Morning Ladies -

This morning, right before I started working out, I decided I'm going into work the early shift, as I'm not feeling well, so I did a short workout. I only did TurboJam Turbosculpt (40 min). I've been wanting to try that cuz I've heard it compared to Slim Series. It was an okay workout, but not quite as intense as Slim Series. You work your arms and legs at the same time, so that makes it good. I only used 5 pounders for most arm and leg exercises, as I'm doing a light day today. I did go heavier on lats and chest though. They only used 3 pounders.

I didn't sleep well last night. I have horrible sinus drainage, and my throat is feeling like I have swollen glands...probably from my sinuses. It's cold and rainy here, but going up to 65 today and then snow the rest of the week.....yuk.

Terry - what kind of music does your son play? Hard rock?

Nicole - sorry your son is sick. Yes, I think I'm going to do my Firm 3's this week with some Turbojam and treadmill thrown in with a Cathe aerobic. I might start a Cathe rotation next week depending on what comes in the mail and how I feel.

Have great workouts everyone. I'll try to check in from work.

Hey Everyone,
Today I did 40 min. KPC and Firm it up Floor workout!! (Terri I think you are on to something there:D I really like the floor work of the SS's.

Lora I think it is the season for Sinus's:( Hope you get well quickly!!

Well I gotta go,

Take care,
~Nicole

Morning Ladies!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Did anyone fight the crowds on Black Friday for some shopping? I did! The toy store was terrible. My MIL had to do her shopping for the boys. Plus we went to several other stores and I was surprised at how well the boys did.

I have been trying to get some studying done over the weekend so I have not been on the forum to check in. I have class three times this week and next week.

How is everyone feeling?

Terri-Tell the band thanks for signing my cd. I appreciate it!

I better get the boys off to school. I will check back in later!

Have a great day!!

Happy Monday Everyone!

I haven't checked in for a couple of days, so I'll pick up where I left off. Saturday, I did GS back, then S&H back starting with the db's pullovers, then went back to GS biceps and stretch. I ran 3 miles on the treadmill and did CM#3. On Sunday I did LL and GSL floorwork and stretch. Later I did Rodney Yee Power Yoga (flexibility). That was 30 minutes.

Today I overslept, so I plan on doing GS-CT and shoulders. I'll see about some cardio as my legs are pretty sore from yesterday's leg workout.

Lora ~ We have the same weather here. :-( My little guy has a cold right now. I don't think he needs to go to the dr. yet.

Terri ~ I got the CD. I can't wait to listen to it. Thank you! Shipping was included in my CD price, right?

Nicole ~ So sorry about your son. Let us know how he's doing.

Sabrina ~ You're brave going out after Thanksgiving! ;-) We always stay home and do the lights outside, etc.

Susan ~ How was your Turkey day and family?

Marietta ~ Good luck at the dr. Everything OK?

Diane Sue ~ Glad you had so much fun with your family. It's sad to see everyone go isn't it? I did OK with eating on Turkey Day, but not the next day! :-( My MIL sent leftovers. :9 Oh well, I don't feel guilty about it (too much).

Have a great day everyone!

Well it's nice to see everyone back after the long weekend. Today I will do Shape it up and a run. Then I will do gymstyle BSB. I never got around to doing turbo jam abbs yesterday so I will give it a shot today.

Lora-I would say my sons music is Rock but not heavy metal. There is a mp3 you can listen to on his website. Karmaghost.net
Sabrina-No problem and the cd is on it's way back to you now.
Dallas-Glad you got yours. How was your weekend?
Nicole-Is your son feeling better? Did you get the cd? I am having a memory lapse today! I think you sai dyou did.
Marietta-Hope to see you back today and that your appt goes well
Susan-Where are you today? :)
Diane Sue-I hope all is well with you. Sounds like you and your grandson had fun.

Hey ladies the limited is having a 40 percent off sale on jeans. They are the perfect fit in my opinion. Not a super ow rise jean. Sits just below the belly button. I love the way they fit! They are called the cassidy jeans. I highly recomend them. I was so excited o find jeans that I like that don't sit just above the crotch:)

Terri

Speaking of jeans. I got a pair from the Gap that I LOVE. They fit me really well. They are low-rise curvy flares. They only are a bit low though. I never thought I'd need the curvy fit, but I guess that's the area God gave me when he was passing butts out. (LOL) I got passed up in the upper body department though. I love the Gap jeans because they don't shrink at all and they are made really well. They cost $58.00 though.

Thanks Terri for the jeans tip! I'm always on the hunt for a nice pair of jeans. Lora, I have Gap jeans, but I think they are low rise boot cut. I like them, put they have that stretch in them. By mid-day they are so stretched out and falling down! This has just started happening though. I can't wait to check out those jeans!

Hey, I did all those push ups on my toes in GSCT with only one pause between 8 and 6 reps. I had to add an extra 20 second rest! I was so happy. The last time I did it I had 2 or 3 extra pauses.:7

Dallas

Great job on the push-ups Dallas...That is one workout where I really feel good when I'm done with it.

Hey guys...I really got sick over the weekend. My stomach hurt so badly I had to go the hospital. They examined me and ran some test, but could not come up with anything wrong. They scheduled me for an ultrasound this morning just to make sure. The person that performed the ultrasound couldn't tell me anything, but she did say that my Gall Bladder was fine. Which was one thing the doctor was concerned with. We are now thinking maybe Acid Reflux?? I'll have to make an appointment with my doctor. I've never had anything like this and do I don't know what the heck is going on...be glad when I know for sure.

After going to the hospital and remaining pretty sick Friday night up to the point of finally throwing up...I began to feel better Saturday morning. I did not workout on Saturday.

I worked out yesterday and today and am doing just fine.

Sorry for being long-winded...just letting you know what's going on with me.

Have any of you guys heard of this??

Dallas - if you buy Gap jeans, you have to buy them to fit a little snug, as they do stretch out. That's what happened to me. I bought a size 8 a bit big, as I thought they'd shrink and then I had to go back and buy a size 6. At least I have a pair of fat jeans now.

Marietta - I have acid reflux. What are your symptoms? I think stomach pain is caused more from irritable bowel. You can have pain with reflux, but from my past experience, it's been chest pain and pressure moreso than pain. The symptoms sometimes mimic a heart attack. You can also experience heartburn. I also have a lot of cramping and stomach pain, but the doctor tells me that is from irritable bowel. I've also gotten nausea from my reflux. I take Prevacid for it.

Lora - my symptoms were pressure in my stomach and very painful cramps. I did not have any heartburn at all.

It was weird because I was holding in my food all day, but my dinner did not sit well at all. I could not get comfortable until I "threw" it up...weird.

They did prescribe me some Prevacid and I'm taking one a day....so far so good.

What's the difference between Acid Reflux and Irritable Bowel?

Thanks for the info...you have been very helpful. I feel better now with the information you have provided.

Acid reflux is regurgitation of stomach acids that backfire into the duodenal canal and thru the eipgastrium into the throat (or in other terms -- stomach acids backfire up into your throat). In severe cases, you can experience severe burns in your esophagus and require surgery, but most cases you have mild sore throat, hoarseness (from the acids in your throat). I know a lot about this, as I worked for pulmonologists who treated it, as reflux is connected with asthma. The stomach acids can also make asthma worse from forcing the mucous back into your throat. Anyway, intense pressure is another symptom . The pressure can feel like it's in your diaphragm area and radiate into your chest or shoulder and arm area (sort of) ....especially if you've eaten a bit of a largish meal (on your standards) and sometimes bending over (upside down) after eating will bring an attack on. Other common irritants are citrus fruits or any foods that are acidic, i.e. tomatoes, vegetable juice, orange juice, oranges, grapefruits. I always got attacks when I drank OJ for a few days straight. Asprin, caffeine and chocolate can also exacerbate the condition. I've experienced most of these first hand also. I have felt nauseous before from it and I think it may have caused me to throw up before also. Try to avoid the above things that can contribute to an attack and also don't "stuff" yourself. They suggest eating several small meals a day....which I'm sure you already do. Also, I take Nexium for my reflux.....I used to take Prevacid but then it quit working. One last thing a doctor may tell you to do is to sleep with your bed tilted. They tell you to put 2 by 4's under the head of your bed....thus helping the stomach acids to drain down into your stomach when you sleep....because when you sleep...you lie flat and that is bad for the condition. They also suggest that you drink a couple large glasses of water when you first get up to flush the acids down into your stomach from lying flat all night.

Irritable bowel is a condition where you bowel goes into spasms. It can be made worse from stress, hormones or you can just have bouts of worsening and times that it is better. Certain foods cause it to act up. Your bowel actually knots up (at least mine does) and has been so severe (in my younger years) that I had to sit in a hot tub and take a stomach medicine to try to get the spasm to release. Now days, I have more frequent bouts of diarrhea, gas, cramping and stomach pain. Everyone is different. Some people have bouts of constipation and diarrhea and other people just have one or the other. There is no known cure or medication that makes it goes away, but it can be helped with diet and a mild antispasmodic for your bowel, such as Librax. I hope I didn't bore you with details.

Please feel free to ask me something if you don't understand. I have a LOT of experience with these things. They run in my family.

Wow Lora...you do know you stuff!! This is so helpful...

The one thing that does stand out is the fact that this happened after I had eaten larger meals. I think that is my trigger. I also eat kinda fast which is something that I've been trying to work on. I also noticed at the hospital when I was lying at an angle I felt better...when I laid flat in my bed at home...I thought I would be better off dead!!

I think I may have a milder case of the Acid Reflux that is triggered by eating too much. My diet is pretty clean and I generally eat several small meals...but I do have my moments. I now have motivation to not overeat...It won't be too hard because I hated that feeling...it was horrible.

Thanks again....this means more than you know!!

Good evening
I have started this three times today and gotten sidetracked. Today I started with the treadmill and cardio coach #3, stopped at the cooldown and did MIC step, S&H legs & shoulders minus the w/u. I wasn't sure if I could do the leg workout as my legs have been really feeling the results of running on the treadmill.

Dallas, when I cook the dinners I usually send the food home with the family:) That way I don't have that temptation there.

Marietta, Lora gave a good rundown of acid reflux. I take Nexium for mine. Large meals are a real problem for me. Also chocolate and spicy foods.

Terri, I used to go to the limited for good fitting jeans. Victorias secret has been another place that works for me. I recently went hunting for skirts and dress slacks and had a real hard time finding some that fit. I got a size 1 at Old Navy and had to move the button over so I didn't feel like they were falling off. I don't mind a slight low rise but have had to deal with a lot of pants that were real low just to get smaller sizes.

Hi to everyone
