Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Sunday July 29

I ended up doing Johnny G's Crank It Up spinning workout. It was an hour long and I burned 410 calories. I did 20 minutes of upper back and neck yoga but that's all I had time for. I wanted to do Squeeze legs but I'll have to fit them in another day or try to do it later, although that's not likely to happen since I didn't do it this morning. That was a pretty decent interval workout. The music was decent.

Have great workouts or rest days everyone.

Dallys & Suz - I hate to ask this question, but how do you keep the seat on the bike from irritating you "down there"? It's really starting to bother me. I don't have a whole lot of money ....so it will have to be a cheap fix. I'm sure there are probably more comfortable seats you can buy??

Good Morning Maniacs!!!

Did P90X legs/back yesterday and really brought it to the town!!!! I was trembling for 2 hours after workout. I had a hard time sleeping cuz my glutes are so sore. I love this! Today is suppose to be a rest day, but I rested on friday so I am gonna do Cardio Coach numero #3 and challenge myself with a higher level.

FIL seems to be moving around more and I hope he will go back home today with his dogs. I don't mind going over there and seeing if he needs help, etc, but I am just going nuts lately with his dogs especially. They are use to going out every hour. Our Speck has an intestinal issue and I have had to deal with cleaning up diarrhea and then his dogs have accidents since they are on a hour schedule. The dogs need to go. I have had enough of them.

This morning I worked legs and dreaded doing it. Didn't feel much different as I was doing the workout. I hate leg work. Shoulders are nicely sore from yesterdays workout so I'm happy about that.

Legs
Squats (warmup): 65# - 1 set/15 reps; 85# - 1 sets/12 reps
Squats: 100# - 3 sets/8 reps
Bulgarian Split Squats: 75# - 1 set/10 reps; 70# - 2 sets/10 reps
Elevated SLDL: 65# - 3 sets/10 reps
Leg Extensions: 90# - 3 sets/10 reps
Calf Raises: GS Legs Calf Work
***Notes: Legs got really fatigued quickly today. I haven't worked my legs since July 15th (wow, has it been that long?) and when I got to the BSS's I was dying with the first set so had to lower the weight. Those are just freaking hard!

Hope you all have great workouts. Getting ready for my mom's party. Food brawl to ensue in about 5 hours.

Char - I got your pm, just haven't had time to be on here much. Sorry!

Morning Maniacs! Getting ready to tackle CC numero #3 like Char.}( I can't beleive I'm not sore from yesterdays Butts and Gutts. It never happens for me with this workout. It was tough and I thought for sure I'm be hurtin' today.

Lora- Sounds like you need some padded biking shorts. A must have for me. Should cure your problem. You won't regret the purchace. You can find them at any sporting goods store.

Char- I couldn't deal with the little doggies for long either. Especially with the needing to go out every hr. It's like watching someone elses kids. You love em, but can't wait for them to go home.:) I'm joining you with CC #3 today.

Debbie-Bulgarian split squats are tough, let alone doing them with 75-70#! That's pure torture right there! Have fun at the food brawl.}(

I just wanted to check and see what everyone is doing. Today is a rest day for me. Went to church and then Walmart. I bought material to make an apron my granddaughter requested. Picked up extra just in case the other two ask. We are going to dd's for a barbecue in a little while. It will be a great time to take the motorcycle and try out the intercom system.

Charlotte, sorry you are having to clean up so many messes. Our Dane has a sensitive stomach and I have to watch her everytime she goes out or she will eat something that disagrees. Have to take care of her skin too. I hope your fil feels up to taking care of his own dogs soon. I know it is tough. Hang in there:)How was CC#3?

Debbie, I know your busy but could you give me an idea of what bulgarian split squats are?

Dallys, I don't always have doms after the b&g floorwork. I do get visible results though and that is all that matters.

Diane Sue- Yeah visible results are all that matters.:) When I'm doing the B&G, I know it's working, just funny I don't get the soreness that I hear others get. In case Deb doesn't come back, "Bulgarian Split squats" are when you rest your back foot on a bench or step and do a lunge with front foot. They are very hard at weight bench height, at least for me. Cathe does these using the step with a lower height and I don't feel the torture as much. lol. Have fun at the barbecue.

Hi Ladies!

I plan on doing an easier ride with DH later tonight. I can't ride tomorrow am since I have to be at work so early so I have to try to ride today. I'd like to get some sort of weight work in, but we ended up having to go to MIL's house and helping her move a bunch of stuff out of her basement and that took much longer than expected. I carried up lots of paint - 4-1 gallon cans at a time up the stairs. I guess that counts for something. :p The new renters move into that house on Friday, so we won't have any more work to do over there. Yay!

Lora - I second the padded shorts. I couldn't ride without them. But even still, you have to get your "down there" area conditioned. And even then, a good seat makes all the difference. The one I have on my bike in the basement bothers me much more than the one I have on my bike that I ride outside. But good ones can be so pricey.

Char - Sorry to hear about all the trouble with FIL's dogs. That would be tough. Way to go on getting in CC#3!

Debbie - Enjoy the food brawl!

Dallys - I'm always baffled when I do a workout that kicks my butt and then I don't get DOMS. I never understand that.

Diane Sue - I just wanted to say that was some workout yesterday! Are your workouts usually that long? I know you've mentioned it, but my memory... When you do those tricep dips with the 45# bar on your lap, how high up are you and are your feet up on a bench or on the floor? I love the DOMS I got but I just did them off my step with my feet on the floor. I wondered if I was being wimpy. :)

Dallys, thanks for explaining the Bulgarian split squats.

Suz, my workouts with cardio, weights, and flexibility generally come out at right around 2 hours. Sometimes a little more and sometimes a little less. I really like to do hour long cardio workouts. Once in awhile I change it up though. When I put the barbell on my lap I usually have my feet on the floor and 3 risers on the bench.
