Morning Maniacs-

Overslept a bit........and the Lunar Update is live on BPAL....so I had to order Long Night Moon........off to do my new StepBoxing with Kelly....be back later.
 
I ended up doing Kelly's new Step Boxing. This was both frustrating and fun. I forgot how Kelly is to learn from....not the best. She's sort of a spaz and doesn't cue real well, so it was sort of frustrating and this definitely has a learning curve.........but boy oh boy was it fun!! I loved the combos....once I caught on to them. I had an excellent workout even though I was learning it....my face was BEET red at the end and I was soaked.......workout was 63" and I burned 598 calories. I skipped a bit at the end.....as I think the workout is 85". She does a real unique ab/punching segment kneeling on a small half foam roller at the end -- and I only did part of this. I will use hand weights with this segment if I do it in the future.

Kelly sure is one mean and lean instructor. If I could have anyone's legs....it would be hers. They are lean and muscular....very defined......actually her whole body is very defined. She has like zero fat on her, and she doesn't appear to be a youngster! Looking forward to learning this routine and doing her new Cardio Sculpt also. The music was decent on the kickboxing...especially the last segment...was very hip hopish. I love Kelly.....and she reminds me of my old dance instructor.

Things are really bad around here. Why is it that my DH is not there for me when I need him? He's not supportive at all. I think he's upset that I got a part-time job instead of full time and not the best paying job either. I think he's nervous about me working weekends and evenings...........but how the heck does he think I feel? This is all new and scary to me. I've been a secretary since 1980! A little emotional support would be nice....especially with my low self esteem. I told this lady at Walgreen's that I'd do a good job in cosmetics and I'd be good at it........and now I'm nervous and doubting myself. I guess I'll have to count on you ladies for support.............I'm babbling.

Have great workouts. I have to go get my drug test and find a pair of black pants for work since mine are too small...........:eek:

ETA: Oh....and I only tripped and fell over my feet/step 3 times during Kelly's fancy footwork! LOL! I even twisted my low back/sciatica the last time....YIKES..... I best be carefue with my two left feet!! My bad foot was a little swollen from jumping on it for the first time.
 
I decided to make today my rest day instead of tomorrow. I'm still sore in my upper body and wanted to take one more day of rest before I hit back and bi's. I'm off tomorrow so that is what I'll do. Felt great to sleep in a bit!

I finished all my workout. Still planning on going back for some yoga/stretching. I started with 4 day split Cardio Power Premix no str 49 min,then I repeated the Kickbox segment, I then did the 4 day split lower body premix the only w/up on this is the w/up set of squats and it includes the calves. I liked it this way. So I got in a full hour of cardio(not counting the w/up) and the lower was 31min.
So now I have done all of the 4 day split segments:D I liked the way Cathe incorporates the core in the KB c/d.
I wasn't so sure I got a good lower body workout though. I need to up the weights more next time. Tomorrow I will do my new Kelly Coffey Cardio Kickbox step and core work. Maybe try the upper body bootcamp circuit on Saturday with some treadmill.

Seated outer thigh with band purple dynaband (had a hard time feeling much with this)1 set
barbell squats 75# various speeds throughout not sure how many reps 1 set
calves I did same as yesterday hoding a 20# through out and picked up the other 20# for the final set

Lora, I looked at Kelly's dvd and think it looks like it will be fun. I did the core work yesterday from it and agree next time I will pick up some dumbbells.

Morning Maniacs! Today will be Kickbox and whatever weight segment comes with that one...Legs, I think.

Lora-Great news on the job! It's unbelievable your dh is unhappy. Think how many jobs you've applied for and all the interviews etc. It doesn't make sense, unless like others have said, he secretly wants you home. Hopefully, he will adjust. When do you start? I hope it all works out for you. Also, great news on the foot!

Lora, I previewed and wrote down the times on Kellys new Kickbox step and I know the box says over 80 minutes but I think that is because it has a tutorial added. The actual workout is 69 minutes.
4:46 wup, 53min cardio, 8 min core, and 4.5 min str.. Glad to hear your foot is so much better.

I finished my yoga using Yoga Shatki Matrix. Did 33 minutes. I made a recipe for Greek Balls of Fire(turkey meatballs) from Abs Diet 6 min meals. I did not make the Barilla plus spaghetti though. I put them on top of zuchinni. I also mixed up my own no salt tomato sauce with garlic and oregano in place of the sauce. Used an egg white instead of the whole egg. It was yummy this way. Took me longer than 6 minutes LOL
From memory yesterdays meals
1 Coffee, light soymilk, 1/2 scoop protein powder, splenda,amaretto flavor drops & ice smoothie
2 Baked apple with cinnamon and splenda, 1/2 scoop protein powder mixed inot fat free sour cream
3 Salad with mixed greens, spinach and carrot mix, 3 oz chicken, onion, salsa mixed with fat free ranch dressing
4 soy milk protein smoothie again this time I added sugar free caramel syrup
5 4 oz ground turkey pattie mixed with green onions and a spinach salad with strawberries, almonds, onion, and Fat Free Raspberry vinegrette

Diane Sue - When I made up my rotation for the next 4 weeks I decided to try front squats again. They are really hard for me to do, I always end up with bruises on my shoulders. But I will go lighter and see how I do. Nice going with the leg workout.

Penney - Have fun with your cardio!!! Your workout and eats yesterday were excellent! Great going with that!

Deb - your eating schedule's look like those outlined in Oxygen!! Don't know how you do it!! I quit listing my garbage....cuz you ladies all put me to shame. We're actually talking about Kelly Coffey but I love Keli Roberts too.....is that who you were referring to above?

RE: the reasons my DH is probably upset........I know he doesn't want me to stay home, cuz he made me go for that interview at Giant Eagle (grocery store) today to see if I could get a job there also. I'm not sure if they will hire me and work around my Walgreen schedule. My new title is "Beauty Advisor".........I find it amusing!! Hope to God I can get used to evenings and such.....as I'm such a creature of habit and I've been working a 9-5 job since 1980.

Suz - are you around today? I'm concerned cuz Walgreen's is doing a Background check on me. I figured I'd ask you cuz isn't your DH a cop? I have a felony record from 1986..........do you have any idea how far back they go on a background check? I'm worried! Not that I'm anything like that today....but my past is my past and it belongs to me!!
 
Hey Everyone!

I'm here. I still have that stinkin' sore throat. I had a big meeting this morning so I couldn't stay home and rest. If I didn't have to swollow I'd feel fine. The meeting was at another location and loooooong. When I got back to work DH called and told me I should go to the doc b/c we were around our friends a couple weeks ago in a vehicle for 2 hours and he had strep. So I went. She said there is a lot of strep going around here and she was positive by the looks of it that I had it but asked if it was ok if she did a culture to be sure. She said she hoped so b/c then I could go on antibiotics (which I haven't taken in forever) and would feel better by tomorrow. She came back in and said nope. She was shocked. She said she even had to go in and read it herself b/c she didn't believe it (at least that validated my pain level :p). So I just have to suffer. And suffer I am. Hehehe. Just kidding. Sort of. She told me to rest and hopefully my strong immune system would keep it to just a sore throat and it would go away at that.

Lora - We met with an airline the other day b/c we are looking at starting up a commercial pilot program at our college and the major airlines only look at felonies for the past 10 years. Once they are 10 years old, they will hire you. So if the major airlines will do it with all of the security these days, I would imagine Walgreen's would. :)

Wow my legs are sore from yesterday's leg workout! Especially in the hams and glutes. yeah! :D
 
Dallys - I wonder if they'll catch these arsonists. I hear the odds are low. Well, they have the one. Fires freak me out. When I was 10 we were staying in a big house in the mountains in LA on vacation and the house caught on fire and this dog who was staying with us (and his owner who was a couple of years older than us - his parents owned the motel across the street - we were up there all the time growing up) started barking at 4am. My mom kept telling her to stop. Finally my mom got up and the whole front portch and kitchen was on fire. We were upstairs sleeping in the loft. She got us all up and we ran downstairs, past the huge flames in the kitchen, out through the garage and out the door. Our car was out front in this circular driveway - not even up against the house - and the whole inside burned. The house burned so fast. The firemen said we were so lucky to get out because of how fast it went(do they always say that?). The dog was so disoriented she ran back inside and didn't make it out. :( She saved our lives. Fern. I was so freaked out. I was barfing (TMI???). So there's my mom, single mom (we didn't know my dad back then), up in the mountains with two kids and no car. Luckily she worked for State Farm Insurance. Her boss came to get us.

Tomorrow legs with weights. Debbie, gonna do those bulgarian split squats...yowza!!!!! Gonna try with 80# 3 sets/12;( :p :+ }( :eek: ;)

Thanks, ya'll. I swear I got to try harder to increase my tricep strength and bring them out more. Gonna be focusing on that, but everytime I do, it is just so friggin' hard. Good news though...I am not working as much next week or week after so I will have more time at home to focus harder on those tri's...YEAHH!!!!!! I will be stronger since I am not gonna be drained from work.
