Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Thurs Aug 9

Cathlete
Morning Maniacs-

I'm getting ready to go do my cardio and probably some yoga. I'll be back later.

I ended up doing Spinning - Energy Race Day. This was a ride that warmed you up and then kept your heartrate at 85-90% max for 25 minutes straight and then the cooldown started. Total cardio was 55" and I burned 380 calories. I also did Nancy Sutton's Yoga on the Lake 60".

This cardio was hard for me. I think I need to work on this type of cardio more than intervals, as intervals seem easier.

Have great workouts everyone.

This morning I did Cardio Coach #5 and had an excellent workout. My right knee is giving me some pain, not sure why. It hurt the entire workout but not bad enough that I had to stop. I really like this workout, it has 3 - 4 minute hill climbs that just about kill your legs. Then the last two challenges are sprints and I love those. My HR recovered quickly this morning. Kind of weird since I'm only doing cardio twice a week now.

Cardio stats:
1:00 hr.
50 min. in zone
350 calories burned

HRM worked perfect today. Must have been my cell phone. Glad I figured it out.

Hope you all have great workouts!

Lora - you didn't answer my question yesterday. Do you like Linkin Park? Just curious.

Deb - I remembered your question a little while ago, but the DH was on the computer. I like some of the stuff they play on the radio by Linkin Park, but I've never really heard a lot of their music. That being said -- sometimes I won't really like songs I hear on the radio, but I'll like the other stuff on the CD. This is the case with Nickelback for me. I've only liked a few songs on the radio...but the CD's are better. Same with Papa Roach - I tend to think some of the harder stuff on the CD is better than some of the "hit type" songs they play on the radio. I do like rock/rap and punk rock, as well as blues based rock........as long as it rocks, I like it. If you like rap/rock type music, you'd like Saliva's CD Every 6 Seconds too.

Where's Charlotte? Is she on vacation or something? Gone camping again?

Good morning. I am planning a LB today, and would like some more cardio too, but focusing on LB. My UB is sore from yesterday.

Deb- I really like Linkin Park too. I have liked them for a long time. Good job on the running! I remember when you said you couldn't and hated running!!

Lora- that sounds like a good WO! Good burner. I would like to do some yoga later. I don't have to work tonight, so maybe I can.

SUZ-- you so silly! I have TWO boys (that's plenty)!! The third child I talk about is my niece Nikki, she is 17 months old, and I take care of her during the week when my sis works. I give her back at the end of the day though!!!!!

I can't wait until my foot is healed and I can run again!!!

Deb - the song they are playing on the radio now by Papa Roach is called "Time is Running Out" and it's a pretty good song if you want to download that one.

Mornin'!

I was supposed to ride with my pregnant friend today but she called and was feeling yucky. Poor thing. She is almost 19 weeks along and they have detected something wrong with the baby. :( She has to wait until she's 20 weeks (Aug. 20th) and then she is going to a genetic specialist at the University of Colorado in Denver. There's a big growth that only a week ago was in the bladder area and is now all the way up under the heart. How sad. I pray that with all of this modern medicine they can do something. She's almost 45.

Anyway, I ended up doing weights - chest, back, shoulders and then abs from BM2. DH said he'd ride with me tonight even though he rode with his cycling buddies this morning and is riding with them tomorrow morning too. Awww...what a nice guy. I told him I'm afraid I'm gonna lose my speed b/c my one cycling partner has had non-stop company and hasn't been able to ride and Chris is pregnant. And Katelyn moved. Boo hoo. Just not that many girls to ride with here.

Meg - Well thank goodness you only have TWO boys!!! :p

Dallys - Yes, it is me who DINKS around too much. Shame on you for doing the same. :)

I guess I should go back to work. I mean, that IS what I'm getting paid for. But my physical/mental health is very important on the job too!

Hey Maniacs! Taking a short break here to rant :p. Have a Cocker Spaniel in today that hasn't been groomed since June...that's June 2006!!!! like 14 mo. ago! Why do people even have dogs if they can't take care of them? This one has a super temperment too, which is unheard of for a neglected Cocker. I'm seriously thinking of not taking Cockers anymore because no one takes proper care of them and it makes me to sick (I need to be happy when I work). They are the most neglected breed that I see. You can't talk to these type of people either. Not worth it.

Off to tackle the globs of hair and stickers and poop and who knows what else?

Sorry for the rant. But, you guys love rants...am I right? LOL!

Dallys - Yes, we adore rants. I hate when people don't take care of their animals. How sad. :(

Diane Sue - Great workout! Darn darn darn - I was trying to think of another move to do for back this morning and I wish I would have thought of pullovers. I LOVE pullovers. I was going to do PUB but I really wanted to use my Smith machine to do bench press so I opted to do my own thing. But I can't believe I forgot about pullovers. Now I'm itchin' to do 'em. :p Have fun with the grandkids.

I'm going to be doing my WO later tonight. I am doing the floor work from B&G and PLB. I will do abs too.

I was going to WO earlier, but I had talked to the DH and was very upset about things, and he wants the boys this weekend, and I am panicky over it. Just alot of emotions. THen my son Chase is sick and wanted to cuddle, so I took a rest with him. I needed that. I will probably take the boys to Friendly's tonight if Chase is up to it. Let them get some icecream.

Gotta shower and get moving. BBL

Lora - I copied a crap load of Papa Roach. I'll listen to them later and let you know what I think. :)

Meg - the only CD I don't have from Linkin Park is Maximum Linkin Park. Do you have that one? If so, is it good?

Dallys - Have fun with CC#5, I did that one this morning. Fun stuff! Thats nasty about that dog. How sad.

Suz - I'm sorry to hear about your friend. I pray that she is ok as well.

Diane Sue - Excellent workout!!! Sprinting is my favorite!

Char - Where the heck are you girl?

Hey!

Good news about the neglected Cocker. I have talked the owners (who are obviously overwhelmed with other things) into giving the dog to one of my other customers who is looking for a new therapy dog, and she will take meticulous care of it.:) This dog will be perfect for therapy. Just needs alittle training, but temperment is spot on. She'll be picking the dog up this weekend. Hallelujah!

So my work is done...:)

Yeah, where the heck is Char?

Deb - I thought of you the other day when I was doing Spinervals Sprinting Machine. It's pure HIIT sprints. You'd love it....but they use a bike. Let me know what you end up liking from Papa Roach (if you do). I have a feeling it's your kind of music. I just got done listening to Parmour Sessions a few times while I cleaned. It's good cleaning music too.

Great workouts everyone.........off to eat my dinner....just got done cleaning.

Things are hoppin' around here!

Meg - Hang in there. I'm sorry your DH upset you. I hope you two can work things out for the boys (all 2 of them :)). My mom made it so hard on my dad (NOT saying you're doing that AT ALL - just sharing my situation) and she would TOTALLY freak us out about him when he would try to pick us up (they divorced when I was 3) and we would run and scream and hide under the bed b/c she would yell "Stewart's here" and we'd just freak! He finally gave up - told my DH all these years later it was not worth putting us through that (still hasn't said that to me, as he doesn't like to talk about it). My mom did nothing but bash my dad all these years - STILL DOES 42 years later! He never says a bad word about her to me (has said a couple of things to my DH - they're really close). She's on her 5th marriage (and trust me - she was NOT easy to live with!) - he's been married to the same woman for 30 years. They were so in love - now she is in the very final stages of Alzheimer's and he refuses to put her in a home. He takes complete care of her even though she can't walk or talk. I didn't meet him until I was 30 (and I'm 45 this month). I'm glad I got to see him with his wife before she got sick...all the love they had for each other. I wish I would have had the opportunity to have my dad in my life. He's a wonderful man. They lived on a boat in the South Pacific for 11 years and there's a faded picture of my sister and I as children on the wall. At least I know he thought of us b/c my mom made us think he didn't care about us. He contacted us when we were 18 but my mom put the huge guilt trip on us for that one. Long story and I've written enough. :p I know nothing about your DH or how he is with your boys, but I do hope that something can be worked out. I don't mean to stick my nose where it doesn't belong. Now if there's abuse, I retract everything!

Dallys - WAY TO GO!!!!!!!

Meg - I'm sorry you are having such a hard time right now. Sending you a cyber {{{hug}}}

Lora - I listened to a few Papa Roach songs and I do like them. I put a few on my MP4 player. Thanks for the recommendation! I love new music!!! :)

Deb - Glad you like them. I'll let you know how the older CDs I ordered from Amazon are when I get them. What songs did you download? or should I say ...which ones do you like the most?

Where the heck is Charlotte? Did I miss something when I was gone?

Meg - sorry about your butthead DH. My DH has been being a real #@$@@##$ also. I've had it up to my neck with his crap lately. We got into it bigtime before vacation and it was a particularly hurtful fight......the kinds I can forgive for but NEVER forget.

When are the new Cathe's supposed to be available? My computer loads too slow to read the blog.

The new Amy's go on presale at the end of the month and I think the new Tracey's are coming soon also. Amy posted equipment needed for her new series and she lists up to a 65 pound loaded barbell for equipment.....sounds good. I like the heavy option DVDs. I need a job so I can buy everything!!

P.S. Meg - I should also have added that I do wish your DH could quit being a butthead!

No ride tonight. DH thinks I should take a day off from cycling. So I'm sitting here eating a piece of salmon. It's yummy. It's from Sam's Club. It's seasoned.

I'm a little nervous about my eating over the next couple of days. Tomorrow night we're going to the Macaroni Sin Palace b/c DH's mom wanted to do something for my b-day, which isn't until next week. My sister is going with us since her SO is currently at Sturgis (a yearly tradition he does with friends - she doesn't want to go either - but he's actually NOT having fun and is coming home early!). Then Saturday morning we had already planned to meet my sister for DONUTS!!! Sunday, after the Ride for Sight (I wanted to ride 62.5 miles but might only end up doing 50 since that's all anybody wants to do) is the cycling club picnic where we expect to have at least 30 pies!

Thanks guys. Your support means alot.

Suz- I never want to keep the boys from him, and I watch my mouth re: him when they are around. BUT, he has serious issues. I know he loves the boys, but there just has been so much sh*t lately, that I can't trust DH at all. Not that he would hurt the kids, but he would hurt me, and possibly use the kids to do that. I am going to Family Court in the morning and filing for temporary custody, that way he legally won't be able to take them without my permission. His family is in Canada, so that has me worried, if he were to take them up there. I am just so unsure of everything, that anything that has to do with him makes me very uneasy.
ANd don't worry, any advice is welcomed. You aren't sticking your nose anywhere wrong LOL! I appreciate it.

Just pray that it all goes well and I worry for nothing. Thanks guys.

Deb- thanks for the hug, and no I don't have that CD of LP.

Lora- I hope things get better with your DH too. I feel ya.

Charlotte- hope all is well if you read this.

Anne- you too!
