Cathlete
Morning Fit Ladies -

This morning I did P90X Legs & Back and listened to my own music. I was supposed to do Ab Ripper X, but I did Ab Ripper 100 yesterday as I knew I'd be running short on time today. I'm going into work a little early today. I used weights on some exercise, but the ones they didn't use weights on, I didn't either and I'm not sure if I feel like I got a good workout. I used my heaviest band for the lat pulls and it wasn't as challenging as I thought it would be. We'll see how I feel tomorrow. For some reason, If I don't pour sweat and my heartrate isn't high, I have a hard time feeling like I worked out.

Diana Sue - Did you use considerably heavier weights than Dreya does in this workout? It looks like Dreya uses 5 pounders throughout. I used 10's and I still don't think it was enough. What did you use? Also, when just a few people use weights, did you use them? That's one think I like about Cathe workouts, I always know I can gauge what weight to use by what they are all using. In a lot of other workouts, I think everyone uses a lot wimpier weights than they are actual capable of using. I don't know why they do this!

Charlotte - Yes, I like all of those Nickelback CD's...that's why I thought you would. I particularly like the song Animals also...but they play it a lot on the radio here...so I don't feel the need to listen to it much more than that. However, there are a few songs off of "The Long Road" CD...perhaps my fave.....that one "Figured You Out" that starts out something like "I like your pants around your feet" LOL and there's one other really rockin' song on there that is right before that song that they used to always play on the radio that I love. When I first heard Nickelback on the radio, I didn't really care for them, cuz they always played the little Fluff Love Songs...but if you listen to the CD, most of their music is pretty hard driving rock. I love those songs. :7 By the way, do you like 3 Doors Down?

Hi to everyone else. Sorry I haven't been around so much the last couple of days. It's been very hectic at work and at home, I can't seem to get anything accomplished so that I can sit down and relax. I think my body's all out of whack from having TTOTM every 2 weeks. I feel like I'm getting ready to start again, but my body is messed up and doesn't know what to do. I'm a basket case these last few days. My weekends even seem to be busy since I've been doing all of this E-bay selling.

Have great workouts and I'll try to check in from work later.

Good Morning Maniacs!!

Yesterday I did not workout. Alot of different things going on in working in fast motion. Uh, I went on the scale this morning and I did a double take.....112 pounds...UGH!!!!! Now that is no good! Once I got so I had a hard time losing a few pounds and now my body is on overdrive and jacked up the max! Can't have too much of that. I know I am not as hungry this time of the year cuz it is so hot, but I didn't think I cut my eating back THAT much..GEEZ!!! Too much time outside and not enough in the kitchen I guess. At least nothing will be hanging out, but I don't want to look like Nicole Ritchie either!!! LOL!

This morning I will do 3 sets of bbm with weights before I leave again to go to Costcos and pay bills, etc. When I get back I will work my arms cuz you know I can't work them in the am, right? (smile)

My skin biopsy came back normal. Getting ready for DD's party tomorrow...don't worry, I am not DRINKING this time...just water only! LOL Going horseback riding on Monday morning.

Lora,

Well I told you about my body. Guess your not the only messed up. I do hope you feel better though. Try to relax, don't let it get the best of you. Your workout sounds tough. Like to hear you like to sweat too. I suppose I will have to take another bath this morning after I workout. Sometimes I can take up to 3 a day depending on what I am doing. I don't want to offend anyone, ya know? LOL! Guess I am going to throw some extra food down today. Ya know, I had friggin' ice cream yesterday (Blue Bunny..no sugar) and lost weight? Don't ya hate me? Say you do!!!!! LOL! You keep doing P90X though and sweating like you are and you will lose the few pounds you want, you know it will happen, MANIAC!!!!
Yes, I like 3 Doors Down.

Debbie,

Want to know how many calories you are burning today. Please tell!!!! ETA: You just answered my question...your burning calories for Avon!

Charlotte~~

Good Morning Ladies!

Whew-wee! I went to a spin class last night....oh my!! Talk about working up a sweat. It looked like someone dumped a bucket over my head! LOL! It was fun too! he taught the class in a pyramid style. He kept adding things on to each interval. OH MY! }( I think the part where he had us hover over our seat on a really high resistance was the toughest. Maybe that's because we'd go into 20-30 minute sprints after all of that. Whew! I tried posting last night, but my phone wouldn't stop ringing. Anyway, I thought I would have burned more calories, but total calorie burn was 337. I was surprised.

Diane Sue ~ Awww....love the picture of Jasmine! Will she go camping too? Have fun this weekend.

Lora ~ I like the fluff love songs they play on the radio. LOL! My dh has that Nickleback CD. Last night's class was all rock...mostly 80's and early 90's. Loved that!

Charlotte ~ I finally got a chance to look at your pictures. You have definitely made progress. How could you not?!?!}(

Marietta ~ Never say never about KC....look at the White Sox! I've been bugging my dh to take me and the kids to a game.

Debbie ~ LOL! about the cartoons in Fitness RX now I'll think of you when I read my mag. ha ha! Enjoy your rest day!

Suz ~ How are you feeling today?

Hi to all who follow!

Today is abs and a stretch. Not sure which stretch DVD I'll do. I may dust off Cool It Off. I may walk on the treadmill a little bit too. I'm taking the kids to this really cool park for a picnic today.

ETA: Question: My dh has been taking spinning classes for awhile. I guess they are getting new bikes at the gym. He was thinking of trying to buy an old one since I've been bugging him about getting that trainer. Do you think that would be a good buy? I don't know the price yet. I'm just thinking those bikes definitely get a lot of wear and tear.

Oops, I said Jennifer Nicole Lee was on the cover of Fitness RX. She's not. She's in the mag as the fitness model for the "Ultimate Body Sculpting Fat-Loss Workout". You get two rest days in the rotation! I might have to look into this further. LOL!

Where is everyone today?

Good Morning,
For those that want to see a picture of Jasmine I posted it last night on the yesterday's check in. This morning I started with I Max3 and then did 2.25 mile run on the treadmill. I am going to do upper body and abs and some yoga in a little bit.

Lora, on P90X legs and back I used 160# on the Bowflex for the lat pulldowns and on the leg work 15# dumbbells for the chair lunges, 25# for the squats/calf raises, 25# for the reverse and side lunges, toe roll iso lunges 15#, 25# calves. The rest I used body weight like they do. I worked up to these weights. At the start I used lighter weight.

Dallas, yes, the plan so far is to take Jasmine with us camping. Most of the family will be there and I don't want to leave her with strangers.

Charlotte, I have had the weight loss thing happen to me too. I avoid the scale most of the time. Usually it is when I notice my clothes drooping or something I will check and then I have to up my eating. I feel like I eat like a horse anyway:) Then sometimes I will up and gain a bunch. Most of the time it is when I eat out a lot or something and don't have as much control over sodium abd stuff. This campout will probably mean lots of poor eating as we are loaded up with stuff for smores and chips and grilling items. I did make sure there were some of the baked chips. Normally I avoid starchy carbs. This is a vacation though.

Hi to everyone,

Hey TGIF Everyone,

I haven't even looked at the rotation to see what workout i am suppose to do. I will shortly. I also plan to add a run to whatever it is. I will do the run later. Running makes me feel better. Maybe as I feel like I am runing from the pain?

Dallas-You asked me about TJ. I have the fat blaster one and kick punch jam and cardio party3. I do like them. I wish fat blaster and KPJ were longer but I use them as add on's or do them back to back. I think I like them as they have a fun factor. Chalene is so fun to watch but that is my opinion. Others may not like her bubbly personality. I think the routines in cardio party 3 are fun and can be made as intense as one would want them. I cannot com[pare them to any other TJ's as these are the first ones I have ever used. I also like powerstrike and will be interested in seeing how the new ones are in July. You will have to let meknow if you get them.

Nicole-Sounds like you use your TJ as add ons as well as Diane Sue. You know I am thinking of doin a SS rotation and adding a TJ workout t it. What do you think? Also would put some upperbody gymstyles in. Each one once a week so that would be 2 days heavier lifting...

Diane Sue-you have the first TJ right? How do they compare to the maximum ones I have?

Marietta-Enjoy your day off of work.

Suz-I hope you are feeling better. I laughed out loud at my 300 walking lunges to your place.

Neta-HAve a great weekend camping.

Lora and Charlotte-So you two have the same music tastes it seems huh?
Susan-I must have missed it. Which son is with the grandparents? Sorry you have to work monday!
Christine-I am ashamed to admit I forget what you have been up too. Hope all is well with you.

I am still having a tough time with losing Lass. I am struggling with trying not to lose more weight. I want my clothes to fit right but I have no appetite and force myself to eat when I can. Dave and Ashly are going to Vegas this weekend and I hhope they have fun. Dave deserves a break from the greif.

Terri

Good morning,

I started to do Circuit Max, but had to stop and feed the baby. Now that it's 10am I'm starving!!! So, I just put him in his vibrating seat and he's asleep...so back at it! hahaha

Dallas, I've never taken a spinning class. They look like so much fun. I know I'd never push myself as hard as the instructor does in the class. Do you wear a heart rate monitor to know how many calories burned? Did you find a good workout in the Fitness magazine? Is that what you're talking about, or Jennifer Lee Nolan?

Diane Sue, oh my gosh your doggie is cute!! Wow! Long workout today! Good for you! Have a great time camping.

Suz, how do you feel today? Did you and dh workout last night together?

Do any of you guys take a supplement for your joints? Starting out this month with Cathe's rotation is the first time I've had knee issues. I took my leg workouts back quite a bit, but doing CM (just part of it) I can feel it.x(

I'll be back later.

Susan C.M.:D

Good morning all:

I have tons to do before we leave to go camping but some stuff is more important, huh? My workout today was Muscle Max Shoulders (lateral raises 2X) and then did GS Legs Timesaver #2. Good workout today. I should get me new GS workouts on Wednesday.

Last night was our bike club's hill climb race. There were 8 of us. My time was pretty good considering my legs are still not quite up to snuff from last week's century ride. There was another lady there, which was nice. We were fortunate that the smoke from the forest fires had cleared out. Also had some nice shade while we were climbing.

Lora, sounds like it was a good workout today. I think different intensities are good for my body. I'm loving my current rotation. My arms are getting really lean, but the muscles are popping (for me anyway), not a "bulky" look, but a defined look. I could look better in my lower body, but still feel like it's improving, though I'm not killing myself on my workouts.

Debbie, enjoy your rest day. I'll be doing lots of resting for the next few days while camping, though I plan on doing some casual mtn. biking with DH and the dogs and I'll bring some weights along too.

Charlotte, I'd love to see what you saw on your scales, but I think those days are long gone for me (like 4th grade) and I'm okay with it.
Horseback riding. If you haven't ridden for a while, be prepared for sore inner thighs. I have a horse but loaned him out to my SIL to use on their ranch for the last few months. I'm sure when I get him back and start riding again, I'll be major sore in the inner thigh area. So good all came out well on the biopsy. Just water at the party, huh? My days of overindulging are gone, I think. I do enjoy a couple glass of wine with friends and family.

Dallas, the spin class sounds tough. I'm sure a great instructor and rocking music makes all the difference. Suz is our resident Spinerval queen. She rocks doing them and they are effective. I pulled out Cool It Off the day after my tough century bike ride and it was just the ticket to loosen up my tight hamstrings and muscles.

Hi Terri, hope you have a nice run. I haven't heard why you have pain. Did you injure yourself? Hope I'm not too nosey. So sorry with your grief in losing your dog. I completely understand. We love our dogs soo much and will definitely miss them terribly when they are gone. We've had lots and lots of dogs and miss them all, but get totally caught up in the current ones so it helps with the loss.

Diane Sue, loved the picture of Jasmine, she makes me laugh!!! I chuckled when I read about your 150# lat pulldowns. DH uses 50# and I'm right about there too. Wow!!!! Hope you have a wonderful time camping. We'll probably leave middle of the day today. I packed pretty good food, not too much junk. I am making my caramel apple dumpling dessert in the dutch oven. It's a goodie!

Susan CM, I do take glucosamine and condroiten and MSM every day. My knees don't bother me, but I haven't been doing lots of lunges or squats either. I had absolutely no knee pain after my century on Saturday. They've been fabulous.

Must go now, hi to Marietta, Suz, Sandy and everyone else! I won't be around until Tuesday night.

Jeanette

Susan ~ The workout/rotation...silly. ;-) Two rest days!! I don't think I could do it though. It's hard for me to take one rest day. Were you doing the Rock Bottom too? My knees were aching too. I've cut back and so far so good. I thought maybe it was a fact of too much too soon for me. I was and have been really careful about listening to my body. Sounds like you are too. I don't want another injury!

Well, we're off for some fun!

Have a great day!

Dallas

I finished my workout. Loads of interruptions though. I did Push Pull upper 2 sets, on the triceps dips I used a 45 # barbell and on the Crunches I used a 10# med ball instead of the stability ball, then I did 3 sets of barbell roll outs w/45#, 25 hanging leg raises, 50 Bowflex resisted crunches, and 25 each side resisted oblique twists. Then I did Yoga Shatki supine poses and inversions. I would like to have done more yoga but need to get busy.

Netta, normally I take healthy food camping but the family helped stock the food choices. I will probably take a dvd and some tubing but don't know if I will be alone in the trailer to do anything with it.

Debbie, have a great day resting and delivering Avon.

Jasmine, thanks you all for the nice comments:D

DianeSue,

Well have fun during your camping trip. Your body is so dag gone rock solid hard that if you ate bad, it would never show beyond the steel! ;-)

Netta,

4th grade you say? Funny. LOL!

Well I just put away the groceries and now I have to make potato salad, go back and get a few more things I forgot cuz my brain shuts down at times. LOL! Lets see, laundry and workout my arms. I embarrassed myself at Costcos today. I put a 55lb bag of dog food on the bottom of cart and only got it in half way when the bulk of the bag fell to the top and got stuck in there so I was pretty much dancing around with the cart trying to get that bag of dog food out and a lady came over and helped me get it out. Surely, once I got it out I could handle the rest, but she was nice and thought I still needed more help into the cart, in which I decided it should go instead. Oh, well.

Charlotte~~

Hello!

Well, last night I meant to just go for a simple, easy spin on my bike. I was riding along, MINDING MY OWN BUSINESS when this guy shows up. Well, I was stopped b/c I had to pee (unusual for me, especially to stop in daylight, but I found a ditch and just HAD to go). I had just climbed back up to the road when he went past me. So I hopped on and off I went. I turned around before he did, as I only wanted to do 20 miles. I was having such a great time, keeping my heart rate a low 145-150 - VERY comfortable. So I turn around and guess what? Here he comes. Not one to want to be passed, my lovely low heart rate shot up to 175 and I'll be darned if it never went back down. It was only the last 5 or so miles of my ride. This morning I rode 40 miles with my girlfriend. It was an awesome ride. Then I had that pulmonary test. My lungs look good and strong, she says. She didn't see any signs of asthma other than a couple minor things. She did say that I wheeze. Who knew? Anyway, here's the kicker - they never had me exercise b/c they don't have that type of equipment. Now how are you supposed to tell if someone has exercise induced asthma if you don't test them during exercise??? She said that it's mostly clinical and the doctor will see how you feel when you use the inhaler and by all your blood work and chest x-ray. Hmmm...seems like this morning's test was pointless. But I think she wanted to test my lung function, which is good. I don't WANT asthma, but if it's not that then I might have to just quit whining and suck it up. I can't imagine what else it would be. Not that I'm a doctor, but...

Lora - I hope you aren't a basket case for long.

Debbie - happy Avoning...

Charlotte - I'm glad your biopsy was normal. Whew! And I know what you mean. I can't keep the weight on. AS IF!!!!!!!

Dallas - I don't know if those spinning bikes actually wear out or not. My neighbor got a couple that same way and she loves them. I'm feeling great, thanks for asking. It's probably nothing after all this. I didn't use the inhaler before last night's workout (since it was supposed to be easy) or this morning since I wasn't allowed to use it before my test. Not that it seemed to make a difference. We'll see.

Terri - I'm always so impressed that you add runs to so many of your workouts. If I do weights, I'm finished. If I ride, I'm finished. Well, except a couple of months before Mexico then I add in all kinds of cardio! I should do that more now though. I need to get up earlier on weight days. KEEP EATING!!!!

Diane Sue - Jasmine is beautiful!!! She's so big at 3 months. How fun. I love her ears - the colors. Very cool! I like the new picture on your homepage too. You look so awesome. You're in such great shape. No wonder - what a great workout today.

Susan - I take Osteo Bi-flex. That stuff is amazing! I used to take what Netta mentioned, but I never noticed a huge difference. When I started this other stuff though - huge difference. My hip rarely hurts anymore. And that's big for me. Didn't workout with DH last night. Maybe I'll get him to ride with me tomorrow to push me. He's soooo fast!

Netta - have a BLAST camping! Congrats on your good hill climb race!

I sure use a lot of !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, wouldn't you say? :)

DH and I are off together. We have 3 movies to watch - one of them is Failure to Launch. I hope it's good. I like SJP and Matthew M.

Have a great rest of the day everyone.

Suz

Diane Sue - not sure you'll see this but have you noticed a difference in your low abs since doing all those hanging leg raises? I love doing those but I have to do them on my pull up bar and its just so hard to hang like that for a long time. After about five or six leg raises my shoulders start screaming at me. I need to get one of those things you have to assist me with this type of thing. Do you think it is worth the money?

Suz, hopefully the inhaler helps. It sounds like you had some fun rides. I see your competitve personality came out:) Enjoy your movies.

Debbie,
I really think the hanging leg raises are helping the lower ab area a lot. I used to do hanging leg raises off of my old dp gym. It is hard to keep stationary and concentrate on the abs when you are swinging around by your arms like that. The VKR tower is so much better. I definitely think it is worth the money. I have a nice thick pad for my back and arms on mine which is nice for comfort. Also it is set up for dips as well so I could work chest and triceps with it:)
