Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Tues April 10

Good Morning!

My butt is nice and sore from yesterdays workout. I think today will just be straight cardio...maybe Imax extreme}( Waiting for DS to wake up, its almost 10 here and he is still asleep!

WD, hope puddles gets home today! I can only imagine how much you just have missed him!

Susan!!!! Did you miss me? Well, I am back in action girlfriend:) I was surprised at how fast my endurance came back! Only 3 lbs of baby weight left to go but I think my shape is alittle different. Im not as muscular as I was before so I think I will be able to get a little lower on the scale until I rebuild my muscle.

Well, I was planning on doing all of Gym Style Legs but had a mishap with my stability ball. LOL! When I do squats I place my bar across the arms of my Power Tower. The arms aren't far enough apart to prevent the bar from flipping up if it's uneven. You can guess where I'm going with this. I had two 25# plates on each side of the bar. I took one of the 25# plates off one side to put two 10# plates on it for my third set. I had both 10# plates on the one side so I thought it was light enough to stay on the arms without moving the bar over to compensate for the weights. WRONG! I took the other 25# plate off the other side and watch helplessly as the bar flipped up, slid down, hit my stability ball which was on my treadmill (thank God) and watch my stability ball blow up! LMAO!!! It was like it was all in slow motion. I am so thankful it hit the stability ball because if I didn't have it sitting on my treadmill I hate to think what could have happened. Oy!

Anyways, I did a combination of GS Legs and B&G. I sure am loving B&G now. Love the exercises now that I know them. This is what I did:

GS Legs:
Squats: 65# - 2 sets/16 reps; 55# - 1 set/16 reps plus bonus burner low ends
Front Lunges - 12's - 2 sets/8 reps last set w/low ends
Reverse Lunges - 12's - tons of reps
Plie Squats - 35# - 2 sets/16 reps/pulses
Leg Press w/Purple Band - 2 sets/15 reps each leg
Elevated Deadlifts - 12's 2 sets/lots of reps
Slow Motion lunges - 12's - 4 sets of slow brutal burner torture

B&G:
Walking Lunges/Plies - 10's
One Legged Squats - 4 risers; 10# (I hate these but they burn like crazy. They gotta work!)
Walking Lunges/Plies - 10's
Lunge/Squat Series (no weights)
Firewalkers w/Purple Band (these are my FAVORITE!!!)

Workout clocked in at an hour. Legs had massive lactic acid build up in them. Did the stretch from B&G

Deb, i am just trying to imagine.. ROMAFO...Rolling on the floor...
The worst i have done was fall off the ball and stumbled over the step...I have 3 balls . Backups...
Going to the gym today with my sis. She is in from Va.I could not handle 3 kids..Gotta give her credit...

Tonite is cardio only... Gonna try the cc#1. and figure it out.

Deb, i am being good. Brocoli and brown rice for breakfast..I am tracking... Pain in the butt..
I was starving last night and ate a can of green beans. YUMMY!!!I am going to drop this last 20# before i go to the beach..
Cooking is really hard without a frige right now...
I am living on steamers and salad.

Morning Maniacs! I did get to go on my Mt. Bike ride yesterday. Went for 2 hrs. on some tortuous hills. I wore my clip in shoes and didn't have any accidents (knock on wood). Burned 700 cals. on that ride. Got home around 7:00. My legs are toast! I must say, Carma is doing so well with her fluorescent hunting dog boots. They withstood the small rivers we rode through and still stayed on her feet. Her feet are not sore at all. Best thing I've bought for her.


Debbie- Glad the "Stability Ball incident" did'nt wipe out the treadmill! I always worry about the tipping-of-the-barbell when I change plates. I guess you've proved it can happen. LOL! Those "one legged squats" you did with the risers are similar to the "Bulgarian split squats" I've been doing. Except, I'm putting my back leg on the bench! It's sooooo hard with the back leg up that high!

Diane Sue- I'm hoping Puddle is good to go home this morning. Keep us posted.

Meg- Glad you are still sore. I know you love that!

Lori- Have fun doing Imax Extreme! And I can't believe you have a child still asleep at 10:00 am! Unheard of! LOL!

Anne- Living on steamers and salads, might be a good thing. See, there are positive to everything. :) I hate tracking food too. I'm fighting it. I might need to though, cuz I'm not losing a thing. Course, the junk I've been eating couldn't have anything to do with that. LOL!

This morning I did BodyMax 2 - Scrambled Eggs Premix. I'll do weights at lunch today.

Debbie - Too funny about your barbell/ball incident...that had to be a sight to see.

Anne - Yep, most days I work out twice/day. Once when I wake up and then at lunch. Are you getting enough protein?

Lori - You stayed pretty active during your pregnancy...now it's paying off.

Dallys - Awesome bike ride!! 700 calories...woo-hoo!!

Meg - Nothing like a good case of DOMS!!

I ended up doing CIA - Amazing Hot Stepping with Nekea Brown - interval step. My intervals weren't very "intervally" as I'm still not myself with energy wise lately. Don't know if I'm fighting a stomach bug or what, but I've not been myself the last few days. I also did some cardio late yesterday afternoon. After the step workout 67", I did Lotte Berk High Round Assets 30" and Intermediate Yoga with Stephanie 60". At the end of the cardio, I burned 400 calories. I enjoyed this yoga DVD much more than the last time I did it. Funny how that happens with workouts from time to time.

The new Tracey's shipped out over the past couple days. I hope mine get here today.

Has anyone heard of the Squeeze workout? It's like a fusion workout of pilates, ballet, Lotte Berk, and more (according to the website) - http://www.squeezebytracy.com. I ordered it yesterday with my Ebay earnings from the weekend. Since I've been doing Fluidity and Lotte, etc lately, I figured I'd try it.

Dallys - sounds like a great bike ride. 700 calories -- wow....now you can eat some cookies today!! LOL!

Deb - Whoa.....you could have gotten hurt. I'm glad you're okay.

Diane Sue - please let us know as soon as you find out about the puppy. I hope it's nothing serious. Poor baby. It's tough when our little ones have problems. They are so precious and helpless. Makes you even love them more and get more attached! My heart goes ot to you.

Meg - What have you been listening to lately? GH needs to liven up a bit, huh??

Dallys, I think he is getting on a schedule and thats why he slept so late. Normally he doesn't go to bed until 11 ish but he was ready last night at 7:30....that was until my inlaws showed up, woke him and it went downhill from there! He went back to sleep at 9:30 and woke at 2 and 6 to bed fed. Kinda looking forward to him going to bed earlier so I can do somethings that need to be done

Maritta, I actually didn't stay active during my pregnancy. I was afraid I would miscarry so I resorted to walking.....then my back got bad when I walked so I couldn't do that! I ended up gaining 46 lbs:eek: If I get preggo again though I will keep working out. I say that now but we will see when I have 2 kids, a job, and being sleepy all the time! LOL

I just finished #2 on the HC extreme dvd. I didnt do all 10 of the KM intervals b/c DS was hungry. Im happy with what I did though

Good morning!

This morning I did steady state cardio on the bike (trainer) for an hour. It's freezing here! WHEN OH WHEN is it going to warm up?

My doctor's office called this morning and I'm on the 3 year plan. Woo hoo!!!!! So next week is just a yearly check-up with no pap. She does make sure I have a mammogram every year though according to my sister, so that's good. I'll just take my blood work results and talk about life I guess. I see the neurologist enough these days and he keeps tabs on everything else. :) I'm just so excited.

Lori - YES, of COURSE I missed you! I was hoping you'd choose this check-in when you were ready. You've always been a maniac. I can't believe you only have 3 pounds left to lose. Wow!

Diane Sue - I'm holding my breath for news on Puddle.

Meg - Gotta love those sore muscles - especially THOSE sore muscles!

Storm - I don't know how you're eating without a fridge. That would be a challenge.

Dallys - AWESOME ride yesterday. And congrats on the clipless pedals! You give me hope. It's gotta be safer than having your feet flying off the pedals. I'm glad Carma has Happy Feet. :p

Marietta - That Scrambled Eggs premix always makes me want scrambled eggs! Darn!

Lora - I just noticed something - you said you haven't been feeling yourself lately and you might be coming down with something. You know what? You haven't said that in a long time. And you used to say that a lot when you were working. I think the stress of your hospital job was really affecting your health. I hope that your next job is a lot less stressful because I think there is a HUGE correlation with you and stress and your health (as with a lot of people, but especially with you).

Anne- Chief hood?? I am only a LT, but hey you never know, I might just follow in my dad's footsteps and become chief someday! Speaking of the hangover, I was like that the other day! No more thank you!

Marietta- I think that is so cool you WO twice a day. I wish I had time for that, but I won't complain as long as I get to do it atleast once.

Suz- glad you got the 3 year plan. What a relief.

Lori- I gained 65 pounds with my son, and I was already 25lbs overweight! You are doing a great job!

Anne - I hope I'm sore tomorrow. I think I will be, my legs are still tired right now. Glad to hear your eating is improving. It is hard and a pain in the ass. What happened to your fridge?

Dallys - Great ride yesterday and great calorie burn! Dang girl!! Is it warm where you are? I hate one-legged squats, they hurt like hell when you do them and Cathe just goes on and on.... OY!

Marietta - Great workout! I want to try that premix soon.

Lora - Great workout! Hope you feel better soon, take lots of Vitamin C if you can. And I agree, GH is so BORING lately! I could care less if I watch it or not lately.

Suz - I'm with you, when will it freakin' get warm? I'm so sick of this cold weather. I hate wearing my winter coat. I want to burn it.

Those 1 legged squats are a burner. I always shake doing them ..

Hey Maniacs! Taking a short break here from work.:)

Suz- Yeah, the clippless aren't as scary as I thought. But, I did get the pedals with the platform on one one side and clip on the other. Towards the end of the ride, my legs were really getting fatigued, so I used the platform side on most of the steep stuff. Just didn't feel I had the energy to flip my feet out. The really steep long hills are the worst, because you know you will have to bail at some point before the top. That's when you pray your feet come out. It's also hard to start back up the hill with the clips, because sometimes you need like 5 tries! I did more hiking than usual, because of them. I'm hoping to get to where I don't even think about it.

Deb- The weather keeps going back and forth here. It's warm one day and rainy and windy the next. It's a jacket or T-shirt every other day. LOL! Today is 49 degrees and yesterday was in the 60's.

Lora- Yeah, 700 cals. Can you imagine if I did this everyday? Oy! I could eat lots of cookies.

Meg- Yes! Legs are like noodles.:)

Gotta get back to work...2 Cockers down and only 2 schnauzers to go. Oy!

AMAZINGLY all 3 kids here are sleeping, so I took full advantage of the peace and quiet and did the WHOLE ENTIRE Rainbeau Mars Yoga for Beauty Dawn WO. It was wonderful. Plus my triceps are really sore from yesterday?? LOL! If I am home later, I will do some more UB, or maybe a little TM. But I am so happy I got to yoga, with NOT ONE interruption. I feel so good! Off to shower while I still have a chance.

The vet called and told me that Puddle's tests for lyme disease came back negative. He is waiting on another test to come back around 1 this afternoon. He says her being so young that it is unusual for it to be arthritis. He is going to talk to another veterinarian that specializes more in infectious diseases. He needs to know what type of arthritis if that is it as that would make a difference on the antibiotic he gives her. He says he will also probably put her on a steroid. My workout was Tracey Staehle's kickbox challenge w/up and cardio, Amy Kickbox Ex good nrg premix cardio and I added the bag work without the bag, then M&F back and biceps, when I was finishing up Sculpt Sweatfest by Tracey arrived, I did the Belly burner premix, then went to the balance premix which included the stretch(this used the BOSU a lot)
Back and Biceps were as follows
Back- Bowflex straight arm pulldown 90# 10 reps 3 sets
Bowflex wide grip pulldowns 160# 10 reps 3 sets
dumbbell rows 35# 8 reps 2 sets, 25# 10 reps 1 set
Bowflex seated cable rows 80# each hand 10 reps 2 sets
Biceps- concentration curls 20# 10 reps 1 set, 25# 8 reps 2 sets
Bowflex cable curls 40# ea hand 10 reps 2 sets
barbell curl 45# 8 reps 1 set, 50# 8 reps 1 set
forearms- dumbbell reverse wrist curls 8# 10 reps 3 sets
