Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for week of 10/14

Hi everyone! Today I did Cardio Coach #1 and had a really good workout. I ran .25 miles more than I usually do for this workout so I'm happy with that! I had a hard time getting my HR up and it seemed like this workout was really easy. I guess that's a good thing!

CARDIO STATS:
40 minutes total
7 minutes below zone
15 minutes in zone
19 minutes above zone
325 calories burned
2.25 miles traveled

Sorry that I have not posted. I am away from home right now. I will head back day after tomorrow. I staying with grandchildren who's parents are out of town. I did bring some workout stuff with me. I may do something tomorrow. Right now I am still limited. My doctor read the results of the MRI with me today and it was not quite clear on what they saw. A small tear in the meniscus that may be healing and the cause of a small cyst. Another cyst. One lateral one behind the knee. Some arthritis and degenerative wear which would be normal for someone my age. The doctor wants to send me to an orthopedic doctor so I have to get the MRI films from the hospital. Also the reason that I went in today was for my eye. I have a scratch on it and I had an eyelash growing under the lid that had it all read and irritated. I was afraid I was going to have problems driving home. So, my day was pretty much running all over in the rain. Took the children to school, went to two doctor appointments and two pharmacies trying to find one with my eye drops in stock.

Today I did the leg work from 4DS. Haven't touched those DVD's in ages. It was an ok workout, not one of Cathe's best, but it did the job.

Diane Sue - I'm sorry you are having such issues. I read last week that you were getting an MRI and I was going to ask you what it was for. I hope the knee can heal on it's own. I'm also having knee issues, it isn't fun. Ouch on the eye! Hope it's feeling better.

This morning I did Leaner legs and abs warm up, abs, stretch followed by Chalean Dynamic Flow yoga. It felt good to move. I really do feel that the leg is better than at the start of all of this.

Today I did Press Play (skipped last challenge due to time) and had a really good workout considering I had a stomach ache during the workout. Not sure what that was about. Anyways, I ran my @ss off and burned some good calories.

CARDIO STATS:
62 minutes total
6 minutes below zone
14 minutes in zone
44 minutes above zone
561 calories burned
3.5 miles traveled

No workout. I made the trip back home this morning so I could call and get my MRI films as soon as possible since my doctor is going to refer me to an orthopedic doctor near home.
I will probably do upper body tomorrow. I need to catch up since I had company for several days then left town with two of the grandchildren. So, that is what I am doing with my day.

This morning I did Flex Train omitting the lower jumps and low squats. On some parts that were compound lower upper I just did the upper. I also skipped the firewalker portion. I think that band around the ankles would have not been good for the knee at all. This was 53 minutes. I then did X train delt bonus, 13 minutes and finished off with Les Mills Pump Flow 20 min. Total time was 86 minutes and calories burned 444.

No workout yesterday or today, I've had a lot going on at work and have just been too tired to get up and workout so early. I'll be back at it on Monday.

Hope you all have great workouts and a great day!

Not much of a workout today. I am tired and need to go pick up those MRI films and hit the store for something for my joints. I couldn't even do boxing today because a couple of my finger joints are kind of purple which happens every once in awhile. They were doing pretty well when I was taking Capraflex.. I didn't replace it and am paying for it now.
Workout ws 10 minutes of Pedal Power, then I did Amy's Hi/Lo Knockout abs, finished off with Z Cut Power Yoga w/u, warrior endurance, bonus abs, and cooldown. Total time was 44 minutes and calories burned was 224.

This morning I did X10 low impact modifying some, 25 min,134 calories. I then did X train all upper body with core #1, 90 min., 522 calories. Total time was 1hr 55 min and calories burned 656

Today I did X10 cardio blast/hi low and some ab work

Ok I finally got a heart rate monitor, Polar FT4 going to try and use tomorrow. These things always intimidate at first, so I put the chest strap on and go?? I guess i go to training? Diane Sue, I think you have one do you just use alone or do you do follow up through the computer they suggest?

Roselyn, all of the polars are similar in use. If they have a set up with VO2 I do that. I have the FT4 and it is not my favorite. You can change the battery yourself and that is why I chose it. It is easy to use but it gives me low
heart rates and calorie burns compared to my others. I know it is off because I keep track of calories out and calories in. It usually gives much lower and I believe on Amazon the reviewers said this. So just know, that you are probably burning more and HR is probably a bit higher. My F6 gives the closest to what Cathe's workout manager gives. They do not make that one anymore. I have the FT60 which is my most expensive one. It has more settings and the soft strap with self battery changes. It also does the VO2 max and own zone for the HR set up. Anyway, I don't think that any of them are completely accurate. They are more of a guideline as to how hard that you are working. Good luck with it.
