Morning Fit Ladies -

This morning I did P90X Shoulders & Arms and Turbo Jam Ab Jam with ankle weights and medicine ball. I listened to my own music (still on a Buckcherry kick).

All of a sudden, I started feeling sick. My stomach is hurting something fierce. I hope I'm not coming down with anything. It may just be from stress yesterday. My boss was treating me badly all day and in the afternoon, I sort of "went off" on her. She tried to send me home for insubordination cuz I told her I wasn't going to talk to her while she was treating me this way. She finally backed off, but I hate getting like that and so upset.

I'm feeling really tight this week. I need to do more stretching and yoga. I've decided I'll do the Recovery Week next week and then I'll have 4 weeks to hit P90X weights again hard before I leave for vacation. I think I'll incorporate some Core Secrets in my recovery week this time, as I'm a bit sick of Core Synergestics.

Diana Sue - Is the P90X Stretch good? I'm thinking I'll have to take a rest day next week during the recovery week and use it since I'm feeling so tight. I only used it once or twice when I first got it and can't remember.

Have great workouts everyone. I'll try to check in from work, but I don't know if it will be possible today.
 
Good morning,
Todays workout will be Step Blast/SJP ciruit 81 min. premix,plus MM push/pull premix. The last two weeks I went back & did the step portion of SJP as well before going into the Push Pull work. This gives me 1 hr of cardio. School starts today so no grandchildren this a.m.. It is different for me as this is the first year they are all in school all day and no homeschooling.

Lora, I really like P90X stretch. I used part of it Monday because my shoulders and neck felt tight. It sort of warms up and moves from top to bottom. I really wish these had mix and match windows or something so when there is not enough time for the whole thing you don't have to forward through them. BTW I keep adding portions of Yoga Shatki in and this time when I did bends and twists I did not push so hard to get into the more advanced poses and did not have soreness. I really think this is key to the problem I was having before.

Had a great workout today, I sure am glad tomorrow is my rest day. I will be needing it.

This is what I did today, by the time I got to the fourth set I was fried with each exercise:

4 sets/12 reps - 90 sec. rest

Back Lunges - 65# (this was hard!)
One Arm Dumbbell Rows - 30#
Hamstring Curls - 47.5#/45#/40# (I only did three sets of these because I felt a real uncomfortable tightness in my low back. This exercise seems to irritate my low back)
Barbell Military Press - 45#/40#/40#/40#
Incline Alternate Dumbbell Curls w/twist - 15#
Lying Tricep Dumbbell Extension - 15#

Felt each exercise big time. This was a great routine.

Diane Sue - Great workout yesterday! Your ab work amazes me. How is your puppy?

Lora-sorry you had a crappy day at work. That boss of yours really sounds like a piece of work. I hope you feel better.

Diane Sue-I plan to really work the abs today, and do those roll-outs, OK, well try them LOL! Sore is goood I think! Last night I was amazed when I leaned over and felt obliques! It was weird since I have never had them before LOL!! Totally cool!
Yeah, that bike ride was cool. I too, don't want to ride on the main streets. I will just use my mom's bike for now, till I buy one myself.
I hope the kids have a good day at school. I can't wait for Chase to start pre-school.
Oh yeah, I almost fainted when I came home last night---my DH was on the TM!!! His doc gave him a talkin to about being healthy, since he is 33, he needs to start. I was real proud of him. I hope he might ride the bike with me sometime too.

So today I am doing.......not sure yet other then abs. I am supposed to do a challenge circuit, but I am really sore, so I will wait till later to decide. I might just do abs and some yoga, and maybe a ride later. I still want some sort of cardio.

I am having a tired day.
Did GS legs last night
Squats 60#
Lunges 12#
Slow low ends 10# these killedme
Deadlifts 45#
I am feeling it today
Tonites gameplan is GS Chesttri/abwork and 30 min on the treadmill.
Hope i can wake out of this.

I did abs from PUB, ME, and C&W. I also tried those barbell roll outs on my knees. Well, the few I could do with proper form were burners. I really need to practice these since I kept trying to pull the bar in with my shoulders. Practice, practice.

Diane Sue- does the weight on the barbell make a difference in difficulty?

I am still sore, but I do hope to do some cardio later. I have fire drill tonight, so that might not happen. if not, then I will consider this a rest day. We will see.

I have a hard time doing roll outs on my stability ball let alone a weight bar. Does this hurt the low back? I'd love to give them a try but I'm afraid it might irriate my back.
 
I am not sure about the back, but I am slowly realizing it could hurt the shoulders! My right shoulder/neck area is slowly starting to ache, not in a good way. I guess form is MAJOR important in these. I probably should have payed a little more attention. I need to work up to these and go slower with them next time.

Anne, this is a link that Diane Sue originally posted. Scroll down and you will see them. They are harder then they look. I will try to practice them as much as possible. Just be careful and don't try to be a superhero like I did. Pay close attention to your form and use your core, NOT your shoulders!!
I am glad you are feeling better!! Being tired sucks. My doc upped me back up to 5 mg of prednisone from 1mg and it has made a great improvement.

Hi Ladies - finally home from prison ....I mean work! What a day.

I have to be careful with those rollouts so I don't strain my shoulders or neck doing them. I worked my way up to them. I've also recently worked my way back into doing tricep dips but I make sure I keep my shoulders back and down. The pushups are what still make my disc pain flare up....no matter how I watch my form!

My shoulders are getting more definition and slightly shaplier (which is good) - but now I want my biceps and triceps to catch up with my shoulders. What specific exercises, methods and Cathe DVDs are best for biceps and triceps? Pyramids? Should I add in some preacher bench biceps curls or what? Any ideas?
 
I don't really have suggestions, because I want to know the same things! I am finally starting to see def in my shoulders too. I have always hated my round shoulders, but now they look good. I check them out in the mirror all the time LOL!!
My bis and tris look good when I flex, but I want moreLOL! I need to lean them a little bit more too.

Good evening,
I did the same workout that I have been doing the last two weeks except I stopped at the stretch and did Stretch Max w/ the ball. DH and I had a day together w/o the grandchildren so we went to a movie.

Maeghan, if you feel the barbell rollouts in the shoulders maybe you should go lighter and not extend the arms to far. It does not cause problems for me. I did start out at a low weight though. Doing it to heavy is like when I thought I was so advanced I could just pick up a heavier weight plate and do crunches. We really don't want to pay for being a super hero:)

Debbie, if you do try these I would start very light and see how it works. Maybe do it on the knees first. Do you do Pikes? Think how that feels in your back. You really have to concentrate on using the core and not something else.

Lora, I think preacher curls on the ball and concentration curls are great for biceps. Best for Triceps would be dips with weight, and tricep presses, and lying extensions. I really liked those throw the bomb? on P90X and using the chair in P90X.

Thanks Diane Sue. THat is good advice. My neck/shoulder feels alright now. I hope it is alright in the morning LOL! I will definately be careful next time. I do like the move for strengthening my abs.
I rarely do preacher or concentration curls, so they would be really good to incorporate in my WO's. I haven't tried dips with a weight yet. I will next time.
