Well it's back to the grind. The holidays being over are bittersweet, but I am glad to be back to normal.

Saturday was weights and yesterday was HIIT. My tm just got fixed earlier last week and on my last interval, it completely died. I'm glad I wasn't going full speed. I warmed up for 10 min and then did 15 rounds of 40 sec on and 20 off. By the time my tm responded, I really worked about 15-20 sec. It was enough :D

Today is weights and steady state again. I won't get that workout in until later tonight.

Happy 2010 to each of you. Hope it's a blessed and healthy year. :D

I agree with Theresa, the end of the holidays is always bittersweet, but I'm glad they are over.

My next 8 week workout plan is the one I have done before by Chad Waterbury. It's 3 full body workouts a week and 3 cardio workouts a week. I started it today and had a blast.

This is how it went:

3 sets/5 reps each exercise with a 1 minute rest between each set.

Chest:
Flat Barbell Bench Press- 95#/5 reps; 100#/2 sets, 5 reps
***Probably could have gone heavier here. 100# was quite easy.

Back:
Barbell Rows- 85#/3 sets, 5 reps

Quads:
Squats - 85#/5 reps; 95#/2 sets, 5 reps
***This seemed easy too. Been a LONG time since I've done squats.

Hamstrings:
Stiff Leg Deads - 85#/5 reps; 90#/2 sets, 5 reps
***Again, easy. Could have gone heavier.

Biceps:
Barbell Curls - 55#/5 reps; 60#/2 sets, 5 reps
***Now here I was shocked. I thought 55# would kick my butt. I probably could have gone with 65# but would have had to cheat it.

Triceps:
Close Grip Bench Press - 75#/5 reps; 85#/2 sets, 5 reps
***Love love love this exercise. I could have gone heavier here too but wanted to keep good form.

Then I worked my Abs becuase I had extra time. I did my favorite routine that I got out of Oxygen Magazine a while ago.

Trisets:
Hanging Knee Raise
Bench V-Ups
Reverse Bench Crunch

***Did 15 reps each exercise all in a row, took a 1 minute break and did it again with 12 reps. Took a 1 minute break and did it again with 10 reps.

That is all....

Morning Maniacs-

Good to have everyone back after the Holidays. Amen to them being over! They are not even bittersweet for me, just bitter! LOL. I just have to get thru inventory this week. I work ALL nights this weeks. It sucks. My manager did the schedule to accomodate my co-worker's school schedule and now she changed her mind and is not going to school, but is moving to California at the end of February, and now I'm stuck with mostly all nights this month. Ugh........sorry for the vent.

This morning I did Tracie Long's Defining Shape. Workout was 57" and I burned 398 calories. This did not have any cardio in it, but because of some compound moves, max HR was 130.

I chose this because I'm trying to get my flare up of pain under control and her workouts don't have much that irritate my injury. I'm still in bad shape with the weather being so cold.

I actually have been in contact with Tracie via email and told her about my injury and workout goals and she has offered to provide me with a rotation to hopefully help me. She's pretty amazing. I'm awaiting her response.

Have great workouts everyone.

This morning I did MMA Boxing and heavy bag 1hr9 minutes and burned 505 calories, Max HR was 154. When I came back from taking Lexie to school I did Insanity upper body weights 48 minutes and burned 365 calories Max HR was 159. I finished off with Amy's Step Challenge 3 stretch and added a couple of minutes of shoulder stretches with my yoga strap. Total calories burned today was 918 and workout time was 2 hr 12 minutes.
Didn't sleep much last night. Got up around 12 and took some motrin and a 1/2 tablet tylenol simply sleep so am dragging.

Lora, this cold weather had been terrible for my joints. My fingers even hurt.

Debbie, nice workout. Chad Waterbury comes up with some good stuf.

Theresa, I am hoping that now that the hoidays are over I can get my eating cleaned up.

Hey,

I decide to try and finish P90X, but I will be subbing out some of the workouts like Plyo, Kenpo and Yoga. And will probably stick with bands for the back work.

So today is the start of the active recovery week before the final phase and I did Core Synergistics. Had a good workout.

On Saturday I did SC 30/30. Thinking about trying 40/20 tomorrow.
