Morning Maniacs-

I gotta finish up a few things ........I'll be right back to check in. I thought you guys would have already started chatting!!

Good Morning Maniacs!!!

Gosh, I got a busy day today. Won't be checking back, I don't think. Got chest/shoulders/tris and ab work to do. Grocery shopping and cleaning and 5 dogs to take out inbetween. My FIL's dogs are use to going out every 2 hours cuz he smokes outside so much. Challenges me. The one dog is so afraid that you have to hand feed her and same with water.

So ya'll have great workouts and I will talk more tomorrow.

Charlotte~~

This morning I worked out for about an hour and 20 minutes. Didn't mean to, it just happened that way.

Started out with shoulders. Did 3 sets/8-10 reps, 2 minutes rest. This is what I did: (Should have went higher but these were hard just the same)

Standing Lateral Raises: 2 sets/20 reps - 5's (warmup)

Incline Lateral Raise: 3 sets/10 reps 8#

Front Raises: 3 sets/10 reps 12's

Bent Over Lateral Raises: 3 sets/10 reps 15's

Then I did the ab work from Butts & Gutts, I did the stability ball one. It was ok, didn't get a really good burn with it though. Her older ab workouts seem better then the new ones.

The I did Cardio Coach #3. I really love this workout, I haven't done it in a long time. Wore my HR monitor for this part only. Cardio workout was 36 min., was in my zone for 27 minutes and burned 197 calories. Travelled 2 miles.

Hope you all have great workouts today!

I'm back......I thought Charlotte's FIL left? Didn't he take the doggies? I'm confused.

This morning I did P90 Masters Sculpt 5-6. I used heavy weights and thought I was gonna do lower reg range, but it seems I've gotten a bit stronger, so this workout was in the 8-12 rep range. I like to do this with 6-8 reps, as heavy as I can and run in between exercises for added cardio benefit. This used to get me sore the day after, but now I'm not sure I will be. I also did 25 minutes of Tae Bo Amped - Super Charged Fat Burner (liked this one or I'm getting past the learning curve with the bar) and the 10 minute blast from Lotte Berk Essentials, as well as David Kirsch's One on One Abdominals (13"). Total workout was just shy of 1 hour 50" and I burned 540 calories. I also did Yoga for Tennis Elbow & Bad Knees (35").

I'm a bit late checking in this morning, as I had to put makeup on. I'm supposed to be going for a 2nd interview somewhere, but they are calling me to tell me what time later this AM.

Has everyone heard that Debbie Siebers is coming out with Slim Series Express in the next month or so? This is good....as I don't always have time to do the 90 minute tapes in that series.

Has anyone ever tried any of the Itrains? A fellow VFer was kind enough to burn some of her MP3's to CD for me....and sent me 4 to try. I thought they'd be something different for the legs. They're supposed to be the best ballet workouts out there, so I guess I'll find out.

I got my Mindy Preorder yesterday. All Systems Go looks crazy hard. I think Mindy turned Psycho. I have to preview it to see how to modify some of the shoulder work since they use a body bar and do lots of military presses (and I'm not allowed to do those). She doesn't stop in this one......like Drill Max and it's got lots of higher impact moves.

Deb - Did you see GH yesterday? I'm so upset about Jason possibly marrying Lizzie...........ugh!! Poor Sam. I don't know if I'll be able to watch that!

Diane Sue- I went to Arby's yesterday for a salad, but that Martha's Vinyard salad's dressing has 190 calories! Yikes. I ended up getting my usual low calorie dressing with the Sante Fe one. What Rasp Vinag do you buy from the store? I've bought Ken's STeakhouse, but I'm not really thrilled with it. IS there a better one?

Dallys- Previously when I looked at the Great in 8....I didn't do it cuz I was working..........and now I've been home and had time (as they add extra cardio in the later phase) to do it and I didn't!! I was waiting for some of the preordered stuff to come in....but I guess I shouldn't have.

Jen - So glad you joined us over here. This place will definitely motivate you to do more and be the best you can be!! Good for you working out when you didn't feel like it. You go girl!! As far as the TJ's sculpting, I don't usually do them as a "stand alone" workout. I add them onto other workouts and I recently got a set of heavier bands from Amazon......so they're better. I also agree with Diane Sue on Kick, PUnch and Crunch. I like it but can't remember if this one was one of the one's that took me a while to catch on......and Cardio Party 3 was a bit challenging with coreography at first (I think she does that on purpose ...as she makes more workouts). I also add the propulsions, jumps, etc.....always do with aerobics. I'm the same way as you with Deadlifts. Don't really feel them unless I do them that way, but I haven't been......cuz Cathe doesn't? NO clue who is correct. I think Tae Bo Amped will eventually go to Collage. I hope your not disappointed with HIp HOp Abs now.....as the weight work in that series is not a "stand alone" traditional weight/cardio circuit either. YBB is the same way.......and I only use them as an add on or on a day I want something easy....or even if I lifted the previous day....as they're not that intense. (geez ....maybe I should have responded to all of your questions over at yoga....since I wrote a book again!! darned transcriptionists!!!)

Have a great day and great workouts. I should be around here and there.

Good Morning Maniacs!

Quick note here, Lora I was going through some past threads and noted you got the Sean workout jams for Abs from Beachbody and you like him??? I'm kinda bummed I got a discount code good for 5 days right before I left for vacation and was going to order and then completely forgot to! I want to try that. See how broke you are making me???

Char...good luck with the doggies!!!! Geez every two hours.

DH has been sick with the flu since we got back..we have taxes tonight and I have to be in court the rest of the day. So another day where I just pray to have a workout.

Hi to everyone I missed and have excellent workouts everyone!!!

Janie...I e-mailed you...(thanks)

Amber

Gotta minute...

Lora,

FIL left temporarily to Arizona and Florida to find where he wants to live. May be here in Virginia. He is returning next week.:p :( :7 }(

Debbie,

Great workout, but I did the butts and guts core work and damn, I felt it really good. Guess I got use to ab ripper so much. Dunno.

Amber,

Hey hey! Spinning in circles here.

Jen Jen,

Don't let my comment discourage you from doing P90X. I get bored with ANYTHING after a long time with it. P90X is a great workout and I think alot of people like it and have gotten terrific results from it. It has made me stronger too.

Charlotte~~

Char...spinning back at ya...yeah I got a bit confused about the FIL saga going back in the threads...It appears he left for awhile with DH??? Is looking for homes...then said he wanted to stay with you guys, or come back? You poor poor woman. You deserve more than a mnassage for what you've been putting up with. But, I'm sure DH knows now...

Jen...you should try P90x...it's worth every cent and it advances balance strength and stamina in different ways than cathe. I like it and got great results so far (aside from the vacation weight I gained) I will finish and repeat the last phase just to say I did it. I may do it again this summer too.

Amber

Toasty - I didn't think you were gonna be around.......so I didn't post anything to you above! Oh, I thought the FIL was gone permanently. Have you checked out the Neil Gaiman line at BPAL? I wore Mama Ji yesterday and it's awesome. Sort of funny smelling at first, but once the top note burns off a bit......mmmmmmmmm. Although, we do have different tastes, I'm finding out.

Amber - not sure what to tell you about Hip Hop Abs. I like the cardio ones for a "different" type of aerobic workout. Sean is cool. I like him. He's a trip and really energetic. The music is so/so. They are sort of like YBB in my liking them. They are okay as add on's or shorter workouts, but I"m not sure about stand alone workouts. The volume 1 aerobics is lower impact than the 2nd level.....which is really good. I've only done the weight/cardio cirucuit one ones and it has a lot of standing ab work with weights and my low back hurt after I did it, so I haven't done it again (yet), but my LB is starting to feel better. The weight work in the circuits .....is more core based.....and as I said, need to try them some more. I noticed today, I"m getting to like Tae Bo Amped a bit better. I did some of the Amped (double timed) moves with the bar in one hand today (like doing punches with 3 lb weights) and was able to get thru them a bit better....not sure what my shoulders will think. So after that today with Amped...I'm wondering if there is just a "learning curve" with both Hip HOp Abs and Tae Bo Amped (like the TLT's) and once you do them more, you'll like them more. Right now, I wouldn't want to recommend them unless you could get them on Ebay or if you really just want something fun that is a big change from what you're doing......then I'd say go for it. I tend to love the lighthearded fun of the Yoga Booty Ballet's, etc.....so Hip Hop Abs is fine for me, but that's just me.

Lora - I have about 6 of the Itrain workouts and tried one of them once. Didn't click with me, its not like CC at all. The lady just tells you what speed to go and does a countdown thing. Its weird. I'm glad they were cheap workouts. I may try them again once I get tired of the cc workouts. I hope I never get tired of doing them, though.

I know, what is up with Jason asking Liz to marry him? GMAFB! That was just so stupid, no consideration for Sam, nothing. And I thougth someone was suppose to die? I hope it isn't Lulu.

Good Morning, so far I have ran 3 miles on the treadmill then took the grandchildren to school. I am going to go back in a few minutes and w/up a little and do the M&F Hers rotation. I want to leave early to go back to school to wash the car. Our workers are here again doing the roof. They might finish today.

Lora, I usually bring the salad home and use my own dressing. Otherwise I use about half of the dressing packet. I don't think that is that many calories though. Some of those dressing packets are over 200 calories. Most are double portion size that is listed on your salad dressing bottles. Right now I am using the Wishbone Raspberry Hazelnut Vinegrette with extra virgin olive oil. I have noticed that a lot of the dressings that say they have olive oil also have other oils as well:( This is a pretty good dressing. It does have 5 gm fat per serving. If you used the Arby's Santa Fe Ranch dressing it has 290 cal. per packet and a lot of sodium 680 mg..Fat is up there too at 31 gm.. Not sure if that is what you had though. I have a bowl in my refrigerator of these fast food dressings I save for guests who don't want what I eat:)

Charlotte, good luck with your busy day.

Debbie, good workout. It looks like you put in quite a bit of time. I have looked at the i trains and wondered how they were in comparison to CC. Thanks. I will probably hold off.

Lora, I just reread your post. I guess you did use your own dressing:) With most of the raspberry dressings I like to have some onions and pepper on my salad to give it a little more flavor as they are kind of bland. I think the Ken's are awfully sweet tasting.

Morning Maniacs! It looks like today will be fairly warm, up to 50 degrees, so I'm going to wait until after work and then either go for a good walk or ride my bike and also try to get some ab work in.

Speaking of "Itrain". If you are interested you can download one for free with this code YL2007 at checkout. You will have to registar (they don't ask for any card info.) and you can download any workout you want. I downloaded Itri, it's 70 min. of a combo of workouts. I haven't tried it yet.

Do any of you know how to post with italics, bold, or color etc? I swear I've seen posts containing these.

Diane Sue - I get the Reduced Calorie Ranch from ARby's and it's 90 calories. So - do you think the Wishbone is the best Raspberry Ving you've tried from the store? I'll have to try that one. How many calories per serving is it?

Hi ladies! Peeking in at lunch again...can't resist! You guys have already gotten in some great WOs!

Amber-If you do P90X again, I am on board if you want a WO buddy! Discussed with Lora and Meg at yoga thread a few days ago to get them to do it, too! So, we should all definately team up on it!

Will catch up with everyone later...can't stay too long...I'm HR so I have to be the example...company's watching. ;)

Mornin Maniacs,

Lora, your workouts are awesome as always. Keep up the great work.

Char, sounds like you have your day cut out for you. Have a good one. You are a great mommy with your doggies. They are lucky.

Debbie, that looks like a great workout!

Amber, I e-mailed back at cha. Hope you get a workout in today.

Diane Sue, i hope the workers will be finished today for your sake. But, I bet your roof looks fantastic!

Randi, Good Job! That is not an easy workout.

Dallys, Enjoy your 50 degree weather and walk/bike ride. Let us know which one you decided on. My ab work is tomorrow.

Jen, P90X is awesome. Enjoy it with the others. It's always great to do exercises with other people.

Today is my cardio day. I've already did Power Max, it's an hour of step ups. Later I'll be doing yoga. Haven't decided yet which one to do. I may do the P90X stretch instead. We'll see later on.

I'll be in and out of here, so catch you as the day goes on.

Janie

Dallys- yay....you chilled with Eion.

Has anyone seen these yet? These look like something I'll really like.......not sure about the rest of us.....but here's the linky. I love the dude with the tattoos leading them too (surprise!!). These look like what I wished Budokon would have been!

Hi Girls!!!

I tried all day to post but I had meeting after meeting, issue after issue. :) Maybe tomorrow. This morning I did my own mish mosh of things working muscles that I felt needed working. Kinda weird huh? But it was fun. So I mixed upper and lower body but with no method to my madness - mostly using my Smith machine but also some free weights.

I just cooked some ground turkey for turkey chili to do in the crock pot tomorrow. I think it smelled funny. DH thinks it smells fine. I can hardly stand the smell right now. DH says it stinks like turkey always does. I think I'll eat something else tomorrow and see how DH feels by Friday morning. }( If it were up to me, I would have thrown it out.

Lora - I did a post on OD about that Xflowsion a few weeks or a month ago. I think it looks really cool!
