets me moving. Maybe I am a subconcious lesbian, who knows.

Great music is essential to a great w/o!

Sheesh, I am SO OLD! I don't recognize any bands out of the 80s, lol. I am not that big of a music fan and my kids are hard-core hip-hoppers, so that is about my speed these days.... I tell you, one of the funnest ways to irritate your children is to blast Journey while they are in the car! Both of mine spend the entire time ducking so no one sees them! LOL

Cheers,
Marie

Missy- Britney Spears...o.k.?? I do also like working out to Destiny's Child.

Marie- My children are embarrassed when I play Adam Ant, you should remember him, don't you?

I've been cruising the net looking for good SCREAMING music to download! Shelley - I think you mentioned Tool before but I couldn't find it. I love that stuff! Linkin Park was my favorite CD to run to a few years ago. It totally kept me moving.

Marie - my 15-yr old daughter LOVES Journey and actually likes to listen to the oldies station! But our taste varies so much from country to easy listening (gotta love Phil Collins!) to classics to pop (yes, sometimes Britney Spears, lol!) to the hard stuff. Gotta look up The Killers - never heard of them before....

This is a great thread, the only music I workout to is Cathe's. Maybe I need to start doing some of my own workouts to songs by Nine Inch Nails and such. LOL! Shelley, I love Ministry! They are a great band! They were awesome in the 80's.

Adam Ant, hah, I will have to try that! lol I think I might have some pictures of me dressed sort of like that.... how embarrassing. hehehe. I will put them on the fridge for all of the friends to see!

:)

Marie- Adam Ant is one sexy dude...at least back in the days. I haven't seen much of him lately. Maybe I might not want to. LOL

Laura,

Slipknot and Static-X are two of my favorites as well! Absolutely fabulous for running, fast walking, biking! I'm glad someone else listens to the heavy stuff besides me. :)

I like to workout to Metallica, Beastie boys, Eminem, and the most shocking is Beautiful People by Maryiln Manson...I hate him, but that song really can get you going! I usually listen to country, but it does not get you moving like the harder stuff. I have one slow song on there that is my cool down music....Yesterday by the Beatles....my favorite slow song!

I will have to check out the Killers...not heard them before.

I am into cardio music the ones who are going to make me do step or just aerobics, fast beat, I recomend to got to the internet and look for the Warp Brothers: "Power" "Blast your Speakers" "Phat Bass", let me know how did you like it? I also run with this music and I pretend I am in the lead in the NY city Marathon representing USA hahahaha and of course I win :)
The joy of moving, N
