Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Thurs Feb 1

Morning Maniacs -

This morning I overslept a bit by accident and the DH was out of the basement so I did Cardio Coach #2 on the treadmill only (first time all treadmill), skipped the cool down and came upstairs and did Kelly Coffey's Step Kickboxing in it's entirety. Cardio was 1.5 hours long and I burned 605 calories. Kelly's pretty tough to begin with and it seemed even harder after the Cardio Coach workout. My legs are yet again toasty. I finished with 65" of Adrieene Reed's Ultimate Flexibility Power Yoga.

Have great workouts everyone. I'm off to get my shower and then I have to go to the grocery store and maybe the dentist.

I called the hospital yesterday to see if they started interviewing for that job I put in for and they did not start yet, so I'm still in the running for that job.

Someone from Videofitness that is a Recruiter offered to try to help me find a job...so I faxed my resume to her yesterday and I spoke with her on the phone. She said I could sue those Lawyers for "wrongful termination". If my unemployment gets turned down....I might consider it!

Amber - Yes, I wish I had more time to workout when I'm working! As you can see, I'm taking advantage of the fact that I'm not working right now! Hopefully I'll be back to work soon. I've been too depressed to do anything around the house.....so that's why I've been concentrating on my Yoga and exercise.
 
No workout for me today. Was up all night due to dh snoring. He mangled his finger last night in a fan and could not sleep on his side for some reason. When he sleeps on his back her snores like a freakin' freight train. Went downstairs to try and get some sleep on the couch but that didn't work out too well since that couch is so small and uncomfortable. Feel like crap this morning.

I'm off tomorrow so I'll get a good workout in then.

Deb- I am SO there with the snoring. Hope your DH's finger is alright. Sorry you didn't sleep. I had an awful time getting to sleep last night. Too much on my mind.

Lora- good luck with those potential jobs. Something will work out definately. You are doing so well on those WO's. So the TM is working out so far?

Oh, my stomach is NOT happy today. I am so crampy. I must have to much stress going on and it is running me down. Must move thru it I guess. I had an awesome WO last night. It was so fun. Today is a circiut. I haven't decided which one yet. Let ya'll know!

Charlotte - Help me decide if I should get this. It's not one of my favorite tee's but it is red....so it will add a bit of variety to my collection. The picture is okay.....but I'm not in love with Crow's....although it's different. I do have some money put away for my BPAL (well, not really after yesterday)...so even though I'm not working, I'll probably could get this one. What do you think of it?

I'm off to do yoga. I have the heater on in the basement hoping to make it a little warmer (it's heated but always colder).

Lora - good luck with that hospital job. Something will come up.

Debbie - I'm sorry you didn't sleep. That would be a bummer to have a snoring hubby! Our friends we go to Mexico with - he snores LOUD - we can hear him and those rooms have like cement walls! They left for Mexico yesterday, by the way. :(

Meg - I'm sorry you're not feeling well. I hope you feel better soon.

Hopefully today I can start to get that driver's ed program back in the works. If I lose my good ones I worry that my program overall will really start to look completely worthless to my boss (he hates it anyway) and he will not see a need for it at all. That's my fear. I think it would be a fight with some of our board members and the community to get rid of it, but it doesn't sustain itself as it is, so this is a big hit. Wish me luck!

Okay, done stressing until AFTER yoga! :) Have GREAT workouts everyone.

MOrning Maniacs! Today is Circuit day. I'll do that later today.
Every morning I watch Kiana's Flex Appeal Show. Today she had Monica Brant on. Monica said she stops lifting weights 6 weeks before a competition! 6 weeks of no weights! She says she concentrates on just cardio 6 weeks in. Says her body is worn out and needs to rest and recooperate. I thought that was interesting. It tells me you can't lose muscle that fast. So we shouldn't worry if we take a week off here and there.

Lora- I like the T-Shirt, it's cute! You should get it. Crows are cool birds, aren't they? lol.

Debbie- Sorry you didn't get much sleep. If my DH isn't snoring, my dog is. I hate it. I can't ignore it and can't fall asleep. I'm good with the elbow jab!}( The finger in the fan doesn't sound good. Ouch!

Meg- Sorry you aren't feeling well. What circuit are you doing today? I can't remember what rotation you are doing.

Suz- Nice to hear you did ok with the clippless pedals. I'm alittle nervous using them on my mountain bike too. It can't be that hard (can it?), because everyone I see up in the mountains are using them. So, you have them on your Mt. Bike now too, but haven't tried it yet? Hope your work woes will workout. Sounds like a great program you have.

Just butting in here now to endorse the clipless pedals. Yep, Suz is right, they are the way to go for sure. Make sure they are set pretty loose so you can unclip easily. What kind are they? My mtn. bike has the kind with a plain old flat platform on one side and clipless on the other side. I use the platforms when going thru rocks or areas with drop offs. Also when just hopping on in plain shoes to go down the street for something. When pedaling, think circles, like scraping mud off the bottom of your feet when at the bottom of the circle. Whenever I focus on good circles, I go faster. They say everyone falls at some point or another when learning, but knock on wood, I haven't yet. Probably jinxed myself just now. I'm looking for good bike shorts with a very, very thin pad. I really don't like much at all as it gets up into my parts, if you know what I mean. Any suggestions? Suz, you too?

Got to go, back to your regularly scheduled program!

Good Morning
I did Double upper body on BM2 today. It was hard doing all those push ups off the ball}( And I didnt do the abs because the front of my neck hurts because I fell on some ice and landed backwords hitting my head so hard on the cement, 2 days ago. So my front of my neck hurts probably from trying not to land so hard on my head and by doing abs it hurts to lift my head up to do crunches.

Jeanette! Miss you over here! I have SPD pedals and I'm waiting on some sidi dominator shoe$. I hope I don't regret not going with your setup. DH says these SPD pedals were the easiest to get in and out of for him. Hey, if it's to hard on some of the trails, I might have to get pedals with a platform like you have. We'll see. I'm not sure my sidi shoes will work with the pedals you have. I'll have to ask the DH. Do you wear your road shoes on the Mt. Bike? I just bought three different shorts on Ebay, haven't used them yet. I have Voler, Castelli and Pearl Izumi. The Volers have the thinnest pad of the 3 and a great fit. Not sure how thin you need.

I have SIDI Dominator Mtn. Bike shoes. They are my 2nd pair of shoes and fit like a glove. Love them, love them, love them! I wear them on my road bike and my mtn. bike. They fit both of my pedal set ups. My platform/clip pedals have SPD on the clip side. My road pedals are SPD also.

I had some Voler short (like 3 pairs of them) and loved them because the pad for thin. I went to order more and they changed the style and I ordered too small a pair and was disgusted looking at myself and sent them back. Maybe I'll check them out again and order a more realistic size. I have a couple pairs of Pearl Izumi's but don't wear them any more as they feel like a diaper, too much pad. I barely need any pad at all even for the long rides. The Team Estrogen site is really good and the gal (think her name is Susan) is awesome on the phone with suggestions for shorts. Think I need to call her again. Cycling season is almost here and most of my shorts have thin spots on them (kind of like a bathing suit that wears thin).

Jeanette, Oh that makes me happy that I can use pedals like yours if I need too! I hear the Microsensor PI shorts have a thinner pad than the Ultrasensors. I bought the Micros. I've also learned that the sizing on all of this biking stuff runs very small for women. My DH can buy is normal size, but I have to buy bigger in everything, even the shoes run on the small size. I've been enjoying the Team Estrogen Site the last week or so. YOu should call for some ideas on shorts. I'm so excited about biking season. It's just around the corner! Yeah! Do you have an exact name of your pedals so I can look them up?

I like that red and black crow shirt. Very cool. I would buy it, but not gonna. I am waiting for my Ecstasy shirt to still arrive. Now, that one is da bomb! Little ole' goblin with panties and holding a bra off to the side...ooohhh la la. he he.

Getting a late start. Had couple come to look at house so I had to make sure I had everything clean and in order. Dashed out the door with dogs and now I am back. Gonna do some yoga here after I eat lunch.

The mail is here now. I hope I got perfumes waiting for me.

ETA: I just got the perfumes. Bend Over smells smoky. Makes me want to crack my whip. lol. I am not sure I like Caliph's Beloved though. Smells old ladyish to me, but that is just my opinion.

Randi - OUCH! So you've joined the club of ice princesses (Dallys and me)? Sounds like you're lucky you didn't knock yourself out! You poor thing. I hope you're okay.

Jeannette and Dallys - my pedals on my mtn. bike are too tight and I can't clip out of them so I'm not sure what DH is doing to them. Needless to say I didn't mountain bike ONCE last year. :)

Jeannette - yup, you've probably jinxed yourself now. I've fallen twice on my road bike - well, 3 times if you count the time that I couldn't clip out, fell over, got back up, clipped in and fell over again. I was on gravel and my pedals were new. It was when I was a brand new cyclist. :p I was alone and it was really early in the morning so nobody was around to watch the show.

Dallys - I love Kiana. I didn't know her new show was FINALLY back on!

Good afternoon maniacs!

P90x'ers -I am still sore today from Tuesdays chest and back. Pylo felt great yesterday and on to shoulders and bi's today I believe. I can fit into my skinny banana republic's today. So I am a happy camper. Funny I weigh more but am smaller. I would not have believed it for a minute prior to p90x! I am going to post some pictures probably before we leave for vacation on the 10th.

Suz...sho is Kiana..couldn't find that.

Toasty...are you enjoying your new scents? I will have to break down and buy some. I really enjoy perfume...Allure is my favorite, so maybe you and Lora and get me some suggestions.

Randi - sorry to hear you fell. That seems to be happening to a lot of people these days with all of this snow/ice. Be careful!

Deb - sorry you couldn't sleep. My DH snores on his back ALL the time. If I'm trying to fall asleep I can't! I usually tap him and he rolls over. That sucks.

Amber - Where are you going on vacation. Lucky you. Guess I need a job before I'll have a vacation.....and it'll probably be a long wait! I haven't worn commerical perfume in about 12-13 years, so you'll have to give me categories you like or notes....like vanilla, fruity/floral, etc. I have an imp (sample - that's what BPAL calls them) of Snake Oil here that I set aside in case someone wanted it .....I can send it to you. It's one of their most popular blends....it's sort of like a sugared vanilla but it's smokier .....I like it but Toasty doesn't.

I wish I'd get some job leads.....I want to go back to work .....I don't want to be without a job. This sucks. All I want to do is work out! I did that 1.5 hours of cardio this morning and the 1 hour of yoga and here's me sitting here thinking "what workout should I do now?". I don't feel like doing anything else around here. I'm too deprssed and exercise makes me feel better.
 
Suz- I don't know if it's a new show or not, might be reruns by the look of some of the clothes. Kianas' look is just the right amount of muscle and slimness, don't you think? The show is on Altitude at 6:30 mountain time.

Randi- Sorry you fell! Suz and I are really good at that, so you are in good company.:) Hope you are alright.

Amber-Can't wait to see your progress pictures! Your befores already look pretty darn good!

Just finished yoga. Interruptions never cease, I tell ya. FIL yells that the phone is ringing..WHO CARES???? I don't! I get ready to go into balance postures and tell him that I don't care if Bush comes knocking at the door..I AM NOT HERE! The person that called was a telemarketer anyhow. My hubby calls right before I went into the meditation pose and was making humming noises to make fun. lol. Gosh! So what can I say? NAMASTE?

I heard the couple put a star by our house, on paper so does that mean anything? I dunno yet. lol. I sprinkled some Charisma perfume around the house before the came to give the house more charm. lol.

Toasty - sorry about all of the interruptions ......that sucks. I would say the star is a good thing......maybe the Charisma worked!

I can't decide if I should do Pyramid Total Body plus add on aerobics and yoga tomorrow or High Step Challenge and yoga. I want to do a pretty hard yoga workout tomorrow.......decisions...decisions.

My DH just got done filing our taxes online - he started at 2:00 and just finished.......this freakin' computer is so slow.
