Morning Maniacs -

This morning I did Kelly Coffey's 30 Minutes to Fitness. I did the first half hour with cardio breaks and the last 30 minutes with abdominal breaks. I had a better workout this time, as I went slightly heavier than Kelly except for deadlifts which I went light on due to my back problems. I REALLY worked the cardio breaks and did get my HR up in the 130's...but they are very short......so not a lot of cardio. Workout was 61" and I burned 398 calories.

Have great workouts everyone.

Good Morning
Lora great workout! Do you follow a rotation?
Getting ready to do GS chest and tris.
Have a great day!!

Good Morning Maniacs!!!

Need to figure out what I am doing today. I guess tomorrow or friday I will FINIALLY get to ride my bike as weather is STILL gonna be icky today. My weight is 118 so I need to cut carbs down some more. I think it was just a tad too high yesterday. Good thing is I don't feel the jiggles anymore and my body fat is in 14% range now.

Deb,

Could you send week 3 of rotation as I am already done now?

Morning Maniacs!!

Down another pound. So encouraging!! I have Plyometrics on tap today. My quads are still sore from B&G the other day, so this should be fun lol! Gotta get to breakfast.

Char- how do you measure your body fat? I have no clue where I am...other then the unhealthy range lol

Meg,

YOU ROCK! You got great attitude and I am impressed with how your coming along so quickly...keep burning it up...so good to hear you lost another pound!!!

I have Omron body fat monitor. Works pretty good if you use daily so you know about where you are. Sometimes it can be off though. Take measurments when you first wake up and after you pee. Dh wants to get a scale that tells you your bodyfat...supposely that is suppose to be more accurate. Dunno.

Good Morning, I started out with Sharon Twombly's Athletic Step Jam. I repeated the jam challenge which is all three combos with no breakdown. I did not do the bonus ball workout this time. I am going to do a lighter weight total body workout in a little while.

Charlotte, I bought a bodyfat scale once and took it back. I could stand on it and have one bodyfat measurement, get off and back on and it was different. I remember an instructor saying once that she went to a fitness event and they had one of those and she stood on it and went back and did it and it was different. I have an accumeasure digital caliper that measures 3 areas and seems to be pretty good. Needs a new battery now though. I think key is that whatever we use needs to be pretty consistant so we can tell if bf is going up or down.

Maeghan, you are doing great! I don't envy you doing Plyometrics with sore legs LOL Have fun.

Lora, not a bad calorie burn with only a little cardio. How is the music on that one??

Had a great workout this morning but these two body parts just kill me. Very draining. Sometimes I wish I could split these up and do back in the morning and biceps in the evening but I know I'd never workout in the evenings.

Anyways, this is what I did:

1:30 min. rest between each set

BACK
Chinups:
BW - 15
10# - 7/6
***Did 14 last week with my body weight and 6/6 with 10# so I went up in reps here. I can't believe how much of a difference 10# makes with these.

Overhand Barbell Rows:
75# - 8/8/8/8 (up 5#) PB
***These felt good. I wish my low back would let me go down to 90 degrees.

T-Bar Rows:
70# - 8/8/8/8
***I hate this exercise.

BICEPS
Barbell Curls:
65# - 8/6/6/5
***Last week was 7/6/6/6 so I did better with the reps kind of. My wrists were hurting big time with this exercise. I doubt I'll ever get above this weight because of that.

Incline Dumbbell Curls:
26's - 8/8/7/7 (up 1#)
***These felt good. Last two sets were a struggle, especially with the last two reps.

Preacher Curls:
50# - 8/8/8
***Went down on this because last week I couldn't do 60# or 55# past 6 reps. This felt great!

That is all...

Char - How the heck did you get done with week 2 so fast??? I don't have week 3 done up yet, I'll try to get it done tonight.

Good Morning Maniacs!

I just finished CC#6 and ended up going about 5 miles. I need to get ready for a meeting now but plan on doing a Core Max later this afternoon.

Char-I've heard the same thing about the body fat scales when I was looking into getting one so it's probably not worth the money.

Great workouts everyone!

Hello Everyone.

I haven’t been around much I know, lots going on with me. I just wanted too tell you guys my 7th Grand Child was born yesterday. His name is Treyvon DeLawarence Barnes :D he weigh 6 lbs, OMG he is a cutie, like his Grand mom! :+ Really tho, right now he looks like my son, but we all know how they change from day to day. I spent most of my day a Metro Hospital and it was wonderful. Today, I am pooped!

Then after all that excitement, my BF Grandfather passed last night at 8:30pm. I felted so bad for my Teddy, omg, he loved his GF and they were so closes. I did all I could do to comfort him but man oh man it was a crazy night. Finally after an hour or so, he got himself together and off too the hospital we went, I wanted to be there for him and his family. I’m pretty sure things will calm down after this week

As far as my workout goes, I will get it in when EVER I can hopefully tomorrow.

Meg: ^^^^5 you are doing great.

Linda: Nice workout.

And too everyone else I will catch up with you guys later. I got tons of work on my desk from yesterday. Have a great Day!

Linda - Sorry your head hurts, Linda. Do you have sinus problems? Nice job on the workout! How did you brace your arms for the bicep curls? Awesome job on the chins!! Woo hoo!!! With those numbers, who needs to do them assisted?

Debbie - I think it is just a head cold, a gift from my kids. At least I hope so, the thought of feeling this way for more than a few days just makes me cringe. I usually don't have allergies. On to the Incline Curls, I recently saw a recommendation to do them braced to really fire the biceps so I tried it. The way it was shown, which is how I did it, is if you have the bench that you incline by moving a bar up, you put the bar up but keep the bench flat, then you lean back against the bar with your back and brace your arms on it as well. I think I have some photos of how its done if you'd liked a visual. Just let me know!

Linda

OK..done plyometrics. At first I thought..this isn't so bad...but I quickly got my ass handed to me lol. And then the last 10-15 min I realized that I had NOT eaten enough for breakfast. Got a little light headed here and there. So now I am eating a protien bar and my shake. THe WO was fun tho. I don't have a heart rate monitor, but after the bonus round I quickly took my pulse and it was 166, so I think I def reached my target there lol!!

Is a regular protien shake considered a recovery drink? Or is that something diff??

Linda- hope you feel better. I just *love* it when the kids get me sick.

Teddygirl--CONGRATS on the new family addition. Good to see you again! SOrry about your BF loss.

Linda - I get it about the incline curls. Wow, that sounds like it would hurt the back just have that bar behind you. I may try it, though. I seen a cool exercise for biceps in the men's M&F magazine. You are in a seated position with the barbell in your lap. You curl the bar but the range of motion is cut in half. It says you should be able to curl more then you usually can doing it this way. I will be trying that one soon too. It's kind of like Cathe's crazy 8's except you only do the up motion and you're seated using a barbell. I hope you feel better soon!

Debbie - I thought the bar would hurt too, but it wasn't uncomfortable at all. Go figure? You'll have to let me know how that other curl works out. I see how you could lift more, because that first half from fully extended is a bear a lot of the time.

Linda

Maeghan, thank you!:)

Coni: ^^^^5 on your run, nice work;-)

Debbie: Your workouts our always awesome. I’m eyeballing the rotation you sent too me, I started a total body routine this past Sunday, going to use your format but tweak a bit. If only I could get my mindset right. It’s so hard for me to workout without Cathe or someone to guide mex( I’m such a baby. I admire you, you just go and get it done, flatout! Nice job :)

Lora - I hope you see this. I keep forgetting to tell you that I really like the songs by Pool. "Soldiers" is a really good one.

Char - I like the songs you told me about too. I just love new music!

Teddygirl - Thanks! It's fun working out solo. I love it!

Here are some good ones I've got:

Please Tell Me Why - Blink 182 (this song cracks me up)
Note To Self - From First to Last (not sure that's who sings it, that may be the CD name)
Life is Beautiful - Sixx AM
Apologize - One Republic
Stop & Stare - One Republic
Beverly Hills - Weezer
Sorry - Buck Cherry

Hello Ladies!

I am really behind for the entire week! I did the leg routine Monday and a boot camp class yesterday, but was not able to get up early enough to work out this morning. I am going to get the workout in when i get home. I I am going to try to do the leg workout and then get upper body in tomorrow.

I have a busy week so far at work and am putting in long days.

Debbie / Linda - that incline curl looks interesting. I would like to see a picture to make sure I understand it correctly.

Take care eveyone.
