Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Wed Aug 1

I ended up doing Muscle Max and then I did 15 minutes of HIIT cardio on the bike....1 minute sprint followed by 2 minutes recovery. Workout was 1 hour 30 minutes and I burned 411 calories.

I went to the foot doctor yesterday. He took x-rays and the fracture now appears on the films and he says it's not stable enough right now for lots of walking -- even with the boot on. He told me I should get a wheelchair in Vegas, but I know that's not going to happen. I'm also not supposed to be jumping on the rebounder or trying to do any aerobics in my boot...other than the bike! This really sucks. I'm probably going to have to have another bone scan to rule out osteopenia again also.

Deb - The interview I went on the other day was more of a prescreening. This place calls you back for several interviews if they are interested. I went to the first one and took a bunch of tests and answered questions. We'll see what happens.
 
This morning was back, bi's & traps. I feel much better, my right calf is still a little sore and hamstrings are still a bit tight but I'm not in pain anymore.

Back (2 min. rest)
Wide Grip Pullups: 6/6/5½ (up from 6/5/4½)
Barbell Rows: 75# - 3 sets/8 reps (same)
One Arm Rows: 42# - 3 sets/10 reps (up 2#)
**Notes: My goal for WG pullups is 3 sets/6 reps. I'm getting there. Those are such a challenge for me. I kept the barbell rows the same but concentrated on form and tried to go as flat back as possible. Low back still feels a strain doing this exercise.

Biceps (2 min. rest)
Barbell Curls: 60# - 3 sets/6 reps (same)
Zottman Curls: 22's - 3 sets/10 reps (up 2#)
Concentration Curls: 20's - 3 sets/12 reps (same but upped the reps)
**Notes: Barbell curls felt fairly easy with sets 1 & 2. Set 3 about killed me but I kept good form. Zottmans about made me puke. Those are friers!!!

Traps (1:30 min. rest)
Incline Shrugs: 42's - 2 sets/15 reps (up 2#)
Standing DB Shrugs: 42's - 1 set/15 reps
**Notes: Inclines are not for me, I won't be doing them again. Twice now doing these I pulled a muscle in my shoulder/neck area. It's hurting a bit now but not too bad. Not sure why this is happening but it happened once before. I'll stick with standing shrugs.

Good morning. I took my measurements today. NOT impressed at all. Everything went up, most just .25 to .5 of an inch, but my waist (where all my fat goes) went up 1 inch, and 2 inches around my belly button. That seems to be my fat collection point lol. But I know some of it is water weight since I had too much sodium yesterday. It sucks, but I am confident I can bounce back quickly. It is the first of the month, and I have a game plan.

Lora- I am sorry, I missed how you fractured your foot? Hope it heals quickly for you.

Deb- Yeah, I would say Zottman's at that weight could bring on some puke!! LOL Good for you. Great WO.

Morning Maniacs! The John Hiatt concert last night was Excellent! He had Shawn Colvin open for him. She was good, but John blew her away. He usually plays small venues and both times I've seen him he has played solo, no band. He's so good he doesn't need a band. If you ever get a chance to see him...do it!

Was going to go for a walk this morning, but I'm feeling tired...got home late and a girl needs her sleep.:) I will be doing BM2 upper 2X later today and maybe a walk later tonight. Good news is that I've lost another lb.! My game plan is working and I'm happy about that.:)

Lora- Listen to the doc and stay off that foot! Although, I don't know if I'd do the wheelchair thing either. Be careful with it in Vegas.

Debbie- Great job on the workout! You are doing great with the Pullups! I've never tried incline shrugs. Smart for you to listen to your body and give them up.

Anne- I'll do upperbody for you later. I'll be a maniac.;)

Meg- With all you've gone through lately, I think you've maintained quite well. You will bounce back in no time! What's your game plan? My game plan has been logging calories and watching ratios, 5 meals a day. That's been the biggest factor. Exercise wise, I'm just doing One total-body, one upper, one lower, and interval cardio on alternate days, walking on lifting days.

Do some serious u-body for me. I am hoping i can do a little cardio at least fast walking. We shall see today..

Dallys- My game plan is to follow Deb's circiut mix rotation. I am going to follow the generic breakdown of it, and pick my daily WO's. I was going to do more of one part per day plus cardio, but I got to thinking that, sometimes that makes me feell like I am not working the rest of me enough, and since I need to get back on track, I want to hit all the body at once a little more. Once I get thru this rotation, then I can buckle down and fry my muscles more that way!}( Plus I have done this rotation before and had good results.

Good morning!

This morning I did an hour on the bike in the basement. Easy spin for my worn out legs. Then I did biceps and triceps. That tricep workout is bound to whip my triceps into shape yet! They were shaking. I'm sure I'll have DOMS.

I just read on www.foxnews.com about that Great Dane who shot his 21 year old owner by accidentally knocking a LOADED gun off the table - at 2am! He's in critical condition, but I guess will be okay because his fiance says she is worried about what he'll do to the dog when he gets home. Helllllloooooo!!!!! Like it's the dog's fault??? He has a loaded gun on the table at 2am, a 150 pound dog who ACCIDENTALLY knocks the gun off the table and now the dog's safety may be in jeopardy? Nice, real nice. What is wrong with people?

OOOOh I feel good! I just did Drill Max cardio premix plus Amy Bento's Hi/Lo Xtreme combo 1, interval 1, combo 2, interval 2, cool down and stretch. I am soooooo hungry right now so I better eat!

I think I am going to try and keep track of my calories, and maybe protein for atleast a week. I want to hover around 1700, for just the next few days to keep myself in check. Usually I get really annoyed with counting numbers like cals, so I probably won't do it for too long.

I'm going to TRY to do it at least until I get to my goal. Maybe alittle longer to figure out what I need to maintain. I'm aiming for 1500 a day, moderate protein (30%) for now. I have so many freakin' custom foods in Fitday now that it's getting pretty easy.

Toasty - Beth didn't give us any hints as to when the next BIG update will occur. I think she's evil cuz she likes to sit back and watch us all speculate and such! The new 13 smells so freakin' good. It's spicy and I loves it. I cheated and took a week's worth of Mom's prednisone so I could get my sense of smell back for a few days......my bad!!

I'm so envious of all of the cardio doers!! Bento's HI/LO Extreme!!! Yikes. I can't wait to get my feet on the floor again. I just bought 2 more spinning DVDs and a pair of bike shorts for my situation! I hope they help. I have to even be careful doing yoga cuz he said that going on my toes is the worst thing I can do. That means no Squeeze or Lotte legs either!!! My last fracture, I would have done anything that didn't feel like it put too much pressure on my foot......but I will wait until after Vegas and see how I feel before I start being a bit more brave. I really think he's just being super super careful about my foot. He did say if I fracture it worse than it is and displace it, it will need surgery. I told my DH he'll have to be buying me new jeans after a week in Vegas with only minimal walking on a stupid cast bootie. He's already not speaking to me. He's so pissed! I can see me standing all night at the Hinder, Buckcherry concert too..............ought to be a challenge of being on my feet for 7 hours straight ......and I got General Admission tickets....so there's no where to sit down...unless I go sit in the bathroom on the toilet!!! LOL> ...........rant over!!

I just called and followed up on my interview from Friday with the Nursing Home. Left a voice mail saying how much I'm interested in the job....blah ...blah. I got an official rejection letter from the National Fire place today in the mail.
 
It has been a largely interrupted morning. I am just finishing lunch. I ham having a spinach salad w/ blueberries, walnuts and a vinegrette. I started my workout with Sweatfest step stopping after the 3rd combo of section 2, then I did LIC cardio only and abs, then Amys Abs and str abs"2 adding resistance to both, I followed with 3 sets of hanging knee raises with 12#, and 3 sets of 50# barbell rollouts on toes 10 reps.. I finished with Eoin Finn's Yoga Bliss. I hope I get something done today. I have all 5 grandchildren here again today.

Suz, I can't believe the dog would be blamed for the gun going off. Who keeps a gun on their nightstand anyway? Maybe the guy needs to take a class on gun safety.

Debbie, great workout.

Lora, just remember you do not want to have surgury. Take care of that foot.

Meghan, I hate logging my food intake. I only do it if I think I have gotten way off track. It keeps me honest though when I do. Sometimes I will think twice about eating something because I don't want to have to log it in:)

Hello Peeps!

Well, I found a Great Dane rescue that works in the Memphis area and I e-mailed them this morning and told them I knew they probably knew of the story, but just in case I was concerned about that comment the fiance made. They wrote back right away and said "We are aware of this situation and checking out different avenues to try to make sure this beautiful boy is safe." So that made me feel better. I hope they will be successful.

Great workouts today! Definitely a bunch of maniacs!

Wow - how sad about that Minneapolis bridge that collapsed during rush hour. It looks like an earthquake happened. I've got to quit watching the news I think. :(

Suz- Keep us posted on the Dane! Haven't heard about the bridge yet. I'm wathching to much fluff TV.:p

Anne-Yeah! Now I can quit working out for you! LOL! I'm exhausted!:p

Diane Sue- That's the one good thing about logging food...If I'm to lazy to log it, I won't eat it. Keeps the mindless-snacking down for sure.

I am very proud of myself. I had a good first night at work. I think I can handle it. Atleast tonight wasn't to busy, so I could really learn everything. And, I ate a grilled chicken salad. I wish I knew how many cals were in it, but I didn't eat it all. Before I went to work, I had only consumed about 500 cals. Seems so low. Felt like more, so I am sure I stayed under or at my days goal.
Looking foward to tomorrows WO. Although my shoulder is sore right now. Hope it is fine tomorrow.
