Morning Maniacs - I overslept a bit. Had a very hard time getting my HR up this AM. I did The Firm Maximum Cardio and either it was easy or I just couldn't get my HR up! Not sure what that's all about. Workout was 55" and I burned 450 calories. Max HR was only 136-140. I didn't really enjoy this either.

As far as keeping up with workouts, yes, so far it's been okay....but I will miss my first workout the day after Thanksgiving, as I have to be at work very early. I will also be missing days in December due to my schedule.

Deb - work is okay. It's really busy with setting up displays and unloading tons and tons of stock. We have been getting a truck just about every day. I'm bombarded with stuff. Nowhere left to put it! Sales have still been slow. Only sold 2 Christmas presents so far! GH is getting crazy again, huh? What's up with the Franco dude?

Linda - yes, I DO have a rather large video collection. Thank goodness my DH recently got me this whole wall of bookshelves! It's almost full already!

Morning Ladies-
Yesterday was Total body and 15 walk. I did not wear a hr monitor b/c I was in a very big hurry. Probably not my best workout ever, but I got it done. I took the dog on a 15 min power walk instead of walking on the treadmill.

TTYL-

Hi :)

This morning, I had a kick butt workout. I did KPC and KM (leg drills) :D I just like doing these workouts together.

But, here’s the thing I’m faced with, I get up at 4:30 that’s not enough time to do all that I want/need to do, so I am going to set my clock tomorrow for 4am start workout between 4:30 and 4:45. Getting to work at 8am isn't like before, I was only 10 minutes from my job, now am 40 minutes away.

Nice work guys.:)

Today was Plyo X again. LOVED IT! And had a better workout then the first time because I knew all the moves. I worked harder and jumped higher. Had a great time. I love the last three drills on this DVD. I also did the Ab Work from Cardio & Weights.

HR STATS for Cardio & Ab work:
1 hr. 10 minutes total
8 minutes below zone
22 minutes in zone
41 minutes above zone
546 calories burned!

Any workout that can give me over a 500 calorie burn is A-OK in my book!!!

Lora - I bet time flies when you're at work, though, huh? And yes, GH is getting good again. That Franco dude is a real wack job.

Theresa - Hi!!! HRM aren't always a necessity. But they sure do help make us work harder!

Teddygirl - Wow, that's early! Good for you for being able to get it done! I've been looking for full time work too, and it seems all the companies start at 8. If that's what I end up working, it's going to suck. But such is life. I like getting up early, but 4 is a bit much!

Debbie - Nice work :) PlyoX is my favorite workout from the P90 series, wait! I can't really say that, heck I never finished the series:eek:. I know 4am is a bit much, but what can I do? I'm going to hafta speed things up a bit, like tomorrow is wt lifting NO more BS'ing around before I could do that when I was living in my appt every thing 1 level. Anywho, I'll see how it goes tomorrow:rolleyes:

Lora - I really want to see a picture of this shelving unit filled with all your dvds! I bet work is very crazy at this time of year. Hope you survive Black Friday!

Theresa
- Sometimes it's nice not to wear the HRM and get so hung up on your numbers.

Teddy
- Good for you getting up before the roosters to get it all in. Going from a 10 minute commute to a 40 really sucks!

Debbie - Had a blast with Plyo X this morning too, but boy are my legs still sore & tired from last week. About the cardio, I don't know what I am going to do. Guess I'll just take it as it comes and if I get bored swap it out. Have to admit I was dying to see your stats as you'll see from mine below.

Okay today was Plyo X had a blast even though my legs were tired and sore. Now get this according to my new HRM my workout was 1 hour and I burn..get this 824 calories!:eek: Come on, there is no way that is possible right? One thing I really love about my new HRM is the chest strap. I did not realize how poorly the Nike chest strap fit until putting this one on and it stays in place as I jump around. No wonder DianeSue had so much trouble with the Nike.

Workout was Strike Zone strikes 1-8 38 minutes 325 calories( I stopped at the strike where they get down on the floor and do those dreaded spider things
icon_biggrin.gif
) I then did STS Plyo legs week 3 disc 32 again. Just figured I should go ahead and do a fifth round of that and stick with STS. Calories burned was 398 workout was 48 minutes.
Total workout time today was 1 hr 26 minutes 723 calories, 35% fat, Max hr 160, avg hr 133, in zone 35 minutes. I had to go to Target after dropping my granddaughter off at school. I was so hungry. Looked at Starbucks and I held back:eek: When I got home I polished off the tiny bit of cottage cheese I had and ate some leftover soup from yesterday. Trying to make myself leave those Luna bars alone.
On, plyo legs I used the same weights as last time. 25 for most moves and 35's for squats. So I won't repost the whole workout again.

Lora, I need more shelves for my dvd. I bought a book shelf and filled it and am stacking them on top of the others. The thing is, I don't know where to put those shelves  I am sure you will make it through the holidays just fine:)

Theresa, I am sure your dog loves it when you choose to go for a walk instead of use the treadmill.

Teddy, I was getting up earlier and earlier for awhile and finially decided that I was going to have to make my workouts fit in without getting up at 3:45 am because I was just getting way to tired and run down. Never could get to bed early enough. Now I get up between 4:30 and 5 depending on when I have to leave. Maybe you would be better at getting to bed than I was :) That is a nice workout combination:)

Debbie, nice workout again;) I like hearing how much you are enjoying P90X.

Linda, nice workout and calorie burn. Which HR monitor did you buy? For me my calorie burn and HR fluctuates with how I am feeling. I think the meds I was taking made it go up a little here lately. I finished off my steroid pack yesterday. I think if the strap doesn't fit right the hr monitor just does not pick up well. Debbie is right they sure do motivate you to work harder:D

Diane Sue - Nice job resisting Starbucks! I was doing well yesterday until I had to make brownies for DD's school. Since funds are short and I had just bought the Nike this time last year, I was in Dick's looking and they had the Timex HRM for $30. Since all I am really interested in is what is my HR is doing and what's my calorie burn I thought I give it a shot for the price. Like I said I love the strap and I love the watch - very comfortable and easy to use & set up. Another thing I hated about the Nike was where the stop/start button was as I was always hitting it and turning it off. And so far the Timex has not given me any bizarre heart rate readings , it is always right where I think it should be based on how I feel, but the calories burned amount just seems totally out of whack. The only difference I see in the set up so far is it doesn't have me enter my age.

Diane Sue - Nice job on your workout today! You had a kick butt workout yesterday, too. I'm missing SZ! I preordered the next one too, can't wait to get it!! I wish she would have called it SZ 2.

Linda - Do you set up your age, weight and all that info in your HRM? I do think that burn is a bit high, you should be burning about as much as I do since we are almost the same age, height and weight. I know my Polars ALWAYS read me low but my Sportline seems to be a bit more accurate, or at least I like to think so. And I'm going to do the same as you with the cardio. So far I am loving these so I'll stick with them for a while. I wonder what Cardio X is like?

Theresa - I just went back and read the rest of yesterday's thead. Thanks for the last meal ideas! I appreciate it! I'm always looking for new things to eat, but I have such a sweet tooth that I tend to look for sweeter things versus real food.

I wanted to share this protein drink recipe with all of you. I've been having it after my workouts this week and I love it. Courtesy of Oxygen Magazine:

Lean Green Shake (Fat Flusher)

2 c. baby spinach
1 ripe kiwi, peeled and quartered
1 c. low fat milk
1 scoop vanilla or plain whey protein powder
1 tsp. vanilla

Place all ingredients in a blender or Magic Bullet and process until smooth.

226 calories
1 g. fat
28 g. carbs
27 g. protein

This stuff is AWESOME!!!

Debbie - The only I don't input is my age and gender. Do input my weight and max HR. That's why I was interested to see your calorie burn as I figured mine should be around yours somewhere. I watched Cardio X the other night while folding laundry and it is a mix of all the other cardios incorporating Yoga X, Plyo X and Kenpo X. BTW, what was your max HR today?

Debbie,

I saw that smoothie and have been wanting to try it. So, I guess I will now if you say it is tasty.

Someone asked if I have seen results with Insanity and yes I have. My endurance is amazing, I am eating better and my weight is down. I really loved it.

I think age and gender is a huge factor in giving you an accurate reading, I wonder why it doesn't ask for that? My max HR was 152 bpm today.

Roselyn, you will love it!

Linda, I agree that gender and age makes a difference. I have mine at the automatic settings for HR and adjusted the VO2 Max to what it was with the other Polar and it seems to be working well for me now. It seems if you know your hr zone for your age you could get a close calorie burn. I use Cardio X warm up and yoga segment sometimes in place of yoga. It gives me a w/u and a 10 min yoga session:D I believe it is about 10 min yoga, 10 kempo, and 10 plyo X moves.

Debbie, I am looking forward to the new Tracey workout. It looks like it is done like Strikezone. I don't get the name. She does have Kickbox Challenge. Not as good as Strikezone though. I read that she is holding off on the Heavy Bag to do one devoted to that with Josef. Can't recall what she says they are going to call it. I guess tht is one of the next ones. I will definitely want that one. I saw that shake and told my granddaughter that it sounded yucky and I would rather have the ingredients separately LOL. It probably is yummy though. I felt the same way about the spinach and salmon salad in Muscle Chow with asparagus and blueberries. I love that salad:D

Diane Sue, there was a thread on the VF forum when SZ came out and the ladies on that forum bashed that workout. It was an aweful thread and went on for like 800 pages or more. Actually, here is the thread:

http://forum.videofitness.com/showthread.php?t=120427&highlight=strike+zone

So Tracey decided to name it something totally different to seperate from SZ. It's a shame, she didn't deserve that bashing.

Debbie, I think that there are some people that would not be real happy with just about anything. I love the workout myself. Most of the time I do those spiderweb things, maybe not correctly but I attempt to do them LOL. I for one don't pay much attention to timing or whatever they are saying. I just want to enjoy the workout.

I the HRM is made for women so I am assuming that they have already taken in to consideration that I am female:D and that is why I do not have to enter my gender. And I do agree that age has a bearing so I am a little disappointed on that. But I entered all my HR info such as Max HR and Zones based on the Karvonian Method using my resting heart rate.

The other thing is my Max HR today during Plyo X was 182 bpm and I spent a lot of time in the 170's. This is not an unusual HR or HR reading for me, as my Nike gave my the same HR readings. So I don't know?

Wow! Your HR gets high. My highest has been 173 I think and that was when I did Step Blast a few weeks back. My average HR is around the high 140's. When I hit 158-163 I really feel it. I don't like going much higher then that.

Linda - Seen like I am always filling my gas tank, once old man winter hit I'm sure the commute will be an hour, sucks!

Diane Sue - I'm usually sleep by 10pm I have to strain to keep eyes open to catch the first 10 minutes of the news, after highligts I am sleeping like a baby. Your workouts are always on point

You guys have a good and safe evening, see ya tomorrow.

Teddygirl - good luck getting up at 4:00. I have to get up at 4:30 or so when I work the early shift and that's bad enough after working a bunch of nights and sleeping in!

Re: Black Friday - strangely enough, I sort of like it when it's crazy busy. You sort of get a high from selling so much........I'm weird!! I remember loving the 3 days prior to Christmas cuz it was soo busy. I get all pumped up.

I'm not looking forward to missing workouts and working open to close. Black Friday I work 7:00 am to 7:00 pm!! Yikes!!

One reason I love my current HRM is cuz it gives me higher calorie burns than my older model....but that's cuz it's better, right?? ;)

Linda - sadly, my bookshelve is getting full and I also have 4 other DVD racks full of DVDs and numerous books and older videos in the basement! The sick thing is that I just told my husband (while trying to find my AM workout) that I need more videos and don't have enough!! I really have to get back to doing my Cathe vids. I sort of really burned out on her from when I first found her. I did soooo many rotations of only Cathe for soooo long....that I can't bring myself to do them now. Same thing happened with my spinning Dvds from when I had my 2 stress fractures over the summer and that's all I could do.
