Cathlete
Morning Manaics-

This morning I'm doing a Cardio Coach and maybe some Tracey Kickbox or Kimberly's CIA Kickbox (again....love that one). I will probbly do some yoga also.

I'm bummed cuz it's the middle of April and it's so cold here still. Also, Vegas is having a bit of a cold snap. I think I'm going to have to pack long sleeves .....only highs in the 60's there. That's freezing out there! LOL.

I'll be back in a bit.

This morning was legs and I wasn't looking forward to it. I decided to do Pyramid Lower Body. Had a good workout but probably should have gone heavier with some of the weights/exercises. Still got a great burn and that floor work about killed me. I don't remember it being so hard. It's been a long time since I've done this floorwork routine and I could certainly tell.

For the Leg Presses and Lunges I used dumbbells. I used 12's/15's/20's/15's/12's
For Squats/Plies I used the barbell: 55#/65#/75#/65#/55#
I actually did all the deadlifts today, did them elevated but used pansy weights (dumbbells): 10's/12's/15's/12's/10's
Calf Raises
Floorwork

I used my new stability ball. They are so small when you first get them, aren't they? Then as you use them and they stretch out the get bigger and bigger. LMAO! Had trouble balancing because the ball seemed so small to me.

Hope you all have a great workout! Glad mine is over! LOL!

Good Morning, today is supposed to be back and biceps, also I will do cardio, I am not sure if I want to do kickbox or step yet. I have a dentist check and grocery shopping this afternoon. The vet called and said that Puddle's joint tap came back fine. They said she has hypertrophic osteodystrophic arthritis. She will probably grow out of. Yesterday I did 4.5 mile treadmill run, then the M&F chest, triceps and abs rotation, I finished off with Amy's Sculpt sweatfest belly burner and stretch.

M&F workout: I felt weak for some reason I hate when that happens
Chest-bench press 65# 5 reps 3 sets
incline dumbbell press 30# 5 reps 1 set, 32.5# 2 sets 5 reps
decline press 32.5# 5 reps 2 sets
incline dumbbell flyes 25# 5 reps 2 sets
Triceps- Close grip bench press 50# 5 reps 1 set
triceps dip 65# 5 reps 1 set, 75# 8 reps 1 set
Bowfles triceps press down 80# 6 reps 1 set, 90# 6 reps 1 set
Abs- reverse crunch 15# med ball 15 reps 3 sets
Bowflex crunch 100# 20 reps 3 sets
Added kneeling barbell rollouts 75# 15 reps 2 sets

Charlotte, it is good to have you back:)

I ended up doing Cardio Coach #3 on the TM with a couple of the intervals on the bike/elliptical for variety and then did Tracey's new Kickbox Sweatfest starting at combo 3 or so. I listened to my own music with Tracy and it made it much better! I'm spoiled from the CIA's recent music! I did a total of 1 hour and 20 minutes of cardio and burned 519 calories. I then did Power Squeeze ab/legs/butt segments followed by 50" of The Karma Yoga Project - Flow Practice. The yoga ended up being all standing and balancing poses and my legs were toast by that point - I didn't know it didn't have any floor poses when I chose it. I'm trying to work out really hard since I'm going to be going to Vegas Saturday......think I may have overdone it slightly today.

Toasty -I ended up buying a couple Panacea blends from BPAL last night. Had a sample of Grr (for headaches) and Ugh (for muscle pain) and tried them yesterday, as I had a horrid headache and ended up ordering them with another bottle of Poisson D'Avril, MB Blood Mary and Minotaur (I think you might like Minotaur - it's resiny and lovely, slightly sweet...similiar to Schwarzer Mond which is a fave of mine).

Diane Sue - What Villainess soaps did you end up getting? I am addicting to Scintillating (vanilla mint). I actually only ever buy the foody/gourmand ones. I'm like that with all my bath products since I wear BPAL. That's some diagnosis on Puddle! I'm glad your vet thinks he/she will owtgrow it! That's great. Does Cathe have a total body workout that is really good (in your opinion) done in 45 minutes? or a great total body/cardio workout that is about 75"? I need a really good one to do on Friday since I'm leaving for Vegas Saturday. Thanks.

Hi to everyone else. If anyone else wants to recommend a Cathe workout (see end of note to Diane Sue) - please feel free to! I'm trying to decide how to get the best total body workout with some cardio in 75", or a total body in 45" and then I can add on some cardio. I want to do it Friday since I'm leaving for Vegas Saturday morning. THanks.

Have great workouts everyone.

Good Morning Ladies
I just did Imax 3 2nd half premix, B&G stability ball abs, GS biceps, MM biceps, BM2 biceps. Got a great workout today:)
Off to work
Have a great day everyone

Good morning!

This morning I did CC#4 on the bike (trainer). This weekend my friend Chris and I are HOPING the weather will be nice enough to ride both days. And I'm HOPING that my legs won't be too fried to keep up with her. I've noticed they've been getting pretty tired from 6 days of cardio. I might have to start taking it a little easier on my steady state cardio days. I think I'm spinning too hard. :(

What premixes on B&G are about an hour long? I want to do one tonight but I really don't want to work out for an hour and a half.

Super swamped at work. I procrastinated on a project that will now haunt me until late JUNE!!! I paid for that one. Serves me right. :p

Diane Sue - That's great news about Puddle! I'm glad it's not something life-threatening and that she'll grow out of it. Whew!

I hope you all have a great day and great workouts.

Suz

Suz- Here is a post I saved awhile back. Can't remember who posted it, but it's a list of ways to do the new series in 1 hr. and under.

Here it is:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think this new series is as close to perfection as circuit workouts from an at home instructor could be. I LOVE the long length, bonus footage, premix options, even the loud music on LIC, but for those who do not like the long length here are some ways to shorten the workouts close to one hour or under without even going into premix land:
B&G:
WU, Standing only, Core, Stretch - 59 mim.
WU, Floor Work only, Core, Stretch - 48.5 min.
WU, Standing only, Floor Work only, Stretch - 65 min.
WU, Floor Work only, Bonus Lower Body, Bonus Stability Ball abs, stretch - 55 min.
WU, Standing Work only, Bonus Stability Ball abs, Stretch - 60 min.
WU, Standing only, Stretch - 45 min.
WU, Floor work only, Stretch - 34.5 min.
BM2:
WU & Step combos only, stretch - 40 min.(add in bonus cardio for 46 min. workout)
WU & Power Circuits only, stretch - 43 min.(add in bonus cardio for 49 min. workout)
WU, Step combos only, abs, stretch - 49 min.
WU, Power Circuits only, abs, stretch - 52 min.
WU, Step combos, upper body, stretch - 60 min.
WU, Power Circuits, upper body, stretch - 63 min.
WU, upper body, abs, stretch - 45 min. (add in bonus cardio after WU for a 51 min. workout)
LIC:
Do workout as is leaving abs for another day:
63 min.
CF:
WU, BM2 finished combos through LIC bonus combo, stretch - 34 min.
WU, BM2 finished combos through BM2 Power Circuits, stretch - 50 min.
WU, through LIC bonus combo, skip BM2 Power Circuits and go to Six Drill Max Drills - 56 min.
WU, BM2 Finished Combos, skip LIC Bonus combo, BM2 Power circuits thorugh stretch - 61 min.
DM is the only one that you can't shorten easily without using the premix options. I'm betting I didn't even hit all the options, and remember this is w/out going into premix options. This is one of the things I LUV about Cathe...versatility and usability options galore!
Gotta go workout. I'm planning on doing Cathe workouts for the rest of the month and then start a new rotation of some kind.
Be back later to catch up.
I finished my workout and have to leave in a few minutes. I did AMy Kickbox Extreme (this time I remembered to forward to the bag part and then went back to core and stretch) then M&F week 5 back, biceps, and forearms, I ended with Amy's stretch #1 off her abs and stretch dvd.
back- barbell rows 75# 5 reps 3 sets
bowflex wide grip pulldowns 160# 5 reps 3 sets
bowflex seated cable row 90# each hand 5 reps 2 sets
bowflex straight arem pull down 90# 6 reps 2 sets
Biceps- barbell curl 50# 5 reps 3 sets
preacher curl on ball 40# 5 reps 1 set, 45# 5 reps 1 set
concentration curl 25# 6 reps 2 sets
forearms- barbell wrist curls 35# 6 reps 3 sets
Lora, I the soaps I ordered are byzntium, shanghaied, bathory, villainess, and samples are decadence and silk and cyanide. I have to think if Cathe has total body workouts that are 45 minutes. It seems most are closer to an hour. I will have to look at my folder and workout times. Maybe I can think of one while I am at the dentist:) I think MM has a timesaver that is good but I am not sure about the length. It may be around 50 minutes. I will check later.
Suz, I really like the Leg Blast premix of Butts and Guts. It is 47.5 minutes and really hits everyhting hard. Overall legs is 1 hr and 5 minutes. Yes I am relieved that Puddle's problem is not life threatening. I don't think we could take that again.
Hey Maniacs! I ended up doing Push/Pull premix Upper 3 sets. I love the Pushpull/Supersets DVD. I think it's underrated here in Cathe land. I plan on a Mt. Bike ride when DH gets home.
Diane Sue- So happy to hear that Puddles will be ok. What a relief that must be.
Lora- Push/Pull is 45 min.
Debbie- What size ball did you get? Mine is a 65cm. The 55cm seemed small to me.
Randi- Great workout!
Diane Sue - out of the soaps you ordered, I like Silk & Cyanide and Decadence the best. No problem if you can't think of anything. I can always do P90 Masters and heavy up with lower reps and then do some cardio. Do you think High Step Challenge is a good enough total body workout with the cardio and all? Also - what's your 2nd favorite Raspberry Vinagarette salad dressing? I haven't been able to find that Light Wishbone one lately and I'm so mad cuz I love it!!
Lora, I like Hardcore Extreme Interval Circuit for a total body and weight workout. You get more cardio than on the regular high Step Challenge. Also Muscle Max Push and Pull premix is good and is 33 minutes with w/up and cooldown. It covers upper body and then you can add lower which is 14 minutes. I think my second favorite raspberry vinegrette is Newman's own. I know I keep purchasing something that has absolutely no flavor. Makes me mad. Also on your posts about quinoa. Our local nutrition center has it. I have purchased some quinoa pasta at our local grocer that has a whole area of gluten and wheat free as well as almond butter etc. and organic foods. I cook it in some low sodium chicken broth or boullion and add some garlic to it for flavor. Makes a great addition to your veggies:) I think endame is a good addition to veggies and salads. If I remember right the Asian chicken salad that Macdonalds has has endame in it. I also have bought a vip veggie mix with it in it from the frozen food section of the grocery store.
Thanks Diane Sue & Dallys for the suggestions. I have until Friday AM to decide!
Diane Sue - I tried to find Quinoa in the organic section of the larger store today and still couldn't find it. Where should I look next? Should I look in the phone book for a Health Food store? I don't even know if we have them. Also, can you tell me what it tastes like? It looks similar to barley.....does it taste similar? The fact that you season it with garlic gives me the impression is has no taste!!! Do you like Edamane?? thanks much.........I called Wishbone about the salad dressing. They are sending me a mail order form and coupons in case i can get my store to get it back on the shelves too!!! They always stop carrying items I love!! I'm so happy about Puddle! I have already grown so attached to Brookie that I would die if I lost her now!! I'm going to miss her lots when we go to Vegas. She is really getting close to me since I'm not working right now.
Lora, it would be hard to tell you how quinoa tastes. It is much smaller than barley. I love barley. Mine is from Arrowhead Mills. Maybe you could just find some place online to get it. It really does not have much taste. I don't think rice has much taste either. I was just telling you a way I like to cook it. It only takes about 10-15 minutes to cook. There is 6 grams of protein in a serving. Also Kashi 7 whole grain pilaf has 6 grams of protein. It is really good and has barley and buckwheat, brown rice and whole sesame seeds. I just like to cook it and eat it as is It is really easy to get attached to our pets quickly. You get a feel for their likes and dislikes and they just kind of meld into the household routine.
