Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for week of 10/7

Today was cardio and I chose Cardio Coach #2 Revised. I had a great workout. I don't care much for this workout, but I like doing it once in a while. The warmup is too short, only 4 minutes. I like a 5 minutes warmup and then some steady state before you get into the challenges. This one is a 4 minutes warmup and then right into Challenge 1.

Oh well...

CARDIO STATS:
40 minutes total
7 minutes below zone
14 minutes in zone
24 minutes above zone
364 calories burned

Roselyn - Check out last week's thread, Diane Sue and I gave some recommendations for your sister's stomach issues.

Thanks you guys I read your post about stomach issues and I did tell her, keeping our fingers crossed we find out soon.

Today was chest and back for me.

I did STS Muscle Endurance Week 1 disc 1 Chest, Shoulders, and Biceps with the extended stretch, 65 minutes, 303 calories. I then did Chalean Extreme Recharge 20 min. , 62 calories. Total time w 85 minutes, 365 calories.
My leg was hurting terribly when I got up this morning. I did nothing yesterday, in fact I had a long nap. So, the only thing I can think caused this setback is all of the walking when we went to the OSU football game and the fact that I had tripped off a curb and kind of twisted my ankle. It hurt and when we finally got into the stadium and found our seats I had to take some Advil. Anyway, I am sure hoping that it improves by tomorrow.

Roselyn, I hope your sister can find something that relieves the pain.

Debbie, I kind of like a longer warm up before workouts get intense.

Today I did the standing leg and glute work plus the ab work of Butts & Guts. Good leg workout but I don't care for the ab workout. That is twice I've done abs - I forgot to mention last week that I did MIS abs after my upper body work. I was sore for days after that. So I did this one this morning and some of the movements I like, some I don't. Had a good workout, though.

I did STS muscle endurance disc 2, back and triceps, followed by Cathe's new Lean legs and abs doing abs only(I like this one). I finished off with Turbo Fire stretch 40. Total time was 2 hours and calories burned 363. I sure wish I could do some cardio. I am missing the leg workouts but right now the Advil has worn off and my leg hurts and I am not feeling like much except lying around. My daughter in law called from our doctors office and she finally got the insurance approval for the MRI (they were saying another 14 days) and she got me scheduled for Friday morning. Hopefully we can do something about this.

Today was Cardio Coach #4 - another one I don't really care for but I always have a good workout and a good calorie burn when I do it. That is true for today. Had a great workout.

CARDIO STATS:
46 minutes total
7 minutes below zone
15 minutes in zone
28 minutes above zone
416 calories burned
2.5 miles traveled

Today I tried to check out Cathe's Party Rockin Step, I did the w/u and combos 1&2, then the stretch 25 min, 145 cal.. This was too hard on the leg and I had to modify a bunch I sort of walked the pivots, and no jumping. So, I did Rockout Knockout premix cardio gloves and heavybag, 36 min, 231 calories.I did not do the jacks, I just did side to side steps like Shaun T does in T 25 for modifier. It wasn't too bad, mostly punches in the cardio glove segments with cardio segments added in.I really like the music on both of these. I then did Flex train Abs only and the Core from lean legs and abs 18 m 71 calorie, followed by Ab Circuits yoga based abs, 15 min, 51 calories. I finished with Yoga Shatki lunge and supine segments, 11 in, 24 calories. Total time spent was 1 hr 45 min and calories burned 522.
Tomorrow I will do a total upper body workout, Friday off for the MRI and Saturday yoga and abs. That will be it till I come back from out of town unless I do some yoga and stretching.

No workout yesterday or today. I slept wrong on Wednesday night and I have a kink in my neck. Didn't want it to get any worse. I feel better today but still feel it. I hate it when that happens.

Yesterday my mom had a follow up MRI appointment for her brain surgery. We get to the hospital at 9 for the MRI and then we had an appointment with her Neurosurgeon at 11:30. We sat in a little patient room (me, my mom and my brother) for 2 hours before I went out to see what the heck was going on. The nurses couldn't tell me why we were waiting so long. I told them we would wait until 2 and if the doctor didn't show up by then we were leaving and he could just call us with the results of the MRI. 2:10 goes by and still no doctor. We up and left. That is just wrong to make people wait that long for a follow-up appointment that wouldn't take longer than 10 minutes anyways. Why can they treat people like that? We had the nurse almost in tears which I felt bad about because it isn't her fault, but come on. That is no way to run a practice. We've waited this long for him before, too, but had to wait because it was for her surgery. That was just bull. I'm still mad about it.
