Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for week of 9/30

Today I did cardio and chose one of my Cardio Coach mixes. I had a fairly decent workout. Ate very bad this weekend, I have to pull it together. I've been doing really well and then some weekends I just can't help but eat tons of crap. Yikes.

CARDIO STATS:
46 minutes total
6 minutes below zone
14 minutes in zone
27 minutes above zone
399 calories burned
2.5 miles traveled

Today I did Amy's Step Challenge 5 w/up to get a feel for it with no risers then Cathe High Reps upper only mix. I always forget that back is pretty non existant in that one. I then did Hard Strikes Conditioning segment, and X train bonus delts with Legs stretch. Total time was 77 minutes and calories burned 332. I am still waiting on my doctors office for my x ray results and a refill on my Boniva that I was supposed to take this weekend:mad:

Debbie, I have been doing pretty well with eating but when I was at my daughter's Saturday they had pizza so I ate the topping off a piece and I had a huge cream filled oatmeal raisin cookie. I wanted to poke myself with a fork :p

Teddy, big HI!! How are you doing? Miss you checking in here.

Today I did the standing only premix of Legs & Glutes. Good workout. I haven't done that one in a long time. Loved it. Now I need to figure out which upper body workout I want to do for Thursday.

Roselyn - Weekends are so hard for me. And and my DH love to go out to eat on weekends - I don't like cooking on weekends. I just need to start making better choices.

Diane Sue - LOL on poking yourself with a fork!!! That was funny! :)

Today was chest, shoulders and triceps.

I know what you all mean with the eating and the holidays are a coming!! eek, so many temptations around.

Today I did Amy's Hi/lo Knockout w/up and weighted core 18 min, then I did Kelly Coffey Kickbox premix upper through the w/up till they started doing jacks, then went on to do the bonus abs repeating the standing portion, 26 min. I did Cathe ab circuts med ball abs 11 min. I finished off with Jillian's Yoga Inferno workout 1. I had to modify on some of it so I know the calorie burn would be much better normally. This was 33 min and calories burned 134. Just a lot of trying to find something that I could do without overtraining another body part, get the HR up a bit and not make the leg worse. Total time was 88 min, 326 calories.
I made some awesome Hazelnut coffee pancakes from primal craving cookbook this morning. I adjusted out 1/2 of the tapioca flour and subbed almond flour along with the coconut flour. I put some in the freezer and kept some out. I had a carrot kale salad with lemon tahini dressing for lunch from Practical Paleo and some smoky tortilla-less Mexican chicken soup from balanced bites for lunch. Trying to keep my eating in check since am spending way too much time lying down as sitting makes my leg hurt.
They didn't find anything in the x ray so now they are trying to get an MRI for my leg. We figured it wasn't the bones. Sometimes I think the insurance companies cost themselves by their decisions. They thought I should have an x ray first. Those co pays cost me too:confused:

Debbie, I think that it has been literally years since I did legs and glutes. it would probably kill me right now. LOL yes, I am finding that there could be other uses for the fork :p

Roselyn, why did you have to mention holidays. Really I keep seeing Halloween stuff in the stores and I think no way am I buying that stuff and having it around that early. It seems from then till after new years it is an eating fest.

Today I did a Cardio Coach mix that was tough. I wasn't up to my 100% today for some odd reason. I did well enough with this one, though. Had a good workout.

CARDIO STATS:
55 minutes total

17 minutes in zone

Today I did Cathe's Push Pull Upper 3 times premix, 65 min., 327 calories. I then did the first 10 minutes of workout 2 of Jillian's Yoga Inferno 41 calories. I stopped at the squat thrusts. I finished with Shiva's Power Flow Fire and Water,20 minutes, 53 calories. Total time was 95 minutes and calories burned 421.

Today I did the upper body work of Super Sets. That was actually a really good workout. I was surprised. My left shoulder is still bothering me when I lift and what bothers me the most is my rotator cuff. Not sure how that is affecting the section between my spine and my shoulder blade, but that is where it is starting. It was burning while doing the shoulder work today and I only used 3# weights. I wonder what I did to it? I probably should get it x-rayed to see what is going on.

At least it's no constant pain anymore, just when I workout and a little after. weird.

Workout is done. I started with X10 pre-mix low impact and fat burning circuit, 40 minutes, 327 calories. On this one I modified air jacks, tuck jumps, and lunge jump switches. I then did Rockout Knockout Heavy bag 10 minutes,68 calories. I did not actually kick the bag on kicks though. I followed with the core and abs from Lean Legs and Abs, and Flex train, 18 min, 78 calories. I finished with Tracey's Yoga Solutions Post Run segment, 17 minutes, 42 calories. I forgot how long she has you stay in the down dog position. My arms were getting tired. This was 86 minutes and calories burned was 515.

Debbie, that is too bad about your shoulder. Maybe if you could find what causing it you could do something about it. Although if you are like me, ou have probably done every self care thing there is to do. I used to like doing an upper and lower split with Super Sets.

Today I did Run Fit and had an EXCELLENT workout. I love this workout. I know I say that every time I do it, but it's true. I really wish Candace would make more. Did I tell you all I emailed her and she emailed me back? She's living in Hawaii and is teaching at a fitness gym out there. She said her running workouts are on the back burner for now. What a bummer. :(

Diane Sue - Well, I'm torn at finding out. If it's a torn rotator cuff then surgery is the answer and I refuse to have shoulder surgery. I've heard horror stories about it. I guess I should just at least get it x-rayed. I hate going to doctors.

Today I did Flex train w/u, back, chest, disc lunge, and triceps, 28 min, 116 calories. I checked out the other chapters which I felt had more jumping than my leg could handle so skipped them. I then added some extra barbell rows, triceps dips, and triceps push ups 12 min, 38 calories. (this was more to fill time while thinking about what to do next) I then did Body Max 2 upper, abs, and stretch 37 min. , 140 calories
I finished off with Pedal Power w/u, songs 1,2,3,10,11,12 cool down stretch, 13 off bike stretch, 30 minutes, 215 calories. I pretty much avoided the heavier hills. I really liked this workout :D

Debbie, I am right there with you on being torn on finding out. I don't want surgery on my knee either. I will check out all alternatives if it came to that.

Friday I did X10 hi/low and then X10 cardio blast. Today, Saturday, was back and bis for me.

Had my sister spend the night she has had some bad stomach issues, maybe you guys have some ideas, bloodwork (2x) all normal, cat scan on abdominal area all normal, yesterday she had an endoscopy and everything inside stomach normal, he did take a biopsy to check for bacteria. She has attacks, some have been pretty painful, but mostly discomfort, no food actually bothers her. She also has had a hydroscan (i think that is it) on gallbladder function and that was normal. very strange. Alot of the symptoms sound like gallbladder, according to docs, so she is ready for them to just take that out. I thought food allergies but it is not lower gi but upper. I feel so bad for her, it is just her and I and my parents, but she never married and is alone so was with my parents thurs and me last night. any thoughts??

Happy weekend!!

Roselyn, has she been checked for Krohn's Disease? It sounds like it could be that. Or this is sort of out there, but maybe have her see a holistic doctor. People with stomach issues usually have mold growing inside of them. They usually say to take Neem, where you can get at The Vitamin Shoppe or Vitamin World. I took it for a while but broke out in hives and it itched really bad but I felt really good otherwise. I obviously stopped taking it but every now and then I take two a day and that is ok. She had me taking six a day.

Hey, it's worth a shot. It may help her and since it's a natural supplement, she can take it with any other prescriptions she's on.

This morning I just did X10 Step. The choreography was all familiar and easy to follow. I am guessing if I were to go back and read what X10 is I would see that all of them add some weights in with the cardio. The workout was 28 minutes and calories burned 211. I got my HR up to 160 which hasn't happened in awhile. I did modify a little because there was some jumping which while using my left leg it was more a hop. Also the second half you use 4 risers on each side and it is not jumping but is things like step up to knee raise with bicep curls etc.. I used 8's throughout even on the part where Cathe and cast used 15#. Also I used only one riser on each end for the first part. That is all that there was time for because we were heading out to watch OSU play. So, we had lunch with friends watched the pregame walk through (parade) and wandered around till they let us into the stadium. Then afterward we went to dinner. My leg is not real happy with me right now. It felt okay before we left

Roselyn, I am not sure what I could suggest. Daughter in law had a lot of pain and ended up having her gallbladder removed. I have a book called Practical Paleo that has different health needs and diet and lifestyle guidelines to use. Along with supplements to help. There is a digestive health segment that addresses, IBS,IBD Inflammatory bowl disease such as crohn's, colitis, and ulcerative colitis, also crohn's disease (autoimmune)
Maybe it could be something like one of these.
