Morning Fit Ladies -

This morning I was dragging and didn't feel like working out, so I did my favorite workout....Seasun's Straight Up Step. I still don't have it down perfectly, but I'm getting there. There's still a couple combo's towards the end that I need to work on. This work out always makes me feel better.

I'm a bit nervous about Seasun sending me Rock Steady Step to try. I don't know if I'll be able to learn it! I've heard so much about it. She said I could try it for 3 weeks and pay for it if I decide to keep it.

Have great workouts everyone and I'll be back later.

Diana Sue - Did you see my post from last night? I figured out how to burn the digital pics onto a CD. It wasn't that difficult. Thanks much. (ETA - I just saw your post about TurboJam where you state you add your toe weights to Ab Jam......How does using the toe weights differ from using ankle weights for intensity? I usually use ankle weights and now I'm wondering if there's a reason I need those Jolie weights that I never ordered. Also, do you have the link to purchase them anywhere?)

Diet Question - Are whole wheat and whole grain breads the same? Is one better than the other? Is whole wheat as bad as white?

Charlotte - I emailed you the Soundcheck pic's from Buckcherry. I have a few more pics but they have a few of me making faces and with my eyes closed. If you promise not to make fun.....I'll send you the other set. You can't show the dorky ones to anyone though.

I ordered this step workout on Sunday. It looks interesting, but I don't know if I'll pick up the coreography very quickly.

Good Morning,
Lora, I did see your post last night. I have been nursing a headache for several days and had come back from seeing My Super Ex Girlfriend. I was glad to here you figured out the pictures. I just wanted to go to bed and figured I went comment this morning. As far as the Jolies I think I got mine at fwonline.com I don't think they have them anymore. You would have to hunt them down as I think they were being discontinued. I like that you don't have them moving around on you when working out. It is just a little less awkward for some things. They also have a little velcro pocket for money or house keys if someone wants to wear them outdoors walking or something.

Today I plan on doing Slow & Heavy legs and shoulders and maybe Low Max. I stepped on puppy toys and my heel has been acting up. It was better till after yesterdays workout. I will check back later.

Hi to everyone,

Hi ladies,

Finally got a chance to get on here, but will post it in the morning as it's late now. Had a massage after work and then when I got home, worked DH on the Bowflex.

This morning's workout was All Step and then I added on the step from CTX Power Circuit plus abs and planks.

Lora, I'm sure you will learn the choreography on your new Seasun workouts. You are one determined woman so no doubt in my mind at all.

Charlotte, you are an animal with the weights! Glad you are enjoying the bike. Wish I was back there and we all could go for a ride. Yes, we have one hill here that has like a 21% grade for a very short section. Trouble is, it's like 11% for most of it, not letting up and then just shifts upward. It's a killer. I might try it tomorrow, but it's been so hot here. Think I will go later in the evening. This is what works for me on this particular hill. I (physically and mentally) reserve the 3 lowest gears I have on my road bike (I have a triple chain ring up front, 9 gears behind). I start out very slow, not letting my heart rate get up too high. As the road gets steeper I shift down to an easier gear, finally, when it juts heavenward, I use my very lowest gear. I also weave back and forth a little on the road and if I can, stand up to pedal. Believe me, it's not a pretty picture, but I'm determined to make it without stopping. LIke I said, I start out slow so I don't redline and blow up. That's the key for me. As far as eating more after riding, no it doesn't really make me a lot more hungry. Think my body has adapted to it.

Debbie, your vacation sounds absolutely fantastic!!! Sounds like you are having a relaxing time too. Good for you for getting some well-deserved rest and good sleeps.

Sandy, a mountain bike will do on roads and trails, but if you are riding with others that have road bikes, a mountain bike probably will be too slow and you won't keep up. I have both, but once I tasted the speed and lightness of a road bike, that was it for me. I don't ride my mtn. bike near enough and it is fun when I do, but road biking is my first love. An entry level road bike will probably cost $600 on up. I bought one like that about 6 years ago and a couple years later, upgraded to one costing me much more (carbon fiber), but I knew I loved the road biking and would stick with it. I think most of the brands, Trek, Giant, GT, to name some of them are pretty similar. A good bike shop will be able to help you. Also, be sure to save money for a helmet, gloves, pump, patch kit, spare tube, water bottles, stuff like that.

Hi Maeghan, sounds like you have been busy. Yes, there are ladies on here that can really hoist some weights, but I'm definitely not one of them. Do you ride your horses? Sadly, I've decided to sell my QH gelding. I just have finally (after 23 years) decided that I'd like to be horse-free for a while and not be so tied down. It makes me sad, but I think this will be best.

Hi Susan CM, I haven't had time to check in much lately, but with the Tour over now, it should get better. Glad to see you drop in.

Hi Diane Sue, another fabulous workout for you. Hope you had fun at the Library. I remember as a child going and loving it. I don't take the time to read anymore. Bad me. Hope Jasmine is doing well. We used to have a lab puppy that chewed everything outside, but not in the house. She'd chew hoses, lattice, firewood, you name it. She finally grew out of it. Just read about your heel. Hope it doesn't give you problems for long. We have so many toys around the house for our dogs, looks like a toddler lives here.

Must go now.

Good Morning Maniacs!!!

Yesterday I went for 10 miles on the bike in the morning. Seen a buck cross the road...beautiful! Later went on to work chest/back and then do coremax 2 with dd's boyfriend. Son worked out earlier in day so didn't want to join us. It was funny watching dd's boyfriend try to stay on the stability ball, but he did very good for the most part. I worked with the same weights I usually do for chest/back. We worked out of the Arnold book and off smith machine and some on bench.

Today I will do the slow and heavy series of tri's and bi's.

Netta,

Ya know, I hate changing my gears and I just try to do it with it set on #5 all the way. That is the problem..no, duh? LOL! I feel like I am cheating if I go lower with gears, but I know I NEED to going up the big hills so next time I will do it. Thanks for your insight and details. Your very helpful as usual. I guess I am Ms. Piggy with food for now, but my weight still is staying the same. Once again, it is stuck at 115.

Lora,

Wheat bread is sooooo much better then white. White bread is pretty much just sugar. I get Pepperidge Farm Lite Wheat bread. The bread is thin cuz some of the loafs have slices soooo thick and I don't think I need all of that, ya know?

Oh, I can't wait to see the pictures!!! Send them all. I won't laugh. I got your cd's yesterday. Thank you soooo much. I listened to the Seether one and I like it alot. I can hear his voice alittle better since there aren't as many instruments in the background...very cool! I will listen to the other one today and let you know what I think, k?

Diane Sue,

Most of the workouts you do...I have no idea cuz you have different stuff then what I do. I have legs and shoulders and low max. I can believe that YOU would do them all in a day, but it makes me hurt to think about it! LOL! Go get 'em!!!!!!!!! You inspire me so much. You have no idea and you have such a sweet spirit about you. We all know it.

Well I feel like a real fat blob today after all that crappy eating I did. I thought I'd feel better today after eating very well yesterday, but I don't. I feel every part of me jiggling. Oy! So this morning I decided to do Low Max. Had a great workout, got a good sweat going. I was in my zone for 53 minutes and burned 346 calories, only 4,000 to go! LOL!

I got my bike out yesterday, I bought a gel seat and what a difference. It was quite comfortable. I rode about 7 miles I think last evening. Loved it! Especially with my MP3 player!

Hope you all have great workouts!

Debbie,

I got into a bag of cheetos yesterday. Don't know what got into me. It was a evil event! I usually don't do that. No more of that for me either today. WOW, you burned alot of calories during lowmax. I believe it. Turns my face brown by the end of it.

We might have to change the title to our post to Hardcore Maniacs and Bicyclist Enthusiast or something. I think my bottom is getting use to being on the bike as it doesn't bother me as much as it use to as next day I would feel sore, etc.

Charlotte~~

Charlotte - did you get the first set I sent from home this AM? I just sent the 2nd set.....promise not to show the dorky ones to anyone!!

Hi Debbie,
I'm sure you're not a fat blob, but I know the feeling. Lowmax really makes me sweat too. Glad the gel seat is helping. The seat thing seems to be the biggest thing to overcome in getting comfortable on a bike. Just takes a while to toughen up the tush. Saddles are so individual. I ride a Terry Butterfly and keep the seat level. I love my mp3 player but only ride with one earbud in so I can hear the traffic behind me coming. I also ride with a mirror attached to my glasses. If you're not on the road, then no worries. Glad you are enjoying.

Jeanette

Charlotte - Also, when I go to the photo shop to get the prints made of the sound check, I'll make a couple extras from my camera of me with the band members for you...........cuz they're better than the ones that I sent you from the girl with the digital camera. That's her in the shots I sent you.....she's the one I met down there and sold my extra tickets to. She was a nice lady and has a child with Down's syndrome.....God bless her!!

Hi Netta,

Thanks for the info on the bikes. Wow biking can be expensive, but if it's something you enjoy and love to do, then what a great investment to have! I'll look into some bikes. I think for now, I will get a low end priced bike as I'm just starting out and want to make sure I'm gonna enjoy it enough to make an investment in a higher priced bike with all the gear to go with it. When I read the post you and Suz write about the bike riding, it really makes me want to give it a try, sounds very relaxing and enjoyable to get out and enjoy the scenery. :) NOt to mention a good workout!!!;-)

Hi to everyone out there, I've gotta get back to work!

Sandy,

I know I don't have the right bike for being on the road, but it is just being on the road that makes it fun. I don't really care if I go fast or slow just as long as I feel the burn! LOL!

Charlotte~~

Hey Charlotte,

That's what I'm looking for too, is a good workout and a really good burn, but also enjoyable scenery! :) Do you live in the country Charlotte? I do, and we have a lot of roads I could ride, but I'm a little scared to ride by myself on those roads (I'm a wimp) until I get a riding partner, hopefully I can start riding with the group at the Y, I guess I need to buy a bike first. I've seen a few that I like at Wal-Mart. :)

Sandy,

It really was tough for me to get out there and get use to riding as I was afraid to have someone hit me, etc. Once you start getting out there you get use to it and feel a "need" for it. I live out in the country which is mostly valley. It is so scenic here and I need to take pictures of my routes for all to see and if I don't forget next time, I will post pictures. I love the way it relaxes me. I love the smells, the air hitting me, etc. I think I am addicted now. LOL!

Charlotte~~

Hey Charlotte,

I would love to see some pics. I need to get some of where I live too, we have deer come in our front yard all the time, with their fawn. They are a beautiful site to see. The other night my DH went to the front door and we had a visitor on our deck eating some of our cats food, it was a racoon. He was so cute, but I hear they can be so mean, so we don't try to make friends or anything like that. Like you I love the smells in the country air too! Maybe I can get some pics up sometime too and introduce myself to everyone here. :) I love looking at your pics, so I do hope you can get some up of your bike ride! :)

Sandy,

I will make it a priority, but I think I might need some batteries cuz I wore mine out taking too many pictures of my butt. LOL! I need to get more fitness pictures up too of my back and such. I got alot of definition there, but alot of freckles too. LOL!

It would be nice to see your pictures. I am so curious now. Some people make friends with the wild life up along Skyline Drive and the deer will actually come out and take food from your hands. They feed the bears too and they shouldn't. Your place sounds pretty too.

Charlotte~~

Good afternoon,
This morning I did Low Max and because I cannot leave it at 55 minutes of cardio minus the w/up&Str I did interval#5 two times(I wore my weighted gloves for this today and really worked up a sweat) Then I did S&H legs and shoulders. I used the Bowflex for the squats at 200#, 75# bar for the Lunges and 80# dumbbell for the plies, 35# dumbbells for the calf raises, then upped some of my soulder work.

Lora, it is best to see if it is 100% whole wheat or grain bread. White is not good at all. It has been processed way to much. I rarely eat bread but really read labels if I am going to eat it.

Netta, my heel feels better today than it did yesterday. I find pushing off at a lateral direction causes it to hurt. I think because I waled off the toy sideways. Wow bikes are expensive. I know my son in law got a mountain bike for Christmas. He has another bike as well. I would like dh & I to get some to take camping.

Charlotte, thanks for saying I am an inspiration. You are so kind. I look at what you do and think wow! I find you an inspiration.

Debbie, I think we all feel like that after over indulging. After a couple of days you will totally forget that you felt like this.

Hi to everyone,
Diane Sue

http://wd.1ww.us

The reason for the Wheat/Versus Whole Grain bread - Oprah's trainer, Bob Greene, was on her show last night and he said Whole Wheat bread is not good. He said it has to be Whole Grain or you might as well forget about it. I usually buy whole wheat......so I'm wondering.

Diana Sue - do you have the recipe for your Raspberry Vinagarette dressing?

Diane Sue,

You make me cry when I read your workout for today! I am sweating already. I still have tri's and bi's to do at 3:30. Not a long workout for me today.

Lora,

I just heard Oprah say herself that she doesn't eat bread anymore. The wheat is good to have in my opinion. I would rather eat that then white. White is no good. Just my 2 cents.

Am I am chatterbox today or what? I am putting off all my cleaning, etc. until tomorrow so I won't be around much then.

Charlotte~~
