Hardcore Halloween Check in 2009

Cathlete
I am getting this started. Having some coffee and then I am off to do some cardio and stretching. Since we are in a new area I bought a lot of halloween candy. I hope I am not stuck with too much of it. I just don't know what to expect. I will be back in awhile:)

Ugh.....woke up again and didn't want to roll out of bed. My back is killing me and I feel like I'm fighting a cold. I, again, forced myself to workout. I did a new DVD....Petra Kolber's Bootcamp Boogie. Workout was 65" and I burned 720 calories. I missed cue's for a couple of intervals, as my baby kitty, Brooklyn, wanted to play. She likes me to box with her and she likes to paw and jump at me while I'm jumping up and down...so I played with her while bouncing around. She's always loved to do this! It's sort of funny. I had an okay workout. Max HR was 162...but only went to 153 for a couple of the intervals. I don't think I had much in me!

I wanted to do yoga for my back, but I ran out of time, as I work late tonight. I hope I have some customers tonight with it being Halloween. I always get the sucky hours. Hopefully, that will change with my new boss. She's pretty nice.

I wanted to also mention something that happened at work the other day.
The one girl who works down in Men's Fragrance is single with 2 children and struggles as a single mother. Totally her choice to have 2 children without having a husband....probably from different fathers also. Every time she has a conversation with me, she makes some sort of comment about the fact that I don't have children, life must be great, I have loads of money, no worries, blah...blah...blah.

The other day, I went to Buckle at lunch and bought a few Affliction and Sinful tee's for the concert, etc. The Ed Hardy Rep wanted to see them, as she loves Buckle....so I showed them to her. Then, the Men's Fragrance girl says, "you should buy me something since you have all of this money to blow cuz you have no children". I say something like, you made a CHOICE to have children....to which she replied "A good choice, unlike someone who doesn't have children.....a BAD CHOICE". I NEVER get like this at work (as I'm the type of person that I'll take pretty much crap from someone....but once I've had it, I go off), but I turned to her and said PLEASE don't EVER say anything to me about not having children ever again. Every time you see me you make a comment and I'm sick of it. You don't know my history or anything about my life and I'm 50....so I've got plenty of history! Her mouth dropped open and she apologized. I was not nice about it and was quite loud.

Anyway, yesterday the Ed Hardy rep asked me if I was feeling better and said she has never seen me like that. I laughed and said, yes, I felt better immediately and then I explained the situation to her. I guess that will teach that B#@ch to mention it again. Why do people have such a problem with women like me that don't have children? Especially if they don't know my situation.......as perhaps I can't have them and wanted them desperately....plus it's nobody's business. We all make our own choices in life and we must live with the consequences. VENT OVER.............sorry for that. thanks for listening.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend....rest day or workout.

I need to start picking a designated day every week to do only yoga and force myself into 1 rest day a week. I'm terrible about that.

Today was cardio and I almost didn't do anything. Woke up with a horrible headache, this PMS shit is killing me this month. I've had cramps for a week now along with horrible headaches. Yeesh. But I took a couple Aleve and an hour later I felt 100% better. So I did Press Play - something I committed to doing with some people on Cathe's OD forum - and I had a great workout up until Challenge #4. I only was able to do half of it due to my left hip flexor again. It's been fine this week so I'm assuming the treadmill is what is aggrevating it. :(

I couldn't do anymore, even though I really tried to finish the challenge. Kind of upset about that, but I thought it would better to quit then to pull something really bad.

Workout was dedicated to my mom and dad so that made me do the challenges that I was able to do at my fullest.

HR STATS:
52 minutes total
3 minutes below zone
8 minutes in zone
41 minutes above zone
445 calories burned
3.25 miles travelled

Glad I got it in, I'm sure I'll be eating plenty of candy today. We have a bon fire party to go to this evening so I'm sure there will be tons of food there.

Sonya - That was so sweet of your dh to get you that bracelet. That was really cool of him! And I'm looking forward to your new pics.

Linda - Nice workout yesterday. 50# pullovers are very impressive. Do you get pains in your neck and shoulder area the next day after doing those? Pullovers seem to aggrevate that area for me.

Diane Sue - Hope you get a lot of kids. We usually get a lot here. It's suppose to be cold tonight.

Lora - I am so glad you put that *itch in her place. I HATE when people assume that just because you don't have kids you have a lot of money. And I HATE the snide remarks people make about people who don't have kids. I can so relate to that. So good for you!!! Sorry your back is hurting. Hope it gets better.

Hope you all have a great Halloween! I'm done now until Monday!

Hi Ladies!

Lora, I hope that girl at work is done with her stupid commentary about kids. How tacky to say you should buy her something cuz she has kids and you don't. She's obviously bitter, but she's made the decisions in her life that got her wher she is. Glad you told her what's on your mind.

Debbie, I'm sorry you get cramps for a week--thank goodness for Aleve!

Here's what I've been up to the last few days with workouts...

Wednesday---Pyramid Lower Body, pyramid up premix
Thursday---yoga
Friday---nothing, thank goodness, I was so tired from work

Workout today was Kettlebell Swings each round was 20 reps each 15's, 20's, 25's, 35's 15's alternating 3 sets for a total of 300 swings. 100 calories
Then I did Tracey's Hi/Lo Med ball med ball premix 51 minutes 345 calories, followed with Kimberly Spreen's Cardio Combat Surge med ball premis 31 minutes 231 calories. I added a few kettlebell swings at the end to make a total of 703 calories 40% fat. Workout was 1 hr 35 minutes. DH and I went out to the local museum which was open this morning and drove aroung to check out a few thing locally. Talked to children to arrange a dinner next Saturday here. Now I need to go over recipes and still have not went to the grocery store. Anyone ever bought pizza from Papa Murphy's?? Can't decide if I want to do that or cook dinner myself. I will make some sort of salad no matter what though.
We went to one of the local restaurants across from the museum for lunch. I got the grilled veggies for lunch with iced tea. Those were some greasy veggies. Hopefully it was a healthy fat. I will learn that extensive menu one of these days:confused:

Debbie, I saw that some on open discussion were doing press play for halloween:) I was tempted but thought my feet needed a break from the treadmill. Was sure tempted:) Debbie if it seems slow I may just dump loads of candy in those treat bags.

Lora, sometimes people just don't understand choices made or other people's finances. That was rude of her to say that. She should have apologized. I probably would have not said anything myself though. Takes a lot to get me to go off on anyone. I try to look at everyone and understand where they are coming from knowing that there is a reason why they are acting like they are. I am sure she is glad she has children but finances for her are tough and she wishes that she could buy the things that you are. Probably some jealousy there.
BTW I like some of the Ed Hardy Stuff is cool. Did you get anything new at the Buckle?? I used to go there often. I really need to go get some new jeans.

Hermia, I really do like the Pyramids. Nice workout.

Ed Hardy always makes me think of Jon Gosselin...isn't it Ed Hardy he's always wearing? I think he's pretty much the biggest loser.

Today's workout was Tracey's Step Sweatfest first half, and then the balance series from her Yoga Solutions. Now off on a date with boyfriend, yay! We haven't been out, just the two of us, for nearly a month.

I am so happy that I do not have to much candy left. I kind of hung onto the last of it because I was thinking that I was going to run out:0

Hermia, I pay so little attention to the media and these people. I kept hearing John and Kate and wondering who they were talking about. Most of the pictures of him I have seen he was wearing a suit. But I did see one pic of him in a butterfly t shirt with pink shorts. I have no clue what brand he is wearing but it does not look good IMO.
