Hardcore Rotation Checkin Thursday June 2

Morning Everyone,

This morning is another hectic morning for me. I have to leave for work early again so I got up a half hour early. I did Cardio & Weights today. After doing that month of Slow & Heavy.....I can't believe my endurance seems to have slacked a bit and that's what I used to be really good at. I'm sure I'll get right back to it though. My foot is so much worse today, as I had a very busy day yesterday at work running back and forth from my building to the hospital all day. It feels like it's sprained or something. I hope it's not a tumor (just kiddin' ....but these things cross your mind as you age).

Have great workouts everyone.

WD: I know you like long tough workouts and you can tell by your body!! I wish I looked as good as you. I guess I'm gonna have to start getting up at 2:00 am instead of 2:30 am......we'll see......maybe for the summer, eh???

Glogal: My goals for June are to get thru this hectic month at work while maintaining my workout schedule and getting enough sleep.......No really....as usual, I'd love to lose a few pounds, flatten my lower abs, lose a bit of weight thru my butt and thighs and get a more "overall muscular defined body". Anything else??? ha ha

Hi Everyone,

I did Timesaver GS chest/tris and Timesaver GS Back/shoulders/biceps.
I'm a little shakey trying to type this.

Lora, C&W is my favorite workout. I hope your foot feels better. Try some ice and rest for it. Take Care.

Have a great day Everyone!

Elaine:)

Hello...

I need to introduce myself as I neglected to do so yesterday. I am posting here because someone was going to start a June Rotation Checkin, but we were invited to post here.

I'm fairly new to the forum but not to working out. I just turned 40 and am a married mother of two daughters. I'm personal trainer and a group fitness instructor. As soon as I get the nerve and know-how, I'll post pictures.

Just started doing Cathe about 6 months or so ago and I just love her!! She is absolutely awesome!!

So...not doing the June rotation yet, will start next week.

Today, I ran about 3 miles as I'm tapering for my race this weekend. Tonight I will teach an interval/weights class for an hour.

Have a great day!!

hello everybody!
today's workout: did cathe's MIC-hi/low segment and added gymstyle-shoulders. Great workout. I was dying during the hi/low segment. Man, that lady keeps going and going. She's like the energizing bunny! LOL..

Marietta: I'm thrill to find out you are an group fitness instructor. I am too!!! Just started in January. Do 2 classes/weekly. I'm curious about your interval/weights class that you are doing tonight. what kind of moves and stuff do you? where do you get your routine from?? we have to make up our own. Frankly, I'm from a small town and we just opened up a fitness center less than a year ago. So, we are just trucking along and learning along the way. Let me know..any info is greatly appreciated! TIA!

take care:)

Hi Gloria!

Thrilled to meet you as well! I also teach two classes per week. The Tuesday classes are more cardio focused and Thursdays are Interval/weights.

I started by teaching classes at my church about 10 years ago and the rest is history. It's best to learn in a comfortable environment...what you have is the ideal setting.

What I do is very similar to what Cathe does in the HTC w/o. I have a CD that I use that has 3 minutes for step and then 1.5 minutes for weights. That way I don't have to use a watch I let the music tell me what to do. I found that my classes really loved that format and plus they get the best both worlds. I don't always use those types of CDs but just about any CD will do. Sometimes I do kickboxing segments and other times I do step segments. Once I get the heart rate up pretty high, we pick up the weights for an active recovery.

Now that I have the Cathe Videos, I have been using some of her intensity blasts and or some of the step combinations and then combining that with weight training. Does that make sense??

Solara: I forgot to mention this in my post this morning, but I can relate to the "house stress" situation you're in. Believe me, I've got my share of stories also, but if it helps you any......just know that when things like this usually happen in my life....it seems as if God steps in and everything ends up as fate would have it.

Does this make sense? I don't know if I'm explaining it correctly...but I guess what I'm saying is that I've had some major life changing things happen in my life that ended up working out the better than you think it will. My prayers are with you.

Marietta:
thanks for your reply! Yes, it makes perfect sense to me! I'm kinda doing the same thing as you. I got my idea from cathe's bootcamp. I start off w/ a warmup, then proceed to do a hi/low cardio, upperbody, lowerbody, abs and repeat 2 more times. Like you, sometimes, I do step aerobics and kickboxing. My main problem is my music. I just ordered some tapes from dynamixmusic.com. Hope they come in soon.

thanks for your help...it really did help me!

Hi CheckIn friends!

Today I did Gymstyle Legs, Core Max #1 and Stretch Max #1. I'm fighting a cold/sore throat (AGAIN!!) and the blues, so it took a lot energy to get thru these but I'm feeling much better for staying with my program. I've also accepted the NO SWEETS FOR A MONTH CHALLENGE and haven't had any slip ups or cravings. Which is commendable because I am a HUGE STRESS EATER!

Lora & Sabrina ~
Thank you for the encouraging words and for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. We made an offer on another house (which I like better than the first one). If the offer isn't accepted, we may just have to require the owner's of the first house to honor our contract. The buyers of our house want to close around 7/17-18 so we really don't have time to start the whole house hunting, make an offer, accept/reject, mortgage application processes over again. This couple has really thrust us between a rock and a hard place and I'm going thru all the textbook emotions: shock, anger, sadness. I have complete faith that God has a plan for us. He is in complete control. I surrendered control to Him 10 years ago. He's seen us through bigger trials than this. I trust Him completely. Please continue to lift up our situation in prayer. Thank you.
