Morning Maniacs -

This morning I FORCED myself to do yoga only. It was very hard not to do a workout. Even half way thru, I almost popped it out and put a weight DVD in. I feel guilty as heck....but I did Rainbeau Mars' Rayoka. Session was 1 hour. I don't feel "great" from it...but hopefully it helped a bit.

Rayoka is that DVD of Rainbeau's I posted a clip about recently. I was very excited when I ordered it, but the practice has not really clicked with me yet. It is not really a fusion of martial arts, as there is only extremely short set of kicks and that's about it. It has some moves that were too advanced for me and I can't do handstands or arm balances with my injury. There is a beginner option on the DVD though and perhaps I should select that next time.

Have great workouts everyone.

Lora-don't feel guilty, you are giving you body what it needs, why the guilt? I cannot do some of the more advance stuff either. Maybe yoga will help you retrain your brain a bit to see that there is just as much gain from yoga as with cardio and weights (especially with the daily work stress you are under). Just my opinion :D and thanks for the feedback on the workout.

diane Sue-I saw your post from yesterday and thanks. Dh got the fireplace going and we borrowed an electric blanket from my parents. It is only cold when I get up to go to the bathroom...yikes. We should have our furnace by Saturday. Once I got out of the RED zone with my stress and anger, I realized we are still pretty blessed. We have jobs to afford the furnace, we have power (not like that horrid ice storm two years ago), and we have people who would love to help.

I did decide to do cardio yesterday (which really helped keep me warm). I did w/u and 3 combos from IN THE RING. I am still learning it, but did much better this time.

Another rest day. I'm almost 100% back to normal. I am going to take the rest of the weekend off and start the recovery workouts on Monday. This will give my body extra time to heal and then the recovery workouts will be a bit easier on me until the 2nd phase of this workout begins. I'm happy with this decision.

Lora - No guilt aloud! Look at me, I took an entire week off. I am almost pain free. To me it's worth it. By Monday I should be good to go. I've been very careful with what I've been eating and actually feel like I've lost a pound or two. I'll find out tomorrow when I weigh myself. Anyways, stop with the guilt. It gets you no where. You need a more healthy approach to rest days and recoveries. But I did want to say GOOD FOR YOU for only doing yoga! That is a step in the right direction!

Hi everyone. I probably won't check in now until Monday. So you all have a great Friday and weekend!

Roselyn, I thought I was ordering all of Insanity but somehow did not read the ordering from beach body right. Apparently the Deluxe package is just 3 workouts and two tubs of recovery drink so I am have only done 3 workouts. I really do like them a lot though so will probably get the rest soon.

Hi Everyone,

During a storm on Wednesday night two trees went down and took out my phone line and therefore my internet. I just got it back, but I am on my way out the door soon so I will have to come back and read up.

I am getting sick once again, but did do Legs & Back today didn't changes legs at all since last week and for pull ups I used bands instead as my shoulder is still bothering me. Also did Brian Kest Sweat yesterday instead of Yoga X.

DianeSue - Last time I had a cold you recommended Zicam. I checked it out but the lozenges have sorbitol in them and I can take that stuff. So I was wondering, does the mist work?

Linda, I have read a lot of bad stuff about the mist. Some people have temporary loss of smell. Some they say is permanent. I would stay away from it. I didn't check but do all of the Zicam copycat's have sorbital? I used Target brand it it worked well too. I checked and it would be hard just to pick the type of zinc etc to take by itself.
I also have tried Echinacea but I have allergies and there is something about it that just does not work for me in the tablets by themselves. That is another dd mentioned. Being in the medical field I think she knows what works for some people. There are a lot of things she would tell you to leave alone too.

Thanks, DianeSue. I think most of those sweeten with sorbitol. So I guess a this point I suffer through.

Linda, sorry that you are having to deal with that. So far the Zicam hes helped me. Normally I do avoid sugar alcohols, especially in a lot of nutrition bars, but these have not been a real problem. But it is better to leave out something that is just going to cause another problem to deal with. Saline nasal spray and Mucinex are the next best things that help me. Not shortening the duration necessarily but helping the symptoms. I won't take antihistamines and a lot of cold remedies. Hate the side affects. Hope that you can get some relief soon.
